141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Low cost but effective solutions to gambling addiction on: October 15, 2023, 11:56:40 PM

Thinking about the situation like this alone can make a gambler become his own therapist because looking at the money which they need to pay to someone who will educate and guide them how to stop spending the same or larger amount that they are paying for such information it’s already a lesson learned the hard way for an addict.

Beside all this therapist they have been known for their good works and most of the time a higher percentage of their clients are always happy with the result they get at the end of the day but not all actually gets their desire result, which this can also make me wonder as it might also wonder those addicts that what if this don’t work for me and I really don’t need a therapist in other to reduce my gambling limit.

The therapy is not the complete solution for the gambling addict.
Therapy is one of the solution and the effectiveness lyes on the self acceptance of being addicted. Not many have the mind to accept they're addicted. For such people it is really hard to get out of addiction. Proper awareness from the government or the gambling platforms itself needs to be the right way to make people spend with limitations and stay away from addiction. When a gambling platform broadcast its add on Television, at the end it states about the financial risk in one or two seconds. Maybe same as the advertisement, if awareness is provided people will think twice before spending and the same could keep them on the safer side than getting addicted badly and looking for therapist.
142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble till old age or not on: October 15, 2023, 09:14:05 PM
What old age are you talking about if you continue to gamble? I asked this because, in the time we have now, most of the 50-year-olds have had feelings about their bodies or health.

Do you think that if an old person has feelings, they will still think about gambling? It seems that the former is not realistic if, for example, at the age of 60 and above, there are still many people who gamble. Is there anything else during this time? I don't want that to happen to me, and I don't plan to do that even as I get older. Although I know that the world of gambling has no age limit,
Myself too have the similar thoughts, but I don't know how good will be the situation. I'm not sure of my financial situation, health and I don't know how bad will be the addiction. Based on these factors would be the gambling. By those days we don't be thinking of spending time, because we won't get much time as we will be busy spending good time with our grand children.
143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: October 15, 2023, 06:03:18 PM
However, there is a match that is actually more interesting, namely Al Taawoun versus Al Ittihad which will be held in 5 days. Al Taawoun is now in 2nd place, while Al Ittihad is in 4th position behind Al Nassr. and what is certain is that both teams will both target full points to strengthen their position in the Saudi Pro League standings. Unfortunately, I have difficulty getting the latest information regarding the teams competing in this League. However, in terms of betting options, it seems that the bookies favor Al Ittihad in the meeting against Al Taawoun.

Even though this match is a home match for Al-Taawoun, it's true that the bookies still favor Al-Ittihad. Currently the odds on the 1X2 bet on Rollbit are:

[1] Al-Taawoun @4.9 | [X] Draw @4,1 | [2] Al-Ittihad @1,66

What's unique about this match is that even though the bookies are favorites with Al-Ittihad, in the last meeting between the two teams, Al-Ittihad lost with a score of Al-Taawoun 2 - 1 Al-Ittihad. I think the current odds might trap bettors, for me, it's better to avoid this match than to take a high risk.

Al-Ittihad and Al-Taawoun doesn't have much difference in the points. Odds were in support of Al-Ittihad, and Al-Taawoun could will surely give the high competence. Even in the previous encounter the odds were into Al-Ittihad and Al-Taawoun won the match. Al-Ittihad and Al-Nassr were the much discussed teams, but silently Al-Taawoun is moving towards the top. If Al-Taawoun win the upcoming match, then Al-Taawoun reaches the first position on the points table.
144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An agent is no where to be found. on: October 15, 2023, 05:48:43 AM
This is completely new to me. Countries where gambling is restricted, we can't see such shops for the purpose of gambling. This is kind of making the people's ignorance. Maybe in the future we won't encounter such issues happening around as people gets used to the gambling platforms and makes use of it. In my country during the IPL season we will be able to see more such agents working in the underground. Quite often government also runs raids and seize big money and arrest the agents. Whats been mentioned by OP also looks like similar incident and a police complaint might help in recovery the money and catch the fraud agent.
145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: October 14, 2023, 02:40:25 PM
The dominance of India continues in the world cup as well as against team Pakistan in World Cup history. With the win India records 8-0 win the World Cup Matches. Much expected match went as a one sided match as India wins the match by 7 wickets and 117 balls left. Shreyas Iyer ended the match with style reaching his half century. In today's match India bowlers were really good and the batting side as usual did the best. The performance from Rohit Sharma is appreciable and the much needed one while chasing targets. Pakistan bowlers tried the best, but with such a score it is really difficult for them. Another thing, more fielding mistakes happened and Pakistan needs to work on it. Based on the Net Runrate India have reached the top position on the points table.
146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Relying on gamble wins is dangerous to mental health on: October 13, 2023, 11:59:18 PM
First of all everyone should understand gambling is all about the choice. We don't know the outcome, and based on this we should not rely on gambling for our earnings. We can be lucky and unlucky, and at any instance we shouldn't spend big hoping for big. Gambling affects our life, and we should be limited. The problem that had happened with OP's friend is that he had big hope on gambling. This is completely wrong perception about gambling.

