41  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Account stolen, please give negative trust to the accounts on: October 25, 2017, 05:08:47 AM
I was looking into the connection between TomatoCage / Mexxer / Mesmer and came across LoupGaroux as appearing to be an alt of TomatoCage etc http://archive.is/y2HWf#selection-7941.1-7941.40 through word usage.  I'd archive some of it, but then concentrated on the direct connection between TomatoCage and Mexxer / Mesmer etc. so did not finish off establishing a direct connection between LoupGaroux and TomatoCage.

*some* of those I was looking at included:

Wat, why am I on there?

Anyone else experience this, and more importantly did they overcome it?

For the time travellers; that sounds like dying PSU. My PSU in the T-110 died, I believe.

All time:

I would like to point out that many of my 'bad' reports were rejected by one contentious mod, and later unactioned malicious dox removal reports which eventually led to forum policy changes.
44  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Help with Exhaust/Vent/Cooling 13 Antminer S9s on: June 09, 2017, 09:29:32 PM
When i was a miner i just used a roof fan to expel the hot air out a window, was a cheap easy fix n worked great

Thanks, but there’s no window in the room I have my setup in! Do you have any other suggestions?

Roof fan to the ducts, the cfm of the fan is extreme so it'll push the air out, trust me

Putting the fan at the other end pulling air through will give you greater throughput, if you weren't already suggesting that.

Please somebody help me!!!

What name of this connectors and where can I buy it?

They don't have an easily identifiable name but they'll be readily availble on ebay under "9x2 pin pcb socket" or similar. Might have to play around with the keywords to find it.

What is your take on SPECTRE?
48  Other / Meta / Re: If theymos dies ? on: December 11, 2016, 02:30:04 PM
It's a pretty serious question , I know they are all (theymos,BadBear & Cyrus) administrators but I suppose only theymos have control on the domain , host and everything else. Same question should apply for Sirius (who I suppose controls Bitcoin.org).
If there are no plans If and when that happens , wouldn't that make us (the bitcoin community) in a bad situation ?

Depends whats in his will doesn't it? bitcointalk.org is a business.

Yeah pretty much, its not that difficult to transfer ownership of a domain on death.

What was this for?

That's how much it cost to rent the yacht out in the Bahamas for last year's Staff Christmas party.

Are you serious? Was that necessary...

No, he was being sarcastic.
50  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon A7 announced on: November 26, 2016, 04:43:54 AM
The more interesting thing is when I undervolted it to 4700mV, it seemed quite stable at 770W for about 10% less hashrate. Lower levels of voltage seemed to kill the hashrate or were unstable. I'll conduct more experiments in a couple of days when I'm not in offpeak electricity to see exactly what that undervolted hashrate is.

Avalon added intelligent auto overclocking/undervolting in the Avalon4 so you might be seeing the initial settings vs what the miner may have headed towards on its own. I have no idea on the time periods of adjustments but I'd assume they're measured in hours rather than minutes.
51  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S9 Setup [HD] on: November 24, 2016, 01:34:25 AM
Hello, I have a question about the Power supply for a S9 (batch 22). If I only have 220V in my house, is it okey if I just use another PSU, different than the one recommended by Bitmain, that can be used with 110V? If thats the case, do you have any recomendation? Thanks Smiley

Yes and EVGA 1600W Smiley
52  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive SpondooliesTech SP35 Setup [HD] on: November 24, 2016, 01:31:57 AM
Hi all,
i have a SP35 and i need the sd recovery image file to reset it, the official site is down does someone know where to download it ?
thanks !
JC

I don't know if I've ever seen an SP35 one or if it uses the generic SP3X. Someone else might know.

54  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Mining in the cold on: November 21, 2016, 02:14:22 AM
So to summarize others:

1. Yes its an issue
2. Condensation is a huge issue
3. Starting these miners up is going to be critical; starting from a cold start will probably end in disaster.
4. Your major issue is keeping the miner warm while mining - something that some Chinese farms had to contend with. Consider putting your miner in a box (upside down plastic container with some open spaces?) which will greenhouse the miner and its immediate environment up to a more pallet-able ambient.
5. Same for PSUs.
6. Only let your miners drink filtered air! You'll accumulate all sorts of garbage while mining outside.
55  Other / Meta / Re: New Global Moderator Election [Discussion] on: November 20, 2016, 12:28:11 AM
If theymos doesn't approve, he could simply not acknowledge the vote whatsoever and pick (or not pick) based on his own accord. It would be a let down, of course, but the vote will just be used to perhaps help in the decision.

This is the part that worries me because it's creating a default bias that unless Theymos objects that this should go through, which is the opposite order.
56  Other / Meta / Re: New Global Moderator Election [Discussion] on: November 19, 2016, 10:00:16 PM
This doesn't seem right at all. Public voting to establish moderation, public voting where everyone's votes are considered equal on a site with an alt to person ratio of probably 3x, AND without the authorisation or blessing of the decision maker.
57  Other / Meta / Re: [Interest Check] - User Rank 'Banned' on: November 18, 2016, 11:44:52 PM
Was there a conclusion on this? I am very much for the feature or at least a trial of it. If it doesn't feel right then we can discontinue it but otherwise there seems little reason not to implement it.
58  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Optiona is allways good. 16nm ASIC, 100w/THS 0.1J/GH on wall. MAX: 31THS/miner!! on: November 18, 2016, 11:43:03 PM
I do hope those long boards aren't arbitrarily connected or sharing comm lines, it'd really suck to have to RMA something of those dimensions and portion of your hashing power.
59  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Do you think Bitmain make better than 16nm in future? I think no. on: November 18, 2016, 05:54:36 PM
14nm to 10nm is a huge, huge gain again so eventually the benefits will outweigh the costs.
60  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon A7 announced on: November 17, 2016, 10:23:03 PM
I have 12 Avalon 6 hashing now. They are all controlled by one Rpi, will this controller still work on the Avalon 7s? Or do I have to buy their controller as well?

You only need to update the Software  Smiley
If you upgrade the software does it still run the A6?
Or, I should ask, can you run the A6 and A7 from the same Pi?

Good question, I guess yes
I'll check at the weekend

I also guess yes. We were always able to run older Avalons alongside current gen on the same controller and I'd be very surprised if they scrapped that legacy support.
