Yeah but slow and steady wins the race, I would rather we consolidate for a little bit after each jump than get too bubbly too fast...this could be the longest bull run of all time  Cool Cool

Exactly. We need a slow build this time. We've got some good momentum going, but to your point, no hurry to get there.

In this for the long-haul.

That last run-up to $5k was irrational.

This run up to 5K may also be irrational with the segwit2 fork and other FUD to be tossed soon....so I'm assuming it will get to 5k ...people will break under that pressure and sell....like
the last time it was 5K and with the FUD on the forking and other spam ...we will slip back to 3.5k again and then repeat up to 5k ..hopefully as you say...more steady and sure

anyway, hope I'm wrong but how I see it playing out now

According to there Facebook page they have moved shipping forward to October 30th for the first batch so good news for anyone who bought one, see there most recent post: https://www.facebook.com/hyperbitshop/

They give any clue on the batch size..curious....from my guesses ..you can add this batch to the other 4 batches by bitmain in the wind (5 if they launch a batch this week)
at around 10k plus a batch..

my newbie dreams of mining in 2013 are repeating...betting on a price pump on scrypt pow to get me out this hole on scrypt pow miners (or at least keep it going)

I hate regressing to 2013 and newbie coin pump dreams to get me out of equipment jams....You'd think I'd moved past that..alas ...not so Sad

3844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: POLL Is Craig Wright Satoshi Nakamoto? on: October 08, 2017, 07:25:34 PM
In my opinion most likely not. The evidence just isn't there.

I also agree. Odds are long. But then again Donald Trump is President of the USA. So hell
anything is possible. 🙈
3845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to earn Bitcoin without investment on: October 08, 2017, 07:15:51 AM
Well, my 'old school' way from 2013 onward to earn BTC w/o investment ....is convoluted..in the sense I had to buy the right equipment for mining at the right time.

Thus, I mined my way out. I got MORE BTC out of the mining then I put into the equipment. Thus once the equip was paid off and of course HODL from 2013 till now,

I have NO $$$ into crypto ...but what I mined after paying the equip off and of course HODL!

Thus, whatever BTC you have after the above..is CLEAR AND FREE of any debt. Whereas, if you invested in BTC at 150 usd, and it goes to 5,000 usd, you will
always have 150 bucks INVESTED on that return.

Anyway, in my mind, it does not work that way with BUYING crypto and taking that off your profits...as a way out of the hole of debt to get started accumulating coin, but that is likely just me justifying mining and a hobby and justifying, buying miner toys Smiley

But, mentally, and to get an accumulation of some real numbers in crypto or BTC this is the only 'mind game' you can play, imho to make the OP's point on this thread.

Otherwise, if buying cypto, you always will have a fixed cost of what you paid. With mining coin, you have a fixed cost after the equip ROI's or in my view 'mines its way
out of debt"

again, I'm odd but how I look at my hoard now Smiley

3846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: October 08, 2017, 06:58:42 AM
I use www.litecoinpool.org/calc as my 'low' baseline on what my miners are making. I do get say 10-15% more on prohashing. But as a
rule of thumb and watching the trend of difficulty go up and profits go down it serves its purpose.

As of today, 10/08/17 at 1:38am CST USA...I have the following

At 12c kWh prices for electric and a price currently of $52.69, (https://www.worldcoinindex.com/),  at this moment, I get the following profits.

KNC Titan $4.62 per day.

Below $4.61 per day in LTC profits. Below is for a 300mh KNC Titan (4 cube) at 1,250 watts.

                        Expected Rewards          Electric      Profit
24 hours   0.15583008 LTC   8.21 USD   3.60 USD   4.61 USD
7 days   1.09081055 LTC   57.47 USD   25.20 USD   32.27 USD
30 days   4.67490234 LTC   246.32 USD   108.00 USD   138.32 USD

Bitmain L3 is $5.69 per day.

Below $5.69 per day in LTC profits. Below is for a Bitmain L3 250mh at 400 watts.

