So who else is receiving forum pm's about a new BTC based RPG game to 'test'?

I figure it'll be courtesy of the registration system of this coin.

Make sure you didn't use the same registration password that you use for anything else and be extremely cautious about any offers to download and install programs.

Can you post the, usually required, equivalent BTC per/MH per day rate?

Commercial miners who might not be interested in holding a coin will still mine it if the profitability makes it worthwhile. So if you want to attract higher hashing rates you have to put the figures out there.
3604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRC] | VeriCoin | PoS - Dynamic Interest | No Premine on: June 07, 2014, 02:51:53 PM
Scrypt profitability is also low right now. It's 0.00182053/day profitability  per MH/day at most.

I'd just like to point out that 0.00182 profitability is pretty good these days for scrypt. I've had three Innosilicon A2 90's running since the beginning of May and can attest to the declining returns across all pools over that time.

Given that a higher hashrate for the VRC pool will also contribute to its market price, it is a double-edged sword anyway because the payouts will be less as fewer can be bought on the market with the profits from the pool.

If you can reliably earn more BTC elsewhere and buy VRC before it has gone up in price then go for it. I just don't think the market will stay still that long right now.

if only all woman involved in crypto made an alliance, a girls guild made to hold this coin

Perhaps if this thread didn't have pics of hot chicks in skimpys in the opening posts. I get that some of you are still somewhat juvenile about how you express yourselves on the topic of women, but surely you can see that it's not exactly going to enhance the spread of the coin to be alienating the very people it is claiming to support.

Any chance of fitting in a link to a countdown clock on the OP for when exactly the second POW stage begins?
3607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SIM] Simcoin - A Simple Coin on: June 07, 2014, 07:41:08 AM
I mean, recent discussions are mostly about how we should call our tentacle overlord.

Is there anything else for us to do at this point?

Monkeys, don't forget we spoke about monkeys as well . . .and sticks.

3608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SIM] Simcoin - A Simple Coin on: June 07, 2014, 07:19:53 AM
All I need now is to figure out where to put "Galactic" in there and I'm all set.

Tentacle Overlord, The Deranged Genius of The Galactic Abyss

It.Has.Everything.

3609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SIM] Simcoin - A Simple Coin on: June 06, 2014, 11:06:55 AM
So, enjoy your comfort up there. For now.

Oh I'm in for the IPO, so I'm not quite remaining up in the canopy. It's dull up there, far more interesting watching you choosing sticks.

3610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRC] | VeriCoin | PoS - Dynamic Interest | No Premine on: June 06, 2014, 10:13:01 AM
Holy hell, a shit-ton of small multipool payouts just went through to an exchange address. That's going to piss them off.

Time to use a wallet address methinks.

3611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SIM] Simcoin - A Simple Coin on: June 06, 2014, 10:09:09 AM
Well given the number of deranged idiots on this forum, I guess a deranged genius will at least make for interesting reading.

Such spirit. I wager fifteen quatloos that he is untrainable.

3612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] Crypti | Release June | 100% POS | New Source on: June 05, 2014, 04:53:39 PM
Is it possible to get the details of who is on the full team for this project?

Given that there have been a number of IPOs recently that took the money and ran, it would certainly raise the credibility stakes if we could learn who the actual brains behind this new concept are.
3613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRC] | VeriCoin | PoS - Dynamic Interest | No Premine on: June 05, 2014, 04:50:07 PM
Good stuff so far. Any news on when to expect VRC payouts on the scrypt multipool?

Did a payout on the multipool a few hours ago...

No further payouts?
3615  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners (Scrypt ASIC seller) independent feedback thread on: May 31, 2014, 05:51:29 AM
moderated threads should be pink so they are easy to spot

That is an excellent idea.
3616  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners (Scrypt ASIC seller) independent feedback thread on: May 30, 2014, 11:28:58 AM
Gaw Miners has high integrity

Yeah, we can see that integrity being sprayed all over the GAW thread by sock-puppet fan-boy accounts.

As has been said, GAW must be desperate if they are having to crap all over someone else's thread. Got a valid criticism GAW, or just dropping by to fling poo at your fellow countrymen?

Classy.
3617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] ipoMiner - Profitable multipool targeting new coins on: May 30, 2014, 08:33:46 AM
@IPOMiner: FYI Bitstar (BITS) POW has ended. You should shut down that port so that the few miners on it will failover to their alternate pools, otherwise they are just wasting electricity.

3618  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners (Scrypt ASIC seller) independent feedback thread on: May 28, 2014, 01:53:06 PM
Did anyone ever see a response from GAW about my enquiry regarding the temperatures their chips run at?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=529093.msg6894368#msg6894368

I got the feeling they quickly doused that question with the spray of a thousand fawning fan-boy accounts gushing about how super-duper GAW is.
3619  Other / Meta / Re: Automatic rejection for whole-post-quoting, please. on: May 26, 2014, 04:12:21 PM
Ok then, how about a compromise, say instead of rejecting the post outright, it displays a warning similar to the one you get when someone has added to a thread while you are writing your reply?

Something along the lines of asking them if they are absolutely sure they want to full-quote a post and that, if they don't need to, it would be good forum etiquette for them to edit it down to just the parts they want to reference.

Whilst some will just ignore it, I'm sure that plenty of members who are inexperienced forum users would certainly reconsider this bad habit.

Staff workload reduced somewhat, thread readability improved, nobody kicked in the nuts and thrown to the kerb. Everybody happy!

3620  Other / Meta / Re: Automatic rejection for whole-post-quoting, please. on: May 26, 2014, 11:24:34 AM
@shorena, see how I addressed you there without needing to even quote you? Neat, huh?

@hilariousandco - My suggestion is one that would allow for discussion threads to be made considerably tidier and easier to read through, fact not opinion, while, at the same time, reducing the Mods' workload by automatically preventing whole-post quoting because it is something rarely justified or needed. It would also save on having to both report and deal with whole-post-quoted-useless-one-liners, such as '+1'. You, on the other hand, don't want such a change to be made because, well you just don't.