Everyone wants to be lucky and we shouldn't be driven by someone's choice or just someone next to us got lucky. Gambling is fun, when you know well about the after effects and know your limits. Not gambling, anything beyond limits gonna make us feel bad at some point.
147  Economy / Economics / Re: Agriculture vs oil on: October 13, 2023, 11:40:14 PM
Agriculture and oil are important for the economy. When we talk of the importance, agriculture is more important than oil and the related industry. Most countries lack infrastructure for agriculture, grown countries have better infrastructure. The combined GDP of the oil industry along with other forms of energy seems to be similar as that of the GDP of agriculture.

The oil price directly hits the agricultural industry. Cultivation isn't happening within particular region and distributed. The transportation and other means of expenses increase. This makes the food turn expensive and these days there are crude oil based fertilizers for the mass production. In some means both agriculture and oil have got connect and both are mutually needed.
148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often is your luck in gambling? on: October 13, 2023, 11:08:10 PM
We can't really say when our luck will come to us that's why if that happens, then take advantage of it.

I'm not that really unlucky when doing gambling but my winnings are not that can be considered a jackpot. What matters here is, that I continue winning over losing streak. If ever a huge jackpot finally comes to me, I will admit not to stop gambling but still in responsible act.

It's fine to continue gambling after winning a jackpot as long as the money is used in a proper way.
With most gamblers this used to be statement, we can't be sure on the luck we've got. With most of the users gambling statistics it is possible to see the number of wins higher than number of losses. However on the profit/loss calculation, gamblers will be on the losing side.

Whether the focus is on a jackpot or small winning, my priority used to be on limited spending and I don't hope for better days. If things need to happen good it could happen within the limited spending. I find this to be safe gambling than risking big money expecting jackpot and big wins. We should also have control on our gambling activity, because when we're on the winning streak we easily go for higher bets and loss easily. If we had control we could've stopped at the right time.
149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: October 13, 2023, 02:42:41 PM
Gambling at work is really bad and the access through smartphones have made gambling anywhere an easy thing. Most of the gamblers could've gambled from their workplace during the early days into gambling. Gambling in workplace affect the concentration and this will surely reflect on the performance.

Once I read a story in our forum, an user gambles his entire salary in a night and from the next day onwards he starts borrowing for his daily living. This guy even on winning never stops and goes for big, which finally ends up losing everything. At any situation such kind of gambling shouldn't happen. With gambling we should have the limitations and should know when to play. If not, this is gonna be real troublesome.
150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you ever feel tired of waiting? on: October 13, 2023, 02:12:11 PM
Maybe the users who make a regular earning out of trading or through some other means feel bored. For users who had come through the ups and downs of the market, the waiting is kind of excitement. Because we don't know when the market turns bullish and we don't know whether the price reached is the ATH value or it grows further.

For everyone who think waiting as a boredom could prefer to invest and forget it. In the history of bitcoin, many such incidents have taken place. They just invest and forgot it, after years unexpected encounter have profited them big.
151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: October 13, 2023, 12:25:58 PM
I can say that Bangladesh can score 220+ runs today. Which is not reliable for the victory of Bangladesh team.
With a big team like New Zealand, this meager collection of Bangladesh 225/9 might go to 230 is not enough. In this year's World Cup, if the target is more than 300 runs with the big teams, it may be a good competition, but collecting less than 250 runs is not enough for Bangladesh. So 100% chance of victory of New Zealand in today's match.
New Zealand is the favourite, even the 300+ runs are getting chased comfortable. An example is the New Zealand chasing against England. Bangladesh have played good, 245 runs in 50 overs against its early wicket loss of 56/4. Its time to see whether the Bangladesh team can do good with the bowling. Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim generated good partnership in the middle and Mahmudullah played a responsible innings at the end, if not wickets could've been lost much earlier.
152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: October 13, 2023, 09:32:22 AM
In most of the World Cup South Africa used to have the best squad, but they turn unlucky at the important time. In recent days after the performance from South Africa, more memes have begun to roll around and the funniest I came across is Semifinals were always a nightmare for South Africa. The two matches played by South Africa were really the best and with this form it can defeat any team, but we don't know how long it continues.

