3921  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has Bitcoin turned the corner? on: February 14, 2018, 10:03:16 AM
Bitcoin clocked six-day highs above $9,000 over the weekend, but a long-term bull market revival may not be on the cards, yet. Having clocked a high of $9,070.64 on Saturday, prices again fell back below $8,000 briefly on Sunday before climbing again. CoinDesks's Bitcoin Price Index (BPI) was last seen at $8,772. The cryptocurrency has appreciated by 9.70 percent in the last 24 hours, as per data source CoinMarketCap. Bitcoin (BTC) is also close to 40 percent above last week's low of $5,947.40. So has the cryptocurrency bottomed out?

For this month, yeah, bitcoin has already bottomed out.

For the medium term as in a year or so's time, I think that the market variance will naturally take bitcoin to lower lows. Could be even less than $4-5k. All of this depends on future scenarios that we currently cannot safely predict.

Short term, we're going to go above $9k-10k. We're probably going to hang around there, before entering a full on crypto winter where price goes down to around the current level, perhaps a bit less, and stabilise. Then when markets are ready again, and near another halving, bitcoin will get revived and sensationalist news articles come out, and it gets hyped up again.
3922  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC break through the $9k resistance line? on: February 14, 2018, 09:53:13 AM
Well we've had two attempts at $9000 already, and failed. If we fail a third time, down we go...

Someone of reddit posted the following chart, which I thought illustrated where we are at best:

I expect bitcoin will make it's third attempt to break upwards in a day or two (on the 15th at the latest).

The third attempt would be coming in at around chinese new year time.

I don't expect the third attempt to be a dud, instead I think that we have stabilized enough to make our way upwards. With the storyline being Chinese New Year and all that, and basically everything going up after the Chinese New Year being what people expect at the moment, a big pump is really in near sight.

But if it does turn out that this current bullishness is simply a bull trap, then all hell could break loose and we could crash down to around $7k again and settle at that level.

So BTC's near future in terms of price will pretty much depend on $9k hit or not, and not just that but if it can sustain at above $9k or not.
3923  Economy / Speculation / Re: Guy we must stop crypto/btc FUD :( we need to start campaigne. on: February 14, 2018, 09:38:46 AM
Many so called twitter/FB experts just spreading that btc will go to 3800-4200-4800$ just like that ,without showing any confirmations of the candlesticks,

And foolish followers updating on their timeline and retweeting their posts, so finally these leads to btc dump. when such kind of FUD spreads every where who will come forward to buy btc, all will be waiting for btc dump , Sad

TBH, that's not entirely true.

It is true that FUD is being spread around and most of it is going to baseless and pretty much illogical reasoning, but just cause these tweets are being retweeted by their followers doesn't mean that the markets will all of a sudden just go down like that.

Main reason is still is the natural cycle of BTC, right now we're in a correction and consolidation phase where prices are expected to drop.

As much as we'd like the FUD to stop, there is no way to stop it. Promoting education and let everyone find out themselves what BTC really is is going to be the only way to stop people from believing in them.
3924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Suicide due to losses due to investment in virtual currency on: February 14, 2018, 09:26:30 AM
I find it interesting how some other Koreans decide to take their anger to as well, after reading this: https://www.businessinsider.com.au/cryptocurrency-traders-in-korea-react-to-bitcoin-bloodbath-2018-1

Honestly, I think that this is pathetic. Doesn't even have anything to do with cryptocurrencies.

All I see is a bunch of greedy people that are trying to make money off the crypto bubble and failed to do so because they entered the market at a very unfavorable point. They took the risk themselves so they should take responsibility for it.

What good does committing suicide do? Or kill your own laptop or whatever. That just shows your incompetency if anything. Crypto isn't even supposed to be a tool for making money, these people know nothing about crypto and are just looking at it from the wrong perspective.
3925  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: coins.bingo deleted account for no reason on: February 14, 2018, 09:09:31 AM
So, www.coins.bingo deleted my account for no reason and without any explanation. Anyone know this site similar to freebitco.in ? After a week of playing they deleted my account for no reason. Support does not reply to emails. Glad I didn't deposit there.. Couldn't find their thread here if there is one at all also..
 Angry

There is no thread on bitcointalk for their company. So the chances of them being a scam free bitcoin site is much greater. At least you didn't deposit anything, eh? Otherwise it would have been brutal.

