341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can i get some help getting some transactions confirmed on: July 28, 2016, 11:46:36 PM
Between the 26th and the 27th i sent a couple transactions as you can see in the txids its been a long wait for the confirms. I dont know how to do all the rebroadcasting stuff in hex for or all that so if someone could tell me step by step how to get these confirmed thatd be great

https://blockchain.info/tx/ac295e940785cb7d46349b9674ab0303a859e0ec1c32907cc7111745d349d1b5

The first and the third transaction got confirmed 22 minutes ago, I think the rebroadcast worked for these two transaction.
Yes im just waiting on the middle transaction to confirm now. Really dont wanna keep rebroadcasting all night but if thats what it takes

There's no need to lose sleep over it. As the sending address is your personal address, the bitcoins will simply go back to your wallet if the network drops it. If bc.i somehow goes weird and not showing your balance, just push the hex tx you saved before.
Besides, rebroadcasting is only useful when nodes have dropped your transaction(s). If your transaction(s) have just been propagated through the network rebroadcasting won't do any good.
342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can i get some help getting some transactions confirmed on: July 28, 2016, 07:54:18 PM
The 1st and 3rd were accepted but the 2nd 1 gave me this message

-IMG-

Guess your tx fee was too low. In this case go to several sites here and push that tx on those sites.
343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can i get some help getting some transactions confirmed on: July 28, 2016, 07:40:28 PM
What wallet are you using? If you're using core then you don't need to broadcast them manually because core does it automatically.

If you're using some other wallet then copy this, this, and this and save them. Then rebroadcast those transactions using https://coinb.in/#broadcast every several hours.
This is asking for the tx in hex form. How do i get that?

I just edited my post above. Forgot to add the links for that 'this, this, and this', my bad.
If a transaction have already been broadcasted to bc.i you just need to add ?format=hex after the blockchain link. Some wallets allows you to get the raw transaction too.

Revisit your thread. It got some replies. You get 14 activity added to your max activity for every 2 week period that you posted in.
346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help with unconfirmed transaction - can i sweep or resend with higher fee? on: July 27, 2016, 06:08:44 PM
can u clarify what u mean by "child pays for parent"?

also, lets say my transaction consisted of multiple input addresses.  when i go to sign and broadcast a tx, coin bin for example asks for one private key.  this is where i get confused.  which private key would one use to sign a tx consisting of multiple tx?  or do i have to do it from within electrum which is my wallet.

and to clarify, the transaction that is stuck is actually all from and to my personal addresses so theres really no 2nd party per se.  does that make my loss risk less of a factor + i should just wait?

CPFP transaction is basically a transaction that pays of its input. So if the input got stuck because of zero fee the child can pay make up for it by paying higher fee. But note that only few miners have implemented CPFP so it might not work at all.

For the coinb.in, I have no answer for that. Hopefully someone can explain because I'm curious too.

Even if you're the sender and receiver of all 4 transactions you'll still have to wait for the transactions to be dropped.
347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help with unconfirmed transaction - can i sweep or resend with higher fee? on: July 27, 2016, 05:29:36 PM
Unconfirmed input usually means that there are at least 2 parties involved so letting the inputs get dropped from the network is not a good idea as some might lose money because of it. Any parties that stand to lose will make sure that doesn't happen by continually rebroadcasting the txes anyway.

So what's left for OP is to wait for confirmation or try sending a transaction using the unconfirmed input using higher fee (Child Pays for Parent).

Not sure where that came from but sweeping the private keys won't work.
348  Economy / Exchanges / Re: how to anonymously exchange bitcoin or other altcoins on: July 21, 2016, 02:37:56 PM
Most altcoin exchanges don't ask for IDs for trading bitcoin to altcoin or vice versa. They will only ask for IDs when you're trading or withdrawing fiat.

Mind explaining why you created a thread titled "HACKED. BY. trezOo." (or something very close to that. and that's a weird title.) in meta before editing the title? I didn't get to read the post.

I suggest any lender not to lend anything even with a signed message unless they're willing to buy that account which might have been hacked.

Edit:
The thread is now deleted.
350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction stuck for 10 hours (used Bitcoin Core) on: July 21, 2016, 12:02:45 AM
It crashed right when it got to 100%... Jesus Christ. I have wasted my entire day trying to get this thing done... you guys need to give better solution for this shit soon. RPF or something else that doesn't require waiting for scanning the entire blockchain.

What im supposed to do if it crashes again??

