2941  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Safepal hardware wallet review and opinions on: December 21, 2022, 07:36:23 PM
the safepal team had made several airdrops of both their SFP token and others they added almost all the chains present how: solana, fantom, polygon, avax, heco, kcc, arbitrum, near, songbird and many others
I would never waste a single satoshi on buying Safepal wallet, and this is all worthless shitcoins and buying hardware wallet just to get few bucks from some airdrops is not very smart, especially if they are asking for any kind of identity verification.
No need to repeat ourselves about Safepal wallet, just read everything that is written in this topic and know that Safepal has serious flaws in their design.
Kraken team wrote more about Safepal but we also discussed about that in forum so you can check that out:

2942  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How does instant exchanges work? on: December 21, 2022, 05:48:44 PM
I wondered how they are working, like the process from receiving the payment to exchanging and sending the exchanged crypto.
They are not all working the same way, but most of them are just using third party centralized exchanges and I would be very careful using services like that with larger amount of coins.
From my research exch.cx looks ok, they don't use any third parties, they have live reserves show on their website and they claim they can prove that if asked.
Most important thing to look with all this instant exchanges is to read their terms and stay away from anything that can ask for kyc verification and seize your coins if you don't provide what they asked.

I'm assuming they are using some other exchange API, for example, Binance or KuCoin or CoinBase or whatever. I'm not looking to create a new one lol but just curious about how they are working since i cant understand how everything is connected lol.
Some of them are using big centralized exchanges and they and they don't hold any funds.
You will have to ask support for each of this exchange for more details and see what they tell you about this.
2943  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance US buys Voyager Digital assets for $1.02 billion on: December 21, 2022, 05:43:00 PM
No one put the gun on his head and forced him to do it.
No one that we know.... and nobody knows what is happening behind the scenes Wink
If you saw videos from Scam Bankman he was shaking like a junky, he was drinking heavy medications and probably he took drugs for some time to appear sort off normal in public.
I don't know full details around Voyager, but I can't possibly imagine why platform like that would be profitable in future, and yes I know people forget things to easy, but still...
There is nothing ''New Voyager'' is going to do that will make me consider using it for anything.
2944  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Have anyone used coinplaza.it recently? on: December 21, 2022, 05:34:56 PM
For Bitcoin to euro, my limit is €100. But when I'm not logged in, the limit is €10,000 (and €20,000 for crypto to crypto). But I can't do anything without logging in, so maybe they show the limit they'll have after full KYC.
Have you ever tried exchanging Bitcoin Lightning Network to Euro sepa with Coinplaza?
I registered test account with temp email, and it first asked me to accept cookies before doing that, than I had to accept all of their terms.
Now I see there is 3 level of verification and for exchanging to Euro sepa they ask me to complete Level 2 verification, even for 50 euros.

This 10k and 20k limits is fake and it's probably some poor tactics to lure new customers  Tongue
2945  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: I have to verify my blockchain account? on: December 21, 2022, 05:23:31 PM
make Exodus and Electrum your main wallet, they also have an exchange feature, don't let any wallet limited you for accessing your coin use a noncustodial wallet.
Exodus wallet can indirectly ask you for kyc verification because they are using third party partners that can freeze your coins if you don't comply with their request.
If you want to use multicoin wallet with some kind of exchange better try Unstoppable.money for mobile devices, or AtomicDex for desktop computers or mobile.
In some cases you can even use Bisq as a wallet and best decentralized exchange that exist today.
It's best to stay away from all online wallets, n matter how ''safu'' they look.

2946  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] [banned mixer] - Best Bitcoin Mixer / Tumbler on: December 21, 2022, 03:04:15 PM
Hello, we are a little surprised to hear this review. If you took a look at our about section you can read that we take an additional fee of 0.0005 BTC fixed and 0.0002 BTC per additional address. If you have sent a small amount of money this explains why the fees seem high. For example, if you sent 30$ (0.0018 BTC) and selected 0.9% fee you would have to deduct 0.9% of this amount + 0.0005 BTC fee which equals a final amount of 0.0012838 BTC (21.67$).
This information should be clearly written on the main page, fixed fee will be charged plus service fee, but this makes your service almost unusable for sending smaller amount of coins.
I only glimpsed FAQ and About page, and my math was wrong for 1 Bitcoin sent, but I sent more than 30$ of Bitcoin and I expected to receive that amount minus service and transaction fees.
2947  Economy / Collectibles / Re: How to remove tamper-evident sticker residue safely? on: December 21, 2022, 02:51:25 PM
I have a couple of DiY silver coins (redeemed) that I'd want to remove the hologram sticker residue. Is there a safe way to do this without damaging the coin itself? If I manage to remove the residue, I will send them to ICG for grading as "blank" coins.
You need to apply heat, maybe with hair drier and use something oil based to remove any leftovers.
I had to remove one hologram style void residue from laptop cover and for that I had to use rubbing alcohol with magic sponge, but be careful with this stuff.
It removed everything from laptop but surface is visibly different coloration compared to surrounding material from laptop cover.
I don't
2948  Other / Meta / Re: Request: New Local Board for Pakistan (Urdu) on: December 21, 2022, 02:22:06 PM
It's great to see new Nigerian local board added to forum, and i think the regular monthly local board reports made by Rikafip helped a lot with this change.
Pakistan community has similar activity like Nigerian so I think it's possible to expect this change in near future, but let's see how much members from Pakistan really want this to happen.
I always imagined that Pakistan and India speak same or similar language, but this is not the case, most Indians also speak very good english language.
2949  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is it cool to run Bitcoin full node on Android OS? on: December 20, 2022, 10:20:53 PM
I said "mobile"...
With a phone you have a builtin 3g/4g/5g modem, that makes your node portable if you need.
I saw there is a way to run internet on mobile phones even with ethernet sables, so simple adapter cable would work just fine, and you would probably get better speed.
It wouldn't be portable anymore, but you could always switch between option and choose what you prefer more.
People usually don't move bitcoin nodes with them all the time, but I guess you could also do that in extreme cases if you have unlimited internet.

