MtGox clones should use CloudFlare, which filters DDOS and SQL/XSS attacks before returning clean traffic to your site. Combine that with Banshee secure PHP and Hiawatha serving up pages on separate partitions with nosuid/noroot/ect limited access, wrappers instead of direct database calls, and apparmor for protection instead of chroot (or could use both) and should be good2go.

382  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's up with Canadian Post? on: June 21, 2011, 10:03:25 PM
Pension cuts and rate cuts were for new workers ONLY (i.e. someone not hired for full-time yet) and rates would go up over time served.  Sounds, reasonable, no?  Better than say... no job?

This is called union busting. You hire a bunch of people making half the wage, then slowly start firing/laying off everybody else who makes the higher wage.

Canada Post can easily make a system like Technocash.com and make money from internet merchants to pay whatever demands the union has. They could also model themselves after Swiss or French post, where you can do all your banking, send money and other financial services.

They already have a brick and mortar building in every city in Canada, why not use it for merchants and make huge money on fees. They could even release their own ATM cards for merchants and take 4% fees yet still be 1/4 the price of Visa/MC payments.

strike until next week when they force everybody back to work (monday?)
384  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: About Mt. Gox flaw from a security expert on: June 21, 2011, 09:20:38 AM
This thread is pointless, since the 'auditor' handed over database access to somebody through total carelessness so breach would've happened regardless of OS. I bet the auditor had it lying around his gmail account or unencrypted on the desktop in a file called 'STEALTHIS.TXT'

385  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Clever tricks starting to appear: buying and selling on: June 12, 2011, 04:17:08 PM
here's a clever trick

go to infraud(dot)cc
buy a stolen paypal account+email combo for $10-25 with $5k in it
some vendors there also have full ebay accounts w/loaded paypals freshly stolen daily.
buy a proxy from vip72.com that's in that paypal's area

login thru tor, add proxy
scam the hell out of ebay sellers, steal all their bitcoins

enjoy your bitcoins while paypal reverses the transaction 2-7 days later, leaving seller broke.
why am I telling you this? because somebody (a scammer) is going to do it. might as well full disclosure.

never sell ecurrency 4 paypal
386  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Buy stuff on ebay with bitcoins. on: June 12, 2011, 03:17:25 PM
sent u Pm to buy a script with paypal i need
387  Economy / Marketplace / Re: avoiding chargebacks on: June 12, 2011, 03:09:43 PM
you can buy paypal accounts that come w/debit cards and VBA (virtual bank accounts) everywhere for cheap but they usually get cancelled pretty quick. just stop using paypal already

why don't you guy's use liqpay.com instead? tell people to make their own liqpay account and fund it with visa/mc (FREE)

tell them to send it to your account (FREE)

then trade with this guy to get it out (1-2% fee)
http://www.talkgold.com/forum/r322723-.html

Because sometimes liqpay will act like paypal and seize suspicious accounts make sure you trade with the technocashier guy first to get out your money before releasing bitcoins. He's on 24/7 and you can set up a deal with him to send money to his account and have it instantly withdraw to Paypal or something else. If for some reason your account is locked (they don't allow trading for other currencies) the buyer will get their money refunded back to card. Just get a another throwaway prepaid phone if that happens and make a new account.

Make sure you never directly try to bill customers with CC through liqpay, they have to fund their own account first. Liqpay doesn't allow chargebacks because they have a crazy fraud prevention system. Sometimes funding your own account over $200 can take up to 5 days to go through verification, then every charge after is instant. Sometimes the charge is instant.

LR exchangers do this everyday
388  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Brick and Mortar merchant initial impressions. on: June 12, 2011, 02:54:09 PM
no idea why anybody would want to use bitcoin in a store when we have cash. bitcoin to me exists as a way to safely exchange money on the internets as it cuts out a lot of BS.

example:
Liberty Reserve or WMZ model:
-you have to have your own account
-you have to fund it
-you then send it to vendor
-3rd party funding strictly not allowed
-centralized and all transactions logged

bitcoin:
-customer simply cuts+pastes the payment address
-gives currency to an exchanger, they directly fund that address (3rd party funding)

just need more bitcoin exchangers. where's the ultimate gaming card 2 bitcoin exchanger? paste in your card code, paste in payment address, few mins later it's funded. lot's of ultimate gaming card 2 LR exchangers, this can't be too difficult.

389  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Canadians! I buy your Bitcoins! [back!] on: June 09, 2011, 04:31:25 PM
Sure send me a PM I'll check it out l8rz
TD will reinburse the guy who had his account broken into and initiated the fraud Interac. They won't reinburse you for receiving stolen funds or else carders would abuse this easily.

