I would have to agree with pugman. The main reason why this forum is built is for all the members to express ideas and informations or help one another out when it comes to the aspects of Bitcoin and even other cryptocurrencies. This forum is not a platform solely made for earning money through signature campaigns. If you have genuine intentions towards this forum, the merit system would not bother you. It should inspire you to do better or just keep doing what you do if you believe that you have been constructively contributing to this forum. I understand that most people also felt the same way, but it's time to move on and work hard so that sooner or later you will get the merits that you'll need.
Yup i can understand your point brother and thank you for your honest opinion, i have genuine intentions toward this forum also i joined bounties to help me financially to cope up in what i need in school, because this year is my thesis year so i prolly need budget tho. Im in same state at the moment and I'm pretty sure Merit wont solve the problem they are trying to solve.
Dont be negative bro, merit system for me is effective way to solve things regarding shitposting and spamming since they cant get any merit from those post and eventually they will be fed up and stuck with their current rank. To me it looks like the ones that already has a high rank likes merit because they got a great number of free merit and also don't need to rank up.
While us new members don't have any merit and hardly gets any even if we post great quality posts.
To conclude:
- High ranked members like merit
- Low ranked members do not
Well not all low ranked members dont like this new system, because with this we can read more constructive post in different threads and gain some knowledge about it.
People who do not seek a rank, usually merit will come without being expect since their post mostly genuine and not being force by any campaign.
But if you're try to seek a higher rank it means that you're try to achieve something , usually higher payrate or account sales , IMO it will be difficult to get merit.

Well as you can see my activity is now 252 which is equivalent to Sr. Member. Since early january i'm excited to become sr member because high rank = high pay in bounty as we all know. But due to merit system is being implemented i dont know when will i be able to reach sr member, but im not against the merit system because i can see the potential of it in the future, to reduce account farmers and shitposters in our beloved forum. I just feel sad because my expectation to become sr member wont happen sooner. Just want to share my inner feelings. lol

For the long term investment, bitcoin is still profitable than ethereum because as you can see ethereum just got pumped from hundred dollars to thousand dollar, which will not move for a short period of time, however, bitcoin dipped from as high as 15k-19k to 10-11k so when you invest on Bitcoin and it regain its price you can gain alot of profit.

Well, all airdrop is profitable since it is a free token given to us by the owner. To know the worth of the airdrop is you should hold it for too long so that it can build up the potential it needs to have a good price at the market. But recently most of the airdrop focus about referral which is the thing that i dont like.

The bad: Even if you post quality contents you may not get many merits by the people.
Well you cant force somebody to merit your post even though it is good just wait patiently and someone will merit you one day.
Another thing can we just post normally like before merit system is not a big deal because it is only a requirement to rank up, Rank doesn't matter if you really care about the forum, what really matter is you shared your knowledge about crypto and you also gained knowledge here. I do understand how you feel and how it can be frustrating to gain those merits, but after seeing many users improve and be rewarded, I had hopes that no matter how hard it would be, people would sooner or later recognize you if you truly give an effort in posting. Can you give examples of these "improved" posts? I still see the same shitposts. Plus I believe most of them are not here to learn about Bitcoin. I hope that someday you and the others who are having a hard time accepting the merit system would try to see the good in it and try to adapt so that we can all move forward and be better members of this forum.
I hope all of them spammers leave. That would encourage the old Bitcoiners to come back in the forum, making it a place of learning again. It is okay if you still see shit post out there, they wont get merit of out them and eventually they will be stuck at their current rank and will be fed up to join signature campaign. That is not totally illegal, you are the one controlling smerit available into your account but remember the main purpose of the merit system is to recognized the member who did more constructive/quality post. Yup, there is no rules on giving a merit on your friend or vice versa. But before going to give merit to a friend, your friend must do constructive post so that when you give him merit you won't be questioned by the higher ops. |

exactly this. the sooner the people who got an initial large stack of sMerit (just from our ranking when this was implemented) start spreading it around, the more sMerit those who received it can start sending sMerit of their own. we need to spread this initial pool of sMerits out so more members than just high ranking members with sMerit to burn are doing it. as of right now the bulk of people who can freely send sMerit without worrying about running dry right away (and thus not being able to +merit a worthy post at that point) are high ranking members so it seems top heavy. once these sMerits are spread around more i think posts that may otherwise be overlooked by high ranking members (because they may not have enough interest in some areas of the forums [beginners and help, say], or a thread just doesnt attract their interest because the topic is old news to the btc vetrans) will be merited by the regular "rank and file" members as the pool of people with spendable sMerits expands. sMerit is really a thing that we can share to those who are deserving, and also we must not forget that Every 1Merit we received from others is equivalent to 0.5sMerit that can be share to others so basically if you got merit many times by others like 10 merits you'll have extra 5 sMerit which you can give to those who deserved it. With that i can say the this merit system will be continuous and wont end up drying sMerit. I decided that the previous allocation was too unfair in this area, so everyone with activity >= 775 got 500 more merit if they didn't already have 1000 merit (and also Lutpin). No extra sMerit, though.
So I missed 500 Merrit by not doing 15 more posts... FeelsBadMan I still think a progressional distribution would have been the way to go. Would have been better for higher Legendary accounts as well. you're not the only one dude, by jan 30 ill rank up from full member to sr.member really feels bad right? But i didnt take it to big because i can see that this merit system will elimate those who abuse bounty by farming account and doing shit post |

And what about the Legendary gap? Your boost to them means people who had almost 2,000 less activity than me are now equal in merits. I feel your pain man. Sa totoo lang maganda naman talaga ung about sa merit system para mabawasan na ang shitposters, account farmers, and spammers kasi sa totoo lang din daming shitposter sa asia pero usually madami din sa Pilipinas kaya dinidiscriminate tayo ng iba kasi ang shit naman talaga puro one line lang tapos wala pang sense.
pero ang masakit talaga kasi pahirapan na mag pa rank up, sayang sr member na sana ko sa jan 30 kaso matatagalan pa since mahirap makakuha ng merit galing sa ibang tao pero tsaga tsaga padin.
