41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the view of an average citizen About crypto currencies on: January 30, 2024, 06:23:27 AM

Bitcoin is a digital currency that has come to stay, as long as the internet stays , most persons that didn't believe in Bitcoin 10years ago regretted it, that will be also be the case for people who don't be in it now come 2034.so think positively take the risk and Investment in Bitcoin today.
Despite the positive output of Bitcoin, many people are still not yet convinced and always think it was a scam or a Ponzi Scheme. But no urge the change their mind nor I would say they will regret it because that was their views and market opinion as well. Once a person is negative, it is hard for them to change but rather stay against it.

Although Bitcoin is popular now, it is not enough to drag people's attention. It is to say that those who want to invest will invest but those who are not are free to leave negative comments.

We can't blame them, although bitcoin has had certain achievements, it is still a highly volatile asset, susceptible to price manipulation. So, for those who prefer safety, bitcoin is clearly not their choice. If you notice, most people who invest in bitcoin are people willing to take risks, people who want to get rich with little capital, get rich quickly...As for those who have become rich, it is understandable that they have no reason to risk investing in bitcoin.
People who are rich enough don't prefer to take risks with bitcoin because the volatility could make a huge difference in their net worth. As said, bitcoin is much preferred by the common people who live with their daily earnings and by people who want to move to the next level of living. When we want to achieve something, we need to sacrifice as well as have the ability to take risks. This way, bitcoin has turned out to be a favorite of more common people than rich ones.

Compared to the past, people are much more aware of bitcoin. I've explained to people about bitcoin years ago, and none had any idea about it. Now people who don't have much knowledge about technology and smart development are also aware of cryptocurrencies, which is real progress.
42  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: January 21, 2024, 11:59:17 PM
Cashing out too early is not such a terrible thing.  Yeah sometimes it sucks because ypu could win more but it's always OK to book some sort of profit.  For the most part the problem people face is that they keep letting it ride so they never end up winning anything.  It's always better to win a dollar than to lose a hundred dollars
A win is better than a loss. In that aspect, whether we cash out or have patience, we should look into the better part. Just think of losing the same bet. So this is all about the situation, and once a decision is made and the same has brought us victory, we shouldn't feel bad about it later. People are greedy, and they want success at the shortest possible time, which isn't possible for everyone. Some people are lucky enough to enjoy the best out of gambling, and the same shouldn't be expected to take place for everyone.

ZImbabwe vs Sri Lanka

The second T20 match of the Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe series will be played today. The first match was very competitive. Zimbabwe set a target of 144 runs, although the target was not big as the performance of the Sri Lankan players was erratic, so the team faced big problems to win this match. They had to wait till the last ball to win the match. And I would say Sri Lanka were very lucky to beat Zimbabwe in the first match.

Today's match is expected to be very competitive. If the Zimbabwean players are confident, I think they can beat Sri Lanka. However, the bowlers must perform well. The performance of the batsmen of both the teams is quite erratic.
Someone from Zimbabwe needs to stand strong and make big score, it can on chasing or it can be batting first. Only then it is possible to compete with Sri Lanka. Already Sri Lanka will have its home ground support, if Zimbabwe were able to score 180+ runs batting first then they might have a chance to win after hard fight.
44  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto investment vs real estate investment : Which one more dependable? on: January 15, 2024, 11:47:50 PM
When we talk of investment, there'll be risk. With cryptocurrency we can't be precise of the time period to book our profit whereas with real estate the market used to be on an average level based on the property. This makes real estate better than cryptocurrency for people who had used to it. For people who had well used the cryptocurrencies create the mentality to hold a enjoy profit. Maybe it takes time, but the profit used to be much higher than that of the real estate.
45  Economy / Economics / Re: Imagine African countries using Bitcoin to pay salaries, on: January 15, 2024, 11:44:13 PM
African countries are much into the usage of cryptocurrencies as their national currencies have dropped value due to inflation. It is very common to see the bitcoin and cryptocurrency acceptance in few African countries. This show the increasing adoption of cryptocurrency. Look at El Salvador, initially everything was opposed and the government stood strong and now they're making the best out of the decision.
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as P2P currency vs Bitcoin as an asset on: January 15, 2024, 11:21:20 PM
Because in the country where I live, Bitcoin is only allowed as an investment or asset, so I do it according to the rules determined by my country.
But that doesn't mean I can't use Bitcoin as a p2p payment tool. And I also use it personally or individually among fellow Bitcoin users when I need something that is out of reach, and also sometimes unexpected things happen and I have to use it for transactions.
So I use both, because in the country where I live there are no shops or traders who use Bitcoin transactions because of the regulations, so I prefer Bitcoin as an investment or asset because it is more promising in terms of profits and storing value.
Usage as P2P currency is very high limited and this will increase only when there is universal acceptance. We can't expect it to happen in the short or in the long run. For now the growth of Bitcoin is tremendous and the same makes people consider it an investment than currency. People doesn't go in search of places and spend. On the go if there is some place that accept bitcoin, they just use it to keep the circulation market of real time usage. This also helps in the betterment of the market.
47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would it be like owning a Bitcoin in 2024? on: January 15, 2024, 11:15:17 PM
Owing some amount of Bitcoin right now is not only about the profit making but also a hedge against inflation, if you check, many countries fiat currency is tanking at the moment due to the rising inflation while Bitcoin has been in increasing in price lately, Therefore, it another considerable benefit for every individual or institutional investor in space right now, don't look at how high the price is before one starts to buying, Bitcoin would even double or triple in value in the coming months and years as institutional adoption is skyrocketing lately.
This is the fact. Bitcoin serves as hedge against the paper money that have been losing value due to inflation. Prioritising bitcoin investment will help people to be on the safe side. However while holding bitcoin we should also have fiat currency, because bitcoin too is volatile by nature and when we're in need if the market is bearish we'll experience loss. Accumulating as much possible is good, and the same needs to be done at the right time. Considering the halving it is right time to invest.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON is bad coin, here is why on: January 14, 2024, 08:32:53 PM
Without something good in tron coin, it is really impossible to get hold of the same position in the coin market cap amidst the existence of more new projects in the market. There is not much advancement and technology improvement, but it has its usage with its existing technology. Maybe in terms of growth it is a failed one; in terms of usage, it is one of the strong coins that could bounce anytime. Being a low-priced coin, it serves as a good investment pick among the top cryptocurrencies. Not many like this, and I'm sure at any point, this won't make a person lose.
49  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who does gambling addiction affect the most? on: January 14, 2024, 08:25:09 PM
~