                        Expected Rewards          Electric      Profit
24 hours   0.12985840 LTC   6.84 USD   1.15 USD   5.69 USD
7 days   0.90900879 LTC   47.90 USD   8.06 USD   39.83 USD
30 days   3.89575195 LTC   205.27 USD   34.56 USD   170.71 USD

Bitmain L3+ is $11.38 per day.

Below $11.38 per day in LTC profits. Below is for a Bitmain L3+ 500mh at 800 watts.

                        Expected Rewards          Electric      Profit
24 hours   0.25971680 LTC   13.68 USD   2.30 USD   11.38 USD
7 days   1.81801758 LTC   95.79 USD   16.13 USD   79.66 USD
30 days   7.79150391 LTC   410.53 USD   69.12 USD   341.41 USD

Again consolidated below, AGAIN, this date/time/etc (See beginning of this post)

KNC Titan $4.62 per day.

Bitmain L3 is $5.69 per day.

Bitmain L3+ is $11.38 per day.

So to recap...without some MAJOR price moves on LTC or scrypt pow (again the calcs used here are LTC only ..you will make more on multipool like prohashing)
we are gonna get messed up bad on this looming difficulty wave yet..and plow the surfboard into the beach.

So, will the price rise on pow-scrypt to compensate for difficulty or will our scrypt-pow miners of any flavor be doorstops below such a difficulty plateau
just out of reach for us to continue to run them say by Jan or Feb?

I hate my return to 2013 and 'newbie hopes' of the price rising to justify equipment..it is sooooooooo a fall back into those bad habits..but at this point
thems the breaks..price pump or equipment dump to doorstops on the horizon.

Again, note that the litecoinpool calculator is simply being used as the 'low' on what we can get. You will get more on multi-pools like prohashing.
But the above shows the 'bottom' on price per day imho.

Also, as far as I can tell there are still at least FOUR major dumps of Bitmain L3+ equipment and ONE major dump of the bw.com equipment that also dumps
in middle of November. So I would expect that at the present sideways price spread of LTC you would be looking at 1/2 of the profits I post here by say Dec 2017,
when all the pow-scrypt equip clears. More if Bitmain shoots even more out like toasters.

Thus my posting of the above this time/this date/etc....

We will be the first to know I guess.....(shudder)

later

3847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: October 05, 2017, 02:51:29 PM
Hello,

Does anybody know which wallets plan to support the Bitcoin Gold (BTG) friendly fork on October 1st? And what, if anything, should be done by the user?

Just follow this https://twitter.com/btcgpu you will get your answer. The Fork will be held on 25th October and Bitcoin holder will receive BitcoinGold in first November. Hold BTC on 10.25 get free BTG on 11.1. I am confusing about where can I keep my Bitcoin for the fork?

Well supposedly my bitcoin CASH is still on my orig bitcoin chain (bitcoin core) as I did not go thru the process of moving it off since the snapshot...thus if you leave the wallet alone

(stall) you can probably get by. Myself, I don't want to convert the snapshot on any fork to crypto in that would be, imho, a 'taxable event' for the IRS at the snapshot date. I'm hoping

if I just frigging leave it alone, the IRS will treat it like a stock split you sell it you pay 20% capital gains after a year and a day etc (2013 IRS guidelines on cryptocurrency)

Just because people are forking and tossing supposed $$$ at my blockchain (the bitcoin cash snapshot is 280 bucks I think) does not mean I have to move it yet.

or so I assume....for now

Bitcoin Gold? What the heck is that? I've never heard of it before. Btw, on marketcoincap, BTG is assigned to Bitgem.

Is there a way to mine BTG ? Is there a special wallet on Windows?

From what I've read, they are going to change the Algo to Equihash, which is supposedly friendly to GPU and even CPU mining.  But you won't be able to mine it until after the fork.

OK...let me get this straight..say you have 100 btc you get 100 bitcoin gold on the fork....BUT they are going to mine with GPU from then on, using the equihash protocol...

thus after a week or so ..the GPU stuff will blow past the fork of 100 btc to bitcoin gold..thus making this fork you got for you 100 btc simply dust? ie blown past with more made gpu coins

thus diluting your stake big time?