I like the idea, but connecting a phone to an external USB drive seems ridiculous. A 1 TB microsd card costs well over over €100.
I don't understand what's weird about that, people are using exactly the same thing on Raspberry Pi running Bitcoin nodes, with external hard drives or with SD cards.
You could also use larger USB stick (maybe with adapter) that is usually cheaper than SD card, but it's more expensive than hard drives.
2950  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Stolen BTCs from paper wallet on: December 20, 2022, 10:10:25 PM
It is (was) a paper wallet I generated in bitaddress.org. I generated it online, in my work. The system is protected by firewall and VPN. Then I printed it in the printer connected in the network.
You made a big mistake. Who knows what kind of malware and keyloggers you have, that can't be detected easily.
No matter how ''safu'' you think your computer is, it's still connected to internet and paper wallet should be printed from website that is download and generated offline.
Nobody knows if your office have hidden cameras or other type of surveillance, but paper wallets should never be used like this.

Another thing is your opinion about one method I'm thinking for generate a paper wallet in bitaddress.org. Everybody tells that the bitaddress' website is safe. Is that so?
Why are you using paper wallets in the first place, and why the heck are you doing this on your work place??

2951  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Updated] FTX on: December 20, 2022, 09:49:36 PM
As expected, FTX is considering to to claw back all those donations (~73 million USD) SBF made to political parties.
Good luck trying to get back money donated to politician parasites Cheesy
Maybe some explosion or big fire will happen soon with all documentations that prove all politicians that received this money including president Biden.
Interestingly enough White House refused to answer any questions about Scam Bankman-Fried donations....
I think that google could soon be manipulating and deleting search results related with this topic, but I found one article from 2021

2952  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Have anyone used coinplaza.it recently? on: December 20, 2022, 09:34:02 PM
But today, when I went to exchange a little amount of BTC for USDT, I just noticed the limit is 20000 EURO a day without KYC. Since when they changed this? Do you think it's trusted enough to have a big amount of exchange here? Have you used it recently, if yes, what was the maximum amount you exchanged here?
I never used Coinplaza for exchanging coins or fait currencies, but it's interesting that I am getting 10,000 euros limit for exchanging Bitcoin to Euro sepa account, and I don't know how that is possible.
For exchanging crypto currencies I am getting higher limits like you did, up to 20,000 euros, for example exchanging ethereum for Bitcoin.
I am not finding Coinplaza anywhere on kycnot.me website so I would be careful exchanging larger amount of coins, but having more options without kyc should be a good thing.
There is option of increasing limits, probably with kyc registration, so there is option they could ask the same thing anytime.

2953  Other / Meta / Re: Shall we lock all topics about World Cup 2022 in next 7 or 14 days? on: December 20, 2022, 08:50:28 PM
Many topics about World Cup 2022 but it ended two days ago.
You worry so much about clean forum and World Cup topics and just today you created three of your own new topics?! Seriously  Roll Eyes (Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2023 to the forum, Bitcoin ASIC price index, Shall we lock all topics about World Cup 2022 in next 7 or 14 days?)
I think someone already created a topic about this subject, that means that your topic is also duplicate.

I agree that any duplicated topics should be locked or deleted, but if you have problem with them report them to moderators.
It's not only for world cup, some membebrs created similar duplicate topics for Champions League and other competitions, but cleaning gambling boards is not an easy task.
2954  Other / Meta / Re: AI writing messages on Bitcointalk.org on: December 20, 2022, 08:34:27 PM
So what did we learn here? I think the lesson is that I should get back to work instead of playing with the AI detector, even though it seems more exciting than the AI itself.
I was not able to open detector website and I was getting 504 Gateway Time-out errors, so I can't say how cool it is, but it's probably going to be improved in future.
Here is one nice video showing how you can teach ChatGPT sort off saying that Taxation is Theft, despite his preprogramed wall saying this is impossible Smiley
I think when developers see this they will have to quickly ''update'' this ChatGPT crap for being extremist Wink

