341  Economy / Lending / Re: Req. 5 months registered, 20 hrs. logged in, 60 posts, to post in this subforum. on: August 09, 2012, 08:36:12 PM
I personally see a need for two lending forums - a proper one that is reasonable clean for actual business, and a second one for discussion and other crap that turns up.  I can see a simple situation (two board system) where people post by default into the main board, but threads are moved to the sub board when they are so far off topic they are irrelevant, are simply discussions, obviously not real business, or unfounded (and ponzi talk is included in that irrelevant of which side you think you're on).

The main board would also hold history of previous completed deals and failed details (like John's current list).

Nothing in this stops people from sending pm's directly of lenders making offers.  Also, with the large amount of shit that has been thrown the last few weeks, the forum is at serious risk of business leaving (including my own - I do actually have a web site to shift to).
342  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 800BTC Loan payback in 2 weeks @ 15% on: August 08, 2012, 09:50:27 PM
ok - so no "hide the pineapple" pictures.
343  Economy / Lending / Re: Tangible Cryptography LLC seeks Line of Credit to expand working capital. on: August 08, 2012, 09:25:07 PM
If the BTC LOC paid 1% I'd be more interested.  Otherwise watching.
344  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 800BTC Loan payback in 2 weeks @ 15% on: August 08, 2012, 09:22:33 PM
Hey i'm trying to invest in some stuff please give me a 800BTC loan. I can't tell you what i'm doing with it or how i intend to pay it back. I'll have the 920 in 2 weeks, I promise.

Is this actually a serious request?
345  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] REBATE official thread on: August 08, 2012, 09:11:03 PM
I did my bit to move the price last week, and a buyback appears the only sensible option.

However, on top of that, the dividend (what ever it is) still needs to be paid.

Sounds like a motion to wind-up/buyback is in order.
346  Economy / Securities / Re: Projected Dividends for PPT.DIV shares on: August 08, 2012, 04:27:13 AM
Ok, which creative PPT.DIV founder decided to advise the Power Unified School District on how to structure debt?

lol - GFC Mk7 in the making (and again from one of the least solvent of counties in the USA).  Didn't the US learn anything from cheap credit (i.e. you have to pay it back)  Learn to live on the cash you have before borrowing.

In other news, I noticed PokerStars has been more sucessful than the entire Bitcoin economy with their ponzi - even after paying back 30% of their clients funds and $547M to the US government those not in jail walk away with millions.

The deal will end the saga of Full Tilt Poker, a company built by Ray Bitar with the help of poker champions like Chris “Jesus” Ferguson and Howard Lederer that Preet Bharara, the U.S. Attorney in Manhattan, has repeatedly said was a Ponzi scheme. But Bharara’s crackdown on the online poker industry continues, including against Isai Scheinberg, the founder of PokerStars, who has been indicted by Bharara for operating an illegal gambling business. Bitar, who recently returned to the U.S. from Ireland to face the criminal charges Bharara has filed against him, pleaded not guilty and is currently out on bail. Scheinberg is believed to be in the Isle of Man.

347  Economy / Securities / Re: Projected Dividends for PPT.DIV shares on: August 08, 2012, 02:27:06 AM
I would like to apologise for a hiccup in payment of the PPT.DIV dividends this week.  There was a miscommunication between myself and Burt resulting in a late payment.  Sorry.
348  Economy / Lending / Re: Bryan Micon's List of BTC Ponzi Schemes that should not be listed as "Lending" on: August 07, 2012, 10:06:27 PM
Without wanting to detract or trying to correct anything else from the other posts, could you please update the OP for PPT.x.  Burt is no longer an owner after I purchased the core shares of the five founders last week.  It continues as a ring-fenced operation separate from my personal and Starfish BCB business.
349  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: imsaguy's Enormously Interesting Extended Investment Opportunity on: August 07, 2012, 08:45:17 PM
Just for the record (seeing the usual misguided post from Micon above) - I redeemed 1500 coins of investments with Imsaguy a short time ago.  Also note, that availability has not increased since.
350  Economy / Lending / Re: Tangible Cryptography LLC seeks Line of Credit to expand working capital. on: August 07, 2012, 07:25:49 PM
Could you clarify why you aren't pursuing traditional capital avenues? e.g. business loan or line of credit, or if you're personally securing it, home equity loan or line of credit. In todays <5% APR world, it seems  strange to pay 52% interest...

-bgc

Just as an observation - it strike me that there are people that have obtained consumer credit rather than business credit without appreciating the difference.  I have run several SME businesses, and one moderately large enterprise (circa $50M turnover).  Banks (bless them) typically want more collateral than the business have.  To get a loan, I would expect them to have to sign over their houses as personal guarantees.  To give two examples:

a) Sought a $40k business loan to cover some timing differences in forward payments.  Refused despite having a $50k deposit with the bank.
b) Sought an overdraft facility during growth phase.  Debtors were increasing around $2M/month and the business was at break-even with strong cash-flow.  Refused despite obtaining a $5M guarantee from a major shareholder.

Why do people pay more - because they have few options.  That is why returns are expected to be between 30% and 50% per year. (btw, the business above managed that for its investors turning $10M into $40M+ in around four years)
351  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Starfish BCB - Loans and Deposits (deposit rate 1.0%/week from 1 August) on: August 07, 2012, 07:15:38 PM
Maybe I can butcher the language betterer: I has borrowed 15 coins to them.

i.e. confirming the above loan has taken place.
352  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Starfish BCB - Loans and Deposits (deposit rate 1.0%/week from 1 August) on: August 06, 2012, 07:20:47 AM
I will be mostly off-line/limited contact for the next 24-36 hours as I have an errand to run out of town.

DoubleIcarus 10 BTC
Added, and a table is painstakingly made.  Grin

A few more modifications, it'll get there (I use spreadsheets to build mine).

Note that the "Wezzy" line can drop the "Australia" reference - He lurks on a BlackHat forum under that name.
You can add godchronic if you like - they're still dodging requests.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=90788.0

358  Economy / Lending / Re: Inquiry into terms generally offered on: August 05, 2012, 04:12:59 AM
If you got a loan, it would be 10% per month or higher.  Almost any other source will be cheaper.

You typically have to prove who you are, and how you will repay.  Along the way people are likely to call you names and assume because you are requesting a BTC loan, you are here to steal from the community (why, see the first line above).  Welcome to "lending".
359  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: -= RUSTYRYAN's DEPOSITS - PAYING 3.0% WEEKLY INTEREST =- on: August 04, 2012, 09:38:31 PM
I know you run the payouts on the same day (that's pretty common), was curious why deposits would be treated that way as well.
360  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Pirate Pass Through Bonds! on: August 04, 2012, 08:48:31 PM
Phew! Almost bought a good chunk of .A's for 1.4 each. Grin Just had a few seconds to cancel my order, and after that no more time to place a new bid. So missed my weekly PPT.x dosage. Cry

Also, please update the sales result file - suddenly all bonds were sold in the auction and there seemed to be two (!) four-figure bids (=never happened before). Together with the sudden rise in the number of insured PPT's and Patrick buying PPT operations I think we've had highly unusual amount of significant news this week. One can't help but wonder what really happened in Vegas.

Btw. I find it quite unintuitive that while the number of individuals backing this asset reduces from 6 to 1, the bonds start selling even better than earlier. This of course makes the change in demand even more relevant (and odd).

I'm glad you managed to pull the 1.4.  Also, I wasn't able to get to Vegas.

Thanks Burt for pulling the trigger on the auction - the assets should get transferred to my account this coming week, I understand it's a manual process Nef needs to attend to.
