361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GEMZ] GetGems - Social Messaging App That Pays - Live on Android and iOS on: November 17, 2015, 10:43:11 AM
I think what you might not be getting is Gemz doesn't need to be part of PAYKEY at all...I mean once it becomes a white label application. I hate to be crude but the Getgems team don't need to care about gemz as a currency. They would receive their income from banks using their technology and possibly a cut from payments...possibly the 5% mentioned in the presentation. And I honestly think you are living in a bubble to think banks need to care about BTC let alone gems.....they don't....they only need fiat.

Bottom line, if there are multiple ways to use PAYKEY across platforms then getgems with Paykey has almost no chance of gaining any significant market share. Hey even FB could give get people signed up to their version which then can used across other platforms.

I guess I saw the vision as Venmo but better and included BTC and Gems as payment options.......starting to think I was wrong.

yeap...figured i was missing out the details concerning 'white label application'.

as for bottom line, i can only agree IF banks walk off with the tech and build something similar (as mentioned earlier by you already). but if all the banks care about is just 'sending fiat', then its still fine. firstly, we must not forget the limitations of a keyboard app. how much further can it be developed? there can only be so many functions in/on a keyboard app. Unless of course the banks decide to build an app like GETGEMS (without any social aspect), then the only concern will be if they decide to copy GETGEMS' Attention Economy - AdSpace and Advertisers, viewing ads to earn, etc. secondly, provided they don't copy GETGEMS' Attention Economy, users and advertisers will still flock to GETGEMS for the Attention Economy and Monetary gains. so i don't see any other problems. Thirdly, as for GETGEMS having their own version of PayKey to allow fiat transfers, that's a problem that all altcoin faces. Bitcoin only just overcame this hurdle. So i won't give any comment on this but my focus will be on the Attention Economy.

ehh...provided FB is doing something akin to Attention Economy. really...Attention Economy is one of the crucial components. we cannot overlook this particular aspect. As long as the banks or FB or WeChat or Whatsapp or whoever and whatever don't have Attention Economy, they are gonna lose out. Even if they can start developing their own version of PayKey (never mind an app like GETGEMS since they got that already), there's already lots of competition with regards to "sending money". i don't see how the idea alone (sending fiat) is so that important over Attention Economy. because its an old idea that is just getting easier and better over the years ahead.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GEMZ] GetGems - Social Messaging App That Pays - Live on Android and iOS on: November 17, 2015, 09:35:32 AM
I'm not really questioning your personal belief in Bitcoin. What I'm saying is can you confirm paykey with getgems will have fiat.....I'm not arguing against fiat...I'm actually arguing FOR it.. I'm worried getgems is being sidelined for a more robust banking app with PAYKEY.

And also I would add are you sure you want to provide PAYKEY as white label? It seems to me like you are giving banks a way to completely bypass Bitcoin altogether. I mean would they have to use btc in their version of paykey? Why give them this backdoor? Why not build Paykey to your specifications and if they want to be part of it have to work through you not walk off with the tech and build something similar?

I think your should really Omit the word getgems from the app. Simply Paykey is better and less confusing, I mean what does getgems mean to most average user? Surely Paykey is a simple app to build out from. And the if say a bank wanted to use Paykey in their tech they can just add 'powered' by Paykey. Cause what I can see happening is a 'Citi Pay' comes through Citibank or any bank and gives their customers a way to pay across social networks and where will Paykey with getgems app be then?.........hint. nowhere.

Banks are not going to use bitcoin or gems, paykey for them will be fiat only. Paykey for getgems and the getgems app we use now will have bitcoin and gems support.

Only paykey for getgems and getgems app will have attention economy which require gems to buy ads and paykey for banks wont have this feature. So there are differences.

glad to hear that Advertisers must and only purchase GEMZ in order to show their ads. otherwise, its game over.

PayKey and Banks?
as for the matter on developing a different kind of PayKey App for others (banks, etc), sounds like the technology of PayKey will be Custom Build for the sole purpose of said banks' own use to better serve their customers. And customers who use their Custom Build Version of PayKey won't enjoy ANY of the Attention Economy stuff like view ads to earn, etc.

if i am not wrong, for a bank to use PayKey Technology, it sounds like its simply trying to take advantage of all social networks + payment apps and skipping the whole "be a part of a social network" or "download this app or that app" just to pay/send money. INSTEAD, empower the smartphone user by giving them the ability to send money to another mobile user. To put it crudely, its like taking out Payment out of the Social Platform (e.g. Facebook) or App Platform (e.g. any app that can send money) and putting it on a much larger platform (smartphone platform). In other words, Daniel is taking this Payment thing to the next level, a much bigger level and also breaking down/bypassing a few barriers (social platform/app platform). It is really groundbreaking come to further think about it. PayKey alone is an awesome idea.

Impact/Effect for GETGEMS
Problem is when we have GETGEMS in the picture and making sure that GETGEMS flourishes when PayKey gets Custom Build for others, to have a win-win situation can be a bit difficult to comprehend this - how will everything work out in the end?

Also, concerning sending fiat from one contact/user to another, will this be a problem for the banks to address and not for Daniel and his team? i am just afraid there might be a loophole somewhere in this GEMZ Economy and Flow. But guess not as already mentioned above by reRaise. would be great if Daniel and his team can go deep into this with full details.

In any case, if more banks employ PayKey Techonology, it only adds to GETGEMS reputation and it goes to show how great PayKey alone is. And it will just be even better to use PayKey for GETGEMS + GETGEMS.