If they deleted your account, then that's just more the proof for them being a scam site.

BTW, compare the two sites: coins.bingo and totaldice.com.

Look at the similarities... Almost 100%. Even the games are the same. Now, I am not sure whether totaldice is the operated by the same person, but the totaldice.com forum handle has not been online since September last year. A bit weird if you ask me.
3926  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Changelly SCAMMED me today. Read the FACTS here. on: February 14, 2018, 08:56:01 AM
I personally do not like Changelly.

Back in august I sent them a substantial amount of XRP, and forgot the destination tag when I sent it. I could clearly see that they received it in their wallet which I sent it too. But when I asked support they essentially mocked me and told me that it's my problem now, and not theirs and they would do NOTHING to help me. They were also EXTREMELY rude about it.

I mean everyone makes mistakes, they could of easily just sent me the coins, but  they just pocketed them for themselves.

Yeah, that kind of attitude doesn't really help. If you ever get that kind of response from them, make sure you do expose them on social media.

Not only will you get a full on apology, you'll probably get your issue looked into more substantially than if you have stayed silent. Changelly's PR officers are doing a much better job than the support people, to be honest.

Forgetting payment IDs are your fault in the begnning though, doesn't mean they can just not assist you in any way.

Anyways, now everyone's learned a lesson, use another service like shapeshift, or use a reputable exchange instead of Changelly.
3927  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to go below 4000$ on Feb 20 on: February 14, 2018, 08:37:45 AM
OP, That's assuming that we're going to see the trend continue. In which case you can probably assume that bitcoin would have went to over $1 million in a few years time, and when the crash happened, bitcoin would go back to $1 within a few years time as well.

The thing is that these trends do not sustain, pumps and dumps happen all the time and it's inaccurate to try to predict future gains/losses solely from past performance.

I think that we've currently already found a pretty nice floor at $8k, and with that support we can definitely go test the $10k level. I doubt that we'll see $4k at all this year, although it is possible if the markets start panicking once again.
3928  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin has been acting unusually similar to the stock market on: February 14, 2018, 06:51:50 AM
So what. Bitcoin is bitcoin and stocks are stocks.

They are too fundamentally different things. It's easy to see why this may even be true at the moment, though. Because people are seeing bitcoin and stocks as short and medium term investments at the moment.

There are still long term holders that are holding bitcoin for when the SHTF or to preserve their wealth.

I don't care how much correlation BTC has to the stock markets, as long as it is bitcoin, I'm holding it. Bitcoin won't suffer in an economic collapse scenario(in fact it may even benefit), but stocks will.
3929  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Changelly SCAMMED me today. Read the FACTS here. on: February 14, 2018, 06:26:03 AM
Yup, OP's issues are resolved, thankfully everything turned out to be fixed at the end.

Don't use them again, though. Don't use some service just because some guy is endorsing it, especially if you can't hold him liable for any losses that you may incur through the usage of any of these services.

Changelly's service standards have fallen off drastically ever since they first started working. When they first started they were amazing.

Anyways, seems like there are two most efficient ways of getting your issues resolved at the moment with changelly: open a reddit thread or open a trustpilot review.
3930  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [YoBit] Scammed ETH on: February 14, 2018, 06:17:30 AM
currency_id: 40001 (ETH), txid: 0x35b9039229d345b7dccb44cfbe8370d8b2bc2ff2083a0a875f1d1fc1c9805e87
Adress : 0x9066983ed905cD6D429AEd9574E65Ed1Ef28Ac7a

Hi there, i deposit 0.4 eth from bitstamp 1 month ago and i didn't receive yet in my balance (contract problem i know, sorry...). No response from Yobit Support. Anyone can do something ? Thanks.