I mean really, GPU mining, equihash, dubious fork...what is the price gonna be for a bitcoin gold coin....at the start....? say 1 bucks ...so you have 100 bucks to start off

and as said above, the GPU's kick in and flood the market making the price more like 10c a coin? Again, making your supposed 100 btc airdrop essentially worthless quickly?

correct me if I am wrong...but if the above is anywhere near true...I'm wasting my time even watching this thread or doing this post Sad

Will be no fork on the 1st October. It's going to be on 25th October or 15th November. I don't know the list of wallets which are going to support new coin, but I suppose it's gonna be the same which supported Bitcoin Cash on the 1st August.

Is this supposed fork going to have a 'snapshot' on Oct 25th? or is the previous post above true and  it has to sit in a 'wallet' quote a few messages up correct....

If it is a 'snapshot' I will still think bitcoin gold is silly as f*ck... but I'll get more than dust out of it in paper worth...so meh.....whatever....
3853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: October 04, 2017, 12:59:19 PM
As far as i know you can get free Bitcoin gold if you have bitcoin
on the Exodus Wallet  before october 25.
In my opinion it is another fork like bitcoin cash and everyone will earn some free money nothing more than that.

wtf is the exodus wallet? So they are gonna fork to BTC gold...but only if you have all you btc on a wallet I never heard of?

yeah ....that is not a true fork...that is a gimmick Smiley

3856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: October 03, 2017, 08:34:04 AM
If this continues dash should change its mining rewards. ~40 % block rewards go to miners, that's not enough and with a block halving in two years or so I'd hate to think what profits will be then unless dash skyrockets. Dash devs and master nodes get paid too well..

that won't change the dev of dashcoin likely holds half the coins and i heard he has half the nodes....they won't change imho.

(should probably research this ..what I was told anyway about dash)

3857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: October 03, 2017, 01:26:09 AM
I got my antminer l3+ today Smiley gonna set it up soon can't wait.. although the revenue has gone down a lot since I bought it I'm going to wait a good amount of time to get my 40 ltc back that I paid for it Smiley

At least with the L3+ there are enough scrypt coins to spread the hashrate out.  The d3's there isn't a lot of choices to mine with.

Yea that's true, do you suggest using nicehash or something with the L3? Or something else like manually switching through different coins?

Nicehash was the best for me so far.

Ok thanks, I just set it up on there and I'm getting around 19$/day seems to be working pretty good and with bitcoin price steadily increasing I think if I hold and don't sell it will be worth it in a few months Smiley

What are all of our uneducated guesses as to what the litecoin difficulty will be 30 days from now? If they generate anywhere near $19/day 30 days from now when my batch of L3+'s arrive in October I will be a very happy man, lol.

Well, unless the 'newbie dreams' come to pass and the price of LTC pumps. (I hate regressing and relying on newbie dreams. But with bitmain putting them out like toasters, the only shot)

Anyway, if the price is more or less the same for LTC in 30 days you'd be lucky to get $9 vs $19 you claim per day now. I mean really lucky. There is that much bitmain 'toasters' hitting the world.

All pray to the ASIC gods for a price pump on pow-scrypt, or we are beyond screwed.

Has anyone had any luck solo mining other coins with the l3+. If so how did you set it up?

Just go to www.prohashing.com a multipool...mine with your scrypt-pow, and or x11 (what I do) and just get paid out in whatever you want

dash/ltc/btc/etc at the present time all my equip is being paid out in LTC ...even the x11 miners...

easy peasy...better odds imho

The trick is to pick the right coin to get on the payout for your supposed pile of coins....and/or for hoarding purposes or whatever

picking that is the trick ....works the same as solo mining 1 particular coin w/o the hassle with diff flavor's of asic equip too boot
3860  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 30, 2017, 08:07:41 AM
The boatman on the river Styx now accepts Bitcoin. Cool

you know why? someone told this guy that there is an investment out there which existed for approximately 2500 days. investors who invested on 2474 of those days made a profit. only 26 days where the price was higher than today.  Smiley

Ack! That's cold! ....