That's true. it's difficult to witness a family member facing such challenges. A family member dealing with a gambling addiction is something that becomes hard to conceal. Eventually, the person exhibits this behavior to those around them, and it becomes noticeable. If the habit intensifies, the community might struggle to accept it, leading to discrimination against the family.

People tend to generalize, thinking all family members share the same traits. As they say, "a fruit does not fall far from the tree," From this you will notice that if an important member of a family gets addict it will affect his family members also negatively.
People used to feel pity for one person's loss, but the same person will be backmouthing bad things about the family and the gambler. This is common, and these people naturally have these habits. A gambler who is already at a loss, and if he comes to know about people talking badly about his family because of his activities, it will surely make him more painful. Some find it really hard to come out of such a situation. Initially, the gambler will be affected mentally and financially. The impact slowly transforms into a family. Before this happens, if the gambler realizes himself and becomes responsible, it is good.
50  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 14, 2024, 08:14:49 PM
Team India really needs Virat, no matter how much we talk about emerging stars, at the end of the day it is Virat Kohli who has to take the lead in the match. If Team India is to do well in the T20I world cup, Virat Kohli must be in the team and BCCI is aware of this, so they are doing team combinations from now on. Virat Kohli's performances in the last T20I world cup were very commendable, I hope Virat Kohli will do well in this world cup too, for which he will prepare from now.

I don't agree with your viewpoint. Virat Kohli is 35 years old, and he may be able to play prime cricket only for another 2-3 years. So this is the optimal time for the selectors to look for alternatives. And T20I should be the format they should start with. Replacing Virat in the ODI and test squad is going to be much more difficult. And also, at this age I don't think that it will be right for Virat to play in all the three formats. He should focus on the test format in my opinion, irrespective of whether he wants to do that or not.
Your point of view is also correct, but Virat Kohli can be considered by the selectors for the next T20I worldcup as they have to look at experienced players along with young players. It is true that Virat Kohli has been performing well in ODI, Test cricket and he has been playing very good cricket in this format but his performance in T20Is too is not bad at all. I am actually expecting to see Virat Kohli in the T20I worldcup squad.
Virat Kohli is a much-needed player for India in all formats of cricket. The selection committee will surely add his name to the T20 World Cup squad. He's 35, but his performance is equal to that of the young players getting into the squad. Even in today's match, Jaiswal, who is a young player, had a strike rate of 200, and Virat Kohli had an 181.25 strike rate, scoring 29 runs. He's not a player who has fans within the country or within a few cricket-playing nations. He's placed on the favorite player list worldwide.
51  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be worried or comfortable seeing your elderly mother gambling? on: January 14, 2024, 07:59:32 PM
As long as she is using her hard-earned money or her retirement money received as a pension periodically, I'm not worried about it. It is her money, and she has all the rights to enjoy her life as she wants. It is my responsibility to provide her with food, clothing, and shelter. If she is a responsible gambler and has limits, then it is really great, as the loss won't hurt the family or friends at any point. I'll try to educate her and help her understand what real gambling is.

55  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you regret also for ever knowing about gambling? on: December 10, 2023, 11:37:38 PM
Many times I've felt bad/regret of getting into gambling. I never blame anyone, because myself got into gambling. I could've been free from debts, if I hadn't gambled/known about gambling. Now things have changed and I wasn't unable to end a day without gambling. Considering the past days now I've changed alot and never try to gamble beyond my ability. The debt caused out of gambling is big and the same keeps me running to have my life on the track.
56  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you deal with high transaction fee on BTC on gambling? on: December 10, 2023, 11:32:31 PM
Have you noticed, that some casinos are very conservative about withdrawal cost of Bitcoin? Even though Bitcoin transaction fees are still expensive, or we could say higher than they were week or months ago, not some casinos have changed their withdrawal policy.

