To dev... concerning deposit made to Xnigma, I deposited 18101.42 octo reported as unconfirmed for 3 months.  The transaction appears in both old/new wallet at first as unconfirmed/0 of 6 confirmations.  Now it appears, after I emailed Xnigma, as "conflicted".  Regardless my coin is in the cloud floating around or gone?

Both old/new wallets say I have 18447.66902801 coin, but try to move any and no, no, no.  Again, attempted on old/new wallets and separate PCs, rebuilding data, etc.

Xnigma never received.

The Xnigma sysop may need to do the same thing.. Rebuild and reindex. There's a command in the new wallet, something like zapwallettxes or something like that. Have him try that out, surely your transaction will be found!

How about a new thought for altcoin.  Me... customer.  Developer... manufacturer.  Exchange... vendor.  Customer complains, manufacturer and vendor fix.  Not fix, customer finds another product.  Appreciate your advice but not looking to solve this problem myself.

But you were just told what needs to be done. You and the Xnigma admin need to reindex your wallets. You'd be surprised how often this happens with all coins - there is a reason Litecoin increased max block size in their latest release. I believe OctoCoin has an even larger max block size. Reindexing is there because sometimes your transaction isn't accepted into the block chain due to too low of fees or whatnot. The zapwallettxes thing sounds interesting. I don't know how to use it but I'd look into that. If you zap the transaction, the coins come back into your wallet and you can resend them if you like. The coins are not lost as they never even hit the main blockchain. Your wallet stored on your computer is just "confused." You can point your finger all day long but one thing I've learned is the best way to resolve an issue is to take matters into my own hands. I've had this same issue before with Doge, Litecoin, Feathercoin, and even bitcoin. The difference is that now there are more tools built into the OctoCoin wallet that will probably make it much easier. It was a freak incident and it sucks but it's not Xnigma's fault and unless you want to send the OctoCoin dev your wallet.dat file there isn't much they can do most likely. Your wallet is the only place that transaction exists.

The zapwallettxes doesn't actually work that way, but still very useful in rebuilding the tx database.. I was looking at the bitcoin changelog and looks like Octo has alot of the same functionality. Here's the most interesting snippet, for transaction-related issues:

Transaction malleability-related fixes
--------------------------------------

This release contains a few fixes for transaction ID (TXID) malleability
issues:

- -nospendzeroconfchange command-line option, to avoid spending
  zero-confirmation change
- IsStandard() transaction rules tightened to prevent relaying and mining of
  mutated transactions
- Additional information in listtransactions/gettransaction output to
report wallet transactions that conflict with each other because
  they spend the same outputs.
- Bug fixes to the getbalance/listaccounts RPC commands, which would report
incorrect balances for double-spent (or mutated) transactions.
- New option: -zapwallettxes to rebuild the wallet's transaction information

I can confirm that it does help out. I had a couple of things stuck that I didn't know about, I ran pretty much every recovery option when I updated the pool, to be on the safe side. Hope it works out for ya!
If you're on windows, make a shortcut of octocoin-qt.exe, Right click it, choose properties, and in the "Target" box, after the file path and octocoin-qt.exe add -zapwallettxes -rescan -reindex

Save that and try once more. Hope you get your coins back!

Can anyone verify that miningpool.co is mining on the wrong fork and that I just wasted the past few hours.

I can't speak for them, but my pool is fine!

We're hurting for hashes right now, guess people have lost the faith, but I assure you, we'll be rocking and rolling!

1% house edge
Play, Invest, and Profit!

The casino is now open and ready, only thing is I have 0 coins to be able to test and invest. Until we have someone go in and invest coins, actual betting cannot take place, though it's playable if you bet 0. The beauty of this game is that everyone can be a part owner in the house profits, just create an account and invest! The stats tab will show you the percentage of your investment, your profits, etc.

When you first enter the site, please take a moment to switch over to the "Options" tab, set a display name, username, and a password. Please do not lose your password! Obviously, if you do, you won't be able to get back into your investments, without me "hacking" you back in! Investing and depositing is easy, just scan the QR code, or click it to get a deposit address. Don't set up any pool account to auto-withdraw to your deposit address, though, I'm not sure if it stays the same or changes. The game software is still in a beta stage but is ready for play, just don't have an admin interface yet so please, don't lock yourself out of your account, so I don't have to manually hack you back in! Also please, take note of all relevant details of any deposits you make, just in case, that way if there's any issues it'll be easier to iron out!

