I don't get paid anything for my past 500 posts? Otherwise, I think i'd pick this up and leave it in there indefinitely. ( I plan to be active for at least 6 months)

Still that`s neto not bruto, anyway try and find any programmer do work for you for 8$/h, better offer the price to someone in face and face the consequence I didn't say the job is overpaid. I said that because the job earns so much, it should be absolute top priority. Dude I don't even know why you care so much; you didn't even donate. It seems like you have a personal vendetta against mtrlt or something. This is true, I didn't donate a dime. (Partly because I didn't have a dime to donate at the time - I may have donated if I did - and If I did I would have regretted it, Big time) Mr. Mtmrlt just got on my nerves, and I think that there is a possibility he scammed my fellow bitcoiners as well, and so, this is why I created the thread. I thought it needed a discussion place, too. But the single biggest reason I created this thread is because I found it VERY suspicious that: 1. He didn't want people to know how much money he has gotten. Maybe so that other people go ahead and send him more...?? 2. Now that people found out, he closed threads and deleted posts, removing all evidence. He even removed the original BTC donation address, making it difficult for people to see how much money he has received! 3. He called my stating of simple objective facts, completely lacking all and any judgement or negative statements towards him "whining", which I suspect is simply made up nonsense to cover up his past actions. 4. If he was legit, He'd come to this thread and make everything clear to all of us. But he does not. All of this put together... isn't it just flat out suspicious? I'm sorry Mr. Mtmrlt. I supported you at first, but now you have lost my faith.

1. and where do you see they earn BRUTO ~1000$ a month???
2. i am not a programmer but if i was a good one i would expect wage as lawyer not less!
These are well-known minimum-wage jobs. Google it. $8.00 full time (40 hours per week) is $320.00 per week = $1,280.00 per month. Although, assuming minimum wage is 8 dollars an hour is innacurate. It varies by state, and $8 is around the highest you'll find in any state. But the federal minimum wage is 7.5. (I think)

That's true, But with that wage you have quite the responsibility to deliver a product. Anyways. Yeah. That's minimum wage. The wage of every burger-flipper, cash-register person, and waitress you see every day. Will you pls stop bullshit! ffs The bum at the street collect more bottles and earn more in a month there! You are comparing some high tech coding with a minimal wage from someone whos doing nothing!!! List of jobs that pay minimum wage: Certified Nursing Assistant - Self explanatory Child Care Provider Farm Worker - Spreading pesticides to crops, removing weeds, harvesting plants and overall taking care of things that overall are vital to getting you the food you eat every day. Emergency Medical Technician - The people who answer 911 calls Automotive Service Technicians - The people who fix your cars. Income Tax Preparer Recreational Protective Services - Lifeguards, ski patrol personnel and other people who watch over us while people are swimming. Casheirs - The people who make all of your purchases of beer at walmart, burgers at mcdonalds and whatnot quick and easy. Janitors - The people who clean up behind all of your messes at work, restaurants, and stores, as well as the people who clean up your diarrhea that clogged the men's restroom toilet It goes on a lot. I'm not complaining, I'm just pointing out the facts. If you can't handle the truth, deal with it.

I'm expecting him to finish it because he got about 7 months of the average US income in 3 weeks, regardless of whether or not they were "donations".
But that's just my opinion.

I first have to say I'm not familiar with what's going on with the GPU miner.
I'm just curious whether the developer may do a partial/full refund if the project doesn't produce a useful miner.
lol lol, why would he do that? they were DONATIONS, if he couldn't do it that doesnt change the fact that you DONATED money for him to try. There was no guarantee that you will get anything for paying, and if you did get anything, everyone would be getting in shortly thereafter. I chose to wait and see if he lived up to his deadlines. he didnt... many times... if this was the first or second hang up i might have some faith that this is still coming out soon but he goes missing quite often.. His last post stated that he was basically done, 1 or 2 days more work and beta would be out, big surprise that didn't happen. Yep. Because he called them donations. He can keep them by the full extent of the law. This is what the people who gave him nearly ten thousand dollars didn't realize. their money is gone, and they assumed too well of him. There isn't always a happy ending.

