Did anyone here also watch the last Lakers vs GSW game?

I confess that I was surprised with the performance of the Lakers, AD as expected carried the team on his back, and that was clear, he scored 39 points!

Well, incredible as it may seem, even though the Warriors played with their full team (Curry + Thompson + Green), they lost to the Lakers.

I know this result is not expected, but I believe that, even though the Lakers have these problems in a general way, they can be a dangerous team, especially if LJ is there to guide them to victory!

The broadcast rights for the World Cup are purchased by a lot of countries that are not represented. However, it probably costs less than a broadcast right to a participating country. The additional number of participants per region is still unknown to me, but I anticipate that Europe and CONCACAF will receive more. It may be unfair to countries that are stronger than those from other regional confederations, such as Asia, but were unable to qualify for the World Cup. Additionally, more fans are anticipated to attend, which will result in increased revenue for FIFA and the host country.

What is the injustice? Name the countries that are strong enough to get to the World Cup but they don't have enough tickets? I think that you are unlikely to name such teams from the Asian region that would be stronger than the corresponding teams from Europe. The World Cup should be a tournament of the strongest teams in the world, and not a festival of teams that get a ticket only because of geography.
Not wanting to discredit the other teams, but I also agree with holding a world cup selecting the best teams, in a way, practice football in their country.

Well, an interesting factor that I noticed in this last World Cup, several teams are evolving and standing out in the World Cup, especially in Qatar, in my entire life I would never have imagined that Morocco could reach where it did in the World Cup.

With these various events happening, various teams (weak or strong) are training hard, for a chance to participate in the world cup and surprise everyone!

The Phoenix Suns are now officially a very scary team after the game against Chicago and they just boost their chances to win the Finals this year. Devin Booker seems like he's getting back to his old self with Durant on their team as he now have more spaces to make shots. Just like what I've said before, It is impossible to double team Durant, Booker, CP3, and Ayton all at the same play.
I may not be rooting for them to win the championship, but I cant deny the fact how strong this team is. Does Chris Paul finally get his first ring this year? Let's see about that lol.
That's the intention! Be a scary team!

Well, with Durant joining the Suns, it's all-important and I have no doubt that he will be one of the most talked about and dangerous teams in the NBA.

Honestly, I hope the Suns can be NBA champions this season!
With all due respect but they deserve that ring lol

Did I mention Pakistan in my comment? Did I say there is no interest in football in any Asian country? On the contrary, I noticed how much football has progressed in many Asian countries, and I particularly highlighted Japan, South Korea and China. However, the fact remains that this development is not balanced and equal in all Asian countries, and I stand behind it.
Football is definitely not the number one sport in India, as far as I heard from the interview with their Croatian coach Stimac.
the world cup is a very prestigious event and many people are crazy about it, even the average country in the world is investing heavily in preparation for the 2026 world cup but it's a shame that football is not a popular sport in india but cricket even though they have a large population and it's impossible not to have big football talent there

korea, japan, saudi arabia, australia are countries that have always been representatives of asia because in these countries football is their main focus

Reading your comment, I also agree with what you said...
These countries are references for ""being on the Asian continent"", but a country that can become a reference and also have an improved technical level of football is China!
Do you believe that China will be able to become some kind of football reference in the world in the future?

Or is this impossible to happen?

In fact LeBron James is injured, and will be sidelined, this is terrible for the Lakers, as LJ is the team's guide.
But I saw on a website that LeBron James could play again, even though he was injured, he could participate in regular season games to help the Lakers.
LeBron does not need to undergo surgery, so most likely, he will be back soon, as his team really needs him.

Well, regarding the Lakers x Timberwolves game, it was extremely clear that AD is an excellent player, even though he was playing without LJ, he managed to play his basketball and help the team significantly.
Schroder wasn't able to score like in the previous games, but on the other hand, Schroder had 12 assists, most of which went to AD.

