41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: SCAMCOIN - new project with all the BEST FEATURES of other SCAM coins on: June 07, 2019, 09:06:54 PM
I see many other SCAM coins that are copying my idea.

In fact, too many to really keep track of.  If, for some stupid reason you do NOT want to be scammed, then you could go to the coin's official Discord or verified web site to get your wallets from a legit Github source.

But then... what would SCAMCOIN do?  And what would all the cheap imitation SCAMCOINS do?  They would not be able to scam you.  Where't the fun in that?
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: SCAMCOIN - new project with all the BEST FEATURES of other SCAM coins on: June 07, 2019, 12:28:34 AM
Bump because the scammers just posted about 12-15 bullshit scam threads again...

Watch your links like a hawk.

Premining about 95% of the POW phase?

Really?

Someone told you that was a good idea?
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: SCAMCOIN - new project with all the BEST FEATURES of other SCAM coins on: June 06, 2019, 05:53:08 PM
Very good project and I am follow it everyday from now on forever.  Thank you for such good thing to see.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / SCAMCOIN - new project with all the BEST FEATURES of other SCAM coins on: June 06, 2019, 05:51:40 PM
This is a pre-announcement for SCAMCOIN, but here are the details as they stand right now...

1. SCAMCOIN (SCM) will rely upon dead and dying announcement threads in order to propagate interest among the crypto community
2. SCAMCOIN will use the names of already-existing projects in order to bring in unsuspecting users.
3. SCAMCOIN will link to everything pretty much legitimately, including websites, pools, exchanges and block explorers, BUT...
4. SCAMCOIN will deceitfully change the correct wallet and miner links in order to send the user to various forms of malware.
5. SCAMCOIN will almost always be posted by BCT users who are brand new.
6. SCAMCOIN will also have a couple of generic posts UNDER the OP with generic praise... 'Very good project and will follow closely. Thank you'.  Yeah... like an old ANN thread from a coin given up on 10 months ago is a good thing...

These are all the details for now.  I am busy coding the malware at this time.  Once I am done, look for about a dozen posts to obscure and dead coins with my links to keyloggers, remote access agents or whatever else I can slip past you.
46  Economy / Scam Accusations / BEWARE of links that are NOT what they APPEAR to be on: June 05, 2019, 11:43:40 PM
I just found about  half dozen new ANN threads for projects that are NOT new, but which are being posted to try to deceive you into downloading and running something OTHER than the wallet that is being offered.

Watch your links VERY closely.  In fact, I would go so far as to say do NOT download ANYTHING from these ANN threads at all.  Find the legitimate website for the project or the legitimate Discord channel and get your downloads from more trustworthy sources.

Three of the scam posts that I just saw led to a download for a wallet for Fydcoin - whatever that is.

Why would a Ravencoin thread link to a fydcoin wallet?

I would stay away from this shit big time.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AmityCoin - Re-Launch NEW TICKER XAM [PoW] [CPU ONLY] [NO POOLS] on: June 02, 2019, 07:20:22 PM
Why are the rest of your team members just cartoons. That sure does not give other people confidence to invest their resource into the project. Does it?

Once we have a secret development, we have specific team members. Something like this. I pass by such projects and advise others to do the same.
Openness to community is most important.

There is no secret development.  It was not my choice to not announce on BCT but other places. This was a decision of the founders who left the project and I took over.  I decided switching bases from Turtlecoin to Monero would helps achieve our goals in the fight against pools and GPUS.  Does a coin have to announce here on BCT or its a scam?  BCT is the end all authority?

Silly Silly Logic

haha nah u good Tongue
RVN for example, there was no ANN at the start, Kai, a community member (that learned about the project directly by scrolling on github) that then made the discord and wrote the first community ANN was the one sharing that on bitcointalk
i remember always almost triggering Bruce Fenton by saying things like "Overstock ninja mined RVN", which was a joke to poke him but technically, according to the bitcointalk mentality, some would consider that accurate
but it aint accurate, cause it was announced in alot of different places, event were made before launch and such

Heck, even Satoshi didn't announced on bitcointalk, he made the forum later on and the source code wasnt even on github but sourceforge it's just that some people can be very very close minded.

So yeah, don't worry, u good :3

I have never quite understood how this one forum ever got to be viewed as the de facto singular source for all things crypto-related.  And, given the high percentage of scams and attempted revivals of long-dead projects, those who DO have something of value to post here are pretty much tossing their needle into a haystack of rubble and refuse.

what  Cheesy 700,000,000 coins PREMINED.

Yep.  Check the explorer.  Block 1 - 700,000,000

Blocks 2 - 2000 - 1/10 of a coin each
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Virtual Reality Investment Coin (VIC) on: January 30, 2019, 05:21:02 PM
Let me see if I get this...

700,000,000 coins PREMINED.

POW reward is .1 - one-tenth - 1/10 of a coin? And POW over in 2000 blocks?  That means a total of 200 coins will be MINEABLE?

Gall ain't just a bladder in my gut.

Let's do the math...

PRUX is selling for about 1800 sats - call that .06 USD.

TOTAL daily mining for the ENTIRE NETWORK adds less than 3 USD to market cap.

Oh, yeah.... where do I sign up?

Not quite enough information to get started...

Which chain do we download before running the CLI wallet command?  Do we do that with the Agama GUI wallet?

Running the command 'komodo-cli -ac_name=ZEX setgenerate true -1' returns a missing komodo.conf error...

What should the komodo.conf file consist of?  I already have such a file for the Agama Veruscoin wallet...

