sent 2 BTC to a wrong address

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the world, and lose his own soul?

yes..lost on gambling Smiley

I think the main source of loosing btc is gambling and ok maybe also unskilled trading. For me I lost my coins while gambling but still hope to recover them xD
Of course people are losing some Bitcoin and that is not that bad because you can learn from your mistakes and that is really nice for you because you can do next time better.
And of course it will be nice if there will be more people that is selling Bitcoin later in the future with a lot of profit but it can just take a long time.

yep, on freebit.co.in dice game, was so fckn stupid, around 0.7 btc
I also have lost some Bitcoins on some of these online gambling site. I do not use my Bitcoins for gambling any more because it is just a waist of Bitcoins.
Holding on to your Bitcoins is a far better idea then gambling them away.

Yes i lost some of my bitcoin i was scammed of ponzi, that was happened on my newbie rank,
most of my investment got scam and never been back,
but now i learned a lot because of this site. thanks bitcointalk

I also experienced the same thing, when a beginner I invest 0.4  on the site ponzi, and it was not my mistake, because when it I did not know about ponzi. but it was a mistake of my friends, have advised me to invest in the sites that.

Yes.. I've lost my coins multiple times during the past four years. Some of the incidents are mentioned below:

1. Lost around BTC30.000 by investing in LTC-Global. I had BTC-AT shares, and they became worthless after the exchange closed down.
2. Lost around BTC0.05 when instawallet closed down. I never bothered to keep the backups.
3. Lost around BTC0.01 in the Mt.Gox scandal
4. Lost BTC0.100 after investing in LABCOIN
5. Lost BTC0.010 after losing private key to one of my wallets in blockchain.info.

I have never lost Bitcoins as in having been scammed but I have forgotten the password for several Blockchain and other wallets before where I was holding a little amount of Bitcoins but that was all my fault anyways. I think I have lost approx. 0.1BTC. But I don't keep any coins on Bitcoin exchanges so I am fortunate enough to having avoided all the security breaches going around lately.

It is sad, but I think you've got lessons from the loss of bitcoin you experienced. I hope you are more trusting of a real investment that is storing the bitcoin as much as possible and wait for the price of the bitcoin up or trade

Have you ever lost Bitcoin?

If that happened, why?   Was it your own fault,  or were you scammed?

I'm not gambling I only used paypal to when ever I buy product or services and if I am going to buy using Bitcoin I made sure it from trusted site, and I always triple check before I send Bitcoin, because when you send your bitcoin you cannot bring it back again through charge back..

Indeed. I got scammed out of 2.5 BTC (When it was $1000) clicking on an adsense link here for an ASIC miner.

Very well crafted website (a 1 instead of an I in the URL), mailing list, order feedback and emails, etc etc

Still my own fault but it was so well done I didn't beat myself up too much about it.  Huh