Let me know if you have issues.
Have fun guys!

Guys, I've been working on some stuff and I have to reboot the server right now, so in case anyone is wondering what's up, that's it. It'll only take a couple of minutes, hopefully everyone's got their miners set to auto-reconnect. I'm shutting off stratum, then the crons, give it a chance to finish its run then I'll reboot. Sorry about that, doesn't happen very often but I've just updated a bunch of stuff and I can't do anything else until I reboot!

Appreciate the heads up edric

No problem.. For some reason when I launched stratum, it didn't run. It's back on now. Sorry for the delay there.

I need everyone to check their payouts, we had a hiccup early this morning at some point, I'm thinking a few didn't make it. Just let me know Smiley

I'll be checking manually as well, just have a lot going on at once!

OctoTips WordPress plugin is live! It is not as feature rich as I wanted it to be, but some of those features are dependent upon mobile wallets which we do not have, yet.

The OctoTips plugin will help spread awareness about OctoCoin while also allowing publishers a way to request OctoCoin donations without having to manually add something to each and every article. There is a link in the donation box to the OctoCoin.org web site for people who are unaware of the coin and want to learn more.

Enjoy!

That's pretty awesome, I will be checking it out..

I'm getting ready to launch Octo-Chance, finally, after so many damn delays. I'll post the URL when it's ready, I haven't actually made the subdomain yet, gotta make a quick vhosts entry and set the domain name and we'll be ready to roll. 10-15 mins!

Hashrate is way down on my pool.. Not losing the faith, are we guys?

I do not support this coin, but I do support wallet building for OSX.

Installer:

Client:

The client has been built with Qt 5.3.0, OpenSSL 1.0.1g and the rest of the latest deps available on homebrew.

It has been tested with Mountain Lion (OSX 10.Cool and Mavericks (OSX 10.9) and I'm expecting it to work with Lion (OSX 10.7) as well.

A download can be found here:

Big thanks from Ed!!! Much appreciated! I've been working on getting my VM set up with deps to build wallets as well, but on AMD hardware it's a PITA!

And guys, I am aware the pool is having payout issues, I'll get it fixed ASAP, then go thru payout logs to manually send anything missing.

Octo-Chance is coming very soon, kinda got put on hold because the coins I was hanging onto for testing went back to the pool, then PC broke down, etc. I'm taking zero chances with this one, so I still have some testing to do, then (since I don't have coins) gather up some investors to make the game functional (doesn't function without actual investments into the system, you can track investments/profits/losses on an individual user basis as well as system wide, all it needs to be officially "finished" is an actual admin interface, for if someone locks themselves out of their account I don't have to "hack" them back in, hehe). There's some extra security measures that will be going up with the official launch as well, which will affect other things on the same system, security's going to be tighter than all my previous services, one by one other services that may be lacking will be brought up to the "new standard" (which I'm working on a list of things that need to be done better/safer, enhanced ddos/hacking protection, the whole package). Current security measures are adequate enough and the sun would run out of gas before anyone could bruteforce anything usable to compromise any of my servers, but seeing as how my future plans call for "more servers" and "more pools and services", the words "adequate security" don't help me sleep any better, so existing services will get the bulletproofing treatment, then I'll work out my "template" for future projects. That reminds me, too, that I have a pretty much turn-key poolserver "template" on DigitalOcean, and they now allow for people to transfer them to each other, if anyone is interested. It saves tons of time when you can just deploy a system image with everything you need, minus fetching new MPOS commits and apt-get updates and your wallet. Just need to sanitize some stuff on my existing template and get it updated.

Nice to hear that my name suggestion won Smiley
+1 fatguy for OctoCoin history books.

Not sure if you still have the 1000 Octo bounty you mentioned before for the name, however I would prefer that you keep it seeing as you're pretty much all out. When you get the game up and running, I will invest some of my Octos into it - Been holding Doge for a while and since the recent crash and burn I jumped ship and put my remaining ~0.12BTC in Octo.

ALL IN BABY. LETS DO THIS Cheesy

Haha, yes, the bounty is yours... Once I have it, lol.. I'll try to get it running today but don't have any coin to test it out with, there's been some updates and I prefer to test thoroughly but there shouldn't be issues. I'll report back when ready!

