381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: DO NOT TRADE WAVES WITH YOBIT! WARNING on: June 01, 2016, 04:19:13 PM
How is this any different to trading margins or futures?

Either you trust the exchange or you don't.
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Ever wonder why BTCE price is always lower than everywhere else? on: June 01, 2016, 04:17:05 PM
This comment crosses the line I think, and may earn you a well deserved ban. Racism is not cool

Well, I don't think it is racist. It is however prejudice based on stereotyping bigotry. There are lots of cool, hardworking Russians involved in crypto and, as for scammers, no nation has a monopoly on that!  Grin
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RibbitRewards - World's first blockchain rewards program [Airdrop is now!] on: June 01, 2016, 04:09:18 PM

Thank you. Makes it hard IMO for coin to rise up with that many coins.

I can't see how the number of coins can make any difference unless you are thinking purely in terms of market price per coin?
The only exception would be a large proportion controlled by few or one persons - this can have a bearing on market speculation.
384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Ethereum, Lisk, Rise, Waves, DAO | Which is the SUPERIOR platform? on: June 01, 2016, 04:01:15 PM
Waves have a clear start after their wildly successful crowd-sale.

They also have huge development resources and can learn a lot from the Etherium adventure.
385  Other / Off-topic / Re: Recent music that have blown you away?? on: June 01, 2016, 03:11:37 PM
I'm looking around for some new music to add to my collection, I listen to pretty much everything.

You could do a lot worse than check out the latest EP from Massive Attack!  Grin

386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: wallet.dat password question on: June 01, 2016, 02:49:34 PM
i have my wallet encrypted on my pc..
i just changed this password.. i was wondering if i have to reback it up or if the backup i have, which is secure, is still ok with the old password.
Your question is not clear.

If you backup your current wallet, then the backup would have the new password.

If you want to restore an old backup created before you changed the password, then it will use the old password.

i was just wondering if there was something in the system that would make my old backup not work if i changed the password.
The old backup will still work, you will just need to use your old password and any addresses generated after changing your password will not be in your old backup.

Indeed. Encrypting or changing the password on the wallet.dat you are currently using will not be reflected on any copies you have lying around on cloud drives or other media.
You need to be a bit careful!
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waves Exchange Speculation Thread - Raised over 29,000 BTC on: June 01, 2016, 02:42:15 PM
Most people are offering to sell at 0.001 now.

The question is will there be any buyers at that price.

Would seem so at:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1495059.0

offers going higher than that now.

I see this hitting .02 by the fall.
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: █████ ***** THE ZEROCASH SOURCE - on: June 01, 2016, 02:36:50 PM
I too will mine this but can anyone recommend the best most efficient mining set up or pool etc?

Maybe someone mining the testnet could do a quick walkthrough?
389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waves already trading at yobit on: June 01, 2016, 02:34:54 PM
That was quick - ist this some kind of futures market?  Cheesy
390  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have you ever lost Bitcoin? on: June 01, 2016, 02:33:22 PM
Have you ever lost Bitcoin?

If that happened, why?   Was it your own fault,  or were you scammed?

Indeed. I got scammed out of 2.5 BTC (When it was $1000) clicking on an adsense link here for an ASIC miner.

Very well crafted website (a 1 instead of an I in the URL), mailing list, order feedback and emails, etc etc

Still my own fault but it was so well done I didn't beat myself up too much about it.  Huh
391  Other / Off-topic / Re: Earning a living with bitcoin? on: June 01, 2016, 02:26:32 PM
Wow! Kudos to anyone earning a living with Bitcoin.
The great thing about trading cryptos is that you get a level of access to the exchanges far and away above anything for free in the fiat or traditional assets world - if you are good with JSON that is!
392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Unveiling the truth over the major Monero scam on: April 10, 2015, 03:58:17 PM
Interesting that on the day the Bytecoin devs release the polished cryptonote gui wallet..

Monero devs, and their shills, coincidentally choose that day to restart their FUD games and directly attack Bytecoin devs.

If any actions bring into focus their choice of Scam, Pump and FUD methods over development it is this.

Thank you, Monero devs - your actions speak for themselves and need no further explanation.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=355689

i just saw a thread about bytecoin popping up and was like WTF they are still alive...

