381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should Ethereum Add the "Frozen Wallet" Feature for Certain Adresss? on: November 04, 2019, 09:49:44 PM
As we know, there are currently many cases of crypto hacking, especially this often occurs in ERC20-based tokens. So to anticipate this, should Ethereum add the "Frozen Wallet" feature just for certain Adresss to their smart contract? I think this way can prevent the hackers to selling their loot. Although this method will change the crypto vision from "decentralization" to "centralization", but if this method is effective I think it's no matter.

What do you think?
This is not something to be accepted by the majority, including myself. This will be used in other events other than hacking in the future, and the result will be very bad. There are privacy tokens like 0x based on Ethereum, how will they keep the project alive? This decision could harm ETH rather than benefit. On the other hand, what should ETH do to the hacking event after the measures have not been taken to counter it?
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Staking-as-a-service, Opinions? on: November 04, 2019, 09:23:18 PM
Hey guys I am not very familiar with the topic of staking and staking-as-a-service. But I just saw yesterday evening that SMART VALOR a Swiss crypto exchange started their staking campaign where you can either stake Dash or their native token VALOR.

They state that revenues are up to 6.9% for Dash and 15% for VALOR. Here is the link for their announcement:
https://news.smartvalor.com/staking-dash-available-on-smart-valor-platform/

What do you guys think about it? I think it could be good alternative for earning some passive income (if I understand the concept correctly) like interest back in the days bank used to pay some Grin

I have never been interested in such passive income earning projects, and I would not recommend it to others. The amount you send will remain in their cold wallet for 1 year and you do not know what will happen at the end. It is even more important than reliability of exchange. To me, the coin is yours as long as it is in your wallet, but if it is elsewhere, you should be nervous until you get.
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: could it be most project don't succeed? on: November 04, 2019, 08:54:34 PM
Is there no other ways BTT can track and trace such people posting such project in the forum?
Is there no way we can run free and fair project in the system without us being scammed or tricked?
Obviously, there is not much thing a public forum can do about it. Some conditions, such as collateral, may be used to counteract this issue. However, such conditions will aslo send away non-scam projects. It may be a solution for project owners to give a certain amount to the predetermined persons as collateral over a certain period of time. But not every project will be able to afford it.
384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Dogecoin real or a meme? on: November 04, 2019, 04:07:12 PM
I recently heard of Dogecoin from a couple of friends of mine. Is it a meme or an actual cryptocurrency, because so I would like to get some myself. Also, what trading platforms trade Dogecoin?

Also, if possible can you mention any useful information about Dogecoin that I can use when trading it or buy it. Thanks.

Dogecoin was originally created as a meme coin, but when they saw it was useful, they started taking it seriously. I do not understand why you can not get any results. At least look at the daily trade volume: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dogecoin/ . $63 million (in CMC). Do you think meme coin can be such valuable? I think no.
385  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency usage will boost economy or make it worst ? on: November 04, 2019, 07:12:22 AM
What if all those big corporates and businesses starts using crypto as a mode of payment just to avoid tax which will cause a direct loss to the government which uses tax for the betterment of the country. This might not affect corrupt countries as it doesn't matter because tax money goes to politician's coffers but what about developed nations?
First of all, they can not act as they wish. I mean, using crypto as a payment, tax evasion, and others. There is a framework enacted by the laws of the country, and if big corporates and businesses go outside this framework, the government will punish them. In addition, the opposite company or people should accept crypto as payment. If not, how are you going to pay the company payments or the money you have to pay when you buy raw materials from someone?
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to earn free altcoin ?? on: November 04, 2019, 06:35:32 AM
I will inform you that you can get free earning just posting or viewing of ads on website's.  Although the one that gave me some good satoshi's is from cryptotalk.org which pays 1000 sat. You can try to contribute and earn on their platform but am not doing that though because am not a good fan of their exchange. Many years ago they scrammed my and I hate them.
Instead of viewing ads join any bounty here. If you join BTC paid ones, it will be better than you earn with ads. While you may not prefer Cryptotalk, there may be those who prefer it. It is just a new forum and maybe the reward is less, but it pays you for every post you write. If you join, you do not lose anything. In addition, never see your reward from Bounty as free money. Bounty reward does not come from the air, think about how much time you spent when you made it.
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to search for a token name on: November 04, 2019, 05:43:41 AM
We are creating a new token and want to see if our name we are thinking of using has been used before or is in use.  How do we check this?
Yes, you can just search it on google. You can also add etherscan.io to the name you are looking for if you are creating it based on ETH. So you can easily find out whether the name is used or not.