Impact/Effect for Bitcoin
As for Bitcoin, i dunno if this will have any negative impact/effect for Bitcoin. I mean, sure...sending fiat is sending fiat. But it still lacks the crypto aspects of a crytocurrency. where's the decentralized public ledger and Maths Security stuff? So i guess it doesn't exactly or directly have a negative impact. However in the long run, it may just be possible to have an opposite effect - the banks will be pressured to put Bitcoin in and even GETGEMS when Bitcoin/GETGEMZ rises.

Conclusion
I do not know what is Daniel's and his team's intentions/goals are, like maybe they approach banks and say "hey, look at this, with this you can have an edge over your direct and indirect competitors." And then afterwards, they get enticed to completely switch to GETGEMS Version of PayKey when Bitcoin/GETGEMS are doing extremely well.  Cheesy

Hoping that Daniel and his team have all this...extremely thoroughly well thought out and brainstormed. there must not be a single loophole or some unforeseen circumstance in the future that could setback on the use of GETGEMS app + GEMZ.

Is there anything that i have miss out?

364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★DigiByte|极特币★★[DGB]✔$250k Investment, DigiByte Gaming, #DigiByteTip, DigiSpeed on: November 15, 2015, 04:58:12 PM
The first time I heard about Digibyte was in an article in a Dutch newspaper NRC.next. Since I always had a looming interest in crypto-currencies, I decided to start reading more about Digibyte and other crypto-currencies. The thing which really triggered my interested in Digibyte specifically, was the 'real-life' application using the Tofugear omni-platform. In order for Digibyte (and other crypto-currencies) to succeed and be accepted by the mainstream public it needs to be better in two criteria than current fiats: 1. speed and 2. ease of use.

Last Friday I visited the store of the House of Blue Jeans of 24hralttrade to experience 'shopping in the future' made possible by the Tofugear platform and the House of Blue Jeans. 24hralttrade showed me the possibilities and I was quite impressed. Especially the realtime analytics behind the platform is something which is very interesting for retailers themselves (stock/supply wise, but also the feedback of why certain products are taken out of the shelf often, but do not get bought). When I had to pay with Digibyte, it worked just as fast as when I would have paid by debit card. Therefore Digibyte already fulfills the first criterion (although it will have to meet this criterion when volume increases when more people start to use it - it should match at least the speed of other fiats when it's scaled). Even though Digibyte is only a (small) part of the Tofugear platform, the real life experience in the House of Blue Jeans convinced me even more of why Digibyte is a very interesting crypto-currency.

Coming to the second criterion; the ease of use. In the shop it was actually easy to pay with Digibyte, if you had everything set up (Digibyte Wallet on your phone). The most difficult part was actually when I decided I wanted to buy some Digibytes. Being new to crypto-currencies in general, I had to figure out everything about crypto-currencies. Even though the Digibyte website helped me somewhat with their explanation on the website on how to get Digibytes, I think there is room for improvement. Couple of suggestions:

1. Add an option for a real web-wallet (just like coinbase), where I only have to setup an account instead of installing stuff. I have a bank account online, why no Digibyte account?
2. When I wanted to buy Digibytes, I first had to find an exchange where I could buy Digibytes. That means I had to make an additional account on that exchange (= extra effort = less ease of use). In addition, I first had to buy bitcoin, since I can only buy Digibyte with bitcoin on most exchanges (at least the ones I check out). I don't want bitcoin, I want Digibyte for my euros! :-)

Since I am quite interested in cryptocurrencies, it was a nice learning experience. However, the mainstream public is lazy and does not want to go through this many steps. I am already having a hard time convincing friends of mine to buy Digibyte, because they don't understand cryptocurrencies in general, and setting up a Digibyte wallet and buy Digibytes at a different place (exchange-website) is already too much trouble. Therefore I would suggest (and I know it is not easy) to have one online Digibyte webwallet where you can buy in the same environment Digibyte for your Euros/Dollars/etc. This would greatly contribute to the 'ease-of-use' of Digibyte which is essential in order to get accepted by the mainstream public.

Furthermore, I think the Digibyte team is delivering excellent work, especially with the Digibyte Market (another 'bridge' to real life - being able to buy real products with Digibyte) and focusing on the gaming audience; a huge potential and an audience which is a bit tech-savy than the mainstream public. Excellent move in my opinion.

Keep up the good work! :-)

headsup to Jared, the DigiByte Team and 24hralttrade.

excellent customer feedback. this is very valuable. exactly what i love to hear. very well said with pinpoint accuracy. fully agree, especially those in bold above.

Speed will definitely get tons better soon with DigiSpeed. And even better as time goes by. Because Jared and the DigiByte Team got all that factor in and covered. As for the ease of use part, it is something that every altcoin faces. the tricky part is bridging both the bank account and altcoin wallet/exchange together so that one can easily transfer fiat and buy said altcoin. Only Bitcoin has managed to overcome this hurdle so far. I do not know what lengths the altcoin has to go to build that bridge, likewise for DigiByte. It may be a lot of work down the road, just as much as what Bitcoin had to go through. the quickest way would probably be this - Coinbase accepts DigiByte to be traded on their exchange and viola, everything else is already done. i mean...hey...if Litecoin and Ethereum can do it, so can any other altcoin. it just needs to prove that it is damn good to be on the same level as Bitcoin.

