361  Economy / Speculation / Re: A cracker owning 850,000btc. How bad is it? on: February 28, 2014, 03:55:31 PM
It really all depends on when the coins were stolen. If it truly happened back in 2011, it may very well have been one person. If it happened with the recent tx malleability issue, it had to be a group effort.

The thing that worries me more is if the US government actually has those coins from Gox (If they seized the coins under the premises of money laundering/drug sales from darknet). Gox coins + darknet coins would equal the US government holding ~10% of all minted coins. This is devastating if true.
362  Economy / Speculation / Re: High frequency traders want to speculated on bitcoin? on: February 28, 2014, 12:24:26 AM
HFT drove me out of the precious metals market. I sincerely hope it does not become widely adopted here in the cryptocurrency community.
363  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin prediction? on: February 27, 2014, 07:06:22 PM
Given historical adoption rate and price fluctuations, I would say around $50,000/ea by end of 2016.
364  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Mircea Popescu aka Crumbs & others on: February 27, 2014, 07:00:24 PM
I've always enjoyed the blunt honest reality that often accompanies Mircea Popescu, MPOE-PR, and pankakke's words. It would make sense they are one and the same.

Still, what does it matter if a person has 500 user names here? At least the 3 he has (allegedly) provide something to the community.

Half the other users here just beg for coins and flat out scam.
365  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gox have at least 200k BTC - lost keys or GAG ORDER most likely not theft on: February 27, 2014, 06:53:06 PM
So within 6 months, and using our own taxpayer money, the U.S. government has become the single largest holder of Bitcoins in the world? This is a joke. They're bigger crooks than the people they busted on darknet.

I am seriously starting to lose faith.

367  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I Trade My Silver For Bitcoins? on: February 26, 2014, 05:01:04 PM
Thanks for the advice, everybody. I do think (although I could be wrong and therefore I would have made the wrong decision) that we are on the edge of another bubble here. The only reason I thought to get rid of my silver is because I'm mad at it...if that makes sense. I remember plenty of people forecasting that it would hit $50 by the end of this year. Instead of that it doesn't want to budge + or - $1 or $2. So in the short term it has cost me money. And no one knows when it will do the opposite.
I already have some bitcoins. God knows I would love to have some more but I really don't want to pay $500+ Shocked for one. In the past when they've gone up so high so quickly like this, they've gone down (why I believe the bubble will burst) almost just as fast. I liked the line about buying at the point of maximum pessimism.
Its funny how we can speculate all day, all have our own good, thought-out ideas based on facts and still have completely no idea which way its going to go.
All I can say is good luck to everybody.

jw, i think you and I had this conversation almost exactly a year ago. I was advocating selling all of your silver then (I dumped 35+ pounds @ $34/ozt - which was 2 BTC/ozt ~). I was trying to tell everyone that the PM market is the most heavily manipulated in the world with their bullshit HFT. Nothing has changed, dump now and move into BTC.

I bought a fairly large lot from arashd and everything was perfect. Smooth transaction, quick shipping, no bullshit - couldn't ask for more. A+

Bitcoin's Horoscope for Wednesday, February 26th

What once seemed like a chaotic situation is now starting to look like a stable, sensible scenario. There is still an element of disruption in your life, and you may feel that you have problems which are hard to get to grips with. So, don't even try. The faster you run, the faster success will run away from you. The more you struggle, the more you will get caught up in a sticky web of complication. Just continue to stay calm and have faith. You are being blessed with the ability to draw towards you all the help that you need.

There could be money coming your way. Jupiter Uranus tends to bring windfalls or bonuses or the better things of life, and that clearly is going to put you in a much happier frame of mind than you've been. You'll have that sparkling look about you, which is good news. But sometimes you can lose by being too reckless and leaping ahead too fast. Certain people may find you a little threatening as you obviously intend to take over the decision making role.
So you're telling me to buy more GOXBTC hmmmm.
370  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mark K "The coins are not lost, just temporarily unavailable" - chat log on: February 26, 2014, 03:23:16 AM
It means the coins still exist; somewhere... He just doesn't own the private key for them...
Then why say temporarily? That indicates to me that they weren't stolen.

When he said temporary it means, "We just haven't been able to buy them back yet..."
Lol, you're reading more into it than I am.

Where at? I'm on the Treasure Coast. Would you be interested in meeting up if you're nearby?

I warned everyone in the first few pages and painted his trust red. Some of you are just dying to lose money it seems.
376  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: IN STOCK in LOS ANGELES. Gridseed ASICs Batch 2 Limited Stock. on: February 24, 2014, 03:55:44 PM
Would you mind listing just 1 miner on Ebay to confirm your legitimacy with the zoomhash account?
377  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: FEELER: 310GHs of Drillbit Boards + 30GHs of Bitfury USB's on: February 24, 2014, 03:53:55 PM
If willing to split up the lot, I would take the Bitfury USB miners. You have very little feedback here (and none on OTC), so we would have to go with escrow or you would have to send first.
378  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: FS: 4 Antminers @ 800gh/s... Shipping in US only on: February 24, 2014, 03:49:57 PM
Bitmain and Ninjatech are both shipping new units out at 1.45btc now. Going to change my bid to 1btc shipped.
379  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: SLAX CryptoMiner Distro on: February 24, 2014, 04:28:26 AM
I love crypto slax but am having an issue with resolution and module downloads. i can access internet fine, but trying to install any modules from slax.org results in a 'check your connection' error. Max resolution i can get is 800x600 (connected via amd 5450 vga). The .sb are in /modules for amd, catalyst, etc. aticonfig recognizes the adapter. it just cant go higher than 800x600, and what seems to be 16 bit color and horrible type (blurry). couldnt set manual virtual desktop size with xrandr either. I'll probably end up just configuring it remotely.