Lol! With the tsunami of Monero threads (most also self-moderated) you would be forgiven for thinking that about any coin other than monero. That's why I have mainly stayed away from BCT.
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: September 25, 2014, 10:18:51 PM
If you have to resort to intentionally using the wrong word for something, it's probably because your argument was specious to begin with.

They are paid shills, quite obviously.

You have committed the cardinal sin of a troll and FUD merchant coming on this thread - you have become repetitive and boring.

You sound like a broken record and we have heard the same tripe over and over time and time again!

You have confirmed your own irrelevance. Go away and bore a Monero thread instead!  Cheesy
394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: September 25, 2014, 10:14:37 PM
Jesus!
Is there a war running?
I mean... I've been interested in cryptonote's protocol, but man... that's a lot of reading.

Monero and boolberry are carrying on the cryptonote protocol now, nothing really to see here besides a few sockpuppets spewing the same lines over and over again.

No, just boys pushing a shit-clone called Monero.

Don't you know the difference between a clone and a fork?  You must be new here.   Smiley

Dash is a clone of Bytecoin.  Monero, Boolberry, and DarkNote are forks of Bytecoin.

If you have to resort to intentionally using the wrong word for something, it's probably because your argument was specious to begin with.

He is technically correct in calling Monero a clone of Bytecoin. There is not a shred of evidence, despite the Monero fanatics spewing their bile, that Monero has added any thing of material benefit to the cryptonote reference coin - BYTECOIN.  Cheesy
395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero (XMR) Price Freefall on: September 21, 2014, 01:18:11 PM
LOL as if the price would ever go below 1$... What a retard

ROFL! It's almost there now! Wait till Poloniex suspend!  Grin
396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MONERO XMR DROPPING LIKE A STONE GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN! on: September 21, 2014, 10:16:43 AM
I just sold all mine.

I had a PM from someone in the know that [XMR] is being dropped from Poloniex Monday a.m.

I know someone who got stung in a blockchain fork - however this is much worse!  Angry
397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DSH] Dashcoin Speculation on: September 13, 2014, 04:15:49 PM
Good morning. Today I provide my market analysis for fun.
A new day, new sentiment and we have now forgot everything from the dump yesterday.
I still think my CALL for reaching 0.01 in September is very possible but it ultimately depends on if BTC rebounds before the end of the month. The key is to hunt for whales the next run up. Daytrading whales like Stinker and pooper, needs to get left behind the train so they have to buy back in expensive. We need another fresh non-dashcoin whale possible taking price up 0.0005 or so, so our Dashcoin daytrading whales have to surrender and buy in. If you are gonna buy in, buy in with force. We need to get stinker and pooper afraid of missing out on cheap sub 0.006 coins. This is actually a little joke on the effect whales can have, I don't think it matters actually in the longterm we could also do a run up with many small fishes. It would only take like 400 BTC to break resistance at 0.006 and this is nothing in the altcoin market.

Here is a chart that is interesting, USD marketcap has not yet broken it's all time high, but is very close to and I predict that Dashcoin will be affected by next BTC price swing. When BTC rebounds back up to 550+ USD, Dashcoins USD all time high marketcap will be broken and no one knows for sure at what price level we will stabilize after that. Dashcoin is for me a longterm coin and not a pump n dump, so I would be very afraid to daytrade at this price level instead of just holding.

Fascinating stuff - but what does it mean?  Huh
398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DSH] Dashcoin Speculation on: September 11, 2014, 09:35:24 PM
I think DSH Dashcoin will hit 0.1 BTC by Christmas!

It is obvious that DSH Dashcoin is the premier replacement coin. In fact, second only to Bitcoin itself.

It is so technically advanced that it is elevated beyond the, so called ALTs. It is to be known hence forth as a REP coin.

The only reason that it has not, so far surpassed the market cap of Bitcoin is due to the traction and reach of Bitcoin. This will not last long.

I am guessing that your post is just a little 'tongue in cheek' ?

Ah great! Thanks for compiling this list.

It's a great help to find all the info in one place because the front few pages of BitCoinTalk - ALT seem to be swamped with spam for shitcoins!  Shocked