I don't know much about ETH, but I've seen a ton of problems with people depositing ETH to an exchange through or involving a contract. It seems like that only a direct transfer of ETH works for some exchanges.

So I think that there are two possibilities. One is that there is something wrong with your transfer, or b, there is something wrong on yobit's end.

Unfortunately, I would still wait for a response from yobit support since there is pretty much nothing else you can do at the moment. If you can confirm that your deposit address has indeed received the intended amount of ETH, then they have received the funds and you just need to wait for them to credit you with your balance, which can take a while for sure.
3931  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Koinbi No Withdrawal Potential Scam on: February 14, 2018, 06:10:07 AM

If in fact they are swindlers, I just lost some solaris, be careful, you should ban for life these scammers Undecided

Unfortunately, there is no way that they get banned.

Also the thread in the OP has already been taken off which is a huge worry. I really don't see koinbi.com coming back or becoming legitimate any time soon. Scammers will remain to be scammers, they never show any remorse.

The most common issue people seem to have with them is the withdrawals stuck at being "almost done".

Still, i'm not sure why anyone would even consider to use them. They don't offer anything that legit exchanges don't offer atm.
3932  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Changelly SCAMMED me today. Read the FACTS here. on: February 12, 2018, 09:33:01 AM
I tried to do a Bitcoin to Litecoin exchange today through Changelly.com, and this is how it went.
Changelly received my Bitcoins within a few minutes but yet their system was saying "Awaiting payment". Which i thought was weird. So I waited for a couple of more confirmations. At this point on the blockchain, my transaction had 4 confirmations, so i proceeded to contact their support team.
Their response was there was a technical issue. I asked them what the issue was and they used the "there is a technical issue with Bitcoin" excuse, which is impossible because the mempool is clear and Bitcoin transactions are working flawlessly. I got freaked out and asked for a refund because i checked the google reviews and there were tons of "Changelly is a scam" posts across the net.
At this point the support team asked for my Bitcoin address, which i gave them. But it has nearly been 24 hours and nothing has been refunded.
They are now ignoring all my support tickets and the more i read online, the more i realize changelly is a scam. I trusted Charlie (Shrem) because he recommended this company to me personally. It's a shame they are tarnishing so many good peoples names over a few bitcoin here and there.

TLDR : Changelly have scammed for a considerable amount of Bitcoin and are now ignoring me.

PS. I will update this community as soon as i get an update. If im mistaken, il admit it. But as of now, Changelly.com is 100% a scam.

It's a good thing that you've understood that you've indeed gotten ripped off by changelly.

It also seems like that they are selectively scamming users out of their money. Only the larger trasnactions ever get delayed and the smaller transactions rarely have any issues. And they always come up with excuse after excuse.

If they're not responding to you via support emails, then try posting a message on their reddit channel: https://www.reddit.com/r/Changelly/

Based on other people's past experiences, they are much more likely to respond if you reach out via a social platform because they have pressure to resolve your complaint asap.
3933  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: POLONIEX deposit still not accredited after 50 days on: February 12, 2018, 09:25:02 AM
I have seen Poloniex more than any other exchange have exactly these kinds of issues. I am not launching any accusations, but it seems, (at least anecdotally) that this is a very regular occurence with this exchange. I have seen high ranking members having similar troubles; if I am not mistaken (please, correct me if I am), BAC has had similar issues, but once support gets involved this gets remedied. I have not seen anything like this go completely unanswered or unfixed.

They have been having a lot of issues recently with withdrawals and deposits alike, which I imagine has filled up their support queue and backlog quite nicely.
https://twitter.com/Poloniex/status/961030372967550976
Many users are complaining about their deposits going without credit into their account.
https://twitter.com/Poloniex/status/961102960011997186
They say everything is working normally on this status, but there are many users freaking out if you read the comments. The one fellow mentions that it took 6-months for him to get a response from their support, but then the problem was fixed.

