361  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM: Spacedep.com on: January 17, 2023, 02:03:24 AM
Do not go to that site (look in the title)!

It is a scam giveaway which is masquerading as SpaceX.

The scammers have also hacked many YouTube channels and are using them to push an Elon Musk livestream with the link to the scam.
These types of scams are already too much in the crypto circle and also very well known to the public. I dont think we even need to make a "scam accusation" post about them since its too obvious (although newbies will still get scammed by their own greed trying to test something new). I daily used to read "fraud" elon musk/michael saylor/jeff bezos/microsoft etc. giveaways on twitter. Just gotta swipe and roll.
362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Oh boy, I've got wallet.dat on: January 17, 2023, 01:28:26 AM
For now OP still didn't find "the date"  Huh
Bitcoins are still here.
Not that easy, he doesnt know in which format the date has been written as password. It'll technically take a lot of time while he tries to discover the format. Chances decrease if there are certian non-guessable special characters between the date.

I wish you good luck OP ! Will follow this thread,
No use, he is already inactive to provide a followup, just like the rest of the newbies. (making one post and going away).
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proof of stake is bad and why bitcoin is the only crypto I would trust on: January 16, 2023, 04:05:11 AM
Proof of stake has its own advantages too like greater scalibility, flexibility, faster operations, cheap, energy efficient, etc.
Its good that we got eth on PoS and btc on PoW.
Let the users decide what they want to be on. Everyone got freedom to choose between the two.

Quote
2. As we have seen over the years maybe 90 to 95% of crytpo scams have been perpetrated on the ethereum blockchain.
What are you talking about ? ETH has merged to PoS only a few months ago late 2022 (around September 2022 IIRC). Before that eth was on PoW, your point is baseless with one-sided opinion.
364  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Fryx Finance - An open-source Monero/Bitcoin exchange. on: January 16, 2023, 02:57:46 AM
We are getting some solid reviews here guys. Keep them coming with all the bugs you encounter.
Meanwhile, I just wanted to tell if you want to access the site via tor, they  also got an .onion link below:

365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Someone sent me a Nemo wallet with 2.1 BTC in it. It shows a screenshot of keys on: January 16, 2023, 02:28:10 AM
What's the advantage of a criminal sending me their seed phrase ?
Its a reverse scam technique. They first give you the private keys with some (fake) tokens in it but they require some gas fee to be transferred into your wallet,  right? The moment you send few bnb or trx into that wallet for gas fee, they auto send it to the scammers' address (via a smart contract arranged).

If anyone shows you a btc balance and gives their keys especially on bsc/erc-20/trc-20 chains, its most likely a scam, dont get tricked.

PS: If they give you a seed in the form of recovery file, it most likely contains malware/trojan, delete them immediately!
366  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Lost access to coins Bitcoin Core on: January 16, 2023, 01:49:18 AM
Thanks I looked. The thing is, I only know 1 character. There are backups.
If you fail from everywhere, then at the last you may go for http://walletrecoveryservices.com/, ran by Dave. I have never tried such service personally but he got a good reputation[1] and good recent reviews on trustpilot[2]. He may help you if he is active. Since your pass length is too big, it may take a while but you should give it a try.

367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Explorer No RPC Connection on: January 16, 2023, 01:36:17 AM
Hi Ed

All I have is:

server=1
txindex=1
Yeah, its okay.

EDIT: SOMEHOW ITS WORKING
 Huh
Could be that you were not synchronized with the blockchain before? But anyway, glad to see that your issue is resolved.
368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Explorer No RPC Connection on: January 16, 2023, 01:16:45 AM
Check your connection details (host & port for Bitcoin Core) as well as your authentication details (username, password, etc).
Could you post your bitcoin.conf file configuration sample? Did you confirm that your localhost is not blocking the port?
Ensure that Bitcoin Core's RPC server is enabled (server=1).
All of these parameters need to be specified in a ".env" file or via commandline parameters.
Check for .env file sample here: https://github.com/janoside/btc-rpc-explorer/blob/master/.env-sample

370  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: what is the best crypto wallet for mobile? on: January 15, 2023, 11:07:32 AM
What should be the criteria of a good mobile wallet
It generally depends upon your purpose of use. For normal transactions, mycelium is best.
But if you are geeky and you want more advanced features like "pay-to-many" in single transaction on mobile, lightning network, etc, I'd go for bluewallet[1] (Im personally using it for myself too).

