Wilder's apparently taken a vow of silence. He has not been heard of in a long time. Fury and his promoters say they no longer have any obligation to have the trilogy fight and are now looking for a new opponent to prepare for him for facing Anthony Joshua next year. I don't think Wilder's team will put up a legal fight to try and force the rematch to happen next. Wilder is still a top 3 heavyweight so his chance will come up again.
I think the cancellation of the third fight would be on Wilder's advantage because he need to but some time to bring back the confidence in him as he was battered on their last fight. AFAIK, the rematch clause has expiration so i don't think the camp of Wilder will take a legal action here. Definitely it will be a big advantage for Wilder so that finally he can reset his mind first and have some confidence before facing Fury again in this trilogy. Yes there is a stipulation that a rematch clause could end, but the thing is that when they outline it prior, there's no pandemic or something, so again, maybe the next time that those boxing lawyers or promoted a rematch clause, maybe they have to think about this kind of scenario. Thanks for the update, I was wondering if a 2 minute game would make a huge difference for both fighters? but anyway as long as I've seen them on the ring again that's fine. Let's just hope this would not result to any serious damage to both fighters since they will not use a protective gear.
I've read that kind of concern many times in this thread, but I believe they will be alright, they themselves understand that they are not fighting for belt, this is just an exhibition fight, people wants to see them still healthy after the fight while expecting some kind of entertainment too. Just trust them, they know what they are doing, they've been in the business for many years. Good point and for sure they are being prepared by their respective doctors and training camps. They are not young in age but the desire to bring entertainment and those old glory days. We will see those old blow, those old power punch to be thrown, as it can't be controlled knowing that this two boxers are really good at it. But at the end of the day, the fight mostly for bringing entertainment and not to push the K.O they are aware that both fighters needs to stay being healthy after this fight and enjoy what would be the compensation that will be raised for both of them. Golden State Warriors is the team that everyone will look in for the next season. Just as they say, they will "come back stronger". Actually, it could be any other team where these champs would probably be traded. No team is weak for me but only underrated. I think most teams are going to be interested next season. I'm actually hoping for Curry to at least still have his game back since some point guards that comes out of injury really messes up their play style. Some guards at first were really aggressive but suddenly changed because of their injuries. Although for Curry, his shot is the most important thing about his play style and that might carry their team into another playoffs. Lets hope that it wont happen to him and would able to showcase his 3 point shooting and ball handling skills on next season. There are indeed players who do really get hesitated to give out their best plays once they had experienced some injuries. This is somewhat an psychological issue since you do know that your body had past injuries then you will surely be minding to be careful into your next games to avoid such scenario again. GSW is a strong team specially if their star players would step in their foot to the court once again. This is not the first time Curry was injured, he always come back so expect this one would be easy for him considering the injury wasn't really too serious compared to Thompson's injury, we will certainly see the same Curry here with a different set of teammates. That's a very good point, they probably need a big payday prior to their retirement, you know life after boxing is different as they have to work outside boxing or manage their business, that is provided they have good savings or have invested from what they earn during their boxing career.
I guess whoever lose this fight might struggle to find a big fight if he still want to continue fighting, so it's a big fight for both it needs to be big that would satisfy their wallets.
This is maybe the reason why they moved the fight date and hoping that they will get money from the gate, if in case they will be allowed to accept live audience. That's another revenue for the match. Boxing is really not a forever career. At some point, the boxer needs to stop and just live on whatever he made during his boxing career.
