Another marketing fail, just like that exchange who had a similar name as Mt. Gox, lol. Anything that's replacing Mt. Gox is asking to fail, as they were a fail exchange...

Anyways, I hope they do a great job in employing simple and effective technologies to protect their customers funds. Sometimes people forget that Multisig addresses exist...
3402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia’s Unexplainable Stand On Bitcoin on: March 05, 2015, 10:10:18 PM
Russia's stand is pretty explainable. They see Bitcoin as a threat for their fragile economic situation... So they're trying to diss it.

Also, in Russia you don't buy coins, coins buy you... Wink
3403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blizzard creates own currency "WoW Gold" instead of using Bitcoin on: March 05, 2015, 10:05:48 PM
If I'm understanding well, this is an in-game currency, not run on a blockchain, right? If so, it makes total sense. Game studios have been doing it for years, tokens in exchange of certain levels, and people buy accounts with tokens...

Nothing new, and doesn't really have much to do with Bitcoin, in my opinion.

They are smart indeed. They probably have extremely cheap power... Mega profit for them, and profit for those who haven't got any ROI Smiley

3407  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2015-03-04 CNBC - Bitcoin’s golden moment on: March 04, 2015, 08:38:48 PM
Not really getting their graph. They seem to be saying that more transactions = decline in price because these transactions go to merchants who cash out for fiat. But not all things are this flat out.

Some merchants do not trade BTC to fiat, or they hold a % of BTC and cash out the rest. Also, most of these transactions aren't even probably going for merchants, or are aiding in product exchanges...

Thank you. I might be interested if you can tell me more or less the costs of shipping to Europe (not quite following your OP, but are you from the states?)
3409  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 2.0 release on: March 04, 2015, 08:20:33 PM
Hi unamis76,

I am the developer of amodem, and would be happy to help you with the installation.
Could you please run the following commands on your console (to make sure the package is installed correctly on your OS):

$ python -c "import platform; print(platform.platform())"
$ python -c "import amodem; print(amodem)"

Any tutorial to use amodem? It's says it isn't recognized on terminal after I install it...

Hello, thank you for your time in developing this tool. I saw the thread in which you presented this a while ago. Your reward was well deserved Wink

On to business: Altough it errors out on the console, amodem seems to be working directly inside electrum. I haven't had much time to fiddle with it, but it does broadcast the transaction audio. It still gives me an error on the console though.

Here's the output of what you requested

Code:
d*****@s*****:~$ python -c "import platform; print(platform.platform())"
Linux-3.13.0-32-generic-x86_64-with-Ubuntu-14.04-trusty
d****@s*****:~$ python -c "import amodem; print(amodem)"
<module 'amodem' from '/home/d****/.local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/amodem/__init__.pyc'>

Besides this, have you tried your tool with a Raspberry Pi? If so, can you recomend anything for audio input? Maybe a specific external/USB soundcard?

Thanks in advance Smiley

Although the fees are quite steep in most cases, I hope many regular ATM's support Bitcoin soon... It's a huge step forward to mainstream adoption.

I hope this comes to Europe ASAP
3411  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-03-03] TNW: Why Bitcoin is changing how banks do business on: March 04, 2015, 10:20:09 AM
Here come these banking guys again arguing things that do not make any sense

How much of their beloved fiat is counterfeit? How much of it is used to steal or traffic?

As for the news, yes, Banks are processing transactions for people who want to send fiat to exchanges... So I guess it does change their business, indirectly Cheesy

3414  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: [ANN] Armory 0.93 Official Release on: March 03, 2015, 11:27:42 AM
It's an online machine, and I used the Armory Installer

No x86 online for 0.93. Go back to 0.92.3 and wait for the next release for x86

Odd, your website lists 0.93 for Ubuntu 12.04+ (32bit), I thought your binaries would be compatible... Smiley

I guess I'll just install it on my 64 bit machine
3415  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: March 02, 2015, 08:37:41 PM
ETA?
Soon™

No more than 24 hours and the weekly bot will be live.

Good news, thank you Smiley

Are you trying to use Armory on this machine as an offline signer or to get online?

3417  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: [ANN] Armory 0.93 Official Release on: March 02, 2015, 05:48:59 PM
Tried installing 0.93 on Ubuntu 14.04 and it errored out saying it couldn't install python-gtk2:i386 and Ubuntu Software Center disappeared from my system, along with many apps (VirtualBox, Dropbox, Okular...), what am I missing?

You are using a 32bit OS?

Yes, I am
