We will be upgrading our servers in about 1 hour. We expect to be down for at least a few hours. Sorry for the inconvenience!

I understand not wanting double spends going through.  No worries.   It took like 2.5 hours for all my transactions to go out yesterday when blockchain.info was gacked.

blockchain.info has been really buggy lately.

The other day we pushed a few transactions using their service, and they were never sent to the Bitcoin network. Their website showed that everything was fine however. Finally we had to re-push the transactions using another service. Hopefully they'll get their act together soon.

Not sure I'd say it was a big win.

I've deposited since then.  There's a weird wait that says pending.

I've lost that 2 bitcoin, but won on slots and cashed our 0.66 so I wouldn't say the entire things was a loss.

The instant payout is easily the best feature.  No approval from a manager or nuthin.  That part is really cool.

Thanks for posting those nice words about the site! Smiley

We've had some trouble with double-spend attacks so now we unfortunately require 1 confirmation for some deposits. We have a system in place that flags deposits that could potentially be double-spent. If a deposit is flagged, it will get credited after 1 confirmation.

Most deposits should still get credited instantly (zero confirmations). If your deposit has a good miner's fee and does not use any unconfirmed inputs, your deposit should almost always be instant.

It's annoying that we have to sometimes wait for 1 confirmation, but the double-spend attacker unfortunately made this necessary. Sad

Hello everyone,

We do not know who posted this message. They are not associated with Bitcoin Video Casino in any way whatsoever. This post is almost definitely a scam.

You should create a thread in "scam accusations" https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0 and ask users on the default trust network to give that guy a negative trust for impersonation. This should help prevent others from being scammed.

Negative feedback left.

Feel free to message me if you see something like this again and I'll leave negative feedback on the scammer.

Thanks! Smiley

Withdrawing to multisig "3XXXX" addresses should now work fine. Please let us know if you are still having trouble withdrawing to a multisig address and we will take a closer look. Thanks! Smiley

Hi again:  Just wanted to say 'thanks' in public for the bug-reward you sent.  Much appreciated.

Also, I hate to be a pain in the ass but I recently noticed one more issue too: Are you guys gonna update the BVC "withdraw code" to allow withdrawals to multi-sig addresses any time soon?

By multi-sig I mean those bitcoin wallet addresses that start with a "3" rather than the usual, simple ones that start with a "1"...?

Not sure if "multi-sig" is the right term for that, but I've tried a couple times to withdraw to other wallets I use sometimes, like Copay and GreenAddress, that ONLY seem to use the "3 type" addresses, and the BVC site code always says it's an invalid address.

My solution meantime has been to send to a temporary wallet on RushWallet or Blockchain.info and THEN re-send to my final destination "3" address, but that's kinda a pain in the ass, and it costs an extra transaction fee (and confirmation time delay too).

Anyway, IS this a really complex thing?  Shouldn't the BVC wallet really be able to send to ANY truly VALID bitcoin address?

Thanks Smiley

This is actually the first that we've heard about being unable to withdraw to a multisig address. I'm sorry that you've had to make your withdrawals to your multisig address in such a roundabout way.

I took a quick look at our backend withdrawal code and I do see that we first check for a "1" as the first character of the withdrawal address before checking the entire address against its checksum. I believe it should be possible to change that first code to look for a 1 or a 3, or perhaps just get rid of that check altogether, since verifying the checksum should be sufficient.

I hope this hasn't been a problem for a lot of other users!

We should have this fixed soon.

OMG yeah I didn't think of that: if someone mixed up their withdraw with the miner fee box and sent a miner several hundred dollars for a few cents worth of bitcoin, yeah that would seriously suck LOL.  So, yeah, no... never mind my idea.  Bad idea. LOL

Honestly I play so fast I can't remember hardly any individual hand after a few seconds, LOL

But looking at the screen shot I saved of the error dialog box, I think we can see that the dealer had a hard 17 there and my hand (with 8 chips bet) consists of four cards.  I don't know what the cards were exactly but clearly ONE of the cards is missing from by browser's understanding of the hand dealt!

If starting hand was A-5 vs dealer 17 that's a hit of course. 6/16 plus the next (?) card of 7 makes it hard 13 vs 17 so I'd have HIT again: if I then got another Ace it's only 14 vs 17 *SO* yes I WOULD have HIT again (to presumably get that KING and bust out at 24) but since we can see there that my hand only shows FOUR cards, it appears the browser thinks I stood on 14 versus dealer 17??

Either way I would have lost the hand (bust out or 14 loss to hard 17) so regardless it's a correct result that my 8 chips bet was lost.

But it's very strange (and a little worrisome) that the server and my browser could have "LOST" a card here.

