Right now i have my S1´s in bitminter and last 2 blocks.... 1 day and i think 14 hours or so.......... so frustrating....  Undecided Undecided Undecided

Did I read correctly that it only needs 2 PCI-e cables connected to run as normal (not overclocked)?

Correct. 2 for regular, 4 for OC'ing.

What I do not understand is this sentence: "Don’t parallel connected different DC input from different PSU into the same Hashing board." So does this mean you need two PSU if you're overclocking?

I understand they mean dont use 2 PSU for same hashing board. Anyways, with 1 PSU u can connect 4 PCI-e so no problem

yeah this is most likely exactly what they mean.

but with 2 psu's  each one doing one board each even thou it seems okay I will let some one else do it first.

And why do you want to use 2 PSU´s to power just 1 S3? 2 vents = more noise i suppose and more wires. I will just use 1 PSU / S3, i think its better

well just saying. here in Spain we dont have that problem with UPS

Shipping through Spain anyone?

im from spain also Wink Por qué no compras 2 directamente en bitmain? a mí nunca me lo paran en aduanas Wink

Uk customs and UPS will nail us brothers and sisters.

I can see that bill for UPS before they will deliver.

Damn i hate that as hell.

Bitmain in case of RMA asking to put value 10$ so be nice to us BMAN and do the same....

wow u always pay taxes on UK?? lucky me here we dont  Grin

Yeah i want to get 8 units but i know they will rape me hard.

well, 8 are a lot of units i suppose for customs... they see 8 heavy boxes all for same address... i think its normal  Grin

But if you just buy 2 im sure they wont charge u. Or buy pairs with 1 day between each other so they dont arrive all together

If i will divide that in 4 different orders how many chances of lost/damaged not delivered item i have---->>>>4 is the right answer<<<<-------
And fact is this will not bee cheaper to have 4 times delivered to my house instead of one.

UPS will bill you for 20% tax.................. plus £11-00 for the COD delivery fee.

Get them all at once.    Otherwise the £11-00 fee fill be added to each individual order that is delivered.

well just saying. here in Spain we dont have that problem with UPS

yeah i dont like that. Why if they have S3 already, dont deliver right now? why wait till 10-20 july? you pay now, yeah, but you have to wait till 10-20 and maybe you receive them last week of july... i dont like that waiting period Undecided

Bitmain will likely ship out before July 10.  They did the same with s1 when it was released.  After the first two rounds, it will fall back to 48hr delivery time.  Remember they are shipping out hundreds of orders (multiple units).

They are much better than other vendors that take your money and delay, delay, delay and then fail to send units.

DoubleDD

I want to buy 2 units, 2nd batch, hope tomorrow still units left .

another long block, bad week Embarrassed
We are now 1% of the network.
When we solo mined we stopped when we became only 1% of the network because variance starts to rear its ugly head.    We need all these spondoolies and ants that were delivered to point some here.   On average, we will hit a block every 16 hours so do not start to stress until it is a couple days.  It just sucks since the electric bill does not seem to share this variance in timing nor price.    But everyone is having a tough time right now (maybe the adjustment was too high).

but this happens in this pool, or if you mine in another you will find blocks faster? Or this happens in every pool maybe?. (i mean this week). i come from slush and i prefer better this one, but this week is a disaster with long blocks.

Im not going to leave of course, but yeah........ sucks that just 1 block every 16 hours, and again already almost 20 hours and counting.

anyways like rewards are based on shifts, you can just say i go to another pool and try luck there on these bad days here because of long blocks, because you will lose your reward, so its ok, i will just hope everything goes better some day xD

At $1000 Tax value at UK customs - Not worth me even making an order anymore - The higher you tax an item harder it is to pass customs.

Bitmain should allow the buyer to have some input on the value at least for the EU or UK!!

dude,

I am Ants' fan, less than $1000, not equal to $1000...have you bought Antminers?
Suspected shell from other competitors...

MOQ is 2 units and EU gets raped with VAT.

My experience, you can order one in one order if you only need one unit, they will confirm your order manually.

Minimun is 2 units / order, u cant buy just 1

you can-from resellers

yeah paying 600 € for 1 unit.... ermmmm no thanks Wink

750w? Huh S3 = 366w
395  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANN: BITMAIN has Tested Its 28nm Bitcoin Mining Chip BM1382 on: July 01, 2014, 03:21:20 PM
As many have said, the S3 won't get anywhere near a return on investment here in the UK, amongst many other places worldwide I'd imagine. Any news on the S1 upgrade kit?
Lower postage / declared value might just let us back in the game.......

why no ROI u say?.

I have already 2 corsair CX750M so i dont have to buy PSU, and i pay 0.13 € / kwh so that would be 25 € / month or so. Not bad i think

i received 2 antminers S1 and never had to pay taxes. So if they send the separately, whats the problem? i dont think you will have to pay taxes(im from spain, europe)

and do you know parameters for overclocking S3 ?
and if you want to overclock, you need to connect 4 PCI-e connectors instead of 2?

I would say yes:

Here is info from Bitmain:
"There are 4 PCI-e connectors for +12V DC input, but it only needs to connect two of them if without overclocking (PSU not included). Don’t parallel connected different DC input from different PSU into the same Hashing board."

Need to wait for some testing performed on the life machine.

yeah thats why i asked hehe. I have S1 and i have them overclocked and just had to connect 2 PCI-e

when will second batch be delivered then? im from europe(spain), so if you guys bought in the past antminers from bitmain and you live i dont know, in germany or nearby, how long was delivery?
Usually they ship out from China to Mumbai then on to Cologne in Germany then out to the rest of EU -
So - Shipped on Saturday = arrive before following Friday
But the courier service usually holds them till Monday in China before they start moving. So it takes about 4 days to EU.

ok thanks so much Wink
