I don't agree with the top 500, it's not wise. Even if the project is in top 100, it doesn't guarantee the project to be successful. And I would definitely choose some old project, not the new one. The project that has solid team, ready product and of course stable trading volume.
Old projects have big hopes in the future but if the team can manage their projects correctly, new projects are quite risky especially because many incidents of fraud and token projects are difficult to develop, and some of the points you said I think the answer is bitcoin, yes I fully agree that investing safely uses bitcoin. Many projects already death. More than 650 projects not have one single code last one year. There are also many old projects already that, many projects people not remember them anymore. I am thinking that invest on IEO projects are the safest way of investment as exchanges are in control of the project. The very best of the cryptocurrency projects are difficult to discover this days ,either from the initial coin offering or other fundraising models like the IEO ,to discover ventures that outrageously mean business is hard ,many case to have something they would offer crypto world yet after they arrive hands on the supports they start lingering behind and deferring superfluous advances.

Because of many scam ICOs, many people lost belief to crypto. Many people ran out of crypto. And agree with you, IEOs are good and secure way of investment. Locked yourself at shitcoin really bad experience. You see cheap BTC, ETH etc. but you can not buy them because you put all you money a shitcoin and you are at 40%loss. I was thinking the same way. Locked at around 15 shitcoins. Waited patiently and my loss become 50%..than 60%. Nothing new. Its common drop at some coins. Many coins are still green. ETH made good startup after sudden crush a few days ago. Just resting as I see. When compare the other coins, still it is one of the strongest one. ETH 2.0 will keep awake till end of the year I think. Patience is really important here and we all know that. Some are saying they should dump their tokens in some exchange because it is shit coin or what but for me as long as market is good there nothing else to worry about because downfall is normal here. We should wait for the right time that the market recovers and so that we can trade or buy in a good way. We are really tested by the volatility of the crypto itself. We should be used to that and just chill and continue to support cryptocurrency as it recovers from dumping.
Some people mix the strategy “being patience” and “not using stop loss” Patience is good at bull market. At bull market you can jump on a coin from top and that it can go accumulation period. And after accumulation it will increase the TOP. If you be not patient and sell your coin at accumulation stage you will start to say “I sold Coin pumped”. If you hold the coin and waiting accumulation completed you can sell the coin in profit. But, If we are in a bear market, and if you think “patience is the key” you can lose all your fund slowly. At bear market using Stop Loss is necessary for reducing the risks. Bullrun has been started since bitcoin hit its ATH this year but it is so sad that altcoins are not following. Maybe if BTC will stabilize for couple of weeks. It will an alt season coming how ever if btc will slide and will fall below 10k,we are doomed. And only strong ones will survive.
Yep, it was a Bull run for from 3.2K to 14K. By the way it was a suffering story for alt coins. Alt coins crushed both when BTC is increasing and decreasing. Even when BTC was stable, alt coins crushed. Strong coins like ETH, LTC BNB etc crushed…and other coins death. There is still hope at the market. Market conditions always changing. From Q1 for 2018 to present time we see that market conditions changes as BTC not give permission to enter bull rally process. I am never invest in Litecoin. I am more prefer to invest in ETH because for me ETH is is my first investment since first i knew crypto world and i am never interestd to invesy in Litecoin.
Both ETH and LTC are the strongest coins at the market. Top 10 Ranked coins very long time. If I must choose one of them, I will choose ETH for sure. There is just no one will keep buying ETH anymore to make its price of up if all investors who bought ETH while the price was less than $1 are selling them to quit now that they knew its not going to survive the competition due to the newer platforms that are just scalable than ETH. The platform is just going to die because of a bigger project like EOS and TRX.
I personally don't see the ethereum platform demise coming anytime soon. The bearish trend on the market is general as both bitcoin and a substantial number of altcoin has been hit and ethereum happens to be one of the altcoin that is declining like others. I believe that the market would recover before long and ethereum would join bitcoin in the uptrend. We see ETH 85 USD as all time low after bear market. A journey from 1,400 USD to 85 USD. After 85 USD forces 360 USD and now trading around 174 USD. Almost 2X from all time low. But far far away from all time high value 1,400 USD. This is crypto, everything is possible, so ETH can go back more depending on the market conditions. LTC is strong coin, always at TOP 10. By the way market conditions are very different from 2017. If market conditions of 2017 go no at 2018 and 2019, it would be possible LTC hit 500 USD.
Long bear market completely change the conditions. BTC price going up, alt coins down. BTC price going down, alt coins going down. BTC price stable, altcoins going down.
During halving LTC just could go to around 140 USD at new market conditions and now 56 USD.

if I think personally a safe way to invest in cryptocurrency is :
1. the project runs according to the roadmap and whitepaper that has been made;
2. cryptocurrency that we invest in already has a product;
3. the team always updates about the progress that is happening in the project that we invest;
4. invest in project that are in the top 1-500 in coinmarketpcap (have a high volume);
5. the project we want to invest has been running for a long time (if I personally never invested in a new project), because investing in new project has a greater risk than we invest in old project.
Totally agree with my friends. There are many scam projects at TOP 500. It will not be safe and wisely to invest at TOP 500. If you are looking for a safe investment it is better to focus TOP 30. If you want to be at more safe side, than focus on TOP 20. If you want to be stay completely at safe side just focus on TOP 10. By the way there is no completely SAFE side at crypto.
