Going through the last 18 hours of WO reminds me of this:

This reminds me of alients in the "Edge of tomorrow" flick (with T. Cruise and E. Blunt).
It was not bad at all, better than expected.

LOL, was thinking the same. Smiley

Next year we should move to the Sleeper platform. I’m telling y’all it’s the best FF platform now hands down. ESPN once upon a time was the best. At this time Yahoo was absolutely garbage. Then Yahoo started getting better and ESPN started to go down hill. Now I would probably say ESPN is better (which I’ve been very vocal about ESPN sucking for quite some time).

Yahoo is now filled with bugs and just going down hill. Sleeper on the other hand continues to improve almost daily.  They are all about doing what the FF community wants, and have been very open to suggestions. From the draft set up, to the information they provide, I’m telling y’all Sleeper is where it’s at now.

People are always so resistant to change, and I understand that, but let’s just take the year to think it over ?

I will probably make some sort of post write up explaining Sleeper in better detail and show some side by side comparisons to it vs ESPN & Yahoo.

@Hueristic you complaining a bit about Yahoo and how they didn’t update the Kupp injury which kinda screwed you was what triggered me to make this write up. I really think you guys will love Sleeper.

Anyway..I’m happy to go w the flow of what the league wants as a whole, just a suggestion.

Everyone enjoy your weekend and see you on the battle fields tomorrow! Smiley

Did Sleeper fix the PPFD stats?

That was what made it a non starter and the fact they ghosted me when I reported it.

But yes I agree we should look to move for next year.

I also don't like the fact that Yahoo is selling my lineup.

Okay but you might regret it. I am hearing some rumors that Stafford will be back to his superbowl winning performance and Kupp might be out of IR on week 3! This will certainly put me in the playoffs hehehehe.

In any case, does anyone else speculate that something is wrong with Aaron Rodgers? He is thin, he is taking mushrooms, he appears strange in some interviews because maybe he was on mushrooms. It is head scratching.

I would not be shocked if it was suddenly announced that he is fighting cancer or a sickness.

Haha, that would be something! Cheesy

I think Rogers is just old now.

This week I'm taking Miami @ -3... Tua's looking pretty good, this could be the year the Dolphins finally win a divisional championship, at least. Last time that happened was 1984, lol.

Oh shit you just jinxed concussion boy on me! Tongue

gl, I'm surprised the colts are underdogs

Just checked your team and yeah you got the shaft on that Eagles game. Its Penny's fault for Holding!

I got boned with Goedert  on my other team as well, was gonna run with Henry that I picked up but chickened out and stuck Goedert  back in at the last second! LOL w00ps.

It will be interesting to see how Kupp plays out.  I think there's a real chance he doesn't play the entire season.  It doesn't sound good based off the news that he was traveling across the country to see a specialist and I don't think we've heard how that went.  Not a good sign.

Yeah I made the mistake of grabbing him at the end of the second on another team as I hadn't heard he got injured and friggin yahoo didn't have it listed so I was like shit cant pass that up even though i had that thought of him boning me in the past.

I figure if worst comes to worst he should be around for week 10 and hopefully doesn't re-injure like he did to me a few years back when I swore him off.

So I have no issue trading a serviceable WR as I have a few of them and he should help out come play off time if I'm in by then.

I think due to Van sucking and those other 2 wr's stepping up I don't think his target share will be as large as it used to be and he was really only a top target in ppr formats to begin with.

I think that Puka kid is going to be LA WR1 and when Kupp gets back it will be a WR1a/b thing.

Holy Shit just noticed I didnt get fucked with injuries first week like the last 2 years! Better knock on wood. Cheesy
I did try to draft mitigating injury chances but it really can be a crap shoot.

Haha, right after I wrote that this popped up (He's my #1 overall on another team).   https://twitter.com/danielrpopper/status/1702797603594006778?s=46&t=WCK9Qjjqglqbehoc9NnkiA

I thought you wanted Kupp and you had a proposal already hehehe. Your offer is Higgins? However, it would be difficult for you because my player is injured and he might not be 100% if plays again after week 5.

Haha, good try, try again if you want but that's a non starter.

This makes sense once you realize that the agencies tasked with regulation and oversight can't even decide what is and what isn't a security even as they decide to charge you with selling a security without a licence.

I think Binance comes out of this relatively unscathed with lessons learned for all involved.

