I've seen reports that Bitmain is offering refunds to late November customers because they need to extend the delivery dates. Thoughts?

No sh*t where? Have an early Nov unit coming....might bail.
3822  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: October 15, 2017, 04:53:50 PM
I ordered 1 D3 miner to be delivered in November, but now seeing how the profits have dropped to $8.00 a day, HAHAHAHA, I informed Bitmain to just cancel my order and return my money to me.  I hope they can do it.
Here is today's stats

$200.00 a month and $7.00 day.
I am getting the heck out of this scam!

Bitmain states no refunds.  You like many of us are stuck with them.

Not according to Chloe, she said I can get a refund, I would have to wait a few months though:

Dear Fynx,

We told you that we can't change the address from one country to another but you insist to change it and tell us the old address is "Invalid". And then you place a new order with a different exchange rate so there is cost difference you can review all this information when you place the new order. If you do not accept, you should point it out at that moment.

Anyway, if you do not accept the cost difference now, we can refund to you. The refund process needs 2-3 months to finish. thanks for your patience.

Best regards,
Chloe
Bitmain

It reads to me like she is talking about the cost diff of shipping from country to country, not a full refund....anyway, how I read it
3823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: October 15, 2017, 04:44:42 PM
Well 3 out of 4 of mine are now showing shipped with tracking numbers.

Dont know what is the reason behind so early shipment for L3+

I'm not bitching!!!  Cheesy

Imho, due to the week-long holiday the 1st week of Oct in China. The previous batch of L3+ at a higher price, I heard was late.

Thus your batch and my batch probably got lumped in. Not good for the previous order guys. My order also says Oct 21st to 31st and shipped

on Oct 12th.  I have extra Bitmain PSU's here, but,  in that they just say Oct delivery, on the PSU's with this L3+ order, so I'm likely to see them the 31st!

Just an aside, is there any firmware updates for the D3 since they shipped that I should be aware of?

I can' only get 17gh max out of the beast....looking for a way to get that last 0.5gh (heh, greedy)

anyway I don't think there are any ...just double checking
3825  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 15, 2017, 04:24:16 PM
Oh, and this hoard in question is all profit. Mined and paid off equip to ROI. This is the cream off the top!

Even better if you consider the RogerBucks dividend ! Did you cash out as well ?

Nope. My CPA in the USA said it was likely to be a taxable event if I sold any. She said leave it alone for 1 year and 1 day for
20% capital gains tax, here in the states, (rather than 40% if less time) and she 'assumes' the IRS will just see it as a stock split.

I also 'assume' Jihan  Wu of bitmain , (in that he is only taking BCH for all equip now), is gonna screw the segwit2_2mb vow he took,

and there will be a 3 way split core/segwit2+2mb/bitcoin cash

won't that be fun Smiley Thus let if ride, there can only be one! (fork that is) (er suposedly)

3826  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 15, 2017, 03:36:01 PM

Dimon also says it can go to $100K. Now I understand why they say stupid people are happier.

"I could care less what bitcoin trades for, how it trades, why it trades, who trades it. If you're stupid enough to buy it, you'll pay the price for it one day. I've also told people that it can trade at $100,000 before it trades to zero. Tulip bulbs traded for $75,000 or something like that."

I buy bitcoin and yes, I "pay the (going) price for it" ... everytime I buy it no less! Imagine that!
Been doing it every week for past 3 years actually not just "one day"

Yeah...Dimon.....

I have an impressive btc hoard that I've kept at a stable number since 2015. So his advice in 2013 at $150 usd would be sell,
2014 at say $250 sell, 2015 at say $450 sell, 2016 say at $850 sell and now 2016 at current $5,575 per btc ..you guessed it ...he says sell. (sheesh)

Oh, and this hoard in question is all profit. Mined and paid off equip to ROI. This is the cream off the top!

So, yeah, say it all goes tulips as he says, I'm out nothing, money into crypto wise anyway, and man'd up and took a chance on the closest thing to a Venture Capitalist,

Black Swan event (maybe) that will ever come in my everyman boring direction....

So wtf, let it ride...the view of only lose what you can afford applies here in my case, and hodl has been good to me so far, (knock, wood) Smiley

I suspect, if he had my number of bitcoins (chump change for him), he'd be singing a different ton. People asr usually only this angry, when they fear something,

and in his job and with his bank role, the stress it seems is making him crack....

3827  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another Bitcoin fork on 25 October on: October 15, 2017, 03:13:12 PM

Free money. Heh. A GPU fork of bitcoin that is going to a new protocol, not sha-256, what was it? Equiash?

Just a gimmick to jump-start an alt coin...ho hum (nothing to see here folks)

my expectations the price will level down to 12c by the end of the first month
3828  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 15, 2017, 09:26:12 AM
I need your help or advice, bittrex is blocking members account I immediately removed all my funds from bittrex, but what other exchange can I use?

I need some exchange that is not equal to poloniex, bittrex or yobit.

