381  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Technobit HEX8A1 - 6/8 chip Coincraft A1 board -999 EUR March delivery on: February 11, 2014, 04:22:40 PM
Is this board also have the "ground reference problem" ?
Dude the ground reference problem is not related to the board itsef so best practice is always to use one psu only or same plug(not recommended)

Ok, gonna power the raspi through the 5V output of the PSU i'll use for the board...

Super! that is a right way to go dude Smiley

In that case you can cut red usb data wire  red one +5v from pi to board itself or to the hub just in case. It is not necessary though Smiley

Well if i can protect my board (and my raspi) from burnin i think i'll do this Wink
I was in a hurry to install my board so i skipped this part but my tp-link and my borad are powered from same psu no external power for tplink First thing i do is to garbage al 5V external power adapters. i am cutting the plug only (Hubs) Grin

My solution is here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=338790.msg4642613#msg4642613

Moral of the story is always use a power protected USB hub!

Good to know, thanks all.
My plan was to directly plug the board to the raspi, but now i'll put a protected hub between them Wink
And i will power both raspi, hub and miner with the same PSU.

I'm just looking for a guide about how to power the raspi with a standard PSU, since raspi power connector is a micro USB...

The Rasbury Pi has long been know to have USB/power issues. Using a TP-Link TL-MR3020 is recommend instead as your 2W mining PC!

382  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Technobit HEX16B(Bitfury based) 16 chip board design on: February 11, 2014, 03:48:55 PM

Hi, did you use same PSU from your PC to powered the miner or another PSU?

Hi Zich,
another one.

Also PC audio in/out is KO
Mistake!
Do not do that ..Take 12V from PC same PSU

Why ?
Is there a reason to use the same PSU ? What can i do if i use a raspi as computer ?

Ground reference problem. If using raspi, then get 5 V supply from same PSU that supply the miner.
You need to do some cut, cut, cut  Cheesy

Just a question, how is this working with a tplink router ?  Do i also have to power both with the same PSU ?
Yes recommended and it working great i have nine of them to one tplink making around 410GH with carefully chosen usb hub same 700W PSU Smiley
power draw per board is only 4.6AMPS at 12V overclocked Wink

Totally appreciate the point, but in every other area of industry and business companies develop the product then bring it to market. I cannot think of another area of tech development where this business model is applied.
Didn't people pre-order Xbox One and PlayStation 4?

The problem is Microsoft and Sony didn't directly get those funds and they didn't use those funds to research the hardware.  In fact, my preorder wasn't even CHARGED until it shipped.

Yeah and I'm regretting that!

No mention of HDCP protection on gameplay and that you would be forced to upload 720p videos to Facebook!

They've really sucked the enjoyment out of getting one first on pre-order because you couldn't make 1080p YouTube videos with it!  Angry
385  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 1THS,1000W, Bitcoin miner coming. on: February 11, 2014, 01:20:19 PM
On what chips will these be based?
Avalon gen 2 i think.
Avalon v.2 draws 1kW for 220GH, no way they do 1TH on 1000W

i would say Coincraft A1 as they perfectly fit the 1W/GH figure

Only working A1 sample out there are Technobits 8x Chips = 250GH for 40A/480W
Maybe they could get this lower with more chips underclocked but looks like 1TH/1920W from what I heard in Turbo mode for 32x 28nm chips.
I've got 2 pre-production models on the way, should have them in hand within a week, and I'll see what underclock they can do.

Theoretical specs are easy, real world delivering them, isn't!  Wink
386  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What better hardware is actually shipping next? (=not as pre-order) on: February 10, 2014, 11:57:00 PM
bitfury also

Yeah heard rumor BitFury 2 by March, sample chips end of February.

No idea what specs but Punin said "Just you wait" in the Friedcat's 40nm/0.35J/GHash thread! Cool It's on like Donkey Kong!
387  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN]ASICMiner Publicly Looking for Potential Customers/Partners for New Chips on: February 10, 2014, 11:41:59 PM
Just you wait Smiley

... perhaps BitFury purchases in non-US work out better.  From miners to miners is a bad tagline based on current pricing.

I heard a rumor Bitfury 2 would be here by March, sample chips end of February. I cannot wait to see what Punin brings to this fight! Cool It's on!