Those sites also have thousands of Bank of America and other logins from around the world. It's easy to get bank logins, set up man-in-the-middle wireless attack at an airport or busy downtown cafe and presto, dozens of accounts rolling in. There was even a guy there with his own fake mini cell tower he aimed at a bank to steal passwords over the phone
390  Economy / Marketplace / Re: TradeHill.com on: June 09, 2011, 04:17:34 PM
"TradeHill has over 50 deposit and transfer methods in over 20 currencies"

I only see BTC deposit and a few for USD..?
391  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Canadians! I buy your Bitcoins! [back!] on: June 09, 2011, 04:03:07 PM
Just so other canajUNz know Interac Email transfers are worse reliability than PayPal. Anybody can sign into a stolen or phished account, send you funds then your bank 72hrs later reverses the transactions. This guy has good bitcoin-cad rating tho

Most people using bitcoins arent gonna let thier email account get phished or stolen, Ontop of that, it's not the email thats the security flaw, the Email is simpley the messenger, You must log into your bank to send an Interac Email Money Transfer

I honestly dont know where you see the security risks, Aside from the whole CC escrow flaw

They sell stolen scotiabank and td bank logins on infraud.cc, carder.pro, carder,su and about 14 other forums for only $25/ea. I can buy 4 of them and start sending you fraudulent transactions of $1k each for your bitcoins and run away with them. Next week you are broke

Be careful Smiley Interac Email payments are easy to fraud and there's already private threads on those boards taking an interest in ripping off bitcoin vendors. They would buy accounts here with high post count or phish them (they already have a few) and then make threads like this encouraging people to sell all their coins to them. Doubt anybody checked this guy's rating on bitcoin-cad

393  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Any Canadian bitcoin buyers or sellers try Virtex Exchange yet? on: June 08, 2011, 10:46:17 PM
This is awesome, but slight problems, system let's you buy/withdraw up to $10k no ID however crappy Canadian law is max $1999 per transaction and you have to take ID

Also this site is not set up to prevent fraud. Places like carder.pro have 1200 TD bank logins for sale where anybody can sign in and send an Interac Email payment. 1hr later receive untraceable currency, a carders goldmine.

Another problem.. cash deposits he doesn't ask for a receipt scan. You can easily scam people on craigslist and other sites to go make a cash deposit and fund your BTC account.. make off with the funds (every LR site requests scans or fax of receipt to prevent auction fraud)

Yet another problem.. Moneymart doesn't allow 3rd party loads of cards I already tried :X .. instead there's nishecards and other cdn reloadable debit cards he can use which are more anonymous

Finallly... 1and1.com it's host doesn't do DDOS protection. Every currency site get's DOSd eventually by competitors.

So basically if the 15 F/T carder sites I know of with ~3200 members each of pro fraudsters get wind of this, they will be raping it like a boss
394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Garzik encourages regulation on: June 08, 2011, 10:28:13 PM
I still think it's suicide for anybody to consider exchanging bitcoin in the US, or Liberty Reserve, Pecunix ect.
Russia doesn't give a fuck. They have fleets of LR exchangers that will cash you out $50k at a time without asking for ID. Same with Vietnam

Doesn't really matter like that other guy said, since names can't really be tied to transactions, and since there is no central authority you can split up your gagillions in bitcoins into multiple exchangers and cash out under the radar an epic amount legally
395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Memory Dealers is about to email 15,000 people in High tech about Bitcoins on: June 08, 2011, 09:54:07 PM
obviously you give them a link to your bitcoin exchanger you just created
???
profit :)
396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chuck Schumer and Joe Manchin sending DEA to shut down Silkroad/Bitcoins on: June 08, 2011, 09:42:23 PM
Bitcoin is decentralized you can't shut it down.
They can harass MtGox to hell though or DDOS it into oblivion and screw with the price, since there's no real competitors for MtGox

Everybody create a MtGox clone that accepts and pays out in LR, HDmoney and EuroGoldCash

No real competitors to MtGox, eh?

Here ya go: https://www.tradehill.com/

Use this code to get a discount on trading fees: TH-R1168

Hosted by Godaddy and reg'd through Godaddy. Domain pull and server seizure imminent by feds.
If the escrow wallet.dat is on jomax.net servers this service is doomed.

Host in Luxembourg. Transfer domain offshore. Use CloudFlare to protect it from the DDOS attacks that will be coming. Then, BALLIN'
397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Worldwide Exclusive: New Competitor to MtGox: http://TradeHill.com on: June 08, 2011, 09:34:35 PM
No problem depositing coins
Click on Add Funds, Click on BTC, click on the text, then click on menu item 'Dashboard' and there's the send 2 address under "Your Pending Deposits & Withdraws"
398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Worldwide Exclusive: New Competitor to MtGox: http://TradeHill.com on: June 08, 2011, 09:25:33 PM
They made a fatal mistake in using GoDaddy to both register the domain and host (jomax.net = godaddy)
USA can pull them both whenever they feel like it.

Use offshore domain and hosting. Use CloudFlare for DDOS protection, if they'll host LulzSec they'll host Bitcoin exchangers but at least you won't have your escrow wallet.dat seized  (i'm betting it's hosted on jomax.net too)