If this is a systematic issue, I wouldn't be surprised if they did this purposefully to offset their own investments/trades or potential exit-scam. This kind of thing is normally a prerequisite to an exchange going AWOL, experiencing a "hack". I've just seen it happen too many times before, but hopefully they are different and do not disappear for one reason or another. It seems like you just must be patient, and I would suggest again bumping your support tickets at all, but especially with things like "I'm waiting!" as this normally resets your ticket's position in the support queue. The best advice, would just be patient and if you can try to contact them on social media as that has worked for a couple people.

Also, if I could make a suggestion, try to (if you can) move your coins into your personal wallet from the exchange before moving it to another exchange; there is sometimes weird things that occur when you do exchange>exchange withdrawals>deposit; not sure if this is intentional, maybe to thwart arbitrage, a fluke in the programming, but normally you are better off going Exchange > Personal Wallet > Exchange if you must do so at all. Exchanges inherently come with these problems all the time, there are so many ghost stories around the forum of exchanges stealing this and that, not crediting this or confirming that; I would also advise against using exchange in any capacity you can.

Agreed. It's always good to move your coins to your personal wallet first. That's where you get the most control in terms of sending funds. Also sometimes exchanges demand you to send your transaction with a payment ID which you need to include. Otherwise, you are not going to get the funds delivered to your account.

Also if something like this happens, you can easily sign a message from a personal wallet instead of an exchange wallet, which you have to deal with 2 sides.

Any chance that you sent to a bitcoin wallet, which is why the USDT didn't get credited? If you are sure that you did send to the USDT wallet, and it still hasn't arrived. All I can give you is good luck. You just have to wait for their ticketing system to respond to you.
3934  Other / Meta / Re: C'mon Moderators clean it up wtf on: February 12, 2018, 09:11:07 AM
I don't think that board is moderated much if at all. Probably just user reports....

Edit - why the f would anyone waste time over there anyhow? Tongue

I used to spend probably an hour a day trashing pointless threads in off topic and politics and society and banning those who post exclusively in them but I gave up. It's a neverending task and one that is both tedious and extremely time consuming. Now that we have the merit system these sorts of trash threads will likely dwindle and hopefully go extinct because posting in them will be futile. People only used to do so because they could easily rank up by posting in them but now that's not going to be possible. If you report them I will handle them though.

Totally agreed. People aren't going to spam as much in them now because nobody's going to read it that actually has merit points to give away. Instead, they are just going to be spamming to themselves, essentially.

But still I feel like a lot of the discussions are probably better moved to off topic, since at least 20-30% of the threads are indeed off topic and has nothing to do remotely with politics or society discussions.

I don't know how it can be handled any better than it is right now, apart from taking down the entire politics and society subforum.
3935  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Chinese New Year boost crypto market cap? on: February 12, 2018, 08:59:51 AM
Historically January has been a month of declining prices only to recover and grow again after Chinese New Year.

I expect the same to happen this time, especially with some of the recent good news like the positive notes on crypto in the US.

Yep. The reason why I think that prices are most likely to go up after Chinese new year is that people have needs before Chinese new year to buy gifts and all, and it is much more likely for them to cash out. While that may not be a factor in itself, but if others know this pattern from happening, they're more likely to follow it.

So February, we're already seeing a gradual increase in average prices and I think we'll just see this accelerate after we break $10k.

Whether the Chinese New year events are a factor, we can't really tell. Could just be the natural cycle of BTC. Also you can't really predict the policies that governments put in place, that's just not up to us to decide. But I think we've already seen the worst of the worst bans come out already.
3936  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - Recovery or bull trap v.2018 ? on: February 12, 2018, 08:49:48 AM
Def a bull trap, but I think we already have hit bottom guys.  So good news...  And a 'full recovery' of getting back all that value to ATH levels will take months imo.  Think of all those anxious people who are prolly wanting to drop their bags at every mini pump...  Only to buy back higher (most likely in FOMO mode) when BTC breaks out beyond 20K USD.  Grin

Agreed. I think that this current pump is probably not going to take us to $10k or more levels. We're probably just going to hang around $8k-9k for the time being and you're much better off trading for volatility and cycles right now.

But we've definitely bottomed out at around $6k and we ain't getting back there once again any time soon.