UNLESS...is Jared and the DigiByte Team going to surprise us with something??? those who have been following DigiByte for a long time (more than a year), yea...you know what i am referring to Wink. it hasn't been mentioned for MANY months now until WaZZapi brought it up. Because it was the DigiSpeed craze for several months and then plus other awesome updates and additions along the way. those who still remember, good for ya. but just in case it is suppose to be a discreet thing or it has been shelved or it has change to something better, i don't want to mention it just yet. i shall leave it to Jared and the DigiByte Team to do the announcements. now that will really be something!

But anyway, any other ideas digibyters?

how can i not be serious if this is found on the first page of this thread?

366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★DigiByte|极特币★★[DGB]✔$250k Investment, DigiByte Gaming, #DigiByteTip, DigiSpeed on: November 14, 2015, 04:24:11 PM
Now i have 2.420.510 dgb and i will sell 1.210.000 dgb when the price go to 0.01$. And then i will sell the other dgb if the price go to 0.50$. This is a good idea for you?

Hehe, that's a great plan you got there man. I think no matter what price you get in, from 50 to 100 satoshi (and even a little more) if you plan for the long run you'll get a profit eventually. If not, well, something catastrophic would happen, both to DGB and BTC and if you think about that amount although is a big amount for me it's not that much in fiat really.

It goes without saying that for speculation and very short term trading then many altcoins fit the bill, not only DGB.

its a good idea. Do keep in mind that if Bitcoin becomes $100 000/BTC (somehow), 1 DGB will be worth about $0.088 at the current price (88SAT). Rise in Bitcoin price can also make DGB price go up as both are measured in SATOSHI units. Of course, not everything is dependent on the price of Bitcoin. If say Bitcoin rises to $10 000/BTC and DGB rises to 1000SAT/DGB, 1DGB will be worth $0.10. So be sure to monitor and do your maths.  Grin

But if you are looking at DGB/FIAT pair (direct exchange from DGB to fiat), that is another way.

Remember - one of DigiByte's Goal is to aim for around $1-$10 in the years ahead.
367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★DigiByte|极特币★★[DGB]✔$250k Investment, DigiByte Gaming, #DigiByteTip, DigiSpeed on: November 13, 2015, 07:04:52 AM
Jez everytime i buy DGB the price goes down, so if this coin is so undervalued why is it there has been nothing but sell, sell, sell on Cryptsy for the last 3 days...if its that good a coin why are people selling it...is it just one of them coins that goes up on Hype & down when the hype is over?
Is it a trade only coin...buy on the low sell on the highs?
Im just trying to understand why its such an up & down coin... Huh

If you so called DGB supporters here think its worth 500 sats or more then please explain why you aint buying any now @ 90sats
If you think its that good you like telling me if you thought BTC was worth $500 & you were able to buy it for $90 you would not buy any at that price.....you lot crack me up how you go on about its worth but when you have a chance to buy it cheap you do nothing...great support you lot are

I've bought again recently at 80ish satoshis. If you are unsure you should wait, maybe it goes around 50-60, we can never know. Right now I think it's not a great time to buy nor sell, just wait it out. I did it because I plan to hold it long plan either way (if there's a pump in the next weeks and goes to 150 or so I'll sell again...).

So my advice is that, if you feel this project is not worth the long plan investment, just speculate with it. If you think this will be valued at 500 or more satoshis as you said in the next months, then that question is answered. The coin is great, the people behind it are amazing, but no one can't assure this will really take off...same with Bitcoin really.

Most of the DigiByte supporters already have a stache of coins that they keep for long term. I haven't seen many of them actually buying the coins at 90.

spot on. we may be on the same page, but we don't do the same things (i.e. buy on the same days, buy the same amount at certain price levels, buy at the same price, buy at the same exchange or only at 1 exchange, etc). it is only by chance if we do happen to do the same thing/s. and think about it - how many times have we cross the 90 SAT price level already? several times for the past 1 month. i assume most of us have already taken action back then and fulfill our objectives?

In this cryptocurrency world, price is something we try not to bother so much. like keeping the price floating above a certain price level or establishing a floor price, etc. this is something very foolish to do as a trader or as an investor. a trader/investor never goes "ALL IN". we have our own calculations, strategies, investment portfolio, our own number of coins to own and accumulate, etc. if all of us are freaking rich, you can bet we will be buying in the double digits of millions (i.e. >10 million). but i guess most of us are around the 1-5 million and majority of those are the early buyers. there are some who are on budget and will consider getting only around 100k to 500k.

we adapt to the price, we prepare for the worst and also for the best scenarios. and then we just watch...and only act upon it when something of our interests happens. anything else besides that, we contribute to Digibyte in whatever ways we can.

Peace  Cheesy

P.S. correct me if im wrong, but you seemed to be "Buy...ALL IN" at 90 SAT? just to let you know for myself, i don't trade like that. used to but never will ever again. what you are doing and what i used to do...is like trying to be 'smart', to be 'accurate', to think 'we know the price well'. In all truths, nobody knows the price well - when it will move and to where it will move. the moment you think you know the price, you have set yourself down towards the path of losses. the only time you know the price well is when you are lucky. indicators and graphs can only tell you so much, moving average and those kind of statistics. But they are all never 100% reliable.

Why people do this is because they want to maximize their gains. but one must understand such a move is extremely risky. it is not a low risk move. its considered as a high risk move, EVEN if intel tells you price will be like this and like that. The only believable intel is...unfortunately...knowing that a certain whale or whale group is going to pump or dump for real. and then you make your moves before it happens. but it is also why its seen as 'ugly'. in the real world of stocks and shares, illegal - market manipulation, inside info, etc. But if you are good enough as a trader, sometimes there are foretelling signs of a whale group pumping/dumping. one doesn't have to be a whale to manipulate or be part of the P&D Group to earn. if you are that good, people will acknowledge you as good. its not an ugly thing if you can really see those signs. because you weren't part of the P&D group and didn't pump or dump.