POS is becoming much more common with good reason.  In addition to adding security to the blockchain, it adds value to holding the coin and drives demand for the coin.  There are plenty of low value coins out there.  We need to give people a reason to pick Birdcoin over other coins.  I know personally, if I'm going to speculate and spend some BTC to acquire a coin without having a really good feeling about the coin's future, I want to get something out of holding it for a while.  Lately I'm only buying POS coins, and I'm selling everything else as fast as I can mine it.  There is still risk, but at least there is some reward while waiting for the market to improve.  Considering that people can buy in to an investment in Birdcoin very cheaply right now, we just have to give them a reason to do it.

I think a modest POS component would be a good addition.  It would give people a reason to hold on to their coins rather than dump them for 1 satoshi.  It would also be a good incentive to drive demand for the coin.  I think a lot of people would be willing to spend .25 BTC, and some people much more than that at the current prices if there were POS rewards and a decent chance for the coin to increase in value.

I don't think a large POS reward would be a very helpful though.  There still needs to be a good reason to mine them and to sell them rather than just sit on an ever growing mountain of coins.  Something like 1.25% monthly would probably end the dumping but wouldn't discourage selling if the market price is right.  That could drive distribution to more people and help make the coin successful.

There may be some value to waiting to roll out POS.  Waiting until the reward is lower would have less of an effect on the total number of coins created.  However, I think there is much greater value to rolling it out soon, or at least announcing that it will be rolled out at a certain point, even if that means altering the timing of block halving and total coin distribution figures.  Right now, as you all know, Birdcoin is trading at very low prices and still there is very limited demand.  That needs to change before the coin starts going in the wrong direction.  Exchanges aren't going to continue to support any coin for long that doesn't earn them any transaction fees.  For all these reasons, I think adding POS to Birdcoin would be a a good idea.

+1. Dev are you here?

I'm one of the devs, pool owner, I have been helping maintain the project since launch, pretty much. Most of you probably know this. Sorry, I've been dealing with nonstop daily disasters like my PC dying on me, being sick, other "problem projects", and so forth.. I'm not one to be making any real informed decision on PoS, as I don't know much about it because I haven't really dealt with it much, but I definitely was able to follow your explanation and you raise excellent points as to the merits of a switch. By now, anyone who mined a TON in the beginning (like me), either has a TON sitting in a wallet somewhere, has them rotting in an exchange for 1 satoshi, or eventually dumped all of them for 1 liteoshi. I will admit, I live day to day with Bird now. Sadly I got hasty and sold for LTC, it's like kicking myself in the balls for investing months and months and months in this coin, then selling it all for, what... 15 bucks? lol

If you're really interested in PoS, I can probably get it implemented, may not be a straightforward undertaking, as I may have to switch to a different codebase (PND my first thought), but it IS do-able. I have tons going on right now but I want whatever community is left to talk and hash this out, if you have more specifics and things of mention, definitely speak out. If we can do Bird some good, I'm for it. I'll check back tomorrow.

EDIT: Also, probably tomorrow, since I just want to curl up into a ball right now, I will be making some slight changes to the pool. A few simple tweaks and adjustments, some changes in security measures (so there could possibly be a brief situation where the site goes down, mining should commence without interruption), but the most noteworthy is that the amount of confirmations required for mined blocks to be credited to your account balance will be adjusted from 120 to 40! Don't know how I missed that, I thought Bird was always  120 for mined blocks. Anyway, no more waiting half the damn day for your unconfirmed to get credited!

Ooooo... and X11 multi with OctoCoin payout is what I have been waiting for.

My power goes up another tier in the summer so running all my rigs on scrypt gets expensive.

FH mentioned it, and I mentioned it too in my last post, been thinking of getting something very similar set up, without blatantly copycatting or creating rivalries, I'd like to offer something with at least one or two unique features, but Octo would definitely have to be on the menu. And yeah, I hear you on the power bill.. I threw in a bit on the last one, which didn't include my 1300-ish watts, 2MH scrypt mining. I'm mining at a negative profit at the moment too, lol. Well, not actually, but will still be broke in 2 weeks so I'm about to start really hitting the keyboard hard. Lots of stuff to do before I can even sit down, write down ideas, and commit to a multipool project, but the time is rapidly approaching where even a small pool op like me needs a Multipool as well, everyone's got one. Gotta figure out what will make it special and some unique features (without money to burn on help!) to attract a solid userbase, plus be able to pay users enough to justify their staying with my pool, and still make a bit of profit. I do have an idea to go along with it, and it's CRAZY, but if it works will save a ton of money on fees that normal auto-exchange pools have to pay. Won't go into too much more detail but it's probably easy to work out what I mean.