Look, I believe that without LJ the Lakers are unlikely to make the playoffs.
But for the team to get a seed, AD and especially the other players will have to play extremely well to fill the absence of LJ

Yes, AD is unstoppable, but the Lakers cannot rely too much on him, as that will only put him in an injury-prone situation again. Without LeBron, this team will not make it to the playoffs, but once he is back, I think there's still a chance, as they have been playing well so far since Westbrook got traded. It's just sad that LeBron has been out for a while.
Well, LJ's situation is not extremely serious, but he needs to be away for recovery, I also agree that the team needs him, because he is the reference player for the team and I have no doubts that he makes a big difference for the team. lakers

By the way, for a while I even forgot that the Lakers are playing now, and oddly enough the Lakers are ahead of the Warriors by 3 points (91-88)

AD is carrying the Lakers on his back, and he's already scored 31 points.

Anyone else following this game?

Lakers are toast.  With LeBron out they won't be able to sustain any kind of winning streak.  They are essentially a non factor whenever it comes to playoff scenerios.Lebron needs to split he doesn't have much time left and this Lakers team just isn't it.

Scorers like Dennis and Austin who mostly provide help if LeBron is not around did not show up their explosive games, AD can handle the interior and can make big shots but against 5 players who are distributing the ball,

It will be a tough job for AD. He needed role players who can help him both sides, playing defense and offense
while inside the court, they needed LeBron to push their chance to move forward to the next round.

In fact LeBron James is injured, and will be sidelined, this is terrible for the Lakers, as LJ is the team's guide.

It's all about taking benefits whenever they host a world cup in their country. However, the Al-Nassr case is different than the world cup because these are not in some countries, but regardless of that the moment when Qatar hosted the world cup they could get many demands on their country and this definitely helped many businesses there and there is some situation every time for any country the host world cup that's why we think America and the countries they host the world cup can get many many financial benefits to form the world cup in 2026.
Yes, I have no doubts about that.
In fact, hosting games at a world level for example, Olympics and especially the World Cup, I have no doubt that countries will have a huge opportunity to show their country to the whole world!

I believe, we will have several events taking place in the next world cup, a greater number of teams participating in the 2026 cup, and also, 3 countries hosting the world cup (Canada/Mexico/USA), I have no doubt that tourism for these countries will intensify during the 2026 world cup
388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: March 04, 2023, 08:10:55 PM
I think you're right.
I followed the Indian national football team a little because they have a Croatian coach, Stimac.
It's obvious that football in India does not have the same tradition or popularity as in other countries.
Very few people play football in India, the league is weak and uninteresting, there are no rich sponsors and finances, there is no media interest etc.
The Indian national team is weak and they have never been close to qualifying for the World Cup.
I think the situation is similar with some other Asian countries.

Yes, and I believe this will be the trend.

After the World Cup in Qatar, I have no doubt that many people, businessmen and players, looked at football in a different way, mainly in the Middle East and some Asian countries.
They saw the potential that this type of sport can generate and influence people
and generate money.

We saw this after Al-Nassr signed Cristiano Ronaldo, and I still believe more teams will be able to do the same

I have no doubt, in the 2026 World Cup, several countries will have improved and increased their level of quality in football, day after day countries are practicing football and the tendency is for more teams to do this.
389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 04, 2023, 07:45:18 PM
Despite scoring 38 points, Davis was unable to carry his team to victory. The Lakers really need LeBron; although they have won some games without him, their playoff chances might be at risk without consistency. It was a home game, so they were supposed to win with their home advantage, but they lacked energy, the ball movement seemed lost, and they relied too much on their big man AD."
So that's an interesting factor...
In the victory against OKC, most of the Lakers players scored, and they won the match without LJ and AD.

I have no doubt that in the game against the Timberwolves, AD would be the team's reference player, and indeed he was, AD scored 38 points, KAT was not playing, but Gobert played, in my view, AD played extremely well against the Timberwolves and mainly against Gobert.

I believe what happened in this last Lakers game was that the other players didn't perform relevantly to help the team to beat the Timberwolves.

Let's see if in the next games the Lakers can reverse these losses they had!
Tomorrow he will play against GSW and during the week against the Grizzlies

The Brooklyn Nets finally defeats the Celtics in the NBA after 10 consecutive loss in this fixture, without KD, Kyrie, James Harden or even Ben Simmons, from being down by 28 points in the game, It's freaking surreal!
I confess that I was surprised by this defeat by Boston.
The Celtics were performing very well, but even so, the Nets managed to reduce that point difference and win the match.

