Milan are going to have one of the opening games of the upcoming match week. It is against Salernitana and it is an easy work for them on paper. But they need to be aware throughout the game not for letting their opponent make a surprise. Salernitana are better than the previous season now so they would play fearlessly home against Milan as well I assume.
If Milan win this without problem then they can wait for the Inter - Napoli game very comfortably. A draw at the end of it would be the best for Milan in my opinion.

Marseille - Toulouse was such an interesting game honestly.
Because the statistics are telling the person who looks at it like it was a competitive game. But the final result doesn't say that at all. This 6-1 victory must be a huge help for Marseille mentally. They already beat Lyon and Monaco before this game and this victory would make them concentrated on their league games even more. They are out of the Champions League as they finished the group stage at the last position. They need to focus on their Ligue 1 games to finish the season at the 2nd position at worst.

Liverpool are finally back strong in the Premier League. Now their next game is going to be against Leicester. Leicester are in a pretty bad shape these days unfortunately. I was really hopeful about them to continue on their recovery process but they were not like on the field against Newcastle. This is another very tough game for them because I expect Liverpool to have the full control of the game in Anfield.
I'm expecting a win by 2 goals for Liverpool. They did it against Aston Villa and they can do this in this one as well. There have been some very competitive games between them and Leicester recently though. But I still believe in Liverpool about this.

Chelsea are reported to have made an offer for Enzo Fernandez.
It was obvious that some big teams were going to go after him especially after his World Cup performance. Chelsea's offer is said to be like 115 million pounds which is an enormous amount really. I don't know if Chelsea are really ready to pay this much for him now. But it might be real because they have made their transfers for the attacking line already as it seems. It might be time for improving the midfield now. But signing Fernandez won't be easy for them because I expect some other big teams to join the race.

Barcelona should keep Depay or find a replacement for him if they are eager to part their ways with him in January already. Because Lewandowski won't have a striker as a replacement for himself if he Depay leaves. I know that there are players like Ferran Torres who can play there but it wouldn't be the same effect certainly.
This is important for them not only in the La Liga but also here. The Europa League title must be among their targets in the end. They need to keep the team strong for that.

It was a clear victory by Manchester City indeed. They completely deserved this 3-1 win.
The first half was under the control of them completely. Leeds started to find more chances in the second half but this didn't prevent Manchester City from winning this game comfortably. Haaland was again superb with his 2-goal performance. He is giving his 100% for the team no matter what tournament they are playing in. He is just focused on his game to do always better. He has scored 20 goals in the league already.

Bayern Munich are really good at discovering new young talents and they are not the type that sells such players easily after their values increase by a high rate. They would rather have this kind of players in the starting eleven to secure their future at the same time. Their aim is to become champions as many as possible in the end.
They are already making a lot of money from championships and the Champions League as well. They don't need to act like Dortmund I mean. But as for Dortmund I don't think they will change their vision for long years as well. They are making a great profit already in selling players.

This week seems to be like a chance for Atletico Madrid to get a comfortable win and take a deep breath. Because Elche are like the worst team in the league at the moment. Besides Atletico Madrid have a very dominant history against Elche as well. It's like all the variables are showing that Atletico Madrid must win this comfortably.
However I still doubt whether a win here would be helpful for them to have a better season from now on. Because Simeone's old tactics don't work much anymore.

It wasn't an easy game at all for Monaco today. Auxerre resisted them really well and Monaco barely scored the winning goal in the last minutes and won by 3-2. Ben Seghir was amazing even though it was his first appearance with Monaco in the league this season. He entered the game at the beginning of the second half and scored 2 goals.
He is only 17 years old and this must be a really specialy moment for the youngster. He has drawn all the attention to himself already.

There is not much time to go for the Leeds - Manchester City game. Obviously Manchester City side is the favourite to beat their opponent. I don't think this game will be a competitive one as well. Manchester City didn't end the first half of the season well because of a loss. They will surely want to make up for that by getting a solid win here.
Leeds are a team that don't have a strong defense line. I don't think they can resist Manchester City much. I think Manchester City will win by at least two goals.

At least, Union Berlin made a difference even if it was just a few weeks. their work ethic is extraordinary, even with mediocre players. they played their matches with enthusiasm and hard work, and unfortunately their struggle had to be stopped coupled with a fairly busy match schedule. in the end, Union Berlin slipped and had to settle for 5th place in the Bundesliga standings. December is coming to an end, and the Bundesliga will soon be rolling again. I doubt Union Berlin will be able to improve their game again. in fact, to maintain its ranking in the Bundesliga standings must be paid with hard work. IMO, most likely Union Berlin's ranking will be overtaken by Dortmund. in fact, I'm quite optimistic, Dortmund will finish in the top four until the end of this season, provided they don't sell some of their core players.
Dortmund wouldn't part ways with their crucial players in January. Even if they sign an agreement with a team they would be okay to only sending players by the end of the season. Otherwise it would be a big problem for them in the rest of the season. They need those players to have a good season in the Bundesliga and Champions League both. But it seems like they will lose Bellingham in the first place. It is very difficult for them to keep him as long as the player wants so. However Dortmund are accustomed to these scenarios and this is their business model in the end. |

Everton are doing their best to convince and finish a contract extension with Jordan Pickford these days. He is expected to extend his contract by 5 years. It is said that he was already agreeing to this deal before the World Cup. Therefore Everton are hoping him not to change his mind while there are some other big teams monitoring him currently.
These teams are Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham. I don't know if Tottenham need a goalkeeper now. However especially Manchester United might need one if they don't sign a new deal with De Gea. Pickford would be a great replacement.