ok, nap time for real this time.
392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][888][SCRYPT] OctoCoin ◦ The Power of Eight ◦ Don't Blink ◦ Hardfork May 26 on: May 27, 2014, 08:24:45 PM
We are opposed to a scrypt multipool but the OctoCoin devs have reached out to us inquiring about potentially creating a Scrypt-N/X11 pool that would auto-trade what you mined for OctoCoin. The purpose of this would be to make mining with GPUs more efficient again while the scrypt ASICs can continue to mine OctoCoin directly. The primary hurdles are the current lack of OctoCoin sell orders and the possibility that driving the price up by constantly auto-buying OctoCoins on low-volume exchanges would open the door for both direct and indirect manipulation including, but not limited to, the traditional multipools hitting OctoCoin and selling back to us at the (now-inflated) price. If we did this for OctoCoin, we would likely do the same for Murraycoin, Anoncoin, and Megacoin. Based on our latest discussion with the Murraycoin dev, they are apparently planning to implement proof-of-stake in their next release - if they intend to transition to PoS-only (we don't know the final specs) we would definitely create a Murraycoin multipool so people can continue to mine. The Murraycoin dev is an investor in our dedicated cloud mining operation.

Holy jeez, that's kinda close to the same thing I was thinking about doing! With some of the newer stuff out there, it really shouldn't be terribly difficult to get a multipool set up, the web frontend would likely be the hardest part. I've been considering a multipool-type situation for quite a while now, but Scrypt is definitely out the window and I'd really like to use the utmost caution as to not upset any markets/communities/devs, etc. I really haven't even gone as far yet as to work out exactly what coins we'll be dealing with, but the intent is to make it work without "gaming" any payment systems or otherwise exploiting anything, and without being too similar to other such services or sparking rivalry or fierce competition, that's just not how I roll. I have grandiose plans, but I have to always remind myself I'm only one guy, not a company with a board of investors, an awesome staff, and, well, money. I'm not sure where those plans fit into my overall timeline, because as of right now, most of my work has hit a wall, and I still have a casino to properly launch and a few other things I need to be working on first in accordance with being BROKE! Being an army of one isn't very fun sometimes, I'd hire someone but I only trust myself 100%-ish and nobody I know that fits in with the whole trustworthiness thing works for free or for food, so I'll have to stick with the status quo and pray that my luck improves. I swear, since we've moved, I've pretty much made no actually profitable progress in rolling out my plans and ideas. Oh well, if I don't keep trying, I'll surely fail, right?  The servers are paid up for the time being but I kinda (temporarily) screwed things up for myself with some faulty math based on incomplete information (read below, I give the whole spiel later)

Anyway, as for my lack of updates lately, it's only because of one disaster after another. The weather has been horrible the last few days, ended up knocking our power out a few times, and once when it came back, my OS HDD was giving the death click and wouldn't boot up. Another instance killed the internet for a few hours. I managed to save everything important off my C: drive, mostly just my bookmarks and a whole crapload of settings and configurations for this and that. When my "Movies" or "Storage" disks decide to go, if I cannot afford a good NAS first, life as I currently know it is over.