A game that I was extremely bad, was Lakers x Timberwolves, with a possible return of AD and another KAT game would be absent, I imagined that the chance of the Lakers win was greater, well... this was another game that I was terrible in my bets lol
391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: March 04, 2023, 09:39:46 AM
From the beginning maybe it got fixed as the westerners game. Maybe if some other country have ruled over the Asian countries in the past football might've gained more popularity. Most of the nations were under the British rule and the officers during those days used to spend time on staged fights and cricket. For that reason cricket have got good support from certain part of the continent and some part prioritise athletes. Slowly the transition could happen as more people have begun to give importance to football.
I think what you said is plausible.
In general, I believe that one of the reasons is the traditions that each country has, I have no doubt that this is one of the important factors about it.

On the other hand, Asian countries have an excellent performance during the Olympics, and countries in which "only" football is seen with other eyes, for example Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and others, have a poor performance during the Olympics. .
392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 04, 2023, 09:29:09 AM
Epic collapse on Boston’s part. They looked downright lazy in the second half. Not getting out to defend shooters and settling for terrible three pointers. I think they got a big lead and then just stopped trying. Tatum shot horribly from three point range and Marcus Smart was getting called for fouls left and right. Great comeback for Brooklyn.
In the first period, Boston played very good, it was clear that the team's performance dropped a lot in the second half, and the Nets took advantage of this opportunity
I was surprised with the result of that game.

By the way, did anyone else here saw the Lakers vs Timberwolves game?
What did you think about that game guys?
393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 03, 2023, 10:50:30 PM
Man, I can say all the bottom teams in the West needs every win they could possible get for the remainder of the season, so every game is a very important game that someone who's vital for the team needs to play even with a minor injury. #4 down to #13 does not guarantee a playoff spot until the season is over. With less than 20 games remaining in the season, games will get interesting to watch.
I'm not so certain about the Lakers though if both LeBron and AD is out.
Yes, I confess that I didn't do the calculations to know exactly the wins/losses that the teams need to have to get a seed lol
but most teams are in a delicate situation if they really want a seed for these playoffs.

I read some news, but LeBron will not play against Timberwolves, and KAT will also be out, but AD will possibly play
(I don't really know if this is true information)
394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: March 03, 2023, 10:40:17 PM
Japan is probably the best one at the moment. South Korea does have a great team as well though.

But yeah, in general the Asian countries don't really shine in the football arena. Not sure why, maybe they lack a bit of passion for it?

They do seem to have been excellent in other areas so I'm thinking maybe they are not that interested in football.
I admit this is an interesting question...

But honestly, I don't know, maybe that happens because part of the Asian population is not a big fan of football and it's not a very widespread and practiced sport there.

It is not a habit or a tradition of the Asian people, unlike Brazil, that when a large part of the population is born, they already receive a soccer ball as a gift or some kind of uniform from a Brazilian team or even, they already begin to have contact with football at the beginning of school life.

Of course, what I said is just a presumption on my part, but I believe that this may be or may have happened to some Asian countries.
395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 03, 2023, 10:25:32 PM
It was a great start for the Lakers winning without Davis and LeBron. Schroder led the team in scoring with 26 points, and I believe this guy really deserves a good contract as he is a true definition of consistency. Although OKC is not a top team, they are still a good team. That's why I said it was a big win for the Lakers.
Yes, I commented on something similar in another post on the same subject.

Although OKC is not a top team, it is in a similar situation as the Lakers in the championship (battling also to get a seed in the playoffs), I have no doubt that OKC did everything to win that game, because for both teams the victory is important.

Tomorrow the Lakers will play against the Timberwolves, I believe it will be an interesting game, if I'm not mistaken AD will be able to play, but KAT I believe not yet.
I dont know, It might be a good idea to bet on Lakers
396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 03, 2023, 09:53:14 PM
I can't really say that I totally expected that outcome because at the back of my mind, it's hard to disregard that the Lakers are much more vulnerable in that game because there was no LeBron and Davis on the court to help them and lift the team whenever they needed it. But it shows that they can still manage well and the absence of both superstars gave Schroder a moment to gain another experience that will help him to be more confident during clutch time or intense games especially if they can participate in the play-in.
Yes, exactly!
Well, even though the Lakers aren't that far off OKC in the championship.