I need a professional exchange, that answer support tickets.
Try Kraken. They run their server on a toaster, but they don't fuck around with people.
What did I miss? What is happening to Bittrex? That is one of my favorite crypto-crypto exchange! Why blocking accounts and for what reason? Are verified account having this problem as well? I don't have my 2FA device with me and therefore I can't access trex right now.
Please share some info.

Let's talk price: my end of year bitcoin price prediction is getting closer. Waiting patiently for it.

Ok, now I get it!
I had a legacy Bittrex account: I could use it for crypto-crypto trades only and my withdrawal limit was huge (more than 500BTC per day). After reading this post I had a feeling they finally implemented the KYC for all and they did it.
My legacy account is considered as new and if I don't fill the Basic verification form I can't do anything else.

Such a bad Sunday news

So I gather you are Batman....and can't get your funds unless you reveal your secret identity ... bummer Sad

3829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: October 15, 2017, 06:58:50 AM
INNOSILICON A5 DashMaster
1.889753 BTC ( or 9999 USD; 171.589 LTC )
30.2GH in 750W normal mode, 38GH in overclock mode
Dec 1st to Dec 15th batch

http://www.innosilicon.com/html/a5-miner/index.html

Hash Rate:   30.2GH/s(+/-8%, in 750w normal mode)
38 GH/s(+/-8%, in 1250w overclock mode)
Power Consumption:   750W ( normal mode, at the wall, with 93% efficiency PSU, 25°C temperature )
Chip Type:   A5 DashMaster ASIC
Dimensions:   Single tube, 400mm(L) x 135mm(W) x 158mm(H)
Weight:   4.8KG
Operating Temperature:   0°C—85°C (device junction temperature)
Network Connection:   Ethernet

Woot!
But that thing will ROI like never.
Realistic price is like $3000 max, by the time it is delivered, it'll do $20 per day, IF.

https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/dash-difficulty.html

ROI never...heh...been there/done that ...likely with the D3's even with a price pump....would suck to be a newbie get one of these then find out you could have gotten
instead of 35gh for your 10k a solid close to 75gh of D3's for more or less the same price...and even then it was "iffy" with the D3's! As to ROI that is.

yeah, way off the mark indeed at 10k price

3830  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 15, 2017, 06:55:47 AM

WEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

$18000!!!!!!!

Edit: damn, only pages

Maybe in spring $18K.  Smiley

But I see comments being deleted, and if you want comments to remain on 18.000, then you need 18.001+.  Cheesy Cheesy

remember for every pump in the price of BTC there will be a massive amount of FUD to drive the price down...right now it is about the 'dangerous fork' and bitcoin is doomed again

not saying the FUD is gonna work...but it will be massive..if moneyed interests and hedge funds really want to get into coin ...they will want to slam the price down to 2.5k

because they missed the boat this last year

thus it will be FUD city with the fork in a month..count on it

my only real concern with the fork is bitmain goes with BCH and out of Seg2k and thus we have core/bch/seg2k all with 33% or so....thus no consensus ..thus another 2 years
of crap and no consensus...if someone gets 51% this is not an issue...but if it goes as above it will suck and the price will tank back down to 3.5k imho

cross your fingers out of my (our) hands just saying...these above will be the counter punches in price up/down for btc

again, hope it is all unicorns and rainbows...but how I see it playing out .....just too much price rise for there not to be 'complications' from moneyed interests that missed out the
last year..they are really, really, going to pull all the stops out to get the train back to 2.5k to buy in ......ie a nice reset is a plan me thinks

but what do I know,

3831  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 13, 2017, 07:20:05 PM
We might be seeing something stricter for bitcoin from few governments worldwide now. $5750 is not a joke any more.

Yep. Watch the FUD hit the fan, if we hit 7k and it sticks. Would be hard for the powers
that be, to wave that away.
3832  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 12, 2017, 09:38:17 PM

😂

You nailed it. Clarifies the price pump this year.    Indeed.
3833  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 12, 2017, 05:11:14 PM
Well then, we hit another selling point for me. Now if only we could have a nice little drop, say 10% or so, that would be nice.

I'll take that 10% drop at $10,000.00 and call us 'square' Smiley

3834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: October 12, 2017, 05:00:38 PM
Just got an email, my October 21-31 batch of L3+ just shipped, a week and a half early. Doesn't matter much though if my APW3++ batch doesn't ship early with them, lol.

SWEET!!!!  Was it a shipped with tracking or just the standard letter they are shipping soon?

Sweet, your batch will arrive just in time for $10 daily income. Tongue

Pardon my black humour.
PS, I just cant understand the logic behind ppl online asking for $3000+ for L3+ machines, like on ebay or anywhere...

Ack! I resemble your remark on batches arriving at 10 buck a day...grrrrrrr..... I have 3 coming Oct 25th to 31st I think it said

yeah silly hairless primate humans ....tossing poo...we have not changed much in 50,00 years...still stepping in sh*t (get me off this planet!)

ah well, at the front end of most of my equip purchases and the a*ss end of others ...(the above 3 units of L3+'s and a D3 at 2.6k and a 2nd D3,  in Nov at 1.4k )

so it goes....the fickle finger of fate and bitmain toasters...writ large.....