It was really good to see solid performances by Chelsea and Manchester United both today. Both of them had very comfortable games on paper but I still had worries about Chelsea. Because their recent performance hasn't been persuasive for me to believe in them 100%. However they completely dominated the game and deserved the win.
Bournemouth are one of the worst teams of the league maybe. But Chelsea were really bad for a long time before this game so this was a really impressive performance. I hope Potter has find out what to do to help this team climb to upper positions.

It was such a one-sided game by Fenerbahçe against Hatayspor today. They were in full control of the game from the beginning to the end. This 4-0 victory will be very important for the players to recover quickly after the Trabzonspor game. Rossi made 2 assists today and Batshuayi also continues to score goals. His performance at Besiktas wasn't even close to this.
Indeed the Sivasspor game might be tough for Galatasaray. They don't have a good history against Sivasspor in away games. They won only once for a long time. This might be an opportunity for Fenerbahce to take the lead back.

Betis and Athletic Bilbao have almost the same odds for the win.
But it is totally normal of course. Because these teams are very close to each other in the standings. They have very similar statistics expect the number of goals scored. Athletic Bilbao have been more productive about that so far. But I think they will have big difficulties in this game as for scoring multiple goals. I'm expecting a more controlled game from both sides. My expectation is a draw with goals like 1-1 as well. I don't expect Betis to lose here by benefiting from home stadium advantage.

It is going to be really disappointing to see one of the biggest favourites of the Europa League being eliminated already. Barcelona and Manchester United should have faced each other in the later stages of the tournament. However it is good for us at the same time. Because the Europa League is going to be back with an amazing matchup which is like a finale.
It is quite difficult to be sure of anything about a side to advance for now. We should see how these teams will perform after this break first. Maybe one of the sides won't be able to continue from where they left off.

Arsenal deserves all the appreciation for sure. Their comeback from a 0-1 disadvantage to 3-1 lead was amazing to watch honestly.
It was another proof of how strong the relationship among the players is right now. The team performance is so good that they are still playing very well and staying productive in the absence of Gabriel Jesus on the front. Nketiah did a good job today by scoring a goal while most people weren't giving much chance to him. Saka was there to wake up the team as always by scoring the first goal. It looks like Arsenal are still the same despite the long break.
If Arsenal keeps on going like this they might have a chance to win the title, but I want City to win the League title. City played one game less than Arsenal and two games less Newcastle. A couple of draws and a loss from Arsenal and City will get to the top of the table. Saka was impressive in the match, especially his extraordinary performance in the World Cup. Of course, if you are a Manchester City fan it is totally normal that you want them to be the champions. I'm not a fan of any team in this league but I really would like to see Arsenal making it to the league title this season. Because it has been such a long time since they became the champions the last time. We are watching Arsenal this much strong for the first time after long years. Even this long break didn't cause Arsenal players to become complacent. Maybe they were shocked by a goal first but it wasn't the first time they made a comeback like this in this season. I'm starting to believe they deserve the title as much as Manchester City now. |

I think Depay should stay definitely. Aubameyang has already been sold and I don't think it is a good idea to get rid of Depay especially before finding a replacement for him. Because in this case there won't be any striker as Lewandowski's substitute. If Depay leaves in January they will need to make a move for another striker.
Depay is still a good choice from the subs indeed. He can still make contribution by goals or assists. He hasn't lost his quality completely yet. He is just not valued as much as in the past anymore especially after Lewandowski's arrival.

I think it depends on whether Tottenham have a successful season for Conte to think of staying for longer. If they don't get better this season then I think Conte can think of leaving the team seriously. Especially if some big Italian team make an offer to him this probability would increase even more. For now there are just rumours from time to time.
Conte actually did a good job with Tottenham before. But these days things aren't working well for the team. They still continue to lose points which causes them to get away more from the title race in the EPL.

I have not yet seen any team that can compete with Bayern Munich, as for the first position no other team can get it. Union Berlin had opportunity for the first position but they couldn't maintain it. Bayern Munich shows more quality and good performance than other Bundesliga team.
Union Berlin has done a great job in the 1st Bundesliga so far. They will nott be able to play at a high level the whole season. If they finish at the end of this eseason in the top 5, then they can be really proud of themselves. With the load of Bundesliga, DFB Cup and international games they have done the best so far. Union Berlin made a really good start but they were so inadequate to maintain a good effort later on. They don't have a very impressive squad of course but they had a really good team spirit at first. It is always difficult to resist Bayern Munich's pressure but Union Berlin just gave the lead to them by themselves actually. Because they started a terrible form and it lasted very long. It was too difficult for them to keep the lead in the meantime. From now on they can at least fight for top 4. It isn't impossible as long as they make the same effort at the beginning of the season. |