Well, maybe some of you have noticed I haven't opened up my casino yet. It's because the 888's I had for my initial investment and testing are gone, so I need to make some back before I can get underway. Everything I had left in my wallet, plus whatever 888 I could buy with all my various change sitting in various sites and wallets I have sent directly back into the pool's wallet. I have also been mining and donating 100% back into the pool to fix the "negative balance" issue I have mentioned before. Well, guess what? I figured out that there is no actual issue here, aside from the "Users" panel in the Admin interface not sorting people's balances properly, when you select a large view like 100, you still have to hit the "Next" button up top, come to find out the default view was NOT enumerating every existing balance greater than 0. So, yeah, I caused the problem when I took out what according to my math was a perfectly acceptable amount, if I'd have known at the time about the problem with the Admin interface, I would not have done it. I went digging through the issues after I discovered the problem and my mistake, but I don't think it's going to be fixed. There is good news, though, after my screwup. It turns out the amount I removed is still actually a bit less than the combined balances of "Stale" users (meaning they haven't logged in for like 60 days), but before I start pruning stale users, first I will replace the amount I screwed up, then start sending notifications to old users, either log in and clear your balances, or your account gets deleted, and they go back to the pool (There's work on an official system to be put in place to do this). I think I will allow for 90 days before I flag any accounts as stale, though. Anyway, that's what's going on, and why I was briefly talking about starting a fresh pool for the hardfork, but the more I thought about it and went back manually verifying thousands of transactions (yeah, it sucked), I knew my system is working right, I'm just being an idiot, again. It'll be back to normal in a few days, and it's not going to affect live payouts at all (unless everyone including all stale users come back and try to withdraw all at once!). Glad I got all that straightened out, I just couldn't get my mind around how there was a 50+ thousand descrepency in my database and have spoken at length with some of the MPOS guys (yet nobody suggested the simple solution, just told me either "you're doing it wrong", "missing payouts", or "your system is misconfigured"(no way)). It's may get on some nerves but I'm re-raising it as an issue, I'm not the only pool owner getting trolled by my own Admin panel. I'll also add that even though I made a mistake (one that's kinda equally my own fault and MPOS's) in removing more than I should have from the server's wallet, this in NO WAY had any effect on any user's actual system-accounted balances, and as always, everyone gets paid regardless, even the stale accounts still have their balances reflected, so after I top up the wallet properly I'll make sure the stale users get ample time and notifications to clean out their accounts! I hope nobody takes issue with anything I've said, it has never been my intention to do anything underhanded to intentionally or even unintentionally screw anyone out of any coins, and I stand by that. I think you guys know me well enough by now to know. Anyway, I'll be as transparent as possible with the process of fixing my screw up, if you have any questions, just ask! It's the kind of mistake I'll only make once, now that I know what to look for. Definitely will be pushing to have the Users reporting issue dealt with, because I'm not the only pool admin that's woefully miscalculated. In our case, though, I was pretty cautious when I moved the coins out, making sure it didn't cause any type of payout errors or anything nasty before I used the coins to pay server bills, and like I said, dug through thousands of TXID's of payouts, manually verified TONS of payments, generated my own figures on fees/txfees/donations minus bonuses and giveaways, and eventually dumped a copy of the DB and it finally dawned on me that every balance greater than 0 was not being reported properly in my admin page (example: filter users accountname by '%' wildcard, select the box to view 100 instead of 10 users, double click balance to sort user balances in descending order, they all descend, maybe starting at a user with 2000 coins, then hit the Next-> button up top (the 1,2,3.. buttons do nothing), sort balances in descending order again, oh wow, there's more users here, with way bigger balances than the first page!) Weird huh?. It only hit me after it was too late, but no worries, Edric's got this!

Meanwhile, the new wallet runs so nicely. No screwy transaction or payout problems or crons shutting down. I have seen a intermittent but non-fatal error with the findblock cron, something I've been meaning to bring up next time I get on IRC. Anyway that's about it for the updates, dealing with everything breaking down, bad weather, and being sick (and flat broke, thanks to my screw up!).

Ok, nap time. Been feeling like crap, the awful weather has only made me more sore and stiff, and the kids wake up promptly at dawn to begin their EXTREMELY LOUD rampages through our nicely wooden-floored house, stomping and kicking, yelling and beating on every door. You tell them to stop, maybe threaten one or two of them with some kind of imaginative torture or painful death, and it just gets worse when you leave the room. The bad thing is, they listen to me more than they do my sister (their mom), and summer is coming up, this will be an every day thing. Help me.

Oh, quick side note, I saw Octo mention OSX builds, I've nearly got my VM stuff setup where I can finally build OSX wallets.. Don't know why I'm mentioning that, because you'll be getting an official OSX wallet, I'm just excited :b  OSX is a huge PITA running in VM's on AMD hardware. I just couldn't justify the cost of a real Mac, though, unless I got a good deal. Ran across an MBP at the pawn shop a while back for 200, was gone quick.

Bam! Pool newsletter sent out with copy/paste of Octo's update info!

Boy I love the newsletter function! Hopefully that will make sure everyone is aware of the upcoming hard fork.

Woohoo! The update went off without a hitch, and the wallet is NOT complaining! So far, I'm not complaining either!

Great job Octo devs!

I'll be keeping an eye on payout logs just to make sure we do not have any issues. If anyone suspects a missing payout, please do a cursory lookover on the BE and the obvious things, but please contact me if you're having issues!

