361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Concerning Malwares on: January 18, 2024, 06:04:09 AM
Well, there are some attacks like the "Clipboard" hijacking, that can be used to replace the hackers address with the one that you wanted to paste in the sender address of the wallet, when you want to send tokens.

The address is so long and case sensitive, so people do not type it. Hackers know people just Copy&Paste Crypto addresses, so they target the clipboard.

One way to test this, is to copy and paste an address and then to paste it to a text file... if it shows another address, then you know your clipboard are compromised.
362  Economy / Economics / Re: USA Economic and power status will go lower new Country will take over on: January 18, 2024, 05:52:26 AM
How sure are you about that?

The annual GDP growth rate of France is only 6.8% and the government debt is 98.1% of GDP.

I cannot see how a country that are mostly boosted by tourism income, can be the strongest economy in the world?

The only thing that might help them are the foreign trade, because the value of the imports and exports comprise of 63% of their country's GDP.

Edit : I only saw now that this thread was started in 2020... 🙄
363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling can be a hope restorer if we go about it wisely! on: January 18, 2024, 05:38:24 AM
Do you think he deserved that win? You mentioned that he knowingly used his previous Bus to transport drugs, so now he won money to buy another Bus and then to do this again?

I am happy when I hear that some poor single parent won a Lottery and that he or she used that money to buy a house and to pay for the studies of his or her children.

Why is it always the people that deserve it the least, that are winning all those big wins?
364  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: January 18, 2024, 05:29:51 AM
Has anyone here on BitcoinTalk participated in the Stake.com StakeF1Team Twitter Profile Pic giveaway and been picked as a winner? Since they pick the winners publicly, I checked the account they selected. I doubt they only choose winners with a good current wager. Additionally most of them are Platinum +. I haven't seen anyone with Gold Rank or below. For sure they will likely argue that this is unusual. But this is what I observed.

Why would it be an issue, if they only picked Platinum members? I think it would have been suspect if they only picked lower ranked players, because Alt accounts are ussually comprised of players with the VIP rank from Bronze to Gold.

It is the same with the Weekly giveaway where higher ranked VIPs are winning most of the prizes. Who deserve the win more... the guy who wagered $1000 or the guy that wagered $2 000 000?
365  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to buy Bitcoin is around the time of Bitcoin Halving: April 22, 2024 on: January 18, 2024, 05:20:40 AM
You will be too late if you buy too close to the day of the actual event, because the hype cycle starts almost 2 to 3 months in advance, so the price of Bitcoin would have already been pumped by the hype, before it happens.

This is seen in the latest hype event, where the price went up before the news was announced that the spot Bitcoin ETF were approved.

In any way... a lot can happen before the "Halving" takes place and negative news might absorb any price increase that might happen during this hype cycle.
366  Economy / Economics / Re: Useful side hustles to sponsor a BTC investment dream. on: January 17, 2024, 05:48:56 AM
Well one way of earning some extra bitcoins are to participate in Signature campaigns, but the competition to get into these campaigns are fierce and quality of constructive posting are required.

It requires a lot of your time to read through tons of threads and also to research the subject matter to be in a position to reply on those threads.

You can also simply wash dishes at a local restaurant to get extra cash to buy more coins, if you are not very good with online work. 😁
367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making too many picks reduces chances of winning. on: January 17, 2024, 05:35:02 AM
I think the odds of losing a bet are more than winning it, so the more bets you make... and the more complex they are.. the higher the chance for you to lose more money.

People think it is a simple choice between "win or lose" .... but  it is not that simple. You should make calculated bets that are based on proper research and also comparing the odds provided by different Sport betting providers.

You should also consider your bet history and your win/loss history to determine what bet sizes you should make.
368  Economy / Gambling / Re: How Crypto casino market themselves? on: January 17, 2024, 05:24:16 AM
They target "gamblers" from all countries and of "legal" age. (Different for each individual country)

Some people think that they only target highrollers, but that is not true.... they target anyone who shows interrest in gambling, because they want their money.

They will obviously also target countries where online gambling are legal. Some unregulated (unlisenced) Crypto casinos will target anyone, because there are no cosequences for their actions.
369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how wasabi, electrum, exodus ... make money ? on: January 17, 2024, 05:17:11 AM
There are actually a lot of services that are offered without any subscription or fee payments. These people do this to improve the technology as a whole and they ask for donations to pay for some of the expenses eg. Hosting fees etc. (Preev.com)

So, if Bitcoin are doing good, then they are making a profit with the coins that they own. 👌

Some of them are developers that developed something as a side project to get noticed and to promote themselves.
370  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: DIY Bitcoin Blockclock on: January 16, 2024, 06:15:21 AM
Why go through all that trouble, if you can just re-purpose a old used cellphone?

I took a old used cellphone and fired up the browser and opened https://preev.pro or Preev.com and placed it on my desk.

