361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will these coins survive 5 years? on: November 29, 2021, 10:20:39 PM
I think that you should diversify away from the coins that people seem to be crazy about right now.

AVAX, Cardano and ETH are pretty much all competitors of one another and you are not going to gain a lot of exposure to DeFi or NFTs through this allocation.

Put some more funds into small caps and diversify to around ~10 coins.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the fate of SHIBA Inu, is this the end of the Road? on: November 29, 2021, 10:14:28 PM
One of the most trending meme coin #Shiba Inu and Doge coin competitor has closed 4 day candle stick on Red now...the downward trend even looks more terrifying.

What's going on, any expert Technical Analyst on this one? Please, I would like to hear our opinions on this one.

Shiba has absolutely zero reason to be in the top 100 crypto list.

Expect the downtrend to continue. Prices have already halved from the ATH and I think that they will continue this direction.

You might be able to pull some profits through short term speculation, but definitely don't hold this one for the long term.

Regarding the Lakers, honestly I don't know what's going on, LeBron, AD, Westbrook, DeAndre Jordan, Melo and others players, with this roster, LAL was supposed to be "a monster" and all the other teams were afraid to play against them. But unfortunately I don't see it, I don't see so much chemistry or introverted with players.
In my humble opinion, I believe LJ could stand out more, AD I also think his performance is underwhelming and a player I thought could be a key player for the Lakers, Deandre Jordan, I realize he's not. having that old-time performance!

It's a badly put together group of aging all-stars, that's why.

Maybe 5 years ago if you assembled the same team it would be considered a super-team, but pretty much everyone involved (apart from AD) are way past their primes.
That would not happen 5 years ago as Lebron could not afford the players who are still at their prime.
It's their first season together, lots of changes in the team so we should understand the struggle, besides, the season is still ongoing, it's still early so they can still continue working to do the right blend. Just be optimistic, they'll figure it out eventually, believe me.

If you need Carmelo to be carrying your team when LBJ is away... You're in deep trouble.
Why would you need Carmelo if the team has Westbrook who is an All-Star and previously won an MVP and a Triple double machine?

They've had 20 games and they're exactly .500. If that's not a disappointment I don't know what is.

Westbrook is as inefficient of a scorer as they come, sir. He's proven time and time again in the playoffs that he is not to be relied on as a primary option.

What happens when LBJ goes down? Are you counting on Westbrook to post them to the finals? I wouldn't be optimistic.
364  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitcoinArena.net - a new bitcoin casino review website on: November 29, 2021, 09:41:35 PM
Seems like that you've only listed 6 casinos and one that I've never heard of before is at the top of the list?

You probably need to scour the internet for a bit more resources before you claim that you have all the best casinos.

Where is Stake/PD, Bitsler, and all the trusted ones that have been here for a while?

366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling Court on: November 29, 2021, 09:35:41 PM
-snip-

Not only the costs of regulation would be the problem but the jurisdiction of these courts must be adhered by the parties in question. Like what I previously mentioned, the power of these courts can only be recognized if countries signed to be bound as such. If a country ignores this, then this would render its effect somehow useless.

Like what was also mentioned, this is a noble idea in which it contained pure and innocent intentions but the implementation of this is just impossible for the time being. I just hope that there would be another solution which can be compromised from this idea.

Yeah, exactly.

The intentions are great but pragmatically this is never going to happen.

I recall that there was a thing called the Crypto Gambling Foundation before that tried to serve as an arbitrator, but I think that their site doesn't work now. Anyone know what happened to them?
367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🔻 List of Casinos and Sportbooks to Avoid on: November 29, 2021, 10:02:11 AM
Probably should put BitVest on there, or at least the warning section.

They have had significant issues with both their signature campaigns and hot wallets for quite a while now and the owner doesn't seem to be coming back to resolve any issues.

777Coin as well given that it is the sister site of Bitvest.
368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling Court on: November 29, 2021, 09:16:26 AM
Certainly a noble suggestion but I’m not sure anything like this could actually be set up. I feel they are currently ran the way they are, overall, in a way that benefits each outlet to the extent of the law that benefits all parties. I’m not sure if what I’m trying to get across makes sense here, but I just don’t see enough stink being able to be put up to make change happening.

Agreed.

Certainly not feasible as a long term solution.

It takes money and resources to keep a court up and running and it requires all the major operators to buy into this thing. Otherwise, it's just going to look like a foolish exercise given that no one will respect its decisions.
369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 29, 2021, 09:04:32 AM
The Warriors are really an unstoppable force.

Steph is playing out of his mind and making everyone around him so much better than they otherwise would be.

Wiggins has found a new life to revive his #1 pick career, and Jordan Poole seems like Michael Jordan out there. They are a serious contender.
370  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat banks and the government. on: November 29, 2021, 09:00:34 AM
They are all part of the same ecosystem.

The fiat system is inevitably linked with the current political system, which is based on centralization.

They do not like the idea of bitcoin decentralizing the control away from them, which is why there are so many AML/KYC restrictions placed upon BTC related transactions.

Hi all, can you suggest a bookmaker that accepts bitcoin prediction bets?

Check out this site: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5360391.0

Not sure about how legit they are though and there are no guarantees because they are so young.

But I've seen some good reviews and they certainly offer a ton of leverage so at least on that front they are quite an attractive service.
372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice or slot, Horse 🐎 ride on: November 29, 2021, 08:37:00 AM
Am new onboard and will want to know which game to play on that can have less risk and small House edge, am familiar with the three games slot that used to be my favorite but I also play dice in my spare time. I want to master on one of them so I will pay close attention to one that is fair enough so which one do you think I should play on.

Definitely go with dice.