Soma

Very well said! The regulators are still pretending to be in a crypto wild west. Although personally, I believe they are in a regulations wild west.

To play a devil's advocate, the fact of regulating would automatically add legitimacy to the asset. You cannot fight/ban/(deny ETF of) an asset that you yourself "regulate". They cannot regulate and claim something is being manipulated at the same time. While there's no clear signal from above (whether to embrace or fight BTC) market will quietly decide for them which suits me just fine. Slow and steady, tick tock...

regulators set confusing conflicting and arbitrary difficult rules on many things to benefit insiders and they have been doing it for many years and will continue to do so until it doesn't pay.

Nothing new here.

It might be a similar situation for Cooper Kupp also. The first reports said that he will be out for only week 1 then news updates came that he will be out for 4 weeks. However, there are other speculations that it might be questionable if he can return by week 10. This is more than 50% of the regular season without my best widereceiver.

you wanna trade?

Who do you propose to trade from your team? If Cooper Kupp is healthy after week 5 and if that week was the week of the draft, I reckon he would certainly be within top 5 in all rankings. I do not want a trade unless it is a fair trade.

You make an offer, I havn't looked at your team (I remember your qbs are as weak as mine) but if you find something i'll take a look.

He might be my saviour hehehehe.

I guess I'll bring it up since nobody else has:

What's with Aaron Rodgers' and Sauce Gardner's doobie brothers handshake?  I saw a video of it some months ago, and then they did the same thing when they ran out onto the field Monday night.  Looks kinda stitty, no?

But that's not why I'm posting; I'm sad to see him injured and out for the year, but it would be even more sad if that was the last snap of his career.  At his age, recovering from a torn achilles is a longshot.  He's healthy enough but I'm not sure we'll ever see him suit up again.  The whole scene reminded me of watching Steve Young go down.

The only difference is Steve's injury ushered in the end of an era, with Rodgers the era never had a chance to start.  The god damn Jets are cursed.

I'm stunned he was so injured, it didn't look like he was in any pain at all, maybe he was in shock?

I went light on rbs and got burned with the jk Dobbins season ending injury.  Going to be rough come bye weeks trying to piece together a team worth throwing out there lol.  Lukc of the draw with injuries.  I thought Dobbins was gonna have a great year but dude can't stay on the field it's a shame.  With that being said week 2 here we come!

Depth is huge, Kelly was a good pickup and Johnson may take over if the scuttlebutt is true.

I started off the season with a loss, just like a finished last year lol. Man, it looks like it might be another tough year for me.  Joe Burrow really screwed me though.  But, I certainly don't expect him to continue being that bad going forward.

I wasn't shocked to see Gainwell get the majority of the snaps (Philly beat writers have been saying he's the main guy for some time now), as well as Penny being inactive, but I don't expect this to keep up. Penny is the best RB on this team, no question about it, but I know they are taking things very slow with him due to his injury history.  I've heard they plan to ease him in and really want to make sure they have him for the playoffs.  It's certainly an interesting backfrield right now.

 I'm rooting for Higgins Burrow!
Penny might be worth a stash, if gainwell doesn't play I would not be surprised to see him get the bulk with the other 2 doing the same backup routine.

Another QB to watch closely this year is Jordan Love.  Big shoes to fill from GB's perspective, but he seems built for the purpose.

Didn't notice Doubs on my bench. ;P

What a brutal day for me.  Got handed to in fantasy, lost jk Dobbins for the year in the process and then had to sit through the night game as a giants fan.  I don't think I have ever seen a worse game than that one right there.  I hope the season doesn't look like that all year

He's always hurt, just gotta plug that hole until JT shows up week 5!
393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: September 11, 2023, 04:42:23 PM
Alright, here's my only bet for opening weekend.  I'm playing with house money at the moment, so throwing caution to the wind.  Both QBs to pass for two TDs a piece, and the Jets +10.5.  Wish me luck.

Arron gonna fuk you and throw one and run in two! Tongue

j/k good bets.

I thought it was rather risky of you to start him this week, but yeah, pretty damn good outing for Tua.  Not that it's surprising after last year, but fucking A, Hhampuz looks like he won the RB and WR lottery.  I knew Aiyuk would be good this year, he and purdy have a great connection.  Jakobi Meyers is a surprise, though.  Speaking of LV, it's funny to see Garoppolo and Wilson are division rivals again.

