Well....what I will get when my D3 goes up (today or tomorrow)

https://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/dash-mining-calculator/?h=17500.00&p=1000&pc=0.12&pf=0.00&d=4566805.05137939&r=1.80147602&er=0.08719137&btcer=4013.01410000&hc=0.00

At 17.5gh and 1000 watts I think I was told and 12c kwh I get

$45.71 after electric

down a bit since the $120 a day the OP posted at the start of this thread .......

bitmain toasters

lol the toaster references get me every time from you xD

The noisiest toaster that you will ever own. Toaster will actually have more hash and a better return by November. Your girlfriend/wife/partner know what a toaster does too, and can watch TV in the same room.  Grin

Really? My 2nd batch D3 for $1,450 arriving the 1st 1/2 of November will have, as you put it, " will actually have more hash and a better return by November" (quote)Huh

Tell me more old wise future teller sage, that you are.....is this due to x11 coins going up in price?, difficulty leveling off, (even that cracks me up), bitmain adding other
protocols like x13,x15, etc....the Helium x11 coin coming out?

Or are you just jerking my chain..in my dire straights of being in Bitmain's evil clutches...ie ...spent too long at the ASIC gambling table and these last 2 D3's are a hit
and a miss and maybe, just maybe the L3+s coming October 15th are as well....

lead us to the promised land.......(we are desperate we will follow.....the tempting ways of bitmain have come home to roost...alas)

So the D3 is based on 16nm tech, correct?

I suspect that the D3 might be 28nm given it's relatively LOW efficiency compared to some of the competition.

I'm 100% certain that Bitmain prefers the CERTAINTY of "cash in hand, can turn it around into another batch of chips to sell MORE miners" as opposed to the longer time of return and MAJOR uncertainly of mining with the machines.

The people that got rich out of the California Gold Rush were mostly SUPPLIERS to the miners - Levi Strauss being the most famed....

Very, very, good point. Crypto could crash tomorrow most of us would be fucked and they'd be relatively fine lol

I have been doing mining since 2012.  I am fully paid off for gear and  ahead.  I did not achieve this status until this year.

I have about 20k in paid off gear

zero debt.
some cash.
some coins.

The big bull run in gpu mining did the trick for me this year.

Ditto. KNC liquidation sale 2016 and now this year due to luck getting bitmain’s pow scrypt
at under 9 buck ltc

Yeah, that is gonna work well if you are parked in BULGARIA ...I mean really?

they may find out stuff long after the scammers have gone to ground...

but hey, it makes the USA public 'feel good' about our 'evil, dirty, sexy crypto" (did I mention the 'public' is conflicted...)

whatever........

Holy crap that difficulty rise - https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/dash-difficulty.html

I mean the boys and girls who got the first patch have probably paid the miners off already, but gotta feel a bit sad for the rest

unsure..I did the calcs below just now but not looking good for my 2nd D3 dubious order in November!

I have a D3 going up on Tuesday 9/26/18 ...yeah rather dubious/dumb but it was take a chance on some equipment of give 50% to the Taxman. (One does not go from 4.15 LTC to 50 LTC w/o consequences)

So anyway I get below with the calc today 9/24/16

This is with the original specs of 15gh and 1,200 watts. (Supposedly, some? all? are getting 17gh with less watts?)

Anyway it comes out to at above specs: At 12c kwh $52.29 per day, $366.04 a week and $1,568.73 a month....

https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/dash?HashingPower=15&HashingUnit=GH%2Fs&PowerConsumption=1200&CostPerkWh=0.12

I've no clue how fast (or not) this profit a day will dump. But what I'm seeing so far.

I have one more D3 November batch coming......so we will see.....

(crypto: silly hobby) Smiley

p.s. can anyone clarify if the 1.5 batch to 2nd batch I think my D3 going up tuesday is ...really is 17gh likely?

I'm 90% certain your D3 will be 17.5 gh/s
https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/dash?HashingPower=17&HashingUnit=GH%2Fs&PowerConsumption=1000&CostPerkWh=0.11

Mine avg about 17.5 but I like to simply say 17 gh/s they're also consuming about 1k watts

thanks....good to know ...a small bit of good news...

