Lurking too. Still holding.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XMG] Coin Magi | CPU mining | PoS-II | PoM | Unique BLK reward | [MagiPay] on: January 25, 2015, 08:35:13 AM
Firstly thanks Wolf for the work and agreement by offering bounties to release his optimized miner. Based on his code, I've worked on it a little bit and got about 50% further speed boost.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/coinmagi/files/m-miner/Wolf-m7m-cpuminer-V2/

Uhmmm, source code? Would like to get it to work on my linux machine and possibly my Odroid too. Grin
363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XMG] Coin Magi | CPU mining | PoS-II | PoM | Unique BLK reward | [MagiPay] on: January 23, 2015, 04:50:21 PM
That would be great, but no worries, you've been very generous! Getting 57,7kH/s btw on my i7-3770 btw, around 32kH/s before.  Cheesy

I wish there was a p2pool available, would love to host one.
364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XMG] Coin Magi | CPU mining | PoS-II | PoM | Unique BLK reward | [MagiPay] on: January 23, 2015, 04:41:01 PM
First, thank you wolf0 for releasing the updated miner. Sadly I cannot compile it on my Odroid (ARM), does your miner use x86 assembler? The error I get is:
bad value for -march switch (native)

Also not being able to solo mine is kinda sad.  Wink
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [XMG] M7M CPU mining discussion thread on: January 19, 2015, 04:11:20 PM
Odroid XU3-Lite http://www.hardkernel.com/main/products/prdt_info.php?g_code=G141351880955

Samsung Exynos5422 Cortex™-A15 1.8Ghz quad core and Cortex™-A7 quad core CPUs

~10kH/s

 Shocked

Not bad for 10 Watt.  Grin

edit: I must correct myself, it does "only" 7.66kH/s. The 4 big cores showed the hashrate (1.28kH/s each) way quicker than the 4 little cores (0.63kH/s each). Still quite impressive I think.  Cheesy
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU only coins to mine? on: January 15, 2015, 04:12:00 PM
Coin of the Magi is the best option imo, especially for low powered devices.

For anyone who had problems updating this on a linux server, like me, just delete everything in /.magi/ except the wallet.dat.   Cheesy
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RIC] Riecoin: constellations POW *CPU* HARD FORK successful, world record on: December 16, 2014, 04:16:46 PM
Glad you like it! I planned to do something like this for dogecoin, but since I also own a few RIC, why not both?
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RIC] Riecoin: constellations POW *CPU* HARD FORK successful, world record on: December 16, 2014, 01:28:55 PM
Fair points.  Cheesy

My idea: a site that lets reddit users redeem their karma for riecoins. Same could be done for bitcointalk/riecointalk too, more activity = more coins.  Grin
370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RIC] Riecoin: constellations POW *CPU* HARD FORK successful, world record on: December 16, 2014, 11:58:56 AM
Instead of focusing on superblocks and world records, how about focusing on merchant adoption and distribution to newbies?  Tongue

I recommend http://pool.qbit-chain.com:9372/static/ for EU miners. Stable, low latency and 0% fees.
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: October 01, 2013, 03:49:57 PM
Sorry for my pools being down, investigating the issue. Everything is running but nobody can connect.  Huh

I think people realize there are more fishes in the lake. Although not as big as Litecoin (yet), these other fishes might actually taste way better.
Plus the good ol' big Litecoinfish hasn't made news for a large amount of time.
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: September 15, 2013, 10:49:44 PM
I guess our CPUs are just too old for this assembler code.  Cry
Is BAMT 64bit?
376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] MemoryCoin | R.I.P. on: September 14, 2013, 10:22:12 AM
Can I get a TL;DR of this thread? I only followed Memcoin a bit in the beginning and reading the last two pages now makes it look like this:

Hey look, cool coin where YOU can vote who wins the jackpot! Vote for me and I'll continue developing. What, you want to win the jackot yourself instead of giving it to me for my hard work? F*** OFF, now I'll make your coins worthless! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scorched_earth

From what I saw there were some forking issues, so the only truly necessary thing is pushing out some checkpoints every other week, right? Shouldn't be too hard to find a dev willing to do that for a small fee.Or are there other issues besides some forking (attempts?)?
IMO the creator of a coin shouldn't be able to destroy the coin nor see his users as enemy, so the last responses of FreeTrade are rather WTF...
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: .net Sharp Miner open source c# cpu scrypt miner! on: September 14, 2013, 10:01:17 AM
I like the idea of a miner AI network learning to get faster, I'm not sure if it's possible at all, sounds like sci-fi.  Cheesy
If you can present your idea a bit more detailed, I'm sure people will be quite interested.
Also I think AI based mining might work best on Primecoin.  Huh
378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: September 14, 2013, 09:45:27 AM
latest optimized version cpu miner for quark with sse4 support (win64).
(compiled from source https://github.com/uncle-bob/quarkcoin-cpuminer (without CHEAT option))

Hi all,

I am running on BAMT v1.1, I had tried to compile Uncle Bob's version, following the instructions to get this working but when I run make I got the following errors.  Here is the complete commands with Make Distclean so that we can eliminate any bad object files:
Code:

GCC is version 4.4.5 (Debian 4.4.5-8)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  If it works, post your securecoin address and I will reward you for your time.

I get the same on a 32-bit Linux Mint (Core2), no problems on a server (i7) with Debian 7 x64. Also note the quark-readme:
Quote
must be compiled with CFLAGS="-msse2"
recomended is CFLAGS="-msse2 -O3"
jh_sse2_opt64.h is for 64bit only, sse2 enabled proccessors.
groestl is optimized assembly for Opteron or newer AMD chips. No test have
been done on Intel.
mtune=amdfam10 might be the culprit. I'm too lazy to install an x64 linux on the shitty notebook.

Both of these activities – splitting an order to give the illusion of many trades, and trading within a group to give the appearance of increased volume and a certain market direction – are considered painting the tape and highly illegal. (I’m going to stop writing “usually illegal” now, as it’s illegal in practically all countries where you can read this.)

Funny how all major exchanges encourage these "illegal" activities.

Yeah I thought about posting it too, but I think disclosure was the way to go, especially since I was sure I wasn't the only one who'd find it. From what i saw the file doesn't contain much legit account info, it even looks like someone let run a script to spam the file (look at all the g00dpa$$w0rd), ofcourse I could be wrong.
Anyways, this looks like the work of an amateur, could be a reverse honeypot though (making us feel safe, then using a 0day on us).
Totally hope affected users noticed the site is fake and changed their passwords.