Can only pray they all stay healthy, with danny on QB and the worst O-line to ever suit up for NFL I may have to work out some trades  Cheesy

Cheesy Lol

The cheetah is a cheat code with his speed, especially yesterday it was pretty impressive.

Lets not over look Concussion Boy dropping those dimes as well, I was quite impressed with his accuracy.

Yeah, they just elevated Meyers from the practice squad, I wonder if his and Jimmy G's time in Foxborough is why he went off? Could just be a flash in the pan, we will see.

Hampus Came out of the gate like lightning!  I'm most surprised about A. Jones and wonder if he will keep that level with Luck.

I think Pitts (yeah the te pitts as well) sucks and the hype train got that one wrong and even though San Fran is a powerhouse with all those mouths to feed I don't expect to see those numbers that often.

But like I've been saying, Purdey is "Purdey Good"!

Can't wait to See the new Jets v/s Allen and Co, it should be a real show if nothing else.

Also noticed Me and Mo fucked ourselfs on the waivers, apparently picking up guys after the draft changes waiver priority, o well live an learn.

Pretty exciting weekend of opening football!  Glad to see the Niners are looking pretty good.  The Eagles and the Cowboys are rocking and rolling as well, but I really didn't expect such a fight from the Patriots.  Mac Jones looked like Tom Brady.  I had double check the numbers on his jersey when I watched the highlights.

I thought I would have one of the worst teams on week 1

I was afraid my team was going to suck pretty bad week 1 also.  Despite being the second highest scoring team this week, I'm still rather disappointed by RBs and most of my WRs.  I'm hoping to get some traction on those positions during this week's waivers, but any move this early in the season is a gamble anyway.

I think this was the first time EVER I've had TWO guys give me the Bubble!

fk'in Higgins! Cheesy

I have not been able to find any actual verifiable source for what the actual amounts and assets are, nothing but a circle jerk of unverified reports quoting each other.

Is the ftx news real I did a bit of research and got into a circle jerk of sources quoting each other, specifically on the holdings. I’m cautious on this tbh.
398  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 10, 2023, 06:05:39 AM
It looks like FTX will be selling $200,000,000 worth of crypto every week for the next 17 weeks… This will start next week. This downward pressure on the market will likely hold prices somewhat in check until the end of the year. I’d imagine once this is behind us (and the mtgox coins are distributed) it should be the final hurdle before launch.

They only held Shitcoins, no-one cares.

When Shitcoins tumble all the tards run from the sinking ship.

And they run to King Daddy.

*edited for lack of coffee brain

They chatter says they hold $268 in Bitcoin (7.8%), which isn't a lot tbf. $16m per week per week liquidating that would be. Other altcoins will get rekt though as there is already no liquidity to prop up a lot of prices.

I'm thinking it's time for another flush out of altcoins as Bitcoin continues sideways, maybe even a bit to the upside.

Multisig solves a lot of potential security issues without making things complex (which is a security issue by itself). It really should be the standard in case of managing anything else than pocket change.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjS5qF65Yos

Shamir Backup seems like the best option to me. for a casual anyway.

Pretty easy and safe and secure.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7WkAN0Gac4

I am not resting assured from those two videos, so in that regard, I have my doubts that shamir backups are a slam dunk as better than multi-sig.. including that multi-sig allows for not having to bring all the keys together at the same place (even though surely Antonopolis had pointed out one of the dangers to have the  public keys for all three but maybe only needing the private keys for two)

It seems that one of the dangers that bitebits was wanting to lesson is the potential problems of being reliant on one manufacturer, but sure, if you end up overcomplicating your matters, then you become your own danger to yourself.

That response was to his assertion that it should be a default.
400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: September 09, 2023, 05:46:10 PM
An important new governance proposal is in for the Dash Masternode network to vote on.
https://www.dashcentral.org/p/TREASURY-REALLOCATION-60-20-20
In brief, the proposal aims to make the following emission changes.

Current allocation:

    Miner reward: 36%
    Masternode reward: 54%
    Treasury: 10%

Proposed allocation, in light of the above:

    Miner reward: 20%
    Masternode reward: 60%
    Treasury: 20%

This proposal may be seen as controversial by some, but it reflects the network's overall lesser reliance on POW for the network security and the greater role that the masternodes play in securing the coin.  Voting is now open and you may view the leaderboard here https://mnowatch.org/leaderboard/ as the votes come in, in real-time.

LOL whales squeezing the little guys even more!

what a joke this shitshow is.
