381  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiBet Bitcoin Casino - Play Roulette, Casino War, Slot Machine on: October 11, 2013, 01:51:50 AM
Just a quick note, I've gotten PM's why the site is down.
The site is experiencing unexpected downtime due to a currently pretty heavy DDoS attack. We are trying to combat it as best as we can and will be back up asap.
Rest assured, all your coins are safe & sound, we've always taken the highest measures to protect your coins while playing at our casino.

Damn, that sucks, just made a deposit Cheesy

We are back online! However it may take from 0-24 hours for some to see it, as we changed DNS. Or you can clear your cache and set your DNS manually to 4.2.2.1

I am working on hiring a PR firm.  Lot of things are going to be happening in the next few weeks and months.

Any news on this?

You don't really need a PR firm to keep your shareholders happy, and they are super expensive anyway. 200% better to hire a committed shareholder in this topic as a "rep", like for example zumzero. Or just do it yourself you know.. I mean, it's not that big of a deal, even for the busiest of busiest people, to take half an hour or so to skim & potentially reply to what the investors are saying.

The boards are being designed in house I think, so they could very well explode too.

The PCIe boards are being designed by our Professional Engineers.

As you know your replies in this topic are highly valued. That said, it's very irritating to see bullshit replies such as this empty statement instead of valuable content.
Please don't post to us like we are a bunch of morons, even if the original post was just as moronic.

He is right Ken. People are sick to the back teeth of poor and valueless communication, after Labcoin etc.

If you think that the person whom you devoted money to believes you are a moron. Why did you invest?

I'm in it since the start. The idea is sound and worth the risk. Communication was much better in the early days tho, still the information to assess the investment on was regardless always pretty limited. What Ken thought of his investors, was/is unknown and thus wasn't a metric for me.

I sold pretty much all my labcoin at the peak, I felt it was overvalued but I never thought it was going to crash & burn like it did, which I feel in retrospect was mainly due to their incompetency. While their (dis)ablities are hard to overcome, I believe transparent and honest management could have steered it at least from collapsing the way it did.
Even though this is completely non-Ken related, it would be so stupid to repeat this obvious mistake for ActM. We have a lot of smart investors that can bring A LOT of valuable knowledge to the table on any topic whatsoever. The coming weeks we are arriving at a turning point, still I have too little information to properly judge its outlook. Imo proper, honest, open communication would be the best wind to sail this thing north long term.

Only site I know of that "took measures" is coincidentally the biggest of them all.
In May Satoshidice closed to US players and blocked US ip's "pro-actively to protect those involved in the project". And shortly after that sold the company to an unknown buyer. It's interesting to note, they are not located and have nothing to do with US yet still felt to take this measure.
389  Economy / Gambling / Re: Silk road is down... Gambling guys next? on: October 07, 2013, 03:37:01 PM
Well, there are tons of online fiat gambling website, I don't see why they are targeting bitcoin gambling site first?

Because they don't have a license and/or are serving US citizens.

I'll just put this here:

http://blockchain.info/tx/1fb6257ca1a61f10a03c742b7000f542776a7ad7c5f81aef98f2a31fa6c0f542

tl;dr - 251.9519 BTC payout from Just-Dice hot wallet to the above mentioned Labcoin wallet used for the IPO.

djeez, that is fucked up.

Now that FBI took down Silk Road, maybe we are their next target?
Bitcoin gambling isn't illegal.

haha I hope not!

You can certainly expect it. Depends on your location.

Actually depends probably more on if US citizens are accepted/able to play on the site, regardless of the location of the site

should someone be trying to physically locate/visit these places which are possible Labcoin connected..?

I will be in Guangzhou on the 23rd of October, and I can also go to Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
Is there anyone willing to meet up and do some investigating?

EDIT.  didn't Samuel Noi say he was going to be in Shenzhen in 10 days..?

I'm willing to meet up with him.

It would be fantastic if someone could at least meet up with Sam for coffee or some such.  Would allay a lot of fears, I imagine.

Being able to see the boards in person would be ideal.

Lol probably close to 0% chance of that happening, I admire your optimism

395  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: September 29, 2013, 09:18:17 PM
what I don't get is that if there won't be any trading soon, and there is no new exchange, how does one retain ownership of the shares?  how do we know there will even be a new exchange at this point?

Labcoin and Swede keep mentioning Bitfunder, but we have yet to see an official announcement from Ukyo or labcoin

yes but say i don't have an account there, or it doesn't get all set up before btct closes....  do we just lose our shares?  do divs continue going to our last known payout address? i am wondering how a share will go from one exchange to the other while remaining mine....  i'm sure nobody will have an answer to that until (if) the official announcement is made.

If Labcoin gets approved and moves to Bitfunder, then yes you might not be eligible for dividends if you choose to not open an account with Bitfunder.
If on the other hand they don't get approved then I imagine they'll operate as a dividend producing private stock. The larger shareholders can operate passthrough shares on exchanges, presuming that there is approval to get them listed.

I for one really hope Ukyo does not accept Labcoin, too much collateral damage potential
