Dash Holds Near $300 Amid Altcoin Surge


Dash reached and held an all-time high as capital flowed to Bitcoin Cash and other coins.

Over the weekend, Dash broke its previous all-time high record of $260 reached in mid-August to reach a new high of $329, rising from $228 over the course of just a few hours. The price has held fairly well over the past few days, slowly correcting to a present figure of $280. This surge took the market cap past $2 billion where it holds at present, with an all-time high of nearly $2.5 billion, and a brief spot at #5 in the cryptocurrency market cap rankings.

+1 for masternode.me  I have used this shared masternode service for over 8 months and have only positive things to say. There was an article a few weeks back about his service. It is fully automated and works great. There is also a deadman switch incase he dies, the funds will automatically be returned to the sending address

This is obviously a good path forward but a very serious change to the way things operate and also becoming more "centralized" than it currently is

I didn't read anything of the sort in that piece... Evan talks about scaling the hardware a MN runs on such that the network can process very large (several 100 MB) mined blocks. There nothing in there implying that DASH is not going to be proof of work in the future. Collateralized mining is discussed as well, but not only have the details of that not been explained to the community -- it was recently removed from the roadmap (presumably pushed back to focus on Evolution).

Can you quote the section that where "delegated proof of stake" or something similar is mentioned?
