42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's up with the need for tBTC? on: July 13, 2020, 05:06:47 PM
I don't know what is tBTC but after few minute to do research, I know it is testnet bitcoin.

I am confusing and don't know which wallet is the lightest and best wallets to use testnet bitcoin. Would you mind helping me to choose the lightest wallet for tBTC? My laptop does not have too much free storage space.

usually you spin the core and/or electrum, depends on your needs. current testnet generation (v3) is around 25GB in size.

44  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Brave browser hijacking links and affiliate codes! on: June 17, 2020, 06:11:20 AM
Yea for real privacy Tor or Firefox with good settings is  probably better.

Brave just do for BAT - if I am using browser, might  as well get paid

not for privacy directly, but for for blocking unwanted/ad traffic - pi-hole is the best.
45  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Brave browser hijacking links and affiliate codes! on: June 08, 2020, 07:32:41 PM
This article shows tweets where the team claims that they have fixed the affiliate links and redirecting issues.
https://www.publish0x.com/everything-cryptocurrency2/brave-browser-is-tracking-you-and-35089877-is-the-proof-upda-xjjodjn?a=joQeZJepZV&tid=htacc

But the author also stated that Brave has some sort of whitelist that allows certain websites to place tracking cookies on a users device. They were not transparent about that either.

They've lost the credibility and I tend to believe those "issues" were not added there by mistake. It was just one of the most visible of their actions (after the KYC though). So I'm not surprised they may have other surprises here and there...

They admit that they are not perfect and they will correct or already corrected it, I will just retain them and give them a chance,I am receiving ads now coming from Brave so let's see but if they intentionally do this again, users will not forgive them and may lead to deletion of their browser, even if they are giving people free bat from their ads.

you mean until they got caught again?

47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN AS A DIGITAL GOLD on: June 06, 2020, 04:17:36 PM
Bitcoin cannot replace the value of gold since.
Gold continue to increase its value every now while bitcoin depends on the demand of its users/ investors.

But to think that gold has unlimited supply - it is a big NO because why that the price of gold increases if it has unlimited supply? Come to think the law of demand and supply and your will realize.

~

But some people appreciate the value of bitcoin as gold - we can not deny that, it's their own perspective.

because:
Code:
Gold is thought to have been produced in supernova nucleosynthesis, and from the collision of neutron stars,[47] and to have been present in the dust from which the Solar System formed.[

48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN AS A DIGITAL GOLD on: June 06, 2020, 01:17:55 AM
Bitcoin is a digital gold, yes it is really good thing for the positive side. It is world's first decentralized virtual currency nobody control them, this is a miracle in the electronic and human industry, demand is more and supply is less.

technically its not, since theres no way you can increase the reserve of gold. bitcoin tho allows removing the cap if consensus is reached

i am not mentioning that gold is also has unlimited cap - its timing is on way different range than 10 minutes
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN AS A DIGITAL GOLD on: June 03, 2020, 01:11:45 AM
Bitcoin is not the digital gold but there's literally a project that is a digital gold:

check this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5161544

I am looking to that project for a while and I think they are the best to give if someone is asking for digital gold. They are cryptocurrency that is backed by gold and the price is sync with the price of the gold itself.

Bitcoin can't be the digital gold since bitcoin is backed by nothing! Bitcoin is just existing because of the supply and demand and that's enough for bitcoin to be called as "cryptocurrency"  Wink

backed by nothing?? oof thats a bought account right here

is this coin still alive? This coin is traded on CREX24 for 5 sat and is there no other exchange place besides there? the team should place this coin in a proper place and make people comfortable to trade. CREX24 is not a good exchange place and if there is still progress then I will try to buy this coin. you must provide more updates again of your project.

aricoin will be expanding its scope over the next months, substantial changes to its protocol are planned this spring, so rejoice, my son. Whats coming has not been announced yet but I got a premonition that its gonna be something related to how youtube rewards its contents publishers. u got it right, aricoin could be adopted by youtube as a default reward token. time to lose ur shit from happiness.

ahahaha you saying so because of Aricoin' great performance??))) https://github.com/AricoinCurrency/Aricoin 20 commits in 2 years and pre .12 codebase - o man that shit is definitely gonna flagship youtube ahahahah

Id say over 95% of cex data reported is fake https://www.theblockcrypto.com/genesis/24878/up-to-86-of-total-reported-cryptocurrency-trading-volume-is-likely-fake-according-to-analysis-of-exchange-website-visits
another question - how big is the offset for all that fake meta

60  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 2FA HW security keys, Yubikey&such. on: April 10, 2020, 07:54:21 PM

theres also new keys with fido2 https://www.yubico.com/products/security-key/

In fact the latest security keys are from the fifth family which is the most advanced among all similar products including those that belong to other brands. I would not recommend to buy Yubico keys belonging to the previous series  due to the  flaws found in their design. DYOR. Below are a few sources for  your start.

https://www.csoonline.com/article/2914645/security-flaw-allows-pin-bypass-in-yubikey-neo.html

https://nakedsecurity.sophos.com/2019/06/17/yubico-recalls-fips-yubikey-tokens-after-flaw-found/

When you see something like that theres always a thought "well this one is reported, but what if other ones just not yet"  Grin but they probably done full revision of all current lineup
