Nisam gledao ali vidim da je izašla i nova serija The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, i počela je treća sezona sci-fi serije See sa Jason Momoa.
3903  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Skins for hardware wallets on: September 04, 2022, 09:11:44 PM
On the Trezor? The Trezor One has a texturized body which makes it very rugged against scratches, in my opinion.
Foil is on Trezor display.
I don't really care much about cheap plastic case, because they released .STL files as open source and I can always 3d print it in any color/material I want.
One information I found recently is that Trezor made metallic case model and gave them to all their workers few years ago, and they sold some as anniversary edition.

I have high hopes for Passport batch 2 (still not arrived yet.. *sigh*) with glass screen!
Waiting for Godot  Roll Eyes
This preorder thing was total delay disaster for Passport and I don't think they should do that again in future, even if it's probably not directly their fault, but still...
I hope you receive and test it before man-made global economic collapse  Grin
3904  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Square is considering making a hardware wallet for Bitcoin on: September 04, 2022, 09:00:42 PM
That's all well and good, but their idea of having a 2-out-of-3 multisig that can be restored through their servers after losing 2 user keys is privacy-infringing at best and insecure & unreliable / not resilient at worst.
This is not their own invention by any means, I think that Blockstream (and maybe some other manufacturer) is using very similar strategy with their Jade hardware wallet for years.
I have nothing against people who want to use this babysitter approach, but make it optional and give people a choice to not use it if they want to take the risk.
Problem with this approach is that it could happen something similar like with iPhones, they remove chargers from box and next year everyone removes charger from packaging.
In scenario with Block hardware wallet taking big market share, other brands (like ledger) could easily follow to make similar change.
3905  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: TAPSIGNER, SATSCARD & SATSCHIP on: September 04, 2022, 08:48:48 PM
What's most misleading / confusing is the naming of your 'SATSCHIP' (NFT stuff) device - as there is 'Satochip' which is Tibu's plain hardware wallet (analogous to your TAPSIGNER).
It's absolutely confusing, most people probably don't know the difference between this cards and they look all the same to them, even without naming confusion.
We are here in forum talking actively about hardware wallets or cards, and I still feel like I need special manual or tutorial to see the difference between all this cards.

How do these differ from existing products?
I would love to hear what license they have...
Still didn't get any answer from NVK... he is only contacting me when he needs update or correction in one of my HW topics  Wink
3906  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware wallet FUD (nonce attacks, unofficial firmware, etc) on: September 04, 2022, 08:38:12 PM
Can this also be used for all other QR codes?
I know for sure that Safepal hardware wallet has closed source this, so you can't verify anything coming from their QR code, and all other stuff they have is closed source.
I am not sure how this works for Passport hardware wallet, but they have almost everything open source like design and firmware, but you need to verify with them how QR codes work.
For DIY signing device SeedSigner QR code is simply a string of numbers representing each word on the BIP39 wordlist, and Krux signing device supports it:
https://github.com/SeedSigner/seedsigner/blob/main/tools/seed_phrase_to_qr.py

All in all, their recommendation was to make your own VPN using something like WireGuard or OpenVPN. Something similar like a DIY hardware wallet would work too, provided that it's made easy for people to assemble pieces of hardware and firmware together.
It's easy to make DIY hardware signing devices with raspberry pi zero, or with cheap M5StickV or Maix Amigo devices.
Nothing would connect you with Bitcoin and maybe you could purchase them in your local electronic shop.
3907  Other / Meta / Re: [Script] BitcoinTalk User Notes on: September 03, 2022, 07:53:15 PM
Here's the answer: BitcoinTalk user notes isn't exactly the extension. Tampermonkey is. In order for TryNinja's add-on to detect bitcointalk.org, Tampermonkey has to run on every page. At least, that's how they justify it at their FAQ
There is easy solution for this in Chromium based browsers (Chrome, Brave, etc).
Right click on Tampermonkey icon and select Manage extension.
Than look for settings names Site access, and select On specific sites - than just add bitcointalk.org website.

Sadly, for Firefox browser this option is not available for Tampermonkey extension, but maybe there are some other method I am not aware off.
Maybe this can be somehow tweaked and modified inside Tampermonkey advanced settings.
3908  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: I found a paper wallet on a beach ... seriously on: September 03, 2022, 07:39:38 PM
I just don't think this is worth the attention compared to other risks.
How do we know all the risks of this scam, when we don't even know the full story yet?
Scammers could actually create new website with that domain and lure people do send them bitcoin (in fake exchange), to be eligible for withdrawing fake 0.6 BTC.
I said before that similar tactics was used in fake discord giveaways in last few years.
3909  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Password encryption into private key possible? on: September 03, 2022, 07:34:30 PM
Is there ever any crypto project that allows user passwords to be encrypted into its private key? I've never heard of such I am just curious and thinking about a possibility.
What exactly is user passwords?
If you are talking about password login details for websites, than this is possible with some hardware wallets but if you lose that wallet or it gets broken, you will lose access to your websites.
You can even use Fido 2FA with Trezor and ledger hardware wallets, but again if you lose wallet you lose access, so it's better to have backup device.
For password managers I would suggest using something like opensource KeePass software, instead of using hardware wallets.
If you want you can generate 12 seed words offline and use them as password for KeePass.