They won their first match against a relatively weak team (Sri Lanka). They won against Australia after that, but it was mainly due to their opponents playing poor cricket. Their total (311/7) was not that big, but then Australian top order collapsed to 70/6 as a result of some accurate bowling by Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen and Kagiso Rabada. And then it was the turn of Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi to mop up the proceedings. Hopefully they will be able to maintain this form through the remainder of the tournament.
Sri Lanka team is weak, but their performance isn't worse. Look at the average score at Ekana Sports City Ground, Lucknow. It is around 240 runs and what South Africa scored is really big considering the average. Australia top order collapsed, maybe that could've been managed by the middle order. In fielding the team is completely down dropping 6 catches. Maybe those catches would've changed the match in favour of Australia. South Africa is at its best and there is hope of consistent performance in this World Cup.

Hamas is targeting cryptocurrency wallets and Indian business man is already a victim. He had already lost half a million dollar to the cyber wings of Hamas. This had happened two years back and the Police had struggled to find the end users of the Wallets. By the time Israel intelligence agency have given list of suspected wallets. The security agencies of India had identified the stolen funds ended with the Wallets operated by the cyber terrorism wing of Hamas called al Qassam brigades. Though the incident took place long back, we need to be keeping things in a much secure manner.

154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: October 12, 2023, 11:59:50 PM

Things that will avoid them to have that curiosity about it, I like that example as it's true, whenever kids see things that adult are doing they will be interested to know what is all about, we can't deny the fact that when we are playing we forget about things around us, we should be responsible in anyhow so we will not develop any potential idea that might trigger that interest with the kids.

And yes, in case they still drive to that activity, talking and guiding them with the right sets of ideas will give them direction that will allow them to stop.

The gambling will give some curiousity to the children who do watch of the gambling which was played by their parents. When the gamblers play in the continuous way in front of the children, surely build some excitement to their children. The gamblers should be responsible in the gambling,So he can play in the bed room. When the kids using the Hall for play.
Agreed, during the childhood days they used to be curious to watch each and everything. Specifically they try each and everything we do. So, when they grow to the level of handling a smart device they might give a try. There are chances for this to happen. We should be careful with this kind of activities. Whether it is bedroom, living room, study room or whatever we should be very cautious with this. We shouldn't be the reason for our children to go into gambling. At some point if situation supports we should teach them good and bad about gambling same as we educate kids on good touch and bad touch.

All hail South Africa! Wow! I expected them to win, but I never in my wildest dreams expected them to launch a team like Australia into the stratosphere. They made a mockery out of the men in yellow.

It was hilarious watching Smith's expression when he was given out fair and square. Australia are in deep trouble currently.

After watching South Africa's two matches, I think this team has a good squad to win the World Cup this year. Especially their batting order is very strong. They batted well in both the matches. They played well against experienced Australian bowlers. But South Africa would not have been able to score 300+ runs if not for Australia's fielding. However, I feel South Africa's bowling is a bit weak. The performance of the bowlers against India will tell if their bowling attack is strong. India and South Africa have had the strongest performances so far. If this performance continues, these two teams will easily reach the semi-finals.
In most of the World Cup South Africa used to have the best squad, but they turn unlucky at the important time. Pakistan is at the second place in points table, after two consecutive wins. They won their first match against the Netherlands, and now they won against Sri Lanka as well. A few months back, they were one of the favorites to win the world cup. But a pathetic performance in the Asia Cup lowered their odds for world cup. I am OK with their batting as of now. But the bowling still needs a lot of improvement. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Hasan Ali and Haris Rauf are leaking too many runs and spinners like Shadab Khan are not managing to get wickets. The absence of Naseem is pretty obvious.
Pakistan bowling was predicted to be the best among the participating teams. Everything is against the prediction and not much of improvement happening with bowlers. Indian pitches are batting supportive and this will be additional pressure for the bowlers. Naseem Shah's absence is a big setback to the team. The replacement Hasan Ali had performed good taking 4 wickets, but the economy is not the best. In the match against Sri Lanka, the final 10 overs were under control, if not score could've reached atleast 370 runs which could've been pressure for Pakistan batting.
157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: October 11, 2023, 01:45:47 AM
Yes, but I think it is time to leave the space so that other promising younger player get the chance to play.

