41  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Avalon 200GH vs Antminer 180-200-ish on: January 14, 2014, 06:36:31 AM
These products are all just stepping stones until the better rigs come out.

The devices shipping now will always be stepping stones. Most people would need to shut down their antminers around july (unless BTC price goes up big time). Maybe july/aug for jupiter...

These hashfast, new knc, etc r highly unlikely to survive well into 2015...
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technologies photos on: January 13, 2014, 04:07:51 PM
You're looking at the wrong building Smiley
It's the next block down the road

I blame this mistake on Google. Apologies.

Ignore previous rant.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technologies photos on: January 13, 2014, 03:59:49 PM
I declare.......

SCAM

The photo in the OP are highly out-dated, assuming they're not shopped. Any fuckin' idiot can do a Google Street Map search of 66 dickenson road, Manchester, and see that that entire corner building has been recently updated.

What the fuck are you talking about?

My friend took these pics an hour or so before i posted them here. I have nothing to do with alpha technology or scrypt asic, I dont even own a GPU mining rig. Just thought that since he was already passing by the place it would be nice to take some pics and let the community think of what they think.

Google maps : https://maps.google.com/maps?q=66+dickenson+road,+Manchester&ll=53.452256,-2.219968&spn=0.00099,0.00284&hnear=66+Dickenson+Rd,+Manchester+M14+5HF,+United+Kingdom&t=m&z=19&layer=c&cbll=53.452256,-2.219968&panoid=LMPfryFnak8qKHBjQp7P_g&cbp=12,175.58,,0,-2.46

They don't have the sign up when Google drove thru. Are you implying i photoshopped in the sign also?

jeez so much hate..
44  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Miners Boycot Ghash.io ! on: January 13, 2014, 09:09:33 AM

These guys say that a 25% pool is enough for an attack.

Were they proved wrong?

Those guys assume the 25% pool is extremely lucky during the attack...
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technologies photos on: January 13, 2014, 09:02:51 AM
Why prey tell did you check it out unannounced and not at least try and make an appointment so you could meet and greet and fire some unrehearsed Q's?

Because it wasnt me who took the pics..
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [WTS/WTB] [VTC] Vertcoin - tradin on: January 11, 2014, 08:47:27 PM

47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: January 11, 2014, 04:06:04 PM

Only 8 working nodes for me.

Are you allowing inbound connections?
the default MAX_OUTBOUND_CONNECTIONS is 8

Where I must do please in wallet to change that ? Can we increase bigger than 8 ?

Its a constant in net.cpp.. ud need to edit and recompile...  but pls dont do that just open your port to public and be good to the community.

50  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: January 11, 2014, 02:15:28 PM
Is it ok to run Ants on the balcony with below zero temps?

I'd be worried about condensation on the units, but I don't know for sure.

no condensation cause a working antminer will obviously be warmer than the ambient. Only issue is water droplets/snow flakes/dust being sucked into it...
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [WTS/WTB] [VTC] Vertcoin - tradin on: January 11, 2014, 01:27:10 PM
WTS 1000 VTC = 0.3 BTC
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: January 11, 2014, 10:43:05 AM
Excellent, smooth launch OP. Nice coin too - makes a change from all the clones recently. We should try to get the word out to non-miners about this, "the bitcoin you can mine on your ordinary computer".

Thats until someone adapts a GPU miner for it.... im sure some people have started already...
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: January 11, 2014, 10:29:05 AM

Guys that are up and running, pls share your nodelist. If more people connect to your ip, you have a lower risk of orphans.

I bid .00205 BTC with no escrow.

I bid 0.00206 BTC with no escrow... provided it ships in a first class passenger seat of an airline of my choosing... This is too precious to be lying in some cargo hold.