I've heard of using hardware wallets before: https://trezor.io/passwords/
I never tried it because you must install their extension to use it, and it only works for Chrome browser I think  Tongue
3910  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: I found a paper wallet on a beach ... seriously on: September 03, 2022, 07:13:46 PM
I don't think they search fingerprints for littering, nor for a scam attempt without a known victim.
easternklaas could be a potential victim of scam attempt, and other people as well.
What are the chances that he finds the same wallet two times, and other people to report exact same thing on reddit?
If they don't take fingerprint evidence, at least they can warn people someone is trying to scam them like this with fake bitcoin wallets.
3911  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: I found a paper wallet on a beach ... seriously on: September 03, 2022, 06:59:07 PM
I am now pretty certain that it's a scam.
Can you remember by any chance who was the first guy in this topic to say this fake paper wallet is a scam?  Smiley

So you won't believe it,.. I was walking my dog yesterday,. I came across another paper wallet! This time I took a photo after I pulled it from the seagrass. What are the chances? Have I come across some secret BTC honey hole? What if this one has more than 0.6BTC in it?
I would suggest that you take this fake paper wallet to your local police station in Australia, so they can take fingerprints and see who is really planting this ''seeds'' in your area.
He made a bunch of them, and there is no chance someone is doing this by chance, this is most likely deliberate scam attempt.

Rewind about 2wks,.. I did some basic research on the .com site printed on the wallet and noticed it was only a new website and that it has been given a 99.6% chance of it being a phishing website and extremely unlikely to be authentic.
Can you please share the full domain name of that .com website?
EDIT: Never mind, I found it.

BTW, what's the purpose of the metal paper clip. Leaving rusty marks?
He probably printed bunch of same copies and used paper clip to hold them together.
I can't find any records of that .com domain, so he probably invented something that doesn't exist to make it look more legit.

This is how they look when they are freshly printed and planted, no water or rust yet:

3912  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Skins for hardware wallets on: September 03, 2022, 06:55:33 PM
Normally, my answer is "NO [I prefer to keep a low profile]", but considering that I can easily apply them to my hardware wallet, I might try such things for a change, but I'll send it to a P.O. box of some kind [having said that, I'll probably just buy a printer to create my own unique vinyl decals].
I don't care very much about case skins, but I would consider purchasing screen protection that can change text(screen color and protect screen from scratches.
Many people reported scratches happening very easy for Bitbox02 and for first version of Passport hardware wallets.
I know some people still keep original foil on their Trezor wallets  Cheesy

These offerings might be more useful and sought for by companies though if they need different coloured keysigners to make them more identifiable for staff.
I saw ledger is making custom brand names on their metallic parts and they have cases in different colors.
Using skins in easier and cheaper than buying new device in different colors, and you can choose much more color options.

It looks nice and I definitely see the appeal. It would also give some protection; in fact, I complained about BitBox02 build quality in the past (screen scratches) and suggested someone start making screen protectors for these wallets.
Yeah I just wrote about that, and I think you generally have problem with screen scratches on all your hardware wallets Wink

So it's great to see, but as it's a purpose-made product just for hardware wallets, we again run into the issue of preserving privacy / pseudonymity during ordering and shipping.
If instead, you get a custom-cut 'general purpose' piece of adhesive sheet somewhere, it's less likely to reveal what you are going to use it for.
I think they are selling stickers for other stuff also, like cars for example and general use stickers.

3913  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Square is considering making a hardware wallet for Bitcoin on: September 03, 2022, 06:44:25 PM
Block (ex Square) developers decided to reveal more information about their upcoming hardware wallet device, and this time they talked more about processors.
They first considered making their own open source ASIC processor but that would prolong release date, and have other complications along the road.
This is why they decided to choose one of three models, Secure Element (SE), System on Chip (SoC), and Microcontroller (MCU).
Final choice was Silicon Labs EFR32MG24 secure MCU  that is based on the ARM Cortex-M33 architecture, and they plan to release firmware and hardware design open source as much is possible.