Casino has a green light now, so in a couple of hours....

good! i hope it continues running well for your guys... can't beat an easy switch over. can't wait to check out the casino!
Working on it right now, shouldn't be too long. Got my lil newphew Wyatt Derp here watching Spider-Man on monitor 2 lol, keeping him out of mom's way.

The main post has been updated to reflect the upcoming hardfork and the 1.8.0.0 source (tar) has been added to the downloads section in addition to the 1.8.0.0 Windows QT client. explorer.octocoin.org, FusionHash, and all 4 official OctoCoin nodes are updated to version 1.8.0.0; edric's pool should be updated soon as well. We still have ~3.5 days before we hit block 75,888.

GitHub source and downloads section at octocoin.org will be updated shortly. Help us spread the word to ensure everybody is updated before block 75,888 - once everything is online we will make all of the official announcements via the various channels but it's never too soon to start moving (especially when we only have a few days).

Pool is getting ready to switch over we're gonna pray not to have issues with payouts!

I've thought about it, refreshing the pool isn't going to help the old situation anyway, because of the hardfork, won't be able to run the old client anyway to get the payouts done, so I will just deal with situations as they come. Even if I have to donate 100% of my minings back into the pool and just let it run how it's been running, fine.

Coming up in a few minutes, the pool will be out of service for a couple of minutes while I change things over.

The delay on the new client is due to us having to strip out a number of custom features that were not ready for production. As the features are quite innovative, we did not want to simply comment them out in the source and give away too much information and/or allow the features to be "borrowed" before we even launch them. We ended up creating a completely separate branch and things are rolling along.

The fork will replace the bonus blocks with steady 188 coin blocks throughout the remainder of the bonus phase. Also, a new difficulty formula will kick in that adjusts every block to help smooth out the network. The fork begins at block 75,888 - that means we need to get everybody updated before the weekend is over. It isn't as much notice as we'd like but we felt it was important enough that it needed to be fast-tracked. The new source will be put up on GitHub tomorrow and we will begin reaching out to all of the pool operators and exchanges that will need to update their clients before block 75,888.

For those of you on Windows that want to get a jump on things, here is the download for the new 32-bit Windows-QT client:

OctoCoin 1.8 w/ 75888 fork [Windows-QT]

This is complete with the fork that kicks in at block 75,888 and will run fine until then as well. It is built on top of the upcoming Bitcoin 0.9.2 source. Once the new OctoCoin source is public, we will follow with the 64-bit Windows-QT and Mac wallets. We will release the windows installers later - for now, we're keeping it simple.

By EOD, all nodes will be updated and ready for the fork. Will update the main post and provide updates throughout the day.

Ok, since the wallet will be available tomorrow, I'm going to hold off on opening the casino until then, since I don't want to have to just shut it right back down to change out wallets.

Once the pool switches over, if we continue to have problems because of the negative Liquid asset error, it's possible we'll do a "fresh start", which should be painless for you guys, but quite a bit of work on my end. If that does take place, either I'll push everyone's remaining balances out manually, or give you instructions to withdraw from the "old" wallet. I don't want anyone to worry, nobody's going to lose anything. I just want to make sure our pool runs smoothly and there's no more payout errors.

I'm definitely excited though!

All I am saying is that we can do things on our own. We do not have to rely on the devs for the applications/websites for this coin. Community driven effort is what has made BitCoin, LiteCoin, and DogeCoin successful, not what their developers did.

Anything that the devs come up with will be added perks to increase the use and demand for OctoCoin, if the community creates a need for Octos.

And yes... the wallet update would be nice.  Wink

While I want to agree with this statement. The devs need to set a foundation and kick things into gear before the community can develop its own projects, services, etc.

I would have to be a ballsy mother with no fear of losing thousands of fiat to be able to open a business that runs on Octo, It is just not a reality at this point, seeing as we have no real volume that could come close to replicating a stable payment processor, a small community meaning no real "market", and no real credibility behind Octo as of yet.

As with everything cryptocurrency related - it is a gamble. However, making informed decisions is key to success.

Nobody is making you mine or buy OctoCoin, therefore there is no need to spread FUD without actual proof of anything.

@Edric

You still enjoy pizza, or has making it on a daily basis diminished your love for it? Cheesy

Still love pizza, but can't really cope with certain kinds, like Little Caesar's.. After making 30-40 gallons of sauce every day, it gets really old.. Just thinking about their sauce gives me heartburn. Give me stuff to make homemade pizza, though, and it's on!