371  Other / Off-topic / Re: My Journey with Type-2 Diabetes on: January 15, 2023, 05:09:26 AM
Type 2 diabetes just happens in obese people,
Actually, obesity is just one piece of the larger picture. It also depends on few major factors such as family history, genetics, etc. I've seen ppl who are quite thin enough developing type 2 diabates out of nowhere in their young ages. And few fat ones were reported to be non-diabetic at the same time.
Its just like some ppl using a lot of facial products still getting bad acnes while some do nothing and have much clearer face. Its just what it is and we have to accept the fact Sad

However for OP, Im sure with extra precautions you will fight this bravely, you just have to workout a bit more than the rest.
372  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it safe to buy now? on: January 15, 2023, 04:53:48 AM
Isn't it better in most(emphasis on most) cases to buy during reds than greens?
Totally depends on the situation, sometimes you got to buy green coz it gets more greener before any dip. We've already witnessed this a lot of times especially with bitcoin. Just think, few months ago 20k was considered as bloodbath but today it looks green with the same price. So you decide what you want to believe in.

Now imo the price wouldn't increase continuously like this, a drop off to maybe 19 could happen and it's just gonna move up and down from then.
Now thats just your opinion but dropping to 19k will kill the whole run up. It should pump once more to 22k then sustain between 21.3k-21.6k for a few days and the indicators will show like they are cooling off magically. And again, 1st feb will be important for us (major fomc meeting regarding rate hikes). Expect btc to 30k if 25bps is announced.
373  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: .JSON file vs zpub in Electrum on: January 15, 2023, 03:08:03 AM
So, what is PTSB?, I just heard today from you.
It should be PSBT (not PTSB), should've been a typo error made by OP. Btw, PSBT means Partially Signed Bitcoin Transaction

Using PSBTs, a transaction can be crafted with a watch-only wallet, which does not have access to the private keys needed to sign the transaction. The watch-only wallet can then export a PSBT file, which can be imported to a wallet which does contain the required private keys.

374  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Many signals don't work now like they use to be on: January 15, 2023, 12:47:05 AM
when the market is still in bearish mode there will be no signals that work well, there will be no valid ones because market sentiment cannot be predicted. But when the market is in a bullish mode, many signals will start to appear because the bull market makes several signals work well.
During an extreme bull market, the signals provide resistance areas at a specific point, but the market keeps breaking them and vice versa during bear market. So you can't exactly say that signals work well during bull mode and not in bearish times. Actually they dont work out any of the times. However I'd say they work during a sideways market since here traders sell at resistance and buy at support a lot of times before they loose everything during sudden breakouts in either direction 😁
I take every signal with a grain of salt.

But to be honest, I've never tried the converter feature to swap busd to BTC. and now I'm curious whether the swap process is free?
Trading BTC/BUSD is free on binance (i.e. no extra fee) since a very long time already. You can both buy and sell btc with no extra charges. There are 12 more pairs where you can have no trading fees. Check below reference link for more info.

1. Can I use YoMix with VPN on clearnet browser?.
For me it works well both on VPN and non-vpn mode.

2. what is Mixing code?, Can I mix without use the code?
Click on the "?" and you will know by yourself about it.

You should be able to mix without code but its better if you use the code. Better anonymity.

379  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum issue ... argh on: January 14, 2023, 01:56:11 AM
From the above screenshot we can see that your electrum is synchronizing. Let the wallet synchronize itself first (allow 10-20mins depending on your internet connection speed) and try again. Also, you should upgrade it to the latest version 4.3.3 from the official website since you are using an older version as seen by your screenshot. Older versions might have few unsolved bugs.