IF this was a big bet and/or IF it was a lost card that'd make the house win versus player win, THAT is potentially a big problem Sad

P.S. Thanks for upping the fee for us, hopefully temporarily, to help the slow transaction clearing problem. Nice of you Smiley

Hehe yeah maybe we'll hold off on the extra miner's fee field for now. Smiley

Yes it's very strange that the number of cards that your browser is showing is different than what the server thinks. It certainly makes sense that you would have hit on 14 when the dealer shows 17, so for some reason your browser does not show that final card that you hit.

As part of our provably fair system, we sanity check variables on the client and server side to make sure everything is consistent. This has helped us uncover a few bugs during development in addition to proving that our games are fair and completely random. Fortunately if a user were playing a big hand he would see this dialog box and could then contact us to claim his winnings.

We've tried to reproduce this bug by autoplaying games on a development server for days on end without any luck. Bitcoin Video Casino has been around for 2.5 years now and this is now the second time we've heard about this bug. The other user had the same issue -- the number of hits on the server was not the same as the client. I wonder if some kind of network issue is causing things to get out of sync? That might explain why we can't reproduce this locally. We will try to take another look at the client code. I really would love to fix this super rare issue but if we can't reproduce it we don't really know where to look... Sad

Thanks for letting us know about this issue.

If you PM me your Bitcoin address I will refund your game and send you some extra coins for your troubles. Smiley

Hi Admin:

Couple things:

FIRST with the stupid "stress test" nonsense aka "attack" on the bitcoin network last few days, I'd really like to see you implement an additional option-box on the cash-out dialog for BVC to add optional extra miner fee to our withdrawals!

Just something simple like:

This would prevent the situation I had yesterday where my BVC withdrawal of over a thousand dollars worth of bitcoin was held up nearly 12 hours due to it having "only" the default 0.0001 fee on it!

I would very happily have put an extra ten cents (!!!) onto that just to get my money as quickly as it usually works!!!

It's not YOUR fault, of course... lots of wallets have the "can't specify miner fee" problem but it'd be very cool of BVC if YOU GUYS could add something like this for us loyal players on your site!

SECOND, I had a weird thing happen the other day, never saw it before over literally *thousands* of games played on your site over the last many months.

Not a big deal, don't really care about the small amount of money (fortunately it happened on a small bet of just a few chips and not one of my occasional throw caution to the wind 1-BTC ten-thousand-chip plungers LOL)

...no idea what happened here, really, but just curious to hear from you about it, if anything?

Thanks Smiley

Hi!

It's definitely been a bit annoying these past few days because of the greatly increased spam transactions flooding the Bitcoin network. It can cause some withdrawals to take a while to get confirmed, and it is also messing with our zero-confirmation deposit confidence system, which means that more deposits now require 1 confirmation before the account gets credited. I really do hope that the Bitcoin network will return to normal soon.

An extra field for additional miner's fee could be a good idea. I'm a bit worried that users might get confused about what this field means, since not everyone knows how Bitcoin works. Some users might also accidentally mix up the miner's fee and withdrawal amount fields, which would be a devastating loss.

For now we have increased the miner's fee per withdrawal to 0.0003 BTC, which should guarantee that the withdrawal has a higher priority than all of the spam transactions. We will only charge a 0.0001 BTC fee for withdrawals to keep everyone happy. Smiley

If this new fee is not big enough to guarantee inclusion in the next block, we can increase it further.

Regarding the "game error" dialog, that is very strange! We have heard about this same error about one year ago. I was able to locate your game in the database. According to the server, you hit 3 times and were dealt ace, 5, 7, ace, king. Is that correct? The error is saying that what your browser thinks you did is not the same as what the server thinks you did. Did you notice anything strange before you got that error?

I love your casino. It is the smoothest and the best.  I am sticking to your video poker which is great.  By no means is your casino at fault.  I just have super bad luck. I see all the jackpots being won but I am a small fish.  I did hit four wilds yesterday.  Also, why don't you have the 2x or 1/2x bets for your blackjack?  That would be great.  But so their is no confusion, I love your site.  Sorry for my belly aching.  I know slots are the worst odds but I am a degenerate when it comes to the slots.  The other site has a variety of slots but your casino is better because of ease of deposits, customer service and no bugs.  I just need to learn to stop playing the slots and being greedy.  Also, I want to make it clear that I do win sometimes but the losing streaks make me go on tilt and play the higher levels which is my fault. i will continue to play your casino because it is the best.  My luck however sucks and that is no fault of yours.

Wow! Thanks for the really nice words about our site! Smiley

We've worked really hard on making this site fun for everyone, so it's always wonderful to hear that people are enjoying it.

Sorry about your super bad luck. Hopefully your luck will turn around. Smiley

I know your site is legit but the house edge is the worst I ever seen.  I have 15 spins with nothing.  Never do I get anything .  I love the play and it is a nice site but out by far the tightest slots ever.  You need to put thirty btc to even see something worth of value.  Bottom line is no fun.

