361  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 8 official specs released on: December 19, 2017, 11:54:51 PM
Nice spec and power draw but all depends on the price.
Not ordered Avalon before so if you were ordering a lot would you take their own sorcerer power supply or get your own in country?

Aren't the new Avalons coming with built in power supplies?

-M

No, that was just the special 761 they made for China only.

Looks like Canaan has some more specs on the A8 up: https://canaan.io/product/avalonminer-821/

Hope to pick a few of these up and get my TH/s up there towards the top of the stats.

It'll be interesting to see what happens tomorrow when Ebit and Canaan release their new model specs.
364  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: December 19, 2017, 12:11:36 AM
Nice.  Smiley

Thanks for helping, colleaque!

It will be interesting to see both Ebit E10 and AvalonMiner 821 official announcements in December 20, and compare those machines with each other.

Wasn't ebit the ASIC designer for Avalon before? I wonder if they collaborated on the designs of the new chip. Seems pretty strategic they're both announcing their new machines on the same day.
365  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon A7 announced on: December 18, 2017, 03:26:20 PM
When will we have specifications of the new Avalon S8?

Thank you

They already said December 20th is their target.
366  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do you trust the Chinese shippers on AliBaba? on: December 18, 2017, 03:24:34 PM
No - alibaba is like ebay. Anyone can sell on there, and without trade assurance, there is nothing to prevent them from scamming you.

Assuming you have proper hubs that provide sufficient power, anyone know how many you can connect to 1 Windows 10 System?

Same question, how many to a RPI?

Thanks.

Windows has some stupid limits with how many USB ports it can detect. I've had it run fine with 25, but then complain when i hook up another 50 port hub to it.

I've ran 42 on an Pi in testing, hooked up with 2 49 port hubs.

Hi,

hello, I'm mining a scrypt currency other than litecoin and it throws me the following details (Red letters). They are fine?

my configuration is

bfgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://178.238.235.246:3032 -u MKWbNv911VHa1Tmzo8FkW1vmrBDSLBcWTQ -p x,d=128  -S MLD:all --set MLD:clock=600
pause

You should add the #skipcbcheck to the parameter to the pool:

o stratum+tcp://178.238.235.246:3032#skipcbcheck

Can someone please let me know why my posts offering to resell my Moonlanders keeps getting deleted or point to the right place where I can offer them for sale?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=75.0 is the spot to sell miners

I just hit a new best of 25k!

What else is everyone seeing as their best?
371  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon A7 announced on: December 15, 2017, 04:32:54 PM
I'm guessing the 761 is just for them to use up their inventory of the old chips.
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Moonlander 2 Driver and Support Thread on: December 14, 2017, 11:45:49 PM

Still bfgminer is stuck with 99% CPU workload on XP SP3 32bit.... Sad

I managed to install Bodhi Linux but I´m completely overchallenged in installing... anything?

It would be so, so, so, so..... cool being able to use my Windows XP device.... Is there any hope you might take a look at least? Smiley

Could you try to install Ubuntu? I know Ubuntu runs on lots of older hardware..

I'm about to get in line for star wars, but I've told the miners that they better find some blocks by the time the movie is done, or else!
374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Moonlander 2 Driver and Support Thread on: December 14, 2017, 09:02:36 PM

No its 21 SHA256 shares which are 2^16 larger than scrypt shares. bfgminer was coded for bitcoin originally so this was never updated. I should probably update bfgminer's front end to differentiate between scrypt and SHA256 shares visual wise, but thats something for when I have spare time...which I have zero of these days :/

71m/27m is "milli" shares i.e. .0071/.0027 * 2^16 ~ 465/177 scrypt shares

I remember cgminer used to say the same thing when mining with my GPUs back in 2014, so I knew there was a difference in it. Thanks again!
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Moonlander 2 Driver and Support Thread on: December 14, 2017, 08:58:44 PM
So this is a noob question, but I'm pretty new to mining with BFGMiner.

BS is Best Share, right? If it says 21, but the log reports an accepted for 71m/27m, shouldn't best share be 71?

Or does the m mean something other than "mega" like it would in cgminer?

Yeah, I confused scrypt with cgminer SHA256 values.

27m is the same as .027 if you're converting it to SHA256. So, 21 is a greater value than .027. m means milli (1/1000th).

Big M like 3.03M I think means million (as in network difficulty of LiteCoin).

Thanks! That helps a lot. Would be awesome if I was getting 126M shares instead of 126m shares Smiley

New driver working well on Win10

378  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who likes pod miners? on: December 14, 2017, 04:23:50 PM
Maybe one of these days I'll get the firmware finished up. The guy I handed the job off to still hasn't finished, and 2Pac manufacture leading up to Christmas has been seriously kicking my butt. But I've got a good crew and things'll slow down soon, so I'm hoping to open up at least one day a week specifically for R&D. Finally get some stuff done. In addition to the BM1384 Terminus pod, I've got two CNC builds, some other machinery, Bitfury design and a new stick idea piling up. Starting to run out of back burners.

But we'll get caught up here soon.

Those Bitfury designs will be awesome!

Irrelevant without a product to ship
Preorder is available on asicpuppy

You just replied to the guy who makes these devices. He would know if he had made them or not.

It says it has the same chip in it as the 741
A3212
https://canaan.io/product/avalonminer-741/

Thanks, Kano! Maybe this is their way to clear out their old chips while also releasing the new miner on the new chip.
