Genre
  • Faites attention aux porte-monnaie en ligne
  • Sauvegardez votre porte-monnaie
pour
  • Be careful with online wallets
  • Backup your wallet

Just curious, do you two really consider me to be the dickwad, here?
i do.
Not that I care, but why?
I don't see what makes him a dickwad
(I didn't go through all the pages though)
3849  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bradley Manning on: June 06, 2013, 05:11:25 PM
We even have whistleblower protection laws to prevent any retaliation from the Feds as a result.

If Manning had stood up like a man and gone through the proper channels, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Hell, I might've even joined with you guys and called him a hero.

If he wanted to be a whistleblower, there are perfectly legal ways to do so (none of which endanger American lives).

Manning had quite a few options, but chose to betray his country out of cowardice.

Let's sum up: there were perfectly legal ways to disclose the acts and he would have been protected so this would have been no drawbacks at all for him to go through the "proper channels"
Yet, he decided ("chose") to pick the riskiest way to do so

So according to you, deliberately choosing the riskiest way makes him a coward
Makes sense

Attention, l'ARJEL a déjà commencé à sanctionner:

Bitcoin is open source. The information you have posted is in a free and open domain. I am open to do anything I please with it Smiley
And also that's where your wrong - the name and logo are owned by me - my intellectual property.

Add that on top of your extortion and threats = jail time.

Please release your coin, it will only put he nail in the coffin.

And believe, me, I am following through with this no matter what.

Yeah, you should really apply for a patent for this.  Real original, modifying the coin-script parameters...the patent office will def have your back.

3853  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to timestamp documents without burning money on: June 06, 2013, 10:49:31 AM
Have you also thought about using namecoin for timestamping?  I believe that's better suited than bitcoin.  Bitcoin is for payments, and every "other" use is in my opinion unnecessary spam/bloat.  Namecoin on the other hand is precisely designed for storing arbitrary values.  Register a name, and every time you want to stamp something, name_update its value to your hash.  This costs a tiny amount of NMC in transaction fees, but not much.

Well, just my suggestion - this is what I will do in the future. Wink

Its true that Bitcoin is not designed for this purpose, however if I wanted to timestamp or hash a time sensitive piece of data I would always use Bitcoin. The main reason is that at the moment the Bitcoin blockchain is the most secure timestamp system on earth and the ability for a bad actor to take over the network and modify or invalidate the data is much more difficult.

Because so many people have an economic incentive to keep the Bitcoin network running correctly my timestamp is much more immortalized than if that timestamp or hash was in the namecoin chain. Its more likely that the namecoin chain will be attacked and destroyed vs Bitcoin.
So you don't want to use Namecoin because not enough people use it?
Also, if Namecoin has some block checkpoints then it's truely secure (I don't know if it's the case)

No because we can't reverse time and go back and encode (load into the model) the infinite entropy from the past and because due the Heisenberg (uncertainty) principle reality is a moving target that has changed as soon as any entity does anything including observe it.
Imagine a lot of artificial brains working

Check out gitian and build your own binaries.

But how would I confirm that the official binary is compiled from the source on Github? Little point in running my own binary if 95% of all the nodes are from the official website and have a backdoor.
Build with same versions of g++ and qmake, same architecture, same dependency (if any, I don't know) and compare
Maybe I forget something to check