Here's what i did (a rough description) for DGB - i put a buy order at around 80-90, 70-80, 60-70, 50-60 SAT price levels. each buy order is worth around 20k-100k. i don't buy all in at 90 sat. likewise, i do the same for selling. what i am doing is to prepare myself for both ups and downs. Conquer the reachable price levels. Environmental Control on all/most reachable price ranges. No Risk. Only Risk is DigiByte dies (unlikely). No Panics. No Impulse. Volatility Proof. Doesn't need a lot of capital if you strategize well. I may be losing opportunities with my BTC/DGB sitting there. But that's how it is. You can't have everything. Either you maximize gains but risk every bit of control or have everything under control with moderate gains. i cant say the same for others that they are doing what i am doing.

May the Trade be in your favors  Grin
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GEMZ] GetGems - Social Messaging App That Pays - Live on Android and iOS on: November 13, 2015, 02:40:55 AM
All this speculation about gemz/paykey... Why dont the Devs respond?

Maybe they are like, writing and testing code? I know when I'm working on a project I ignore forums, email and stuff or I'd never get any work done.

Which is why we shouldn't bother them too much with requests. I completely trust the team, what they have come out withy recently surpasses any requests people have asked for. I think its dangerous to put pressure on the team about various features, best let them get on with their vision. I have seen a couple of decisions so far been influenced by opinon like focus on Android not iOS and move to Telegram rather than use own messenger......I don't want to get into what would of been better or worse but I do believe the dev team don't work in a vacuum so outside influences change and affect decision making how could they not..... for good or bad.

Definitely people should put forward good ideas in a casual way but don't push too hard for features that possibly don't facilitate the bigger goals of the project.

Good luck for the UBS competition to the team....later today.

chill souljah1h!! paykey went officially public (excluding sources like from Beta Testers Group, etc) only a few days ago. and the latest blog update was also only a few days ago (same day actually). AirDrop is here, and i am VERY SURPRISE how almost all the attention and focus got shifted away from it TO paykey. like AirDrop ain't worth a thing now, the way some people are responding (you know who you are).

Considering how extra busy Daniel and the GETGEMS Team are now with a few competitions (don't forget, they need to travel from country to country. it's not something you can fly to and fro all in one day), you need to give them some grace time. at least 3 weeks more for any new official announcements. But if you are that impatient for answers from the devs, there is going to be a AMA (Ask-Me-Anything) session soon on ZapChain. that's your chance to blast away, ask them anything.

if any of you feel you are not up to put in the extra effort to get answers, don't expect the devs to put in an extra effort for you by coming to your doorstep and saying "we will be doing this and that, its going to be like this and that". if there's any room for extra effort, that would be for the development of the GETGEMS Project. So be thankful that they created a timeslot for a AMA Session.
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GEMZ] GetGems - Social Messaging App That Pays - Live on Android and iOS on: November 12, 2015, 02:38:22 AM
I hope Paykey will not steal the attention over getgems since this was the initial project which is still in beta phase and not even promoted yet.

Is daniel introducing getgems when he introduces paykey to the bigcrowds? starting to feel like getgems is about to become their number 2 priority.

Any success of Paykey will feed into the getgems token AND app, I don't see why that is hard to understand?

Plus the Getgems app is pretty much finished....of course it will keep developing but I mean apart from the advertising/attention model which has already been discussed as not much point until the app reaches a much larger user base.

Put simply its all good.....why the worry and moaning from this thread all of a sudden....especially when the app really is starting to work great.

i just realized...they can't read. So its alright.  no amount of explanation will help. in the end, they will get left behind once it hits mainstream, by then, its probably too late for them Grin
370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GEMZ] GetGems - Social Messaging App That Pays - Live on Android and iOS on: November 11, 2015, 04:12:19 AM
The 0.5 % goes to Daniel and his fellows.

Daniel is the ceo of GetGems and his 'fellows' are the iOS developer, Android developer, backend and graphics designers. The 0.5% is called a fee, you pay a fee in exchange for services. It's how a company makes money to run a business, offer new services and for its staff to make a living, even Bitcoin has fees. This is a far reaching project not just the average altcoin.

If you are looking for a serious project then i would stay away from one where its devs can't earn money from it because that is a lack of users adoption and interest, having no funds for development is a fail.

I think you just missed my point. You are so excited about the PayKey that you do not see what is really going on. I am a bit worried about the ethical issues here. I am only defending the interests of the community.

The GetGems team collected 800 000 dollars from the community. The point is that the team spent the money to develop PayKey that generates 0.5 % to the team members. In my view, the money should have been used in a way that benefits the community. Obviously, the PayKey generates nothing to the community. The benefits, which are all drawn from the community as well, go directly to Daniel & Fellows. In fact, besides that GetGems team collected the 800 000 dollars in crowdsale, it wants to suck even more money from the community trough transaction fees, you fools. Don’t you understand: PayKey is a side project, a by-product of GetGems, which was developed with the money drawn from the community. That is very unethical, unfair, sad, and disappointing. I hope the community will react.

Ps. I believe that the PayKey may be a great product. However, it was produced in a very unethical manner. There is no question about it. I feel cheated.