(at least when difficulty shoots the bow off my  D3 ship...I can go full speed ahead, screws turning and drive it under the waves at 17.5gh speed vs 15gh) Smiley

edit:

by the way, I gather this calculator below sucks...in that it says double what you said you got in the above post (unless stuff has changed drastically today)

https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/dash?HashingPower=17.5&HashingUnit=GH%2Fs&PowerConsumption=1000&CostPerkWh=0.12

what do you use for a calculator again...(hopefully I'm wrong and the above is correct for this day and time...but I'm not betting on it) Sad

But I just got some Bitmain's yesterday. This at a $1,650 usd price paid in LTC. (thru mostly luck 2 hr notice at 2am for a 4am USA sale ..and according to the thread they
One month passed and BM increased price to $2280/  What a shame!  Undecided

it has to be 'newbies' I hope enough to not just overbuy equipment but hold the coin to drive the price up

gonna take a lot of newbies to make crypto prices go up to what the miners expect for ROI

but hey ...seems there is adoption...maybe 'foolish' adoption by newbies on dubious equipment

but has to be more than a few folk...I can't see the old hands causing this sell-off of bitmain equip yesterday at $2,280.00

anyway, more confused than the previous post quoted now above

(tosses up hands....kicks can, wanders off down the street mumbling about greedy ASIC makers, insane prices, and clueless newbies.....argh)

later
3888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BW.com L21 - Litecoin (scrypt) ASIC miner - unofficial speculation thread on: September 26, 2017, 04:19:41 AM
HyperBit will launch their website and shop soon, stay tuned at their Facebook page.
Nearly same hash as L3, they need much lower price to be compatible.

On the other hand....Bitmain sold out of L3+'s again (2 hr notice was 4am CST USA) at $2,280 usd last nite it was

so consider me befuddled at those prices selling out units and there are at least now 4 more batches out in the world

just from bitmain that I can figure.....so say another 40k to 80k of units in the wind now...

thus we need a pretty good price pump (at least 1/3 imho) or this will turn to muck by the end

of the year ...earnings wise that is

anyway....I've not a clue on why people are buying these at these prices...

on a positive note..adoption of crypto has to be driving this..it has to be newbies thinking the price of crypto will rise

at least if that is true...adoption is way, way up....I can't see any of us in this for a bit looking at difficulty rushing off and

getting any asic equip of any flavor for the price the Mfg's are charging now

not to mention they keep selling out

so hell..perhaps the newbies buying this stuff will act as cheerleaders and drive the price of crypto up

but it is gonna take a lot more than I expect (color me cynical)

whatever....am reverting back to utterly confused mode...I've not a clue

new batch in 65 min l3+ bitmain

sigh.......I mean really?

I'm not getting any.....but will likely watch the train wreck (or as I refer to it their pricing) Sad

this is it, the KILLER for all COINS is the EVIL BASTARD CORP = BITMAIN.

hope they die slow, painful death. Serve em good

Come on GMO, just use 10nm to fabricate..

Avoiding this one too. 2280 pretty expensive considering difficulty and ROI.

yeah...I mean really, $2,280.00? They are not even trying to be competitive anymore...

on the other hand, bw.com has a reseller now on their web page and they are going to announce a price today of
(so I was told) $2,500 plus...thus maybe bitcoin figures they have it all sewn up....you play with them or don't play at all....

kinda a let them eat cake.....viewpoint among all the asic makers...of any flavor

anyway below is how bitmain sees the world.....and how to move their product.......toasters of doom!

Maybe this is a question unknown as yet...

But I've seen folk say they ordered (my 2nd batch unit goes up on tuesday) that they are not getting the original 15gh unit specs
but the 17gh unit specs at less watts

any clarification? or is it catch all catch can and unknown?

thanks

bitmain miscalculated or they didn't want to overspeculate, so it's 17 and less voltage

whoo, hooo, (then again 15gh vs 17gh mining "air' as the difficulty rises...may, in the long run, make little difference with x11 difficulty playing moon shot) Sad

we need a price pump for DASH and/or the rest of the x11 coins or we are screwed me thinks (oh well, it was a couple of these or the tax man gets the $$$)

3893  Economy / Speculation / Re: Amazon to accept Bitcoin as early as this October? on: September 25, 2017, 06:57:32 AM
In my view, it is NOT going to happen in November.