The house edge does not have to be the cause of that. They can have a 1% edge and have a payout for only 0.1% of the bets! It just depends on the distribution of the winnings.

Also, it seems that they have a solid provably fair system, so I truly doubt that they cheat anyone.

By the way how are the slots at the casino on your signature?  Might give it a try

They're great Wink

7 bit casino is fast and professionally designed, I would say one of the best ones currently on the bitcoin scene, I really recommend you try them out.

Thanks.  Their slots are much looser and their layout is great.  I actually feel as if I have a chance.  BVC is great too but unless you have 20 coins to chase the jackpots you have no chance.  I'm sure many people win but the listing steaks are as bad as bitzinos.

I took a look at the site but was unable to see anywhere that shows how their reels are configured. I was hoping to compare their reels to BVC's reels to see what makes them different. What is the expected return? I guess if they don't have a jackpot they can put more into the base payouts. Some users might like this, and some users might miss having a jackpot. I'm also having trouble finding their provably fair system, which might scare away some users.

Does anyone win on this site?  I see there are jackpots but aside those you lose 75% of your bets.  Slots and videopoker is rigged.  Skeptical abot the jackpots to.  Putin over 10 bitcoins and never win.  Done with this super tight site.  This site is not for the casusal better.

I'm really sorry to hear that you've been having bad luck on the site. Sad

It's not possible for us to cheat on this site since all games are provably fair. This means that every game is guaranteed to be completely random and independent from all other games. You can click on the green "verify" button to confirm that the provably fair calculations are correct.

We don't want people to think that our games are somehow unfair. But unfortunately sometimes losing streaks can make it seem that way.

In slots, if you click on the "help" button and then the "reels" button, you can see how the reels are laid out. The game must then use those reels. It's not possible for us to rig slots.

Some people have very good luck on the site. A few hours ago we paid out 28.869 BTC to a lucky slots player.

With the new rule about the 1 confirmation on deposits - maybe a "p" (or pending) or something next to the balance at the bottom.

I had a deposit and wasn't looking.  Thought I saw something, but didn't catch it.  Checked this thread and realized that's probably what it was.

Yes, a "P" or something like that next to the balance could be a good idea.

The new "pending deposit" popup dialog box looks a lot like the original "new deposit" popup, so it's easy to quickly dismiss the dialog box and then wonder where the credits are.

Most deposits still don't require any confirmations, so this shouldn't be a problem for most people. We can try to further tweak our system to prevent more transactions requiring one confirmation.

What is happening with your affiliate programme? Number of my "Referral accounts created" is reducing every day? Are they deleting accounts? Have you made profit on them and don't want to share so you remove them yourself?  Huh

Thanks for being a BVC affiliate! Smiley

We regularly delete old accounts that have absolutely no activity associated with them. I'm guessing that some of your referred users created a new account, but then didn't make any deposits or play any games. The "referral accounts playing" number should never go down, since those are legitimate playing users.

We never delete any accounts that have played games or have made deposits. We would never delete an account to try to lower affiliate payouts. If the affiliate program can bring more users to our site then we will happily share 25% of our profit. Smiley

How do you double spend?  When I lose my account is at zero.  Please excuse my ignorance if this is readily apparent and I am not getting it.

Cwil wrote a good explanation of how a double spend could work.

Sure, I'll explain it.  You control two addresses, A and B.  A has some balance.  You create a transaction with some casino that credits your balance with 0 confirmations as the recipient which we'll call Tx1.  You create another transaction using the same inputs as Tx1 with B as the recipient which we'll call Tx2.  Broadcast Tx1.  As soon as the casino credits your balance, you place a bet.  If you win, wait to confirm and withdraw.  If you lose, broadcast Tx2.

This won't work most of the time, because all things equal, Tx1 will propagate through the network quicker.

To make it work better, include a below standard or no fee in Tx1, and a normal or above average fee in Tx2.  Include a blacklisted address in Tx1 like satoshidice but not Tx2 and broadcast Tx2 directly to a miner that utilizes a blacklist (referring to LukeJr here, though not sure if he still does this).  If the site runs its own node, you could peer with that node, broadcast Tx1, and then utilize some kind of dos attack in combination with the double spend attack to increase your chances.

There's still luck and timing involved, but with the 1% or less edge many casinos are running these days, it could be enough to push a game +EV.

We've been having some trouble with double spend attacks lately. This means that unfortunately some deposits will now require 1 confirmation before they will be credited to your account. When you make a deposit, you may now see a "pending deposit" popup telling you that 1 confirmation is required.

Most normal transactions with a standard miner's fee should still get credited instantly. We are tweaking the system but hopefully we will be able to make all legitimate deposits zero-confirmation again! Smiley