Also you can search on CMC or on other sites like this, but there are very few coin/token names available on the market.
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Pax a good holding on: November 04, 2019, 05:15:48 AM
I am selling BTC and want to know if PAX is a good holding spot till there is a low in BTC again?
Are we talking about stable Pax? Because I do not understand why you want to hold PAX, it is just a stablecoin and holding it will not give you anything. Why do not you try the BTC itself instead? If, as I thought, you could make over 50% profit till halving. Or you can reduce the risk by adding a few altcoins to portfolio.
389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another day, another Faketoshi on: November 03, 2019, 10:42:50 PM
Profile picture just like himself. lol Looks he want to be popular from this way, but what does this kind of popularity give him? he will only be scolded by the community.
390  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the solution about CMC fake volume..? on: November 03, 2019, 10:16:56 PM
1. How can an exchange create such a fake volume..?
The false inflated volume by the trade of bots can belong to this.
2. What is the best solution for this problem..?
Frankly, CMC does not have much thing to do in this regard. Devs set some criteria for exchanges to be added to list, but there are some differences that you can not take against them. If you wish, try other options like coinlib.
3. Are CMC authority take any steps for those problems yet..?
IMO they are not pleased with this situation too. Because it does not bring them anything to keep site visitors away.
4. If they'll not take any steps will it be a good idea to ignore CMC and find some new Market Cap website like CoinGecko..? (Though i don't know how much trust worthy this website also)
It is your choice, use whichever suits you best. I guess CMC will not be mad at you for that. lol
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum in Numbers: What Has Been Achieved So Far on: November 03, 2019, 09:45:07 PM
the biggest achievement I know of is ethereum being the number one platform and being the first choice for companies that want to integrate their platforms and make their own crypto coins.

many Dapps platftom at the moment and may be better than ethereum, but nothing can beat ethereum's success. 90% of altcoin projects are currently on the ethereum blockchain network and the numbers will continue to grow in the future.
but what makes ethereum very bad are many scam projects originating from ethereum, this is what makes ethereum's view a hotbed for scam projects. The ethereum project is constantly developing and ethereum developers always provide the latest innovations. Ethereum 2.0 is a manifestation of the seriousness of the Ethereum platform which will be launched in the coming year 2020. Much has been achieved by ethereum all this time to become the second valuable coin after bitcoin.
Scam projects are the result of our misunderstanding of purity. Ethereum was set up just to make things easier, but we use this easiness in the wrong direction. Otherwise, we should blame ourselves, not the ETH. Besides, check out this list: https://eidoo.io/erc20-tokens-list. We should see these as the reward that ETH has earned us.
392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain.com hardware wallet vs Ledger live on: November 03, 2019, 09:13:06 PM
Is this the same security?  The only reason I am thinking on moving to the blockchain site hardware wallet vs ledger live is on ledger live they don't show your value on your erc tokens like PAX or Teather and blockchain.com does.

Where would you store you assets for safety?
I have looked at a few places on this topic and I came to this conclusion:
1.Blockchain lockbox only works on blockchain.com
-Ledger Live works almost anywhere.

2.Blockcahin lockbox only supports: BTC, BCH, ETH and XLM.
-In this link you can find out which cryptos Ledger Live supports: https://shop.ledger.com/pages/supported-crypto-assets

As you can see, Ledger is more useful.
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "Centrality" for decentralization? on: November 03, 2019, 08:49:47 PM

Heard of the project "Centrality" from NZ? They have a decent team and website (https://centrality.ai/).

But isn't it weird to call yourself centrality if blockchain is all about achieving decentralization?
I am not familiar with this project. But I should remind you that this project is not the first centralized project. Decentralization is no longer a highly valued factor for majority. The request by the central powers for regulation, the less attention given to DEXs can be seen as an answer to your question. To earn the paper money we want to move away, we sell the decentralization we want to move closer. Oddly enough, most of us are doing this now either compulsorily or willingly.

Bad marketing Smiley and on that note: can someone explain to me why this project is supposed to be useful, given that we already have Ethereum and other Dapp blockchains?
Is that their marketing idea?
394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Tide Lifting All Altcoins Boats on: November 03, 2019, 08:25:45 PM
I know we all have an inherent desire to know why things happen but at some point you need to be willing to let go of things and accept that some stuff just happened because of the random nature of the markets, when there are as many coins as we have in the market some coins will behave in a slightly different way than the other coins and will present greater profits or greater losses, there is nothing really special about bitcoin SV and you should stop looking for any answer.
When BSV gained "popularity" a few months ago, the incessant increase in price could actually be the answer to this question. When the price had to go down, it moved in the opposite direction, and I do not think it was due to the naturalness of the market. I think that this increase is due to the intervention from the external powers. Maybe I am not right in my opinion, but frankly, I have not seen anyone supporting it in a long time.
395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin at the end of 2019? on: November 03, 2019, 11:59:14 AM
I put in Litecoin halving into google and got:

"Will litecoin go up 2019?
According to oracletime.com, the advantages of Litecoin over Bitcoin will interest many new investors. Their Litecoin forecasts for the end of 2019 is $1000, but there are predictions that it could even rise up to $2000!"

Thoughts?
The price of LTC is lower than its value, but by the end of this year $1000 has been a huge claim. Even BTC's reach of 20k will not help LTC. The current price is around $58 and the price should be increase almost 19x, even if it is LTC. It is likely that prices will rise until halving, but I think it will not be that much. This is not a newly created coin, this is the LTC with a daily volume of over 3 billion. I think, do not trust your source too much.
396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Take advantage of some systems in the blockchain on: November 03, 2019, 11:27:08 AM
A long time ago I was seeing that you can create schemes, or forms of organization in which a large number of people can take advantage of how any platform works:

An example of this could be to use content creation platforms, and take advantage of the voting value, to pharm or get tokens.

