I don't understand what that chart is trying to tell me.  What is the "network deficit"?

It shows how much miners would earn if the block reward was 0 BTC (not 25 as currently). It's supposed that in the future miner's income will be mainly tx fees. The fees will cover expenses for mining (electricity). Now most of the miners would switch their hardware off if there was no 25 BTC given each block. Bitcoin will survive only if its price or fees will be high enough to cover expenses. If this doesn't happen then only a few computers will mine and a successful 51% attack will be easily achieved.

NB: I may be wrong in my interpretation of "network deficit".

Thats why I.. who believes in BTC for the long term will never ever shutdown my rigs even when i for some time make some loss knowing i already made money out of the system and becourse if you are a true Bitcoin believer you are willing to invest some time keeping the protocol alive ..untill ASIC will arrive true miners should keep mining...but thats just how i think about it im a true supporter of the project not only for the money ...money is what is killing this world...and I have enough to live well..

But I also will laugh IF one time 1 BTC reaches $100 or 1000 pp .... Wink

I like the fireworks @blockchain..congrats everyone  Wink Wink Wink
343  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL ASIC is bogus on: November 28, 2012, 04:22:13 PM
If they had a rev 1 that performed they would have bragged about their working prototype. There is no prototype because they never had a working chip.

I believe the first story Smiley

I think the bragging about it part is so true they even bragged with dummychips so ...

But time will tell and i am glad i have no money in ASIC as today....

I am still confused about halving day..yet excited en also 50% incom loss.... Shocked so now we will just be talking ASIC  Huh
344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy halving day on: November 28, 2012, 03:30:13 PM
At least 700 people watching on blockchain right now. There should be a little something extra on the #210000 page.
At least... behind one of those 700 monitors sit 3 people

How many are setting on toilets like I am?

It's pretty significant... we have been doing this for years now on 50 BTC.  This will look like a massive reward when it's at 25.. 12.5.. etc.  These will be the "old days".

yeah crazy huh the reward go,s down 50% and yet we are excited... Tongue  My heineken is getting Cold ...aaa takes 2 celebrite the incomhalving in a moment ..drink dronk drinken  Cry
347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy halving day on: November 28, 2012, 02:49:29 PM
Network hash rate is the highest I've ever seen it. Who is testing their ASICs?

I think many people are just mining because they want to be a part of it, like me.  Cheesy

Yuuuup +28Th  orso  Huh nice ..

Block rate has been going wild for a while Smiley
It's at 5% at the moment.
I saw 17 in 95 minutes 2.5 hours ago

But I was thinking that the higher that get the better!
42 left to go now - but the change of hte hash rate dropping after 1/2 is quite high and it's only 13% into the difficulty change
So that remaining 87% could possibly take a while ...

Anyway it's now 28-Nov 10:00UTC

+42 at 2% (yeah I'll stick with 2% anyway even though it looks like it'll be wrong Tongue)
Is 6hrs 52min or 28-Nov 16:52 UTC - already more than hour earlier than my last guess.

and if it stays around 5% it'll be 6hrs 39min - so 28-Nov 16:39 UTC

10% will be 6hrs 18min or 28-Nov 16:18 UTC

So anyway - with it this close it's almost certainly 28-Nov 16:NN UTC for some value NN Smiley

Countdown today is the day...whioeeeeee  ...o no my incom halves today happy or sad but what ever it is a milestone  Shocked

I am also intrested to see how many hashes will get plugged out after today  Cry

354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Don't Realize How Crucial Bitcoin is to saving America. on: November 26, 2012, 09:20:45 PM
wouldn't bitcoins success over value the USD? when it already is over valued?

A USD to bitcoin trade requires both USD and bitcoin. While an exchange that requires USD is good for USD, if subsequent transactions are conducted in bitcoin to the exclusion of USD, then USD will be less in demand relative to bitcoin. Keep in mind one bitcoin is now worth more than $12 USD.

we could go to BTC 0.00000001 = $ 1,00 who knows...

in trade yes we need other fiat currency, but some day all you need is BTC  Wink

sooner or later..

359  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: PREDICT BIT COIN VALUE. on: November 24, 2012, 11:48:03 AM
My thoughts go something like;  Grin

The BTC economie, products and services u can buy with BTC at the moment is still in a premature stadium, and yet it is very succesful already.. Cheesy  ..

Do to this still lots of people never heard of it like some countries were the BTC will be the best thing they have heard in years do to economic and repression by government..

Some parts of the world still have to find out about it..parts were millions of people live as they become familiar with it it,s very likely to start using the BTC...so i say in a few years from now when BTC becomes more wide spread there will be a huge value rise because of the limited availability of BTC.. Wink so i think that the demand for BTC will become much more than the supply and that it will happen sooner or later.. So i,m in it for the long run..and will only sell to fiat if i could pay off my morgage at ones and than say goodbye to my bank forever.. ulimate freedom wish.. Wink

U must also keep in mind that we were living the past 4 years with a flood of BTC comming to us do to the 50BTC reward sys..the so called easy coins...this will be over..it will get harder to gain coins in a few months even when ASIC hit ...the people with the most money to invest will be the ones that get the most shares out of the  block rewards..

So the people sitting on there BTC will get tempted sooner or later to sell..

It,s like a poker game.. you go allin or you slow play but u will try to win anyway around... Wink

Ive been a member for several mounths myself.  Cantbelieve bitcoins are still going strong at over 12 US$.  Trying to figure out how people mine at over 100 Gh/s?

check the "Pictures of your minig rig" section and u will find out also many 100gh + rigs are made off multiple people pointing there rigs @ the same worker and share together and there are fpga devices doing 25gh alone so x 4 ..getit??

Good luck