Looking at their release design we can see device with usb-c connection, Li-Po battery, fingerprint sensor, nfc coil and rgb led.
In heart of everything is Silicon Labs EFR32MG24:

One more preevish website... I really don't understand what's happening with all this obsession of making the one real successor Undecided
Domain oh.gold is cool, but it's more suited for something related to gold than with bitcoin.
3915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is Saylor sued by Washington (DC) an attack to BTC? on: September 02, 2022, 03:34:44 PM
In some comments I've read it's an attack on Bitcoin. They first sanctioned Tornado Cash and accounts are to be frozen, now they start with the biggest crypto personality Micheal Saylor. What are your comments about it, are Bitcoiners next?
Good luck trying to catch all the bitcoiners around the world  Tongue
I don't know what Saylor was doing, but taxes are getting crazy, and there are no connections between Micheal Saylor and Tornado Cash, but in future they could always try to add new restrictions and regulations for Bitcoin and mining.
I think people need to understand that governments should be working for the people, we pay them and we can always fire them, one way or another.
3916  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Skins for hardware wallets on: September 02, 2022, 03:11:05 PM
Would you buy a skin that would make your hardware wallet unique?
There is one website called Builtinvain selling products like this and you can buy them using cryptocurrencies.
They can be used to change the color for hardware wallet cases, and to protect screen from scratches and change text color.
Currently supported hardware wallets are Trezor model T, Ledger S,X,S+, Bitbox02, Dcent and Safepal.

Note that I am not affiliated with this website in any way, I just think this is interesting idea.

What was he thinking trying to pull of such an exit scam?
Get rich or die tryin' while stealing money from other people Smiley
Albania is known as one of the most corrupt countries in Europe and possibly world, so who knows what people from there promised him, maybe new identity and citizenship with different name.
Who knows what really happened, someone probably snitched him, but Albania is not that far from Turkey, and it was not so easy to travel in last few years.
His new accommodation is already waiting for him in Turkish prison.

If you are smart and think ahead, 2 billions are more than enough to disappear forever, but since he was caught in Albania (lol), he obviously wasn't too smart and didn't prepare his exit scam
Or outside circumstances and travel restrictions messed up with his plans Wink
2 billions sounds like a lot of money but with current inflation, money printing and rising prices I wouldn't be surprised if that value gets similar like in Zimbabwe soon.

3918  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware wallet FUD (nonce attacks, unofficial firmware, etc) on: September 02, 2022, 02:13:19 PM
On Passport, by default you can only install a firmware image that is signed with Foundation's developer signing key.
However, you can add your own key and then it will let you install firmware signed by yourself and present you with a warning on each boot (so you'd notice if someone did it on your device).
That is fine and it reminds me on something similar we can see on smartphones running grapheneos.
I am not sure how other hardware wallets are dealing with this because I never researched it deeply.

What are your thoughts on this article
I don't know what to say about two year old article, nothing new is said there.
There are risks purchasing and using hardware wallets, but you can mitigate most of them if you are careful.
You can buy device locally in official reseller shop, use disposable email address and alternative delivery address for ordering and delivery, use PO or UPS boxes, etc.
Alternative way is to build your own DIY signing device or just use small old laptop as a cold storage.
There is no perfect universal solution for everyone, and I can find negative or positive for any options.
3919  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: TAPSIGNER, SATSCARD & SATSCHIP on: September 02, 2022, 02:03:37 PM
Coinkite launched 3 new projects based on NFC JavaCards.
Can someone just purchase blank NFC JavaCards, load your firmware code in them, and use them in the same way like new cards?
There are some valid reasons why I would choose that, one of them is  not being directly connected with anything crypto-bitcoin related.
I would prefer buying bulk empty cards locally and making my own custom design for each card.
I don't see anything being mentioned about source code, so I can only assume it's not open source.
3920  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network FAQ on: September 02, 2022, 01:50:52 PM
I *think* a lot of the clear-net stuff that is cloud hosted is from businesses running their nodes.
Their website and back end commerce is already at Amazon cloud or Google Cloud or wherever so that stays there too.
This is probably true, but this is making Lightning Network much more centralized than it should be.
If something happens with major cloud providers that would shut down most of the LN nodes and capacity would see drastic reduction.
I know VoltageCloud is actually using googlecloud, and any privacy on LN is also questionable when we know all this.

As for most users, running one of the nodes in a box that I love or any pre-packaged LN node it's usually just a click to do TOR, or in the case of Umbrel something you can't unclick. So things like that probably make up a large portion of the TOR nodes. Where people want to do it, but don't want to do it by hand so to speak. Which is fine, I want to drive my car I don't want to know how to refine gas.
There are now so many options to choose from (myNode, raspiblitz, etc.) and Umbrel is just one of them.

Sorting by capacity isn't really accurate though. If you sort by Node, you'll see better distribution (although Amazon still has 16.64% share).
You can sort them any way you like, but majority of nodes are still on cloud servers.
Centralized exchanges are probably using cloud servers, for example I can see that Kraken exchange has Amazon ISP, Okex exchange uses Alibaba, and Bitfinex is using Google Cloud.