If you are interested, or wish to propose a method (without resorting to fraud) then go to the following discord: https://discord.gg/uNf6n2h

Sharing such polls with the community and being able to gather everyone there will produce good results. Indeed, this form itself has such options. However, the important issue is that the community is sensitive and does not hesitate to give its opinion, which we generally do not see.

The discord group you set up is not in English. In this case, it will be difficult to gather community other than locals.
397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs really DEAD or simply cleared a path for better projects? on: November 03, 2019, 11:03:56 AM
Smoke and mirrors my friend... I think this is just the last scammers giving it a try... the whole market has already moved to IEO...
Why would people still invest in something with a much higher risk than IEO? Not that IEO is perfect as it still has it's risks, but is way much better than ICO... so....
The issue of ICO and IEO has not been finishing since the beginning of this year. What does that matter? both have the same risks: the possibility of scam. If you already trust the project and the team, the sales will be suitable for the project itself. While this is only a small factor, why should it be so magnified? Sales is the last step, there are more steps up to that, pay attention to the previous ones.
398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More Debt, Buy Bitcoin on: November 03, 2019, 10:38:44 AM

The whole world is saddled with gargantuan debt. Countries right now are using debt facility to cover up their inefficiencies and inability to meet their financial needs due to rising number of programs yet decreasing stream of revenues. Aside from the printing of money, borrowing money from anywhere has become the accepted norm. The more money they can hoard from many sources inside and outside their country, the better they feel secured and safe.

But is debt a very secured thing to enter into? Debt can be a big trap and many countries are now starting to feel the heat...soon this on and off heat can be transforming into a fire and an explosion that can engulf not their own country's economy but also can be spreading to neighboring countries as well, just like what we witnessed in the 2008-2009 USA recession.

In the USA alone, national debt is now over $23 trillion, according to website U.S Debt Clock. The milestone has been pointed out on Nov. 1 by Bitcoin advocate Twitter personality Rhythm, who also said that every dollar of U.S. national debt is, in fact, a reason to buy Bitcoin (BTC). Another user presented another interesting take adding: “That’s more than $1,000,000 debt per 1 Bitcoin.”

Indeed, we will soon witness this whole thing explodes right before our eyes. And with this as the backdrop, we should be looking at cryptocurrency seriously as one of the many possible ways we can be protected.
Do we already value crypto with that money? If there is a crypto that has value in itself, lets do it, but it is very difficult to establish such a system for now. In my opinion, the current situation of crypto is not available for this, while we can not use it as a method of payment still. 1 BTC=1 BTC for the future (for now too) yes, but if you exchange all your money to BTC, what are you going to do now?
399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kakaotalk's Blockchain adoption Klaytn is growing well! on: November 03, 2019, 08:45:36 AM
Even two weeks ago, maximum people did not know about Klaytn Blockchain Network! It's from the Korean biggest social network platform Kakao Talk! Kakao has 50 Million regular users! So, there should be much hype and talk about Klaytn, but there wasn't.

Now, Klaytn has some great news! They keep listing on reputed exchanges! Its KLAY coin has been listed on Upbit and BW exchange and ut has a very good volume already! They are partnering with strong project and promoting in exchanges!

What is your prediction about Klaytn, guys? Will Klaytn enter into the top 50 coins rank?
What I do not understand is why these kinds of projects do not come together and create something together. Telegram, Facebook, Kakaotalk and others are all looking to create their own coins. But, if they assemble their power, a much stronger and more reliable coin will emerge. I accept the natural state of such a system, this is something that they should do themselves but, I can not see anything like I said.
400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO investors are more excited on exchanges than product developments? on: November 03, 2019, 08:23:21 AM
This is the reality nowadays, but I don't know if you agree or not.

As what I have observed since last year, lots of ICO investors are more excited and making some noise when a crypto startup announced that they will be listed in some exchanges.

I have browsed a lot of Telegram groups coming from various ICOs, IEOs and other forms of token sales. When they announce their partnership with a "XXX" company or they have launched their v2.0 of their product, it seems that the community are kind of less impressed and not excited about that.

Last year, there's an ICO where until now, they haven't listed in an exchange as they focused more on product development. It's like almost 2 years and they haven't listed their token yet in exchanges but they only give us a quarterly report on what they're doing with the product. It results for most investors to become impatient and demand their money back or getting listed to exchanges at least.

This is what I've been observing for now, the behavior of most investors who are expecting their returns or gains after the ICO is complete. What do you say guys? Agree with this or not?

Absolutely right. The majority consider investment in IEO/ICO as a fast money making mechanism. When something goes wrong, the "ban" process starts. That is why there is a great need for IEOs in bigger exchanges such as Binance. Binance is one of the most important mechanisms of this system. Product and targets are no longer important factors. The important thing is that in which exchange IEO will be.