So
All question will be addressed tommorrow
Today We do
PACKING

Whoot! Order status has changed to "shipped"!  Grin

I still don't have a power supply for them though, seems to be a power supply shortage around these parts!

still     "Preparation in progress" Sad

Question?  Do you have a tracking ID for your packet?

This is my 4th and 5th order with Technobit. I've never had a tracking number with any of them. They take about 5-7 days to get from Bulgaria to UK and I have to sign for them.

How is your tplink upgrade gator? Is all good?

Going to leave it for now until stuff arrives. Get a few more days mining in on the Hex16Bs before I risk messing with it. I've got another one on order just in case it goes badly.  Cheesy

Does anyone else have a feeling that Bitmain is actually clearing stocks at a low price on purpose to get rid of S1's before announcing new units with a better chip design?

Yeah feels like they are cleaning out a farm, did you see the rows and rows of them on shelves in the photos?

Source: http://cryptoware.co.uk

If there is an S2 I don't expect them to be selling it, right away, but using it!  Wink

Considering how clean the S1 I got today was, and how "open" the environment is at that farm, it almost seems like it is straight off the assembly line and hasn't been mining at all. Not a speck of dust on it... (?) If I leave anything out in the open in my semi-clean office for two weeks it will get dusty - way more dusty than the 100% clean Ant I just got.

Could it be that Bitmain actually doesn't pre-mine(much)? ... or maybe they just clean them before packing.

Maybe they're just on the shelf for a 24hr burn in test.  Tongue

The coin reward halves every 4 years.
393  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Maximum number of Bitcoins (21million) on: February 10, 2014, 04:52:00 PM
The amount of the Bitcoins that are being generated is very linear. So it should be possible to calculate when we will reach the maximum 21 million BTC to be in circulation.
Did anyone calculate this yet? When will the last Bitcoin be mined?

It's not linear, it's curved. It's 2140 when the last bitcoin can be earned! And each coin has 8 decimal places so there are 2.1 Quadrillion Satoshi currency units!
So this is not linear for you?
https://blockchain.info/charts/total-bitcoins

Your only looking at one year out of 130 zoom out and it should look like a curve.

395  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: QT strange DOUBLE SPEND on: February 10, 2014, 04:33:39 PM
When you double spend a race condition starts.
Each spend has to reference coins that already belong to you and transfer the ownership to someone else.
Whichever transaction wins the race gets the money, the other is rejected because the coin is already recorded as spent.

New image for TL-MR3020 + cgminer 3.12.3 patch 0.2.0 Milestone release

Do I need to reset the TL-MR3020 back to factory settings for it to install?
If so how, do I do that?

Thanks.

Marto are the 30x pre-production units ready to ship on Monday 10th Feb?

I've got 2 in that batch. Hoping no delays this time!

If you put them in the same box you can keep the extra shipping fee for getting them out on time! Cheesy

I guess marto can not do this since paypal will asking for shipping proof for each payment

I paid with BitPay. I'm a true believer in the currency, read my sig! Wink

Also don't forget it's sometimes cheaper to just buy the coins rather than the miner.  Wink

Bitmine coincraft A1 chips is deliverd and working, marto74 (technobit.eu) has built his first Board and customers has confirmed that it works. What i know this is the first 28nm Board that is shipped?

Problem is that the boards are realy expensive ( becus the chips are expensive ) so i think the S1 for 1.45 BTC is still the best choise.

The KnC Jupiter was the first 28nm to ship. KnC are 1 step ahead of everyone else in chip node, working on 20nm currently.

You're right the A1 chip is very close to 2W/GH, like an AntMiner, CoinTerra is pretty bad GH/W too, and Black Arrow also went back to the drawing board for another go stating their 1st effort wasn't efficient enough.

Only KnC, who did it Oct/Nov 2013 and HashFast Jan 2014, made a decent close to 1W/GH 28nm chip.

If you want to make money in this game KnC is the way to go, it's pre-order, but they win on early bird eats more worms principle!

400  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Technobit Hex8A1 Coincraft in hand. on: February 09, 2014, 07:41:30 PM
how much you want for the miner? 1,4btc

First batch (only 30x units) cost €1,500
BTC right now = €511

I don't think anyone will part with one for 1.4BTC = instant loss.

I know you're hinting we could have bought an AntMiner, but AntMiner was 1.95BTC and BTC was €615 when these orders were taken.
Back then it looked the same $/GH, but with better GH/W, but sadly not now, such is the risk of buying on specs.