2955  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for an Easy, Non-Custodial Wallet for my parent's friend (who died) on: December 20, 2022, 08:17:43 PM
I've been a BTC holder & member of Bitcointalk since 2014, back when got my childhood best friend into it. He just died. So, I'm trying to find an easy to use & non-custodial online wallet
Bless you & your loved ones.
Don't use any online Bitcoin wallets. Period.
Over the years I save many people complaining about online wallets with accounts, and I see not good reason to use them when you have perfectly fine software open source software wallets.
Electrum is most popular desktop wallet among Bitcoin community, but Sparrow wallet is seriously good alternative option.
For mobile wallets you can check Unstoppable.money and most secure option is buying open source hardware wallets like Trezor, Bitbox, Passport, Keystone etc.

do no EVER try to ask anything to those pieces of shit on Reddit. They will ban you, block you and leave you on the side of the road.
Especially those on r/BitcoinBeginners
Some reddit communities are asking for higher activity and karma on your account before you can create topics, so it's nothing personal.
I remember r/CryptoCurrency was doing this for years, and they are probably trying to fight spam this way, but it's stupid in my opinion.

2957  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] [banned mixer] - Best Bitcoin Mixer / Tumbler on: December 20, 2022, 07:36:00 PM
First I have to say that Mixero has nothing to so with original CoinJoin technology so it's misleading to include that term in description on this website.
CoinJoin is trustless and decentralized method for combining Bitcoin from multiple addresses into single transaction, and we have something different with Mixero.
I won't go deeply into comparison and I would leave that to experts, but I will shortly write about my experience with using Mixero one time.

I opened website, entered my receiving Bitcoin address and selected lowest possible fee that was 0.9%, after that I sent my coins to address shown on next page.
After few hours I received my coins but I was surprised to see that I received much lower amount of coins than I originally sent.
I won't say exact amount of coins I sent to keep my privacy, but I will say that Mixero took more than 5% fee, that is something they don't even offer on their website!
Imagine if you sent 1 Bitcoin and you receive 0.95 Bitcoin back... that is over $840 just on fees!
I selected 0.9% fee so I should have received around 0.991 BTC, but htis was not the case.
Highest fee they offer on Mixero website 2.4% but you need to select this manually, so there is clear mistake or misleading information from Mixero.

I didn't contact Mixero support for this, but this is very wrong and it doesn't look good to me, so I would suggest people to stay away from Mixero website.
2958  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Foundation Devices 'Passport Batch 2' hardware wallet review on: December 19, 2022, 10:47:42 PM
Really looking forward to see what this funding enables regarding business expansion and software development ... Things are looking bright for you guys, congrats @zherber! Probably not next year, but I would really love to see some action in Europe, perhaps 2024?
I just hope it's not going to be expansion and adding shitcoins support in Passport, because it's nice when you have 7 million dollars collected by new seed round, but it's not very nice to hear this was done by Polychain Capital  Tongue
It's ok if other coins want to build on top of Passport software, but this should NOT be officially supported by Passport developers in any way.
I don't know much about Polychain Capital, but quick search is showing me they are hedge fund involved with Tezos shitcoin, Quai Network, Dfinity, Kik Messenger and they invested in 14 different shitcoins...

2959  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Introducing Cypherock X1, World's first hardware-based MPC Wallet on: December 19, 2022, 10:37:44 PM
We were never using a battery in the hardware wallet. Can you point out the link where you saw this?
I am sure I saw something like this posed on Technical Specifications section of main page, posted under Power and Battery subsection.
It was strange to me so I didn't really understand if device is powered with USB or with some internal battery.
Maybe you need to rephrase it or explain what that means exactly... if there is no battery why posting word Battery at all?

https://www.cypherock.com/

I finished watching Crypto Guide video and other Cypherock video reviews, and I have to say that I don't like single point of failure that makes wallet unusable if PIN code is lost or forgotten.
Some other things really need to be improved if you want to compete with all other hardware wallet manufacturers, and I hope to see software updates and compatibility with other wallets (like you said before for Electrum).
2960  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance US buys Voyager Digital assets for $1.02 billion on: December 19, 2022, 10:07:54 PM
Voyager Digital, who first stopped all withdrawals and deposits earlier this year and then declared bankruptcy, accepted the offer from Binance and will sell their assets for 1.022 billion USD. If I remember correctly,  FTX also planned to take them over, but we all know how that ended up so at least I hope people will be able to get their money back.
I saw that Voyager shitcoin price jumped a lot after releasing this news in public, so I wouldn't trust anything until I see official confirmation.
If I remember correctly this takeover of Voyager was talked and even before crash of FTX exchange but then it was canceled or paused.
For me this is waste of money or pure speculation and gamble move from CZ, maybe to divert attention in other direction and confirm how Binance has more than enough capital.

The buy has not been approved by the bankruptcy court, it's scheduled for next year in January if there is a refusal the whole deal is off.
As for the value, it will still be the task of the court to see how much every creditor gets, they have total fillings of 1.8 billion right now and only got 1.02 billion for them, so of course, somebody will be at a loss.
I don't know really, just speculation here, but this could be self-destruction button presses by CZ, so he can later blame Voyager for Binance collapse.