I don't think you understand. Paykey gives gems the perfect platform to operate on. Just look at my above post with the comment from yoyoamigo to see how connected the two are. The TL;DR is ads will optionally(?) display in the keyboard, ads will pay gems, advertisers can only get ads in gems. This is a really nice ecosystem imo and if you don't see value in this then gems probably isent for you.

i am part of the community and so, i am gonna 'react'.

Economy System
Firstly, Yup to omgnaro. PayKey is the Key to the whole GETGEMS Project. But its a useless key if its not part of an Economy System - social market, mobile market, banking and financial services market, etc. PayKey alone, as a keyboard, will not work by itself, without being in an Economy System. It is the EcoSystem that fuels the (1) Advertisers (2) Users (3) GETGEMS Team. Because when we use it and we don't get anything for using it, nobody wants to use a keyboard with *annoying* ads on it. If i am simply going to use it to send money to another user, i can easily find an alternative (another app) for that purpose. This EcoSystem...the 3 mentioned above each plays an important role:

The GEMZ Flow
(1) Advertisers will flock in to show their Ads to us users, to only show to interested people only. so every GEMZ spent will be 100% worthy of spending. a sum of GEMZ will be paid to us.
(2) We, as Users, helped Advertisers advertise by making sure the ads come to us, interested parties only! So Fashion for Ladies ads will only go to ladies interested in Fashion. Not to men. So we are getting paid for having done a very simple job and by playing a very simple role - choose what ads you are interested in, search for what ads you are interested in or get asked to view an ad by said brands/companies. Yes...that simple yet the difference it makes for advertisers is game changing.
(3) For every transaction, GETGEMS TEAM will get 0.5% of it to fund its operations and services: pay employees, elec and water bills, any outsourced jobs like maintainence, office rental, etc. so we get 99.5%.

Contribution to the EcoSystem
(1) Advertisers buy GEMZ and show ads of their products, services, etc.
(2) Users direct the ads to themselves without Advertisers directing it to them. We get paid for doing that + expanding the social GEMZ Network and whatever else...
(3) GETGEMS Team provides this wonderful technology, platform, space and services, for us and them, for everyone, to make all these possible. they take a cut (0.5%) from each transaction.

someone send you money using Paypal, you can get less than 90% and Paypal can get more than 10%. You are not even earning. you get less than 100%. For receiving money, your total net worth in Paypal is >-10% (loss) while in GETGEMS its -0.5% (loss). GETGEMS is 20 times better. OH WAIT! that's sending money. You can't earn in Paypal. But you can in GETGEMS. So when getting GEMZ, total net worth is +99.5% (profit).

Money Mis-spent, Misuse, Misinvested...
Now, reading several pages back from this page onwards of this thread, there appears to be some kind of misunderstanding of how the Early Buyers Funds are being misused or misinvested or whatever you want to call it. Firstly, i don't think Daniel and his GETGEMS Team are stupid enough to completely separate PayKey and GETGEMS, to the point whereby we can throw out GETGEMS out of this world.

Even if PayKey ends up being a standalone app in which we can download it without downloading GETGEMS, i foresee that the GETGEMS app will still be required to enjoy the full benefits of PayKey, logically speaking. And if that is really the case, the PayKey may ask the user to download the GETGEMS app in order to use certain functions of it. such as to receive GEMZ, to store GEMZ, etc. i highly doubt you can do EVERYTHING in a keyboard app. what? you want to squeeze in primedice, transaction history, QR Code, all the settings, chats tab, store tab, earn tab, etc??? all within half the space of a smartphone screen? And obviously, GETGEMS app will be able to do MORE in the future. So yea...you gonna put all those future additions as well into a keyboard app???

No...clearly no. PayKey need GETGEMS App to handle those stuff, to manage, to do more than what a keyboard can do. the keyboard, PayKey, will just be one of the critical components of the whole GETGEMS Project. it is not simply a "side" project. It is crucial and the other 2 are crucial as well:
-- Without Attention Economy, the other 2 may probably just survive but will lose out to competitiors.
-- Without GETGEMS App, well...i'm not going to be happy using an All-In-One keyboard app. with no art & design whatsoever, it will be an interface with layers of interface.
-- Without PayKey, it will be what we thought we invested in. but man...it's not market breaking, its not taking the world by storm...its not...slam dunk.

Put the 3 together, you better have some really good words to describe it.

Anyway, our funds aren't the only concern here. What about Magma VC's $400k funds? Or CitiBank's if there's any? Never mind the $250k from Buffalo since they won it. How about let's not talk about funds. there are also resources provided by whoever is supporting this GETGEMS Project, services like guidance and advises offered, time and manpower contributed by certain people of high status, etc. How are they all being spent?

Let's not forget that we funded the project to be developed, not its operations. GETGEMS needs to be financed in order to run. Nothing runs free forever (not even mmorpg) only unless you are freaking rich that will lasts for decades or being sponsored by a rich somebody for decades. Transaction fees are nothing...for what we are getting. did you thought of what you are going to get? Yoyo! the GEMZ you fool:

- the daily free GEMZ
- the friend invitation GEMZ
- the airdrop GEMZ
- the Early Buyers Presale Perk GEMZ
- the Ads GEMZ
- who knows what else...(from the Attention Economy)

Conclusion
i think you are being very unfair towards Daniel and the GETGEMS Team. produced in an unethical manner? feel cheated? don't blind yourself. you see that you are getting less when you are actually getting more. you don't like more? getting more makes you feel being cheated? Look at Facebook. If you were an early investor of Facebook, what you are saying is like - you feel cheated because you didn't know Facebook was going to make a Facebook Messenger App that allows users to send money and the App is where all the money is being invested in. not Facebook.com.