Now, if the Lakers manage to maintain a great consistency of victories with or without LJ and AD, that will be a good sign (which in my opinion this could happen).
The Lakers will do anything to get a seed in these playoffs!

Tomorrow they will play against the Timberwolves, it will be an interesting game to watch, as Minnesota is in a similar position to the Lakers in the championship, I have no doubt that this victory will be important for both teams
397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 02, 2023, 04:25:32 AM
Most likely that the Lakers will become stronger and perform better in the playoffs as their chemistry and experience as a team will be further developed.

This is a very interesting game for the Lakers. Memphis Grizzlies is going to be their toughest team to face so far since their final reconstruction before the trade deadline. This is like an even game but I still slightly favor the home team knowing how very good Memphis is when playing in their court. The Lakers may be 3-0 in their last but Memphis in its last game was able to beat the top team in the west and is 4-0 in its previous games at home.
Well, the Lakers v Grizzlies game was interesting.
Morant, as expected, played extremely well, as for the Lakers, with the absence of LeBron James, I have no doubt that he left the Lakers more fragile, but even so, AD led the team (28 points and 19 rebounds).

In the OKC x Lakers game, Los Angeles team played well, and somehow managed to supply (even if superficially the absence of LJ and AD)
I confess that I'm liking how Schroder has been playing lately for the Lakers, in addition to being consistent (in games/score) he is also managing to lead the team if necessary
398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 02, 2023, 04:11:42 AM
They need to play with high consistency, as the competition in the West is getting tighter now that Durant and Irving are playing for their respective teams. As of now, they are ranked number 12 but still very close to rank 4, so every game matters for a team that doesn't have a secure ranking.
Quote
And of course, no player can get any injury, especially LeBron or AD
I'm more concern on AD.
Exactly, that's the word, consistency!

I believe all the Lakers players will do anything to win, but the trick is that, as they are playing as much as they can, there could be a possibility that some player will be injured.
Darvin Ham will have to carry out a great administration and manage to rotate the players, so that they are not overloaded.

Well, in my humble opinion I believe the Lakers will reach the playoffs in this season, maybe get a 7 seed or 8 seed.
399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 28, 2023, 06:35:15 AM
It's true. All teams are going to try harder to secure a playoff spot especially those in the brink of being dragged to the play-in tournament if ever they lose more and those in the 11-13 seeds trying to climb even just for a play-in and have a chance for the 7th and 8th spot after the small tournament. We need to observe those teams more. The Lakers are a good example.
Hmm... what you said, I confess it's totally plausible.
Thanks for your explanation.

I didn't think of it that way, but I have no doubt that several teams will do anything to get at least a seed in the playoffs of this season.

Well, regarding the Lakers, as incredible as it may seem, I believe they will be able to get some seed in this season, but for that to happen they need to stand out and play extremelly well!
And of course, no player can get any injury, especially LeBron or AD
400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 27, 2023, 08:10:27 PM
I did but not for the LA Clippers.  Cheesy
I made two separate parlays on the late games.

Luckily, it won and it could've been better if I went for just one 4 way parlay. But a win is still profits so I am okay with it.
I missed the Warriors game and just watching the highlights now. Also, missed the Trail Blazers game and just found out in the reports that Dame went nuts with 71 points. That's crazy.
Nuggets vs Clippers though I didn't miss. That is one hell of an entertaining game that went to overtime thanks to Porter's three-pointer and then PG13 coming back to get a foul.
They still haven't lost a game whenever Jokic makes a triple-double.
Well, I think that's less bad!

I have no doubt, this regular season will be interesting, and I also realized that some teams are doing everything to win in these last games.

Incredible as it may seem, I realized that is much more difficult to win/settle bets at the end of the regular season.
I've been losing too often lol

Guys, does this also happen to you?