This is due to being a real cluster to do so...... JUST ahead of the Xmas season would be complicated for Amazon.

However, if the rumor would have said spring...I may have bought in on the rumor.

So I think, unfortunately, is it only rumor and nothing else.

I don't get it. Why everybody complains on D3 being not profitable ? If you compare it to L3+ and S9, it is more profitable now, but will be about the same by the time november batch hits.

Maybe you get a ROI of 6-9 months. That is still awesome.

You can mine it for an year perhaps.

7nm is not coming anytime soon to asics.

Bitmain might release a D3+ with, say, 20GH but at that point your D3 will have paid for itself and you'll just profit less.

If you're lucky, dash will appreciate and btc will hit 5000+ in the mean time.

I don't get it. Why everybody is crying?!?

Difficulty..my man ...difficulty....that with bitmain putting them out every couple of weeks in 20k batches...you do the math..(assuming your x11 coin of choice goes sideways and/or drops in price)

We are all betting on a pump in x11 price, we can pretty much count on bitmain putting them out like toasters...and so for this turkey to fly...we have to have a price rise
to counteract bitmain's toaster policy...of out the door soonest.......or it is penguin city as we try to fly .plop we land with a crash ..and we slide off the glacier into the sea..full of sea lions (shudder)....

THIS IS IF  difficulty outstrips price of x11 coins....to the point where it costs more electric to mine than you get in crypto.....it won't matter if the price of crypto goes up on x11 coins 2-3 months after that...will be too late..

point.....you will have shot your wad and been unable to mine....
3897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: September 24, 2017, 09:51:42 AM
I am in the 2nd batch or 3rd 15th october etc.

Just getting some opinions, you think best to sell straight away guys??

I've got 1 unit in middle of Oct too (I think it is then)... so with all the difficulty FUD (if true) 12 month ROI would be heaven  sent at this rate of D3's etc hitting the world

No clue. Should probably sell. But badly need the equip deduction.

I do know however that difficulty has to be going up a lot less and x11 coin prices (dash) have to go up by at least 1/3 of what it is now
or it is an unwinnable game and we have bitmain doorstops before xmas....(this is just plain silly) Sad

Thanks for the advice, I read somewhere bitmain can release a firmware update to enable x13 / x15 coins? if this is true will it completely change the ROI times?

Well, at the point of time miners would actually use such x13,x15 or whatever it would be more of a 'pacifier' in the sense that .....would be something to mine
with at end of life of the unit as a speculation to get a mess of these protocol coins for the heck of it and two ...someone ..could make a  protocol of something
for new coins ..that could take off as well...also  a hedge to hold..if/when x11 coins start to fade

not a big deal, but would be nice...this is exactly what I should be doing with my x11 baikal 300mh cube...finding a protocol of something besides an x11 coin
that is gonna pump and take a flyer on it working out...long odds...but better odds then my other goal to be natalie portman's love puppet....

so like the guy below says ...that applies to the above

again...would be a 'cute' option to have..but again..most would use it at end of life on speculative coins other than x11 when that time comes imho

They do. People are fantasizing here, on the /bitcoin subreddit and even in news publications about 1,000,000$ /BTC prices.
How is that not a silly exageration?

Now imagine Bitcoin is the new global currency. How many USD are there in paper + "virtual"? 5 trillion? Maybe even more?

We all know that Bitcoin supply is limited to 21 million. Now the $1m/BTC forecast doesn't seem so crazy anymore?

You are not taking in the 300 to 400 forks (like bitcoin cash) that would come into play (evil hairless primates that we are all..you can bet on it) at those sky high prices

what a cluster and wow what FUD if Bitcoin went to 10k by the 1st of the year...bankers running in the street tearing hair out ..would be a hoot....

Meanwhile...btc seems to want to go sideways and slink for a bit..price wise that is.....(people being mean to btc now .....sad)...

(bicoin, you mesmerizing wench...playing hard to get are you?)....