Your sense of reasoning is...well...worthy to take note of in the very least but seriously, very poorly timed and absolutely no proofs to back your claims and statements. You want to say this...come back when GETGEMS App suddenly has less downloads than PayKey downloads (only if PayKey is a standalone app).

Tell me which altcoin does this??? which social messaging app does this???
which KEYBOARD does this.......!? Does your Keyboard even pay you!? (my bad for the harsh joke)

My react...is done.

My Personal Analysis of PayKey and How Important GETGEMS App + Attention Economy are
there is only one little concern left but its something in the long run - Competition. This means that other people can start working on this very same idea (PayKey) and further innovate it. This idea/feature alone is great, awesome and fantastic - being able to send fiat, BTC or GEMZ to another and put ads on a keyboard.

BUT PayKey will not work by itself...alone.
The Attention Economy and the GETGEMS App will play some very very huge important roles.

Because of those 2, not only will PayKey work but it elevates PayKey to the next level/s:
-- Got money, Got Show
PayKey alone will not be able to reach out to the global audience as there is absolutely no social aspect. It is Market Penetrative because it can reach out to every social person or smartphone user BUT nobody will want it...and no eyes will want to see ads. Putting ads on the keyboard is great for advertisers. but whats in it for us users? who the heck wants to use such a keyboard??? would you? no! Because there's nothing in it for us. But with monetary gains, we will. For those who aren't in for the monetary gains, users will have the option to choose to allow ads to appear or not to appear.
-- A Heaven For Ads
Now, putting ads on PayKey will be WAY BETTER than putting ads on a Youtube video or a website with high traffic (i.e. millions of visitors per day):
(1) Potential Extremely Super Ultra High Traffic (Billions with an 's'...not million)
(2) Ads get more viewing time (appears frequently, as often as using the keyboard vs visiting a website or watching Youtube)
(?) Ads get Parallel Viewing (seeing the keyboard and ads at the same time in an area of focus where the eye is focusing). It's a '?' because i am not sure how the ads will appear. Think about it, you visit a website, all you want is the content of the website. Ads are just occupying space making it difficult for you to browse. and there are other ads there too. So the chances of catching any visitor's attention...is low. For Youtube, the chances are higher. Because majority of the ads are interesting. Because its Dynamic (videos). not Static (images). Its eye-catching. Some ads can't be skipped and you are forced to watch it. But for the past few years, there's AdBlock. So Advertisers and Youtubers are losing out.
-- No more blocking Ads
However, the option to choose what kind of ads users want to see is game changing. *Not sure if this is part of the Attention Economy RoadMap Plans. But it can be further developed*
(1) Guaranteed Attention from users (Targetted Audience/Market reached as targetted by the audiences themselves)
(2) Little Competition-over-Ad-Space with other different kind of ads (because targetted by the audiences themselves)
(3) Even more viewing Time
simply putting ads in a place not dictated by the choice of users/audiences will just be like any other ads space/place. Because we can't do that in websites, on TVs, on Radios or even on Youtube. Users are completely left out of the Ads Scene without any role to play. All the work is done by advertisers. the most they can do is making sure they put ads at the right places - putting ads about computers in places that is all about computers. The ONLY place i can think of where users have a role to play in the Ads Scene is Emails - choosing which emails we are interested in to receive. Heard of EmailCashPro? But seriously speaking, its quite a hassle, time-consuming, not very productive and not very beneficial in the end to view emails these days because we have so many different emails and for advertisers, i believe its not working out too well for them too.
-- What's in a Keyboard?
Also, many exciting features that can be build in an app (GETGEMS App) will not be able to be build into a keyboard. the idea alone of sending fiat, BTC or other cryptocurrencies...there are some alternatives for that already. it doesn't need to be on a keyboard.

PayKey will not be driven or boosted by itself. there's no catch or connected synergy (whatever that means).
So it looks like Daniel and the GETGEMS Team got this really nicely covered  Cool

Conclusion...
i watched the video that Daniel and the GETGEMS Team presented at 43North Competition. They only talked about PayKey. Attention Economy and the GETGEMS App were mostly left out of the whole picture. Probably already got presented before getting shortlisted as a finalist. Had they been given more time to present the whole entire project, i think the judges would be mindblown. With these 3 together fully well-developed and with whatever other additions in the future, it will blow away every other social messaging app. i'm guessing that the judges were being very very focused on just the PayKey idea alone and didn't seem very impressed. probably because they might have thought "this is quite simple to code actually, i could easily get some good developers to make one". But they probably don't see the whole entire picture.

For those who have been closely following GETGEMS, Daniel and the GETGEMS Team have been very very careful so far in ensuring that everything falls into place. step by step, the app is coming along nicely. Laying the foundation is the biggest and hardest before one can start building the top. It is where most of the resources are needed. otherwise, everything build on top of it will just come falling down.

For now, GETGEMS is in the lead and has been getting support both financially and non-financially. those are huge advantages, assuming there isn't any secret project/s out there with the same idea/feature already. With this new announcement and addition to the GETGEMS Project, which is PayKey, i can't wait for 2016. With additional funds and recognition received from competitions and hopefully more support, GETGEMS is entering full steam ahead. And after 2016, who knows what else Daniel and the GETGEMS Team has in store?  Cool

BTW...
i was thinking if PrimeDice could use some kind of simple flash animation. you know, a picture of that mustache man rolling the dice, a scroll bar to adjust winning chances and amount to bet. some really simple buttons and animations would be great if it can be implemented into the app somehow. it will be a lot more user-friendly...really.  Wink

Even if the only news was 27% monthly adoption I would be excited, with everything else especially PayKey I'm crazily excited. I also have questions and will wait for the question time. I hope the team focuses on the essentials now and gets PayKey out in the wild ASAP....my hunch is its gonna be huge.