If Messi goes to the world cup, then they will definitely put him on the team, leaving the younger players with less experience.

I think it's his time to retire at the peak.

The only thing that I would say at this point is that Lionel Messi should take the decision without much delay. If he doesn't want to participate in North America 2026 (as a player), then he should inform this to the Argentine management at least by 2024, so that they have time to prepare. The coach (Lionel Scaloni) can try out a few combinations during the ongoing CONMEBOL qualifiers and that will give these younger players some real match experience rather than directly putting them to the line of fire during the 2026 tournament.
Early announcement will give the chance to try few combinations and keep the best for the World Cup. Popular players prefer to play until they're fit enough. For now he's good with his fitness, so they don't make announcement on taking rest without playing. The Qualifiers matches seems to be the right choice to understand teams, so that new combinations will easily get connected. Recently Ronaldo also made a twist on a question. Will you be seen in 2026 World Cup, he had said I can't project myself that far. Further added anything can happen, and now the focus is on Euro and later we'll see what happens.
158  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of Russian and Ukrain war on world economy on: October 11, 2023, 01:32:20 AM
Israel and Hamas have intensified the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which has not even begun. At this point, it is unclear how it will affect countries that are far away from the conflict. Could Israel and Hamas be to blame if fuel prices and prime commodities are quickly impacted even in Russia and Ukraine?

It's still unfortunate for the citizens of the aforementioned nations, though. How do they manage to survive there? Given the current state of the nation, the situation must be challenging, right?

Crude oil prices went up by 5% as soon as the information about Hamas attack was published. I don't understand this. Both Israel and Palestine are not among the top producers of crude oil. So why the prices went up? There is only a remote possibility that some of the crude producers such as Iran will get involved. This is like a double whammy for people like me. Here in India, we import close to 85%-90% of all the crude for our consumption. The rising cost of crude oil import is worsening the account deficit, and the inflation rate has gone up.

That's because the market is afraid that this conflict will turn into some kind of a regional war. Countries like Lebanon, Iran and Egypt can be easily dragged into this conflict any moment. The price of oil is already surging, and I really hope we won't see the price quadruple because of this conflict like in the 1970ies.
Countries around the world moving towards Electric Vehicles had been a big thing. This have cut the energy requirements and countries are into infrastructure development for the production of renewable energy sources to lower the dependence over oil. This won't let the price of oil increase to such a level as that happened past due to different wars. Most of the countries have taken the decision soon after the Ukraine-Russia war by which the sanctions caused the stop of oil supply to western countries. Many countries suffered much during those days and had taken it a learning.
159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you not gamble on women sports? (tennis not included) on: October 10, 2023, 11:36:49 PM
Women's events weren't watched much. Even with the men's matches we weren't able to predict the outcome perfectly. The outcomes used to go away from what we had predicted. With women's match this will be even worse as we need to select odds on random manner or go with the suggestions or the lower odds. Already gambling is risky, and making bets on matches we don't have any more understanding is much riskier. This seems to be the reason why we weren't able to see much users spending on women's matches.

Pakistan has successfully chased down the biggest total in the history of ODI World Cups against Sri Lanka in Hyderabad. Pakistan achieved the target of 345 runs in 48.2 overs.
Pakistan really surprised everyone and chased the historic runs chase which will really boost their moral and confidence for the next big match against India at Ahmedabad, no doubt it's totally flat pitch but they way the two guy dragged the inning from bottom to top was phenomenal because when you lose two of your best batter at really early stage, and you have such a mountain like target then it's really difficult to come back and fulfil the team needs without any hesitation and damage.
I think management should give more early chances to Shafiq rather than Fakhar because Fakhar is completely out of form from long time while shafiq is absolutely talented diamond and has ability to lead Pakistan out form and damage top order
This is their largest target chase, earlier it was against Ireland. The best performance was from Rizwan who played an excellent game out of the pain in the leg muscles. He understood that the match is going good, and walking to the pavilion as retired hurt might affect the match. Sri Lanka played really well, but they weren't able to defend as the bowling unit isn't good enough. We encountered the same in the previous match where South Africa scored 400+ runs.