GPU mining working yet?
Nobody knows. The only person who is likely capable of making a GPU miner for primecoin Mtmlr has disappeared off of the forums for a week now, without any update. With a lot of BTC in donations People said it wasn't time to bring out the pitchforks yet. Now, a proper week has passed since his last update. Is it time to bring out the pitchforks?

I believe I have spent around $400~ with BitSumo.

Yes. Of course. But this depends what the pay check is for. Hourly wages are not determined by the strength of effort or whatnot. They are determined by their rareness. Surely we all know what gives any given thing it's value. Everyone here must be an economics nerd since it heavily applies to bitcoin. Quantity and total market size determines value. A similar situation applies to the hourly wage of a job. Reason why mr. mtrlt would legitimately earn so much money if not more with such a job is because, very simply, not a lot of other people can do it. Capitalism takes place. Bam. 55 dollars an hour for the job. Or more in the commercial world. Why? Good luck finding someone else to do it for you cheaper. It's normal. Specific programming jobs like the one Mr. Mtrlt would be doing (provided he is not a scammer) are always very high paying. It's not a surprise. Anyways. In the US, going by the federal minimum wage of just over 1000 USD, 75 BTC would be between 5-10 months of work, depending on the hours served. Gross numbers.

That is also a possibility. I knew that it was a bad idea to donate from the start, as situations like these are painfully possible.
|
|
|
Perhaps this could end up in a BFL style situation.
I suspect mtrlt is finding it more challenging than he originally anticipated to construct a GPU miner which offers superior performance.
This is one of the situations I speculated about in my original post. I think that it is likely that mtrlt is not technically scamming, although still providing a very unsatisfactory result with the money he has been given. Reason or intent is unknown.

I remember people having performance problems on machines with a lot of cores. I'm tempted to get a Dual Intel Xeon L5420, that represents 8 dedicated and 16 virtual cores.
Would I have performance problems with this setup ?
I mined primecoin for a while on the L5420. It mines perfectly fine. Was slightly faster than my friend's Sandy Bridge Core i5. It's great considering rack servers with the L5420 cost less than 150 USD total.

If I make a thread that just so happens to get a thousand+ reads, I don't get a promotion?

If this is the case, he certainly should be announcing it to make it clear to everyone, rather than leave us with uncertainty, where all we can do is speculate.

Yeah. The first block was there already last week, the others were added between end of last week and now. I guess that's mtrlt testing, because if this is truly the only blocks mined with his GPU miner, it's nothing. People should stop shouting scammer all the time in these forums. Development is not always straight-forward, and some people have a live as well. Realize that this text can be inserted by absolutely anybody with their own regular CPU miner. This is not sufficient evidence to base any trust on. Furthermore, I have not shouted "scammer". I asked the question, and gave it no answer.Furries
OP = furry = everyone giving him credibility = shoot me. I can help you with that. Reporting facts is called bitching? And bringing pitchforks?
C'mon.
Stop crying.
I expressed no opinions. Simply reported facts. Whether or not it is good or bad - you decide. Only you.
You seem to have an agenda, this is your third thread on this subject. ~BCX~ Or he genuinely believes there is cause for concern. You always assume the worst. Exactly. If Mr. Mtrlt ends up being a scammer, it does not affect me in any way shape or form. I'm not trying to rip any BTC back outa him cause I didn't give him any BTC. I found nobody else making a thread clearing up the information, so I created one, for the better of the community. Seems like people just can't handle the truth, maybe in fear of Mr. Mtrlt actually having scammed people, resulting in a loss of their own profits. Reporting facts is called bitching? And bringing pitchforks?
C'mon.

You seem to have an agenda, this is your third thread on this subject. ~BCX~ List me this mysterious second thread that I have created on this subject. I do have memory loss problems but I'm pretty sure I can remember creating so many other threads about the same thing. The only one I remember was of a related subject, but not of this specific subject.