Getting some of the final touches done on the Octo casino, but I'm going to hit the hay early tonight. Tomorrow It's getting switched on, so be ready to play!

I was wanting to get it finished today but ended up doing a bunch of housework, ate a bunch of crap with habanero Tabasco sauce and a couple of beers and I'm not feeling so hot right now, so watching some Breaking Bad and going to sleep..

The dinging sound from the new version of MPOS is annoying the living crap out of me. Do you guys hear it too?

EDIT: Yes, tomorrow IS the day for the Octo casino launch. The grid game is coming down, though, doesn't look like any users have unclaimed balances but if you do, please withdraw! Tomorrow we go live and we still need a name! Remember, you can invest in the game as well as bet. My body is ready.

Edric, keep your head up. You're a too good man to think about things like quitting life etc.
If i learned something then it is that where are downs, there are ups, even if the downs are long and bad as shit and f*ck your head like a rabbit.  Wink
Plus you are very clever in this computer things and working very properly.
That's something you can't find very often.   Wink

@ fatguy

don't destroy my dreams.  Grin
Octo is not the next VTC or DRK, it's the next LTC.  Grin

@ frameLAlife

absolutely.  Grin

Thanks man you have no idea how good your guys comments make me feel.. I won't quit life.. Who'd run the pool?

You guys may feel like quitting life if you made it through my entire life story head dump I just posted :b

Sorry for that, but I feel better now Smiley

EDIT: Don't forget, I need help naming our hi/lo game, 1000 reward! Also, I've made a few adjustments to the pool's settings, let me know if your hashrates don't seem correct, look under the "Pool" stats page as well as your dash. I may also have found the magic bullet for certain payout issues, but still need to get the old screwed up bookkeeping straightened out. A few nights out of the week I've spent a good few hours scouring the block explorer just verifying payouts, making sure nothing is -actually- missing. And then, a couple nights ago, TheSerapher tells me "oh, don't trust the validation script, it lies".. kill me now. But, payments are good. I can't think of any reasons why you shouldn't use my pool, so USE MY POOL! lol
Edric's always ready to help.

Well shit. Looks like I may have opened Pandora's Edric's Box... That sounded sexual.

Thanks for sharing, and anytime. I can easily be reached through just about any means and am usually up late.

I am terrible at writing about myself, maybe its the lingering self image/worth issues, or maybe I am not one to readily open up to others. Damn, this is spot on But am positive that I happen to be highly Vanilla compared to what crazy shenanigans you have been up to. I am also certain that I happen to be the youngster of the group too, so no stories of my ex wife or wife trashing my stuff, not even girlfriend - I lived a quiet enclosed life and am still adjusting to the newer me, if that means anything.

Technology and gaming have always had their spot in my life, which is what I mostly do fill up the long gaps of nothingness in my day to day schedule. Apart from this I maintain several other hobbies including daytrading cryptos, cooking (I challenge your pizza recipe), dressing up like a handsome bastard, reading random articles on Wikis, and of course - writing the OctoCoin news. There are still times where i literally open and close Internet windows because I have so little to do, which is why I am looking for another hobby to add to the collection.

I can't believe these boring ass 6 sentences took me close to 45 minutes to write... And It's 2:30 AM now. I have work tomorrow   Cry

I'll think up a name or two for your Hi/lo and post what Ive got here later on tomorrow.
You made me laugh hard.. My box..

I may not be a handsome bastard anymore, but I'll take the pizza challenge any day!!! It's been years since I made a homemade pizza, but man, when I was working in those restaurants I was tearing it up! I was with Little Caesar's on and off from '98-2010 and have done various stints at Papa Johns, Pizza Slut, and some mom n pop places, the best being New York pizza, run by a crazy Albanian guy, god his pizza was nasty, but he sold HUGE slices for a buck.. The customers liked it when he'd take a day off and I'd be making the pizzas, I made the "special sauce". Those were bad times in my life but I had great times in that place, plus I'd get to cook and eat whatever I wanted free. The crazy thing is I'd probably be a GM for Little Caesar's right now if it wasn't for my ex... I was the asst. manager, she was the new cashier, that's how we met. Crazy eh?

@Jagged, I don't think we're in too much trouble but I'm going to try not to contribute to the problem by selling cheap. This just means I need to get off my ass and get my plans rolling, because there's a bunch of crapcoins out there with tons of gaming options available, and people are tearing it up. I'm gonna be busting my butt today on it, so keep your eyes peeled.