I see 3 big benefits for Gemz with Paykey:

- It will make Gemz tokens global, you will be able to transact Gemz on every social media, facebook, Whatsapp, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Wechat etc.

- It will be possible to advertise via the Paykey space which is straight from the keyboard on your smartphone, and they will need Gemz tokens to advertise.

- Companies who want to use Paykey will get to know the GetGems brand which is great advertising itsself.

and then companies/businesses throw in some discounts to encourage users to use the GETGEMS app + PayKey to get the discount and at the cashier, there will be a small GETGEMS/PayKey banner. Or possibly even outside at the entrance of the shop if there's a promotion going on.

this cycle of activity alone will exponentially boost awareness + adoption for BOTH companies/businesses and GETGEMS.
advertisement = more awareness = more adoption = more advertisement done = more awareness created = MORE ADOPTION = THE WORLD!!!

discount is a must. majority of discount giving services have never failed to achieve their targets. if there is any failure, it is failing to let as many people know about their discounts. i myself have troubles keeping track of so many and i really wish i knew some of them. but it's just difficult honestly speaking. even if there's a website that helps to gather all this info into one place, it is still exhausting to look through all of them. easy to keep track of one...but when you have 10-30 or different companies/businesses use different means to advertise (mail, facebook, their own website, members only, limited sale, at the shop only, etc), yea...i'm just saying im a bargain hunter   Grin

let's just take for one example. i am looking to buy a new computer mouse. and there are so many brands available. i have to manually look up for each one of them to see if there is any promotion/discount. and then, i have to look at certain shops because they are the distributors and they too can have their own discounts. no wait! PC Fair, IT conventions, they usually have better discounts. gotta check on that too. Now...how many of us does all of these? majority or minority? And then think about it - how much time is being spent using social media and further zooming in, how much time is spent on the keyboard on our smartphone? our eyes practically.

Here's the thing - first and foremost, any business/companies that uses cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, can easily offer better discounts. And then coupled that with their usual sales and promotional events = bigger discounts.  Cool it's just logical, from a businessman point of view. and there will be competition, as usual, among companies/businesses to see who has better discounts. using cryptocurrencies allows them to save more and give more.  Cool

But that's not the real deal with PayKey

the GETGEMS Team is basically taking this feature to the next level. instead of putting it in an app, which is GETGEMS app, why not put it somewhere...where its everywhere and not just in an app. like the keyboard! many of us use SwiftKey keyboard app. and its practically everywhere - we use it on facebook, whatsapp, etc. because its a main aspect of the smartphone. BUT who is to say we can't do anything more to a keyboard app? frankly though, its better known as a GETGEMS Keyboard. but its weird to call it that i guess. and it doesn't do well to promote it since its in a social media app. not a keyboard app. we can't promote a social media app to other social media apps. but we can if its a keyboard app (although essentially not an app. but its one heck of a keyboard feature!). am i right so far? i guess it makes sense at least. but i bet the GETGEMS Team have way more reasons and better explanations in regards to this, after all the brainstorming.

Also, im guessing that this PayKey feature, although it sounds very separated from GETGEMS, i believe users can only get it by downloading the GETGEMS app. it would be a bad idea to totally separate it from GETGEMS and make it into another app. This may cause people to ONLY DOWNLOAD PayKey and not GETGEMS. So i believe, how it will be done will be like this - download GETGEMS app and it will also install and replace the smartphone's standard keyboard with GETGEMS' PayKey.  Wink

Whatever the case is, we can't forget the true underlying purpose of a cryptocurrency - to use it, to spend it. with PayKey and GETGEMS, we are a few steps closer to instantly deducting fiat from our banks (or digital wallets) and changing it into a cryptocurrency on the fly and then spending it in the very next second without any change in its price (or with as little change as possible).

Hopefully when it comes to regulations and stuff, the GETGEMS Team will have all that sorted out. that's the only concern i have. But Facebook has been there for some time - being able to send money and stuff to each other as a facebook user. doesn't seem like there's any legal issues so far.

THIS IS GENTLEMEN!

My Android gems is working flawlessly now.  The airdrop is addictive and I look forward to texting to boost my output.  Can't wait for the ios version which should be our any day.

I'll say it again, once polished this is bitcoins killer app

Ive had problems from day one with my old phone. I have things running now but I don't see the airdrop adding anything. Does ti tell you how many you received? Mine triggered me to add friends which I don't want to do just yet....and thats all.

the airdrop is currently only out for Android. not sure when is the iOS one. and one must have added enough friends (not sure how many is the minimum required) to probably start getting airdrop. but i am not sure how much and how long do those friends need to use GEMS App. ask peled for the fine details. also, if you were one of the Early Buyers last year, the presale perk hasn't started yet.

i believe the next blog post GEMS UPDATE that should be out soon in probably less than 24 hrs...should explain everything mentioned above and whatever else related to AirDrop.

You missed something:

PayKey

The GEMZ we originally invested in is a far cry from what is about to unfold.

It possibly deserves a whole new ANN. thread?

I second this idea.  This is going to be absolutely huge.  Super excited to see where this takes us

I agree as well that this deserves a new ANN thread. Great idea!