Winner: Bitmain
3835  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: October 12, 2017, 02:17:32 PM
Down to $7.00 a day profit, $200 a month. HAHAHAHAHA
Lucky I was not able to order any.
I  dodged a bullet on this one, whew.
https://imgur.com/a/wjF6F

Enjoy mining with the D3

yeah..UGG!

er ..not so much..in my defense...in my case...spend it or lose 50% to the tax man this year and/or the 25% equip deduction on top of that I know I'll take
off taxes I pay this year..thus my risk was 25% of this equipment...so if I get 25% back its a draw......

on the other hand

a newbie chucking out fiat on a D3 will only get the 25% deduction thus his risk/reward is like 75% risk

not sure my situation is any better than the newbie ...but for ego reasons that is how I look at it...at least this year at my current tax rate

3836  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 12, 2017, 02:12:55 PM
Story time:

Back in 2014, my girlfriend was at work and very excited about Bitcoin. She casually mentioned to a female co-worker about Bitcoin, explained what it was, and told her to buy some and hold it for a long time as an investment. The price was around $650/btc USD at the time. My girlfriend said her co-worker friend just smiled back and looked at her with this condescending face:

Needless to say, her co-worker friend never bought any bitcoin.

Yeah.... I have about 15 people in that camp. They all get 'stuck' on the fact of bitcoin being 5k or so....and think it is out of reach for them. I try to explain it like this

say you have some extra $$$ laying about from say an eBay sale....and I told you the odds were pretty good you could get more than 10% return in a year and you

put say $120 bucks into a bitcoin paper wallet...where is the risk? Odds are good you'd do better than a stock or a savings account...

Then their eyes glaze over because I talked about savings/investments and I'm blown off ...even though they asked the question and suggestions

The hard part is every year since 2013 I've repeated the same argument to get some bitcoin in the above manner...just stick your toe in....TO THE SAME 15 PEOPLE OR SO...

...and they still just don't get it ... I guess it just hurts too much to think about it with me saying this since 2013...and they feel the boat has been missed ..to late.

I'm sure at 5k coin I will have the same discussion with folk and family again.....I now understand how folks hoarding gold and silver back in the day and

banging drums about it going up ..from back in my youth felt..way back in the 60's and 70's

anyway, seems the trend...the idea that once a boat is missed it stays missed....

3837  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you abuse on your cost of electricity when you mine? on: October 11, 2017, 11:06:16 AM
I get like 2 or 3c knocked off ....in the winter....in that my electric company thinks I'm depending on electric for major heating method on my house
this is not a low income type break...this is for anyone regardless of income that uses electric to pay for the majority of heating their house in the winter here

kinda true the ASIC's heat the house now I use barely any gas in the winter for heat (boiler heat when I use gas)...so going with it

in that, I heat the house with the ASIC's in the basement and they act like frigging space heaters anyway ..I'll take that bet

I told the elec company it was 'server equip' and they could inspect....the lady just rubber stamped it..did not even fib...

compared to everyone else heating their house with electric baseboard heating I fit right in....

they also have a deal with the gas company to watch for cheating (ie your gas bill is high and your supposed elec heat bill is also high)

but hey, been heating the house in winter for the last 4 years......I think at 16 bucks a month min to pay gas company I'm also 200 bucks ahead in the green on the balance

it just rolls over

anyway, the only angle I have ever seen on electric...that and using 220v on all your equip...120v say like in the USA is not that efficient
3838  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Serious topic: how can we be sure Bitcoin will not be banned by most countries? on: October 11, 2017, 10:57:37 AM
You want to see bitcoin banned by a lot of countries....see its value from the close to 5k it is now to say 50k in 6 months....

banker fud/fea3/etc all hell would break loose politically across the world..the powers that be would be frigging out of their mind with wtf!!!

if that was the case, they could try, but by that point, it probably would be moot....

anyway, a scenario not likely based in reality...
3839  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: October 10, 2017, 10:47:28 AM
For now I trying lottery on dash minin solo nicehash ... I think we need a good X11 coin for mining Smiley

Helium is coming soon

is this payout likely to hit as an option on prohashing or nicehash for that matter? curious...

could maybe point my scrypt-pow and x-11 in that direction on that option
3840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BTG new upcoming coin on: October 10, 2017, 10:45:32 AM
New to mining, will only antminer s9 be able to mine this, would l3+ be able to or no?

Thanks

No, this coin cannot be mined using the antminer ASICs you mentioned because it is ASIC-proof. The whole point of the coin is that it can only be mined using GPUs. The creators seem to think this will make a more decentralized version of bitcoin because everyone including home miners can mine it. The creators however seem to be failing in implementation and marketing. Might be a quick pump and dump get ready.

perhaps i can be mined in a sense if a multipool like prohashing puts in on its payout coin list...but that would be down the road.....the only trick I know for mining obscure coins..with
an asic....you just mine and get paid out in whatever coin.

anyway ...just an aside on how folk could go about this ...again assuming this GPU only coin is listed on prohashing sometime in the future (or other multipools)