Slots have a lot lower RTP (a measure for how much your expected return is for each dollar that you gamble) than slots in general. Especially when you combine the effects of bonuses and affiliate programs.

They might have fancier graphics and be a bit more entertaining, but that's about it.
373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 27, 2021, 12:27:06 AM
Some hilarious memes on twitter right now. Everyone is roasting Zion Williamson being now cleared for full basketball duties. They’re saying he’s out now due to thanksgiving to make fun of his massive weight gain. I just hope he doesn’t blow out his knees when he does come back carrying all that extra weight. I figured his weight issues would catch up to him quick because of his frame and age, but I hoped we’d get a good playoff run out of him first.

I don't care for all the additional slander, but that man needs to get in shape asap.

It's for his own good, and as you said, even if he is able to play for the Pels I wouldn't let him if I was management - just because of the added injury risk that is very real.

With all due respect, you get in shape to play basketball, not the other way around.
374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling Court on: November 26, 2021, 11:36:24 PM
There have been so many accusations and counter-accusations on the subject matter of fraud so many players have come out with evidence of scams against some sites while the operator of those sites come up with counter-accusations that players violated their T&C.
I think it will be proper if an online accredited court is set up to judge such cases, rather than leaving them uncensored.

Where does the funding come from?

Who will be the enforcer?

There are simply way too many legal and logistical overheads for this idea to work, imho. The best that we can do in this direction is really industry self-regulation, which is probably not necessarily the best thing.
375  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat banks and the government. on: November 20, 2021, 12:50:58 AM
A recent situation in my country where the banks have been instructed to block accounts related/associated with crypto trading has prompted me to start thinking if these banks are actually happy carrying out government policies against their customers, because some of them seem not too happy about it but look to have little or no choice on the matter.

I think that they are secretly happy about this, even though to the clients they obviously have to appear as if they are forced against their will to do this.

It's simple. Crypto and DeFi pose a real risk to traditional finance, and right now, regulation is working in the favor of these banks.

Quote
Can the banks challenge the policies from the government? Are the banks working for the people or the government? is there any possibility that banks can operate freely entirely from government policies?

Well, technically they could. But why would they risk their relationship with the government for their clients?

To answer your last question - that is why DeFi exists and why it's important that we continue to spread this message.
376  Economy / Economics / Re: Preparing for the future. on: November 20, 2021, 12:33:10 AM
Yeah, expect a lot more techy and creative roles to be remunerated well in comparison to professional services.

A lot of people who initially wanted to go into investment banking or private equity are redirecting their intelligence to learning computer science, which is definitely a good bet.

But I do think that an understanding of economics and finance will be crucial as well. The future of innovation in tech will be with Fintech.
377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 20, 2021, 12:20:54 AM
Warriors is like a well-oiled machine and they are playing with talent but more importantly they are team playing which is the greatest threat to every team. They are so good all together that you forget about CURRY, which I know is insane but watch them, everyone wants to defend Curry then they play the ball around so much that you forget to check Curry for a milisecond and dude is running around so much and finds open space once again. It is really something amazing to watch, it is basketball as it should be played and I really love to see their musical play style.

You're right. The Warriors have become much better as a team especially compared to the previous season. By the way, I wonder how their game will change when Thompson comes back. As far as I know, Klay has been already playing 5 on 5 during practices. I assume that he will be able to return in 2-3 weeks, although there is still no exact date of his return.

It's going to be scary, man.

Klay is a great player and a central piece to the Warriors identity, but the best thing about him is that he doesn't need the ball in his hands to make an immediate impact.

He brings a lot more championship potential given the reunion of Steph, Klay and Draymond from their earlier championship run.

The people helping Steph win games right now don't necessarily have that, despite their great record so far.

Beyond excited for his return.
378  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [11-15-2021]WSJ - Bitcoin Creator Satoshi Nakamoto Could Be Unmasked at FL Trial on: November 20, 2021, 12:06:00 AM
What a bunch of baloney.

This might just be another publicity stunt to further the narrative that CSW is the creator of bitcoin when he obviously isn't.

The mainstream media really needs to abandon the obsession with trying to find Satoshi and fuelling this circus. It is not particularly crucial to BTC adoption, development, or anything of that nature, so why bother with it?
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Play-to-Earn games on ETH: What's the catch? on: November 19, 2021, 11:56:46 PM
I see hype surrounding Play-to-Earn games (P2E) lately, just because it brings a new income stream to gamers. Many people are greedy, so they recur to blockchain-based games with the hopes of making big bucks in return. While P2E sounds promising, it's limited to the underlying blockchain network's capacity. I sometimes wonder what's the catch of games which "give away money for free", since fees on ETH are so high right now. How does the game generate revenue by itself? I suppose it's not out of thin air. We'll have to see how this will play out during an extended bearish market. Most probably, P2E will fail just like ICOs back in 2017.

Thoughts? Huh

I think that it is definitely overhyped.

There is very little utility that you can bring out of a decentralized P2E game like Axie Infinity in my opinion, but with the current NFT hype it does make sense for people to play it.

Once this reward mechanism ceases to exist, I think that the projects in this space will die down. Just like a lot of the ICO projects back in 2017.
380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slot forecast on: November 19, 2021, 11:38:13 PM
Slot is one of the most preferred gaming game in most casino houses and online gambling platforms but one of it major defector is the fact that players can not give an accurate forecast of the outcome of the game and how the probably fair system works in favor of the house. Apart from dice that it outcome can easily be predicted slot on the other hand is unpredictable.

And can you predict dice outcomes?

Dice is just as random as slots if that is what you're wondering.

And no, there is no way that you are able to actually profit off slots in the long run, because the RTP to the player is always going to be <100% for the sake of the profitability of the house! It's all inbuilt to the game and there is nothing wrong with that.
