Looks like RockMiner released new Firmware.  You can control the frequency via the built-in Web GUI

45  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: July 05, 2014, 08:36:01 AM
You can just use the same worker on 2 S3.  btcguild or even eligius, you can do that!!

is there anyway to group two s3's together as the one mining pool username? will this be better as you can up the difficulty of your worker or pointless?
46  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: July 05, 2014, 06:32:03 AM
S3 is a lot less noise from the fan!!

If you have a server closet I'd bet the noise would blend in but if its anything like the s1 an open office is not an option. The s1 is like an office laser printer continuously printing so if you have office mates they may get peeved real fast.
47  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: July 05, 2014, 06:30:40 AM
Bitmain only sells at http://www.bitmaintech.com  Ebay, Amazon, craigslist, backpages, any other online local sales page, those are all done by someone who is reselling Bitcoin Miners!

Good Luck!!

Hi Community

I am new to bitcoin mining and want to order the S3 myself, I have a Radeon 5970 and after reading the threads see it is pointless to Bitcoin mine with it (Delivers 320mh/s).

Can anyone confirm if seller bitmain.antminer on ebay showing the item location/factory based in Shenzhen China is  Bitmaintech.

Is £361 the reduced price? I notice there are two Antminer S3's for sale but for two different prices.

Many thanks for your time and all keep up the good work. I hope bitcoin sustains and changes things in this world

48  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: FS: 4U Antminer S1 8 blades case (possibly S3 as well, pending specs) on: July 05, 2014, 12:52:33 AM
WOW!  Nice Looking!  where do you ship from?

PM sent!!

This pics below are of a prototype, it is made with thinner material, lacking some holes, and is put together with various fasteners to minimize cost of fabrication.

Final product will look similar, pending the number of units that will be produced.

Once I have at least 10 paid orders I will put this into production.

I will post the price shortly, working on few quotes.

Fabrication time approximately 10-14 days.

Please reply here, PM or email me with any questions. {alexdotshchipkovatgmaildotcom}

I can design and fabricate whatever configuration that's desired, non rack mount, 120 fans in back, 80 fans all over, 140 fans in front, box for blades only with no PSU, more than 8 blades etc. etc.
Minimum order for custom designs is 15 units.

It is possible to get 10 blades in 4U case but that will require modifying the heatsinks, which might be great for underclocked units.
18 blades in 7U case is possible without heatsink mod.

Here are some pics:
(if pics don't show properly they are here:)

Having blades in this case dropped temps by 10 degrees C on overclocked S1s.

If you have Amazon price...  I think this is the best route...

110V and you can plug into the wall outlet

Hello!  Today I received a new Rockminer R-Box, but I don't have a power supply for it.  Instead of spending another 10 dollars and ordering yet another power supply, I did manage to find something that may or may not work.  I know this might be a silly question, but I don't know a whole lot about power supplies and such, but here it goes: The Rockminer requires 4 amp, 12 volt, 45 watt power supply.  I managed to find a 16 volt 4 amp power supply.  Would this just break the device or would it work?  Thanks!

S3 Web GUI is in English!!!

I saw a post that the bitmain software is in Chinese, will the S3 have an English option?
I hope so because Ni Hao, Kai-Lan only takes me so far Smiley

52  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Help with Antminer S1 on: July 02, 2014, 09:30:02 PM
You might want to use the native wi-fi option built into the S1, as some units are not stable that way.  But in this post, I posted the alternative.  You can use Wifi Bridge to make S1 think it is connected to the Ethernet.  And this works.

Hello, i need some help setting up Wi-Fi with an antminer S1.

I have 2 wifi antennas that came with my TP-link wifi card for my PC, and i want to use 1 of them to use on the antminer, would it fit or would i need some special adapter.

Thanks
53  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Looking for an enclosure for the s3 antminers any suggestions? on: July 02, 2014, 09:24:31 PM
You mean the enclosure like cabinet rack?  or are you talking about casing to cover it over?

Antminer itself now has the cover

if you are into rack, you can use standard rack with shelvings and you can dense them really well without worry about damaging the hashing cards or the control card as S3's components are now completely covered in the retail metal casing.

If you are planning to use the enclosed rack cabinet, you might want to make sure you can push/freshout the hot air from ants.  I'm sure S3 will be the space heater like S1.

P.S: The photo came from CoinDesk.com - http://www.coindesk.com/bitmain-releases-energy-efficient-478ghs-antminer-s3/

I'm browsing around just ordered 10 of the S3's and looking for a enclosure for em anyone got any good ideas ?

got update from warranty...

1 control was misconfigured item, the 2nd one had functioning control card but the wi-fi antena connector was fallen off, and the replacement was sent out and you should have received them.

Hi Sushi,

I emailed you and BITMAIN about RMAs on control boards and have yet to hear back from you regarding the status after I sent you the tracking numbers for sent boards. I was wondering if you could please give me an update on the RMA status and how the process is going. I have not heard back from you via email in 7 days (March 8th) and put in the RMA request 14 days ago (March 2nd).

I was wondering if you had any status updates for the control boards, as I have had two S1s that are inoperable because of the missing control boards sent in for RMA. Please let me know if there is any progress regarding the RMA process, or the loss in proceeds from offline miners.

Thanks.