Refer to this thread for RBF.
If you experience another crash when starting core normally, post the debug.log here and we'll try to help you fix it. It's in the same directory as wallet.dat (C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin by default).
351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction stuck for 10 hours (used Bitcoin Core) on: July 20, 2016, 09:07:56 PM
I have just tried "abandontransaction <txid>" and I get this:

"Transaction not eligible for abandonment (code -5)"

What does it mean?

Don't know what it mean but try using zapwalletexes instead. Refer to this post on how to do it for windows. The OP on that thread got the same message too.

Make sure you close bitcoin core before you do that. And backup your wallet.dat just in case.
352  Other / Meta / Re: Can you please add arabic local Section on: July 20, 2016, 05:50:51 PM
Many? You sure? I only see like 4 post average per month for each site. And half of the posts on the bitcoingarden Arab section are in english.

I do like the idea of making a new section for Arabic language (not a specific country) though. That is provided that bitcointalk have enough Arabic users to make the new section lively.
Are you sure HuhHuh? Please stop signature spamming

Yes I am.

Oh, I was referring to the Arab board with the bolded part, not the whole site.

Tried to sell iPhone 5s - 128GB (which apparently doesn't exist) for 0.3. Changed 128GB to 64GB later. Preferred not to use escrow. Archive.

Tried to sell his friend's 1 S9 Batch 1 no PSU for 1BTC. People said it was to cheap and might be scam so OP increased it to 1.5BTC later. Didn't mention any escrow. Archive.

Don't lend without a proper collateral folks. Account are not good enough as collateral after that 20 days posting gap.
355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Overcoming halving on: July 19, 2016, 07:28:16 PM
Has BTC overcome the halving? Or is it just a slow rise and the worst things are waiting in the near future?

Bitcoin halving isn't all about the price rise. It's not like because we just crossed halving, doesn't mean the price would shoot up. The theories of other people (including me) that the price would shoot up on halving is wrong (as we all have seen). It will surely rise in the future but it wouldn't shoot up right after halving. And also, I'm pretty sure "worst things" aren't waiting for us in the future.
This sounds interesting. Why is that so? I mean, why price won't shoot up rightaway?

Why should it? Most (big) miners are still making profit at the current price and there's no sudden surge of demand good enough to cause the price to continue increasing despite what we've all seen in the last 2 months. It is perfectly possible that the halved block reward will increase the price over time, but expecting it to increase right away are just unreasonable.

That means that you did not put the backup in the right place, or it is the wrong backup file since the file there was created today.

I pasted the wallet here C:\Program Files\Bitcoin and it's the last backup I have what would make it the wrong file?

Could this has something to do with the blockchain being on a different place than by default? its on a different drive than bitcoins installation?

I remember that before the wallet was on the C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming folder but now there is nothing in there

The correct place for wallet.dat is where your data files are. The default is appdata\roaming\bitcoin for windows but looks like you're using custom directory.
357  Other / Politics & Society / Re: When lending bitcoin is haram? Is haram taking the collateral when giving a loan? on: July 19, 2016, 06:41:27 PM
For you I have found some Islamic laws about loan, and as bitcoin is currency so you can apply it the same as to other currencies. below are the details of Islamic Rules of Loan;

https://www.al-islam.org/a-summary-of-rulings-makarim-shirazi/rules-loans-qardh

http://www.islamic-laws.com/debtloanrules.htm

None of them mention collateral but thanks, I learned something new  Lips sealed

Not an expert on Islam law here (I'm not even Islam), but looks like there's a good explanation here complete with references: https://islamqa.info/en/140078

It pretty much said that it is indeed haram.
But. I think you can get a more clear answer from your local imam.

The website you mentioned is the first result on google when I research about collateral, it says that if I benefit from collateral it is counted as haram but what if i just get my money back by selling that collateral and send back the rest to the user who took the loan?

Hmm you got a point. Only scenario there is using the collateral and not selling it.
I think the first link provided by bestluck does have that scenario. Just look for the word "mortgage".

Quote
2317. * If the creditor demands the repayment of debt when it is due, and the debtor does not repay it, the creditor can sell the mortgaged property and collect his dues, provided that he had been authorized to do so. And if he was not authorized to do so, it will be necessary to obtain permission from the debtor. And if the debtor is not available, he should obtain permission for the sale of the property from the Mujtahid. In either case, if the sale proceeds exceed the amount due to him, he should give the amount in excess of his debt to the debtor.

Are you 100% sure that you have the correct wallet.dat? You should be able to see your transaction history from bitcoin core. See if you recognize all of them and if there's any recent move.

How do I link to a feed of a particular user profile's posts?

AFAIK you can't do that.