I would wait until price drops to around $7.5-8k and then buying a whole bunch because honestly that is going to be as cheap as they come at the moment. As you said, when FOMO is a factor again, and price goes up to $10k+, people will be buying back their sold coins at higher levels.
3937  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin Talk Forum Donation Page is greedy asf! on: February 12, 2018, 08:42:33 AM
I cracked up when I read, If you donate 50 BTC, you get VIP status and the ability to create a custom title for yourself. This must be so outdated, thats like $412,599.75 as of today LMAO!

IT is outdated. 50 BTC when it first got implemented was probably at max, a few hundred dollars.

Obviously, this has nothing to do with theymos' greed or whatever. If he really wanted to make money off the forum, don't you think that offering a donator membership for a few hundred thousand dollars is a bit dumb? It's probably way easier to limit access to forum content until you pay a membership fee, which is mandatory for every single person using this forum.

Perhaps this figure should be updated to reflect the current bitcoin prices and to make it more accessible, but I don't see it necessary at the moment. If something needs donations to be funded then surely the admins will come up with something.
3938  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [New Exchange] - IAZO on: February 11, 2018, 08:52:47 AM
I do not see anything that is not on the more established exchanges. The list of coins is small. If you could make it different in some way from other exchanges eg list ERC-20 tokens then I would be interested. Best of luck.

Agreed. Every single feature that they've listed in "what's so special about IAZO" is already industry standard. There is absolutely nothing special with having a cold storage wallet or having servers monitored 24/7. Every other exchange already do this.

BTW, what is your rewards rewards program?

The maker/taker is actually high compared to some exchanges which started out being feeless and then only later on added a maker/taker fee. Some exchanges even have a negative maker rate.

You really need to establish trust first, because right now, people don't trust exchanges anymore in general.
3939  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Freewallet.org - "missing" tokens for 1.5 months on: February 11, 2018, 08:06:24 AM
How is possible if wabi tokens are  supported freewallet  you don't give these user his tokens? Freewallet admin you must review the pablogar case.

Again, if a transaction of tokens was made to a user's address BEFORE the support of such tokens got enabled, they need to be manually posted to that user's account once the support in on. It takes time and human resources, too.

This is true, but I still don't think that 3 weeks is an acceptable amount of time to be waiting for just one case.

In future, perhaps come up with something to increase your efficiency when it comes to these missent tokens cases. It's not rare at all for someone to send tokens to an address that they were not supposed to.

Otherwise you'll have to go through this every single time.

Predetermine the amount of money someone will have to pay as well as the max amount of time someone has to wait, for recovery of tokens. That way, everything is clear and there is a clear procedure.
3940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Governments manipulating Crypto Economies!? on: February 11, 2018, 07:33:58 AM
As we can see that after the overwhelming 2017 when bitcoin and alts used to rock everybody with the enormous returns that they gave, everything relevant to this caught the eyes of many Governments and bitcoin also got considered as a matter of topic to be discussed about, in many official meetings held by these governments. The way these people came up with their so-called negative comments and some very sophisticated, yet confusing statements that bitcoin is ponzi and we will not give it the position of a legal tender - made every bitcoiner think that they'll actually ban it. And such mess created a lot of panic in markets where only sells took place.

When people are looking it as a matter of worry, I think that Governments just tried to create panic in markets to purchase Bitcoins themselves at these cheaper values, and once the chaos gets settled, the value will bounce to such a level where small investors won't be able to buy Bitcoins. What do you think? Do you agree with what I think? I think buying at current rates when some "fools" are selling it is the best option to earn great profits this year alone as Investors are predicting that bitcoin may go to $25000 during mid-2018.

There is always the suspicion that the governments are panicking about the cryptocurrency situation and trying to stop it when it still hasn't grown fully mature yet. However, to be honest they're probably just sad that they aren't taxing any of this.

There is also a likelihood that they are trying to keep bitcoin's price artificially do, which they have known to do with commodities such as silver in the past (or at least a lot of people believe them to do so).

It makes sense, but there's no proof. In the end, it's your decision to invest, and bitcoin's future is bright no matter what governments say or do.