I can easily check the price of Bitcoin and some other Alt coins, just by clicking on the drop down button. (It auto updates)
371  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto: a place where everyone makes money, but few secure it on: January 16, 2024, 05:54:29 AM
Yea, I always say.... "It takes hard work to make a lot of money, but it is more difficult to keep it"

Example : When you are poor, you buy a small inexpensive car and house... the moment when you make a lot of money, you want to show other people that you made it and you splash money on a expensive car and a huge expensive house. Your insurance payments goes up... your property taxes goes up, you spend more on maintenance.... and that quickly eats through your money, if you do not fill up on the income side.
372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: cashout or wait till the end? on: January 16, 2024, 05:43:40 AM
I would not even think twise about hitting that "cashout" button. You already multiplied your stake several times over (600 times), so why risk that for a chance to lose everything?

I reckon if you have enough money to stake bets like that, $1.8 million might not be a lot of money to you... but it is life changing for a lot of other people.

I will take the $1.8 million and live to fight another day.
373  Economy / Gambling / Re: "Exploring RITZ Sports Bet: The Future of Decentralized and Centralized Betting on: January 16, 2024, 05:35:24 AM
The thing is.... tokens only work when there are a huge demand for it, so only having 1 or 2 small casinos using the RITZ token, will not be enough to make it succesful.

I can see why hybrid cars can work, but not why hybrid casinos  should exist?  In my view decentralization fits well into a scenario where security might be an issue or where a company might want to prevent "entities" to take them down.
374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin changed people (enemy to supporter). Lary Fink (BlackRock CEO) 2017 2024 on: January 16, 2024, 05:26:07 AM
Why do we care what these profit hunters think? They will say anything, as long as it brings in profit for their pockets.  Roll Eyes

Jamie "Demon" has been throwing stones at Bitcoin for many years, but JPMorgan Chase got fined for $920 million for trading violations.

They paid almost $900 million to a company that was controlled by a former Nigerian minister that was involved in money-laundering.
375  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Dice machine on: January 15, 2024, 06:00:30 AM
We live in a world where everything are digital and almost every game of chance are backed by a technology that are "provably fair"

AI are based on data that are created by humans and then used by AI to produce something. So it is still the same concept of "garbage in... garbage out"

Rather hire someone that can do something proffesional and sign a contract with him/her to protect your idea. So if something goes wrong, then someone will be able to help you to resolve it.
376  Economy / Economics / Re: Vitalik Buterin's Financial Advice on: January 15, 2024, 05:48:38 AM
Vitalik Buterin should have rather said, "Look for some unique concept or idea that you can copy and then tweak it to look like your idea and then market it"

Also, start calling it one thing (Example : ETH is a smart contract centered platform) and then when the biggest competition are struggling with congestion.... do a 180 and start marketing your technology as "Currency of choice"

Vitalik Buterin is an opportunist and he can spin on a Penny, if the money is good.
377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not a means to an end, Do it for fun and don't take it as a job on: January 15, 2024, 05:37:00 AM
I know many proffesional gamblers that are gambling full-time to make a income and some of them are very succesful.

You get proffesional Poker players and even pro sportbetting, where people do this as a full-time job.

Some gambling require skill and also knowledge and if you mastered that, then there are no reason why you cannot do that as a full-time job.

A lot of people started doing something as a hobby or just for fun, but at some time they did so well.. that they ditched their job and then made their hobby their full-time job.
378  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: January 15, 2024, 05:29:48 AM

I think it's just a beginner who is new to gambling because if he has been around gambling for a long time it's impossible not to know Stake, isn't Stake a big site where they collaborate with many famous people from athletes and others, even their site logo is also displayed on several sports, Besides, it's strange if someone thinks Stake took $22 even though they often give out free money and even on social media they share more than that amount.

Whoever it is, I'm sure it's only a beginner who doesn't know Stake because I believe that almost the average online gambler in this world knows Stake, I have a work friend who is just actively gambling online, he already knows Stake because he has seen the Stake logo when watching a match. Everton so he found out about the Stake site by doing research that they were a fairly large casino. It's actually important to do research so that beginners can know more about Stake.  Grin

Most online gamblers or people that are interested in crypto casinos will know Stake but how effective is it outside that? I have 2 buddies that watch a lot of UFC and although Stake has a partnership with the UFC and their logo is everywhere, they never heard of Stake. Granted, they are not interested in gambling also.

The marketing is more geared towards Brand recognition, so if you see their name somewhere and you are interrested or you know someone that are interrested, you will tell them that you have seen them sponsoring some huge Sport event.

The online gambling scene are huge and highly competitive, so you have to do something extraordinary to stand out and to get your name out there.  Tongue
379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about ETF's? Could they help reduce crypto scam rate on: January 15, 2024, 05:20:42 AM
How will a regulated investment option help to reduce scams? The scammer still has the ability to bypass the regulated option and to use Bitcoin (BTC) or any other Alt coin as a payment option for their scam.  Roll Eyes

Most of these scams operated way before Bitcoin existed and they used the highly regulated Banking system to make payments, so nothing stops them.
380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What strategies do you adopt that can help to make millions in sport betting on: January 14, 2024, 01:11:58 PM
I bet on Sports where I have above average knowledge on the individuals or teams that are participating in those games or matches. I will also bet a significant amount on a match, if I am 80% sure of the possible outcome of that match. (I do not base my decision on the odds that are provided, but more on my knowledge and experience that I have)

The profit on those bets are accumulated and used to bet on more risky bets.. but my base amount are kept for the sure bets with the high probability of a win.  Wink