54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BITCOIN LE - NEW COIN - Ecological Bitcoin - PoW & Low Energy on: October 28, 2018, 08:04:05 PM
It seems to me ASIC for this coin at the moment is simply not profitable to produce. Existing devices need time to gain full power - they are constantly in operation. Even if you release a special firmware, the energy costs will be large or the device will not be able to gain full power. For this purpose it is necessary that first of all it was economically profitable. But for the GPU I think will make the miner in the end.

I would much rather it end up as a GPU mining coin, as I have gpu rigs not Asics.  I just am unsure of the technical requirements behind ASICs and if you could make them abide by the metronomes rest period. If it will take adieionao hardware development then yes we are probably a ways away from anything if that nature

There are Sha256 miners that run on GPU's.  Someone just needs to recode one to respond to the metronome and to then use the last BTC blockhash to appropriately submit the solution.  Right now all that GPU miners do is spam the pool with useless garbage.  That is why the whitelist is necessary at this point.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XMG] MAGI | CPU mining | mPoW | mPoS | [MagiPay] on: October 27, 2018, 10:32:33 PM
The price just keeps tanking, not looking good at all.   Anyone recommend a profitable coin to mine now?

At the moment I don't think there is a CPU coin worth mining Sad

There are two actually...

Veruscoin - Also a GPU coin, but a solid Ryzen 7 2700 is almost the equivalent of an Nvidia 1060. VRSC.

And...

Bitcoin LE - purely a CPU coin.  This is an interesting coin that has a very different concept. BLE.  This project uses a timing mechanism that is triggered and based on the last BTC blockhash.  The BLE miner runs until it solves the block based upon a 30 second solution... then the miner sleeps until the next BTC blockhash.  Can be tricky to set up, but an interesting project.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BITCOIN LE - NEW COIN - Ecological Bitcoin - PoW & Low Energy on: October 27, 2018, 05:06:20 PM
I just thought of a good way to describe what is going on with this project...

Every other cryptocurrency involves miner who constantly hash away at the block until it is solved.  The miners never stop expending effort and run 100% of the time until a block is found, then immediately start crunching away at the next block.  The block time is targeted in order to control the amount of coins being mined.

This is like having a horse race in which every horse is a miner, and the track's length is the block time.  For the sake of simplicity, let's say the track is 1 mile long (I know... no such race track exists).  The minute a miner puts his 'horse' on the track, it runs as fast as it can until ONE of the horses wins, then the horses are immediately teleported to the starting gate where they instantly start another 1 mile race - then over and over again.  The horses never stop.  Never.  This is Bitcoin.

BLE is different.  The BLE track is 1/20 of a mile long.  This track is running in conjunction with the Bitcoin track just down the road, but this is how it works...

1. The races are programmed to START at the same starting pistol.  When the Bitcoin horses leave their gates, the BLE horses leave theirs at the same time.

2. However, the BLE horses only have 1/20 of a mile to go.  As soon as one of the BLE horses wins, the other horses get to walk back to the starting gate, get washed off, and wait in the starting gate for the start of the next Bitcoin race.

3. Because their track is shorter (a 30 second block solve time target = 1/20 mile as compared to Bitcoin's 1 mile race), they finish and get to rest while the Bitcoin race continues.

4. It is still a race and there is still a winner, but there is less energy spent in the process.

Now... what is the dang Metronome thing?  Well... I would think of it as the starting pistol.  When Bitcoin SOLVES a block, the race instantly starts for both BTC and BLE to start hashing the next block.  Obviously, the BLE race will almost always finish way before the BTC race, statistically speaking.  Something has to tell the track down the road that it is time to start again and that is the Metronome - linked to the BTC solution of the last BTC block solved and incorporating part of the hash of the last block into the BLE solution to ensure that there is no cheating for a BLE solution.

Some are a bit confused about all of this because it is very very different than what we are used to seeing.  Even though the race is shorter for the BLE miners, mining strength still counts.  The race is every bit a legitimate - but it is time constrained to start and finish in a fraction of the time.  That is where the low energy is achieved.

Just in case you are wondering why people are posting their BLE addresses at the end of their posts... you need to visit the BLE Discord channel to learn what is going on...

Plus, you get to learn about something that is very new in the crypto world.

Not sure what you mean when you say built in miner.  There is no built in miner in the wallet, but there is a solo miner.  If you copied and pasted your .bat file, there are some issues with the way it is typed out...

minerd.exe-a sha256d-o stratum+tcp://blepool.com: 3337-u my address is p x
pause

should be

minerd.exe -a sha256d -o stratum+tcp://sha256.blepool.com:3337 -u JaaKBsBqLtfKCxgMGA58dxADHyomk7bQ5u -p x
pause

You are missing some spaces and have added a space.

Finally, head to the Discord channel and get in touch with Wolfie.  There have been some miners spamming the pool with GPU's that do NOT work with this coin at this time, but they DO create a headache for him.  So, he has started to white list those who are mining it.  You may not be on his white list.  This is not a particularly elegant or long range solution, but sort of a stop gap.

One last thought - make certain you have the metronome information sorted out.  You have to be configured to receive the 'beat' that tells your miner when to start hashing.

Head to the Discord if you have further trouble and be patient - this is very young.

People should give this a little time to develop.  This is BRAND NEW stuff.  This has NEVER been done before that I have heard of and it takes time to work out the wrinkles.

That said, with a mint rate of 7200 coins per day on average, there is very little supply being created and that alone means there could be significant value down the road for those who start mining TODAY.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I would even say, get your information here, but seek out the community around the project for getting links. It is easy for one rogue anal sphincter to post a fake ANN thread.  It is another thing altogether for such a lazy person to create a Discord channel and populate it with dozens of accounts to fake a community.

And, in the case of a WALLET, I would put more trust in anti-virus alerts.  Had I not ignored my alert I would still have my RVN all nice and cozy in their nest.