To anyone who is anxious for the blog to come out, I would ask that you please allow the devs flexibility to release this sensitive information whenever they need to. It seems obvious that they are delaying publication for some strategic reason that can't, and shouldn't, be revealed to everyone quite yet. So if the big reveal takes another week, or even a month, I say don't pressure them to do something that would put them at a strategic disadvantage against their competition who follow what they are doing closely. Our desire to be informed is secondary to the main goals of this project, which sometimes requires tight lips (As evidenced by none of us knowing about PayKey until they revealed it at the competition).

Also remember that they have worked very hard to create Gemz the currency, and it can work in both GG Messenger and PayKey in a similar manner (referral rewards, airdrop, etc.). I doubt they would put all this time into developing Gemz, and then drop it, especially when it was already promised to help develop their community. In addition, the point of the business game is to make as much money as possible, so why would they forsake the opportunity to do that with Gemz the currency when it's already developed?

I am so unbelievably impressed at everyone on the GetGems staff, from Daniel and Alon's presentation, to the programmers and the graphic designers. I can only laugh/cringe at the reaction of the judges. If it were only a keyboard app that could transfer money, AND they have a patent pending, that in and of itself would be revolutionary... but when you factor in Gemz, especially using a referral reward system and airdrop, then wow...

yep yep.

haha...i clearly rmb that there was a period of 1-2 months, many people here were impatient about the release of AirDrop...with some complaining that it got delayed. NOW ITS HERE...what you waiting for??? GO GET PEOPLE TO JOIN GETGEMS UNDER YOU! Don't start the next "i-cant-wait-for-the-next" whatever.

it was good, now its great because AirDrop is finally here, and lastly, its going to be AWESOME!
Go do your social thing and get busy getting GEMZ, etc. you want to start late? fine with us. we gonna GETGEMS then.

CHEERS!

luongdk, seeing that there's nothing urgent in your case, i suggest doing this at Bitcoin Reddit forums. you will have a better chance. Also, i suggest asking for Bitcoin. People will ChangeTip you. Because its price is currently rising, i am sure your daughter's future will be even more guaranteed with Bitcoin.

As for Digibyte, i suggest taking your time to slowly accumulate. why the rush? you got 15 years to do that  Wink. tons of opportunities to do good trading.

Well, I took a couple of days off my busy week to deal with this specific issue... plus I got date with the hot dentist tomorrow.
Basically it just means I get to deal with shit I don't want to deal with when I am in production mode.
I don't want to sell any but I would prefer my stash went to someone from the community rather than gobbled up by an exchange or negative parties.
Too much in mind right now to be inserting every comment I want to reply to but I'll do it contextually.

You're right though, I might be jumping ship way too early... but it's typical me; when you have a problem eliminate it, shoot now ask questions later.
Thing is, I don't want to sellout and I do care about DigiByte, that's why I came here to find it a good home; potentially someone could make sense of it all.
I'm also not so much a man of words, more a man of action so if I am presented with options I didn't know exist then I'll think twice.

If DigiByte's information is accurate above, I got tons of time before larger blocks are needed and the core becomes too heavy for me to run.
However, I'ma firm believer of the limited dynamic blocks... create the size you need, as you need up to a certain limit.
The faster blocks could mean we may never need bigger blocks, since more blocks more often can move a lot more coin faster.
Let's call it, contingency for the future... so we don't run into the block debates down the road like in BTC... but their blocktime is 10 minutes though.
Thank you guys for understanding my internet issue, I run my mine off of an LTE Hub and day to day activities is on satellite; it's a challenge.
My average bill is $135.00 and with bigger blocks would be... well, you do the math anything above 20Gb is $10 per Mb (yes, per megabyte)
Cool this is when others have Internet or power issues, I am unaffected  Grin
I live right next to heaven here as far as I'm concerned, the downside is everything is expensive.

I am also looking at other storage options like Cryptsy Lock Box... but not sure if I can trust it though.
I like the idea of just saving the wallet.dat too but then I still need to download the whole core again later anyways so... it's just a worst case scenario option.
Then again, I like the idea of selling too, let another generation enjoy it... I'll always own a bunch DGB's anyways, I still got a few hundred K's in pools.
Besides, I got other profitable shenanigans that need funding.
Then I am tempted by Sharky's respectable offer... not every day you get a BTC10 bone dangling in your face.
If I refuse it, would the greatest money amount I refuse.... but I am also tempted into have a dumping party, it's so fun!
Then there are many exchanges that trade DGB so I can distribute the damage and run the chance to make a lot more than selling wholesale.
Like I say, there's a logical solution to every problem... sometimes, all I need is to be explained things in complete detail.... and to sleep on it a few times.

MyriadCoin, you're drunk, go back to your boring-ass thread or join us.... admit it, you know you wanna!   Grin

whatever scenario or situation you are in, always have >=1 million DGB for the looooooooong run.  Cool

kinda like a failproof plan...erm...not sure how to explain.

keep it in a trezor or safe/lockbox....come back years later....viola. don't end up like some dude who mined and threw the ext hdd and desperately went looking for it in the dump. back then, there were little options. but now...we have better options, solutions, ideas, etc. Next year...even more.

how much diff is 9btc to 10btc to you btw? do you really need every single bit of 10 btc? do consider carefully. hopefully there is room to save some.
and yea...might be too early to jump ship. DigiSpeed isn't release yet. although i can see that you may want to just be way prepared and not wait for when the situation comes.

OH and stay away from Cryptsy for the time being. the air isn't clear yet. they are still quite stuck in a muddy situation.

Cheers!