For example I want to deposit 0.001 BTC, that is around $44. Today, on December 10, using ledger live, it would cost me $59. $44 + 242sat/byte fee. All setting as app offers me. That is "slow" transaction. While if I would withdraw 0.001 BTC from casino, they would charge me with 0.000075 BTC for a slow withdrawal that might last for 24h. Casinos still use their old withdrawal fees.
That's true, but in gambling industry it won't be good if we were allowed to spend much on fee. When it comes to withdrawal most of the platforms provide the fixed fee unlike the situation network congestion. At Times we will experience delay in the confirmation of the transaction whereas majority of the transaction used to get confirmed at the shortest time.
57  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can old generation cause the habit of gambling in young generation ? on: December 10, 2023, 11:27:44 PM
There are some old people in my family which are paying cricket fantasy games. They usually talk about the games and their performance is matches almost daily. It is obvious that if any younger guy in family will listen about this, he will also be eager to know more about this. How can I stop the younger generation in my family being carried away by this and focus on other important things like studies only ?

For the most part just keep them away from the conversations.  If it's within your own family just tell them to talk about gambling away from your kids.  And yeah if gambling is a heavy part of your family's culture it can definitely get them turned onto gambling themselves.  It's hard either way because of how much kids are exposed to everything because of the internet.
These days kids are more observing and easily grabs what we're discussing. As suggested having these kind of conversations away from kids is really good. Fantasy leagues have been more popular in my country and some people are lucky to win whereas the majority just spend like they're buying a lottery ticket. Surely young generation will follow the footprints, and they're much aware of these applications as they're openly promoted on televisions.
58  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever been a gambling addict? on: December 09, 2023, 11:59:39 PM
I was addicted and slowly I've come out of it. I've shared my story of losing big in gambling Be a Responsible Gambler. During those days I know I was losing, but I don't have control and lost big. Even today I was running hard for what I've lost, only then I can able to settle the debts and come out of financial issues.
59  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 09, 2023, 11:59:12 PM
Does any of feel behavioral change in you based on the win/loss in gambling.
Of course there is always a behavioral effects at everyone gamblers if it is not proven in a displacement then it is one of the facial expressions.
There is always joy in the heart that sometimes not easy enough to hold within and must just have to express it out even til across your endings as long you still holdings your winning. There is said to be tendencies of cheerful giveaway out of excessive excitement but sometimes it depends how much won at when considering if there had been previous lost or not.
But If it was a lost, then everyone becomes a bridge to your progress and then, there is really no called of tolerating and joking around because you are feeling depressed and losts in your gambling. You just have to get pissed on everyone who fails to understand your state of being and wouldn't care if anyone knows about your emotions.
However, there is always that transagression of anger at when lost and that sharing of excitements at when won.
Dependently on the gamblers ability to control its emotions.
We often forget the delicate line between excitement and sadness when we play gambling. Winning makes us happy; its natural. Gamblers often lash out in frustration when losses pile up. Isnt it ironic how rapidly gambling feelings change? You can be on top of the world and in despair in an instant.

This emotional rollercoaster emphasizes gambling self-control. Not how much you win or lose, but how you handle it. Responsible gambling is a mindset, not a buzzword. Gambling is amusement, not life. The ultimate win in gambling is staying calm and not letting wins or losses affect you. How you play your cards is just as important as the cards you're dealt.

unfortunately, most degens don't have that kind of self-control. this is why they got to the degen stage. if you are a player and would want to stay within your limits, then better be do some reality check about your financials. frequent assessment of yourself in front of your games would be a very good activity to check on yourself.
Regular financial assessment as well as making self analysis about our gambling activities is really good way to be on the safer side and overcome the gambling addiction. When we make financial plans we'll know the limits on spending. Regularly trying to stay within our limits will make a change within our gambling activity.
60  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Women's Cricket Prediction & Discussion - T20 & ODI on: December 08, 2023, 11:59:44 PM
The second T20I match between India Women and England Women will be played tomorrow at the Wankhede. The first match ended in a rout for the Indian women and they need to quickly recover from it. In order to salvage the series, they need to win both the remaining matches. And a series defeat at home would be humiliating for the Indian women, especially after all the progress that was achieved over the years. Anyway, the good news for India is that their strike bowler Renuka Singh Thakur is back in form. She picked up 3 wickets in the first match.
I believe India could make a comeback in the second T20. In the first T20 England got two players Wyatt and Sciver-Brunt scoring 70+ runs. For India strong scoring came from Verma 52 runs. Few more players should've contributed big runs. Also 197 runs isn't easy to chase. India reached 159/6, and this time India might bat first trying to set good target whereas in the first T20 India women won the toss and decided to bowl.
