Sasha, that's why. He's a great developer and promoter. He has a vision and is a hard a worker
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: August 23, 2017, 11:34:53 AM
After reading this post by Evan https://medium.com/@eduffield222/how-to-enabling-on-chain-scaling-2ffab5997f8b It appears that Dash is going to change the way that Dash handles transactions to something more along the lines of EOS with the delegated proof of stake along with the nodes taking turns processing the transactions to make "mining" fair for all participants.

This is obviously a good path forward but a very serious change to the way things operate and also becoming more "centralized" than it currently is
363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem) on: August 23, 2017, 01:05:22 AM
Sorry if this has already been covered in this thread, it's a long thread and search isn't helping...

What's the value in the current token? Both the site and whitepaper disclaimer that it's worthless.

From the whitepaper:

Quote
PLEASE NOTE: CRYPTOGRAPHIC TOKENS REFERRED TO IN THIS WHITE PAPER REFER TO CRYPTOGRAPHIC TOKENS ON A LAUNCHED BLOCKCHAIN THAT ADOPTS THE EOS.IO SOFTWARE. THEY DO NOT REFER TO THE ERC-20 COMPATIBLE TOKENS BEING DISTRIBUTED ON THE ETHEREUM BLOCKCHAIN IN CONNECTION WITH THE EOS TOKEN DISTRIBUTION.

So from what reasonable speculation is the value of the token derived?

You didn't even try to find the answer or read any of the pages or read any of this page. And for that reason I won't give you the answer to your question

Got it, so you don't know either. I did read, quite a bit here and on another forum, there are hints and vagaries about a token exchange, but nothing investable. Nothing officially sourced, just speculation... 24 pages of drivel.

If the supporters of this token expect others to invest to grow support, providing meaningful information to prospective investors shouldn't be such a labor. Guess i'll pass on this scam if your useless response is to be taken as an indication that this is just a circle-jerk token.

Exactly 4 posts above your question you could have found the answer. Obviously you are the type that needs to be spoon fed everything

Anyone having trouble with the Lite Client ? I can log in but balances don't show. I deleted the account and restored from the seed and nothing show. Not even the history.

There is also another player in this field called OCash more info can be found https://ocash.io/  It is operating on the graphene blockchain, the one which bitshares and steem run. It is being promoted by openledger

good morning, is there still some good and trusted "shared masternode" service around?

Absolutely...splawik services are top notch.  I vouch for him completely.... Have had my masternodes with him for ages.

what is your opinion of masternode.me and its services?

I used to have some shares on masternode.me, it worked really great. It is run and operated by moocowmoo who is one of the lead developers.
Deposits and withdrawals where quick and without any hassles.

+1 for masternode.me  I have used this shared masternode service for over 8 months and have only positive things to say. There was an article a few weeks back about his service. It is fully automated and works great. There is also a deadman switch incase he dies, the funds will automatically be returned to the sending address
367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 21, 2017, 10:40:27 AM
Quite unusual price movements from the slow steady growth that Monero has enjoyed for the past year. Not complaining just observing.

It's hard to believe this spike is just from being added to an exchange. Don't those people have VPN's to buy off other exchanges ?
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: August 21, 2017, 06:28:46 AM
Luckily i had chance to buy it at 80$.

I bought in @ 8 and when it jump to 15 I was too scared to buy more. What a mistake that was. If we could only go back in time

Poloniex is losing its position

I remember when they had over 50k users each day not that long ago. Now it is around 20k.. 30k on big days. I stopped trading there months ago. Funny how Bittrex which took most of their customers don't have the problems with lag and withdrawals that Polo has

371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: August 19, 2017, 12:46:54 PM
I think there is a lot of marketing on this forum already. The speculation threads are full of waves posts saying it will go to the moon with all these new developments, but the price refuses to rise. Once it hits a certain price, the waves whales will dump force it down again. This coin should be well above $5 at this stage of development

It will rise at the right time, if you are following Waves platform development, you will see that they are adding more features, once a lot good token in waves platform is set up there will be an increase in demands.

Slow steady organic growth similar to monero's is the best. Once the dex is complete and we can get a few really good ICO's the price will rise. Many people are aware of waves and the fact that it is a staking coin helps stabilize the price by reducing the liquidity
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Digital Assets Management Platform on: August 18, 2017, 01:42:14 PM
Because the whales of the universe still need to have the experts invest for them. their own time would be too precious.

My worst investment for the latest 6 months. Let's see if ICN can recover till the end of the year.

Me too, I got in about 6 months ago. I dumped half after it doubled to take out my initial investment. The rest I will just let it ride. It's like free money so even if it goes bust I am not out anything.

ICN just has piss poor management and their communication sucks. The future will be bright once everything is rolling.. assuming that regular investment portfolios are still prohibited from investing in crypto. If Fidelity can start investing directly into crypto their won't be much need for ICN. Why would anyone learn crypto and jump through the hoops and verification if they can invest directly within their 401k?

don't be too us-centric as there is a whole world...
anyway we were told that ICN does not want american clients.

The USA is not welcoming towards crypto, why try to get American clients for ICNX and the DAA right now when it is legally not possible? That would be a long and drawn out battle with no guarantee of success, it makes sense for them to dedicate their resources towards the European markets where they will not meet nearly the same amount of resistance. Iconomi trying to get their index funds though in the USA when the Winklevoss twins can't even get a BTC ETF through would be idiotic. After a BTC ETF (hopefully eventually) gets through in the USA, that would signal the doors are opening here.

I don't know how you read my statement and came away thinking that ICN should focus on getting US customers. Reread it if you must. My point was that when people can directly invest through regular brokers there won't be much of a need for ICN.

Columbus Capital LTD will be a minnow in a lake of big investment groups. Have you tried googling it ? When I tried my hits where for places in the US, Australia and articles referencing the partnership with Iconomi. Columbuscapital.com is on the second page of 2 pages of results

373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem) on: August 18, 2017, 01:10:40 PM
EOS is the best option among Eth-like platforms.
I expect at least 20x price increase in a year.

You expect it to have a more than $40 billion market cap?

I don't think 40 but at it's current market cap it is less than NEO which is nothing more than hype. The VC backers also hold half of NEO. There is no way to vote for validators and a barely functioning wallet.

EOS is a great long term investment that will pay off huge in the future. Yes the ICO is long but if it weren't you would see the price like it was in the later part of the first week. FOMO would drive up the price to 5-6$ level
374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: August 18, 2017, 01:01:52 PM
It looks like district0x is entering the same playing field and may cause further pressure on the price of bitbay. Time is of the essence in crypto and this might be a good time to add more devs to speed up the process

376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Hero Token [ICO] PRE-SALE | The Future of Banking in Southeast Asia on: August 18, 2017, 12:56:02 PM
Very nice website. The more that I learn the more excited I am about the potential of PawnHero. The nice thing is that this is already a functioning business that is just poising itself to expand
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Hero Token [ICO] PRE-SALE | The Future of Banking in Southeast Asia on: August 17, 2017, 03:57:51 PM
What kinds of profits has pawnhero had since 2015 ?
How many customers have utilized your service ?

Why do you need the blockchain now .. after being in business for a few years already?
It seems like the just using the app and debit card like you are now

What are you planning on using the cash from the ICO for ?

20% hold back of the tokens is very very large, the 2% for bounties is very very small

I like the idea but am wondering why ? Why does this business need the blockchain and a new round of funding

I am not aware of the profits that pawnhero made or the exact number of customers, someone else will have to answer that.

Regarding Blockchain, because if micro-loans are recorded to the blockchain and everyone can access them, then
they can hold those more accountable for bad behavior. Blockchain as a technology, has the potential to address all these innate
intricacies of the lending process.

With the inherent concept of open ledger, decentralized platform, smart contracts and integrated
central database, blockchain achieves transparency, cost effectiveness, regulatory compliance and risk analysis in the lending process.
By reducing manual reviews, data re-entry and systems reconciliation, the system provides the company with immediate cost savings.
Loan data processing can be done exclusively on the distributed ledger reducing risk and increasing transparency and responsiveness,
the technology itself functions like a regulation.

Regarding what the ICO proceeds will be used for, please refer to page 16 and onward from the Whitepaper since the full explanation is too lengthy to be put here.

The Token Distribution

80% of available token are for sale open to the public
 • 3% of available token are for early believers and advisors
 • 2% of available token are for bounties
 • 15% of available token are allocated to the founders for
long-term alignment of interests

While 15% might seem high, it ensures that the team has an incentive to continue to improve Hero Token, keep in mind ETH had 50% premine and look where it is at now. As for the Bounties, the total Pool is close to 2.000.000$, it is one of the largest Bounties ever to be offered on Bitcointalk, if not the largest, I do not understand how you can call that very very low... Even as a percentage, 2% of Total Sold Tokens is very generous, especially considering the high cap.

If you wish to find out more about Hero Token, try and give the Whitepaper a read, it explains a lot of things very clearly, including the reason behind the ICO and much more than that. The PawnHero Team is comprised of 28 full-time employees, besides being backed by companies such as Alibaba or Softbank and people like Nix Nolledo and Paul Rivera, and they are here to do something useful. There are more people with a facebook account than a bank account, that is why this business needs the blockchain and why the blockchain needs this business.

Thank you for taking the time to answer all of my questions. I have since read the whitepaper and understand much more about PawnHero.

2 things that I didn't find in the whitepaper are where the items are stored , would this not mean that do need brick and mortar all around the areas they service ?

and how they are sold if the people default on their loans
378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [OMG] OmiseGO - Speculation & Discussion on: August 17, 2017, 03:53:20 PM
Currently, my experience with OMG was sad. Bought in 2 times and both times I lost money  Undecided Won't do it again. There is a plenty of choices in what to invest

You only lose money when you sell
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: August 16, 2017, 07:14:53 PM
I bought 45 dash when it was $8... I wanted to sell when dash hit $50 but I didn't. now I am almost sure that by the end of the year dash will be over $350

I bought in right around there too. Do you have enough for a share in masternode.me ? If you have 50 dash you can get 2 shares. I started this last December and have 3 shares. Each week or so I get .11 Dash sent to my wallet. I have just about earned my initial investment back just in dividends from the masternode.
380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [OMG] OmiseGO - Speculation & Discussion on: August 16, 2017, 01:34:13 PM
This is one coin that is dangerous to try and sell and buy back ! I bought at 1.16 and sold some at 2.20 after it dropped from 2.4  It went straight up to 3 and I waited for a slight correction and it was at 5 the next morning.

So Lucky I picked up some more yesterday in the low 6's.

I am moving it to myetherwallet so I eliminate the temptation the play the market with this.
Trying to make pennies and cost me thousands.
Don't day trade OMG, you will make much more hodling
