401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest in an ICO? on: June 04, 2018, 02:58:59 PM
Good day fellow investors,

I have some spare eth and btcs and I am searching for an alternative way to invest, is ICO really worth it? and if it is, I heard there are scams, what can you recommend I should do?

Regards.

ICO is never a bad move but you need to consider a lot of things so that you will have security with your investments. You said it yourself that you've heard a lot of scams when it comes to ICO so I highly suggest that you find a coin or token to invest in which has a very good performance in the market. I can recommend some few promising altcoins that could give you decent profit in the future.

Here is my top list of altcoins:

1.IOST
2.EOS
3.XMR
4. DASH

Always remember to invest an amount that you can afford to lose.
402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: today the crypto market is starting to rise again on: June 04, 2018, 04:51:39 AM
today on 04-06-2018, its price crypto market has gone up again, which I want to ask, is it right now to buy coins for investment? please give me your answer

Yes, you should purchase now before you miss the green trains but be extra careful as well for we all know that crypto values are very volatile and we can't really predict what will happen in the future. Just monitor the market often for you to be able to do a stop loss and won't lose everything you've invested but if you're doing a long term investment then I'm positive that by the end of the year you will surely profit. Please invest an amount that you can afford to lose.
403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs gonna end someday ? on: June 03, 2018, 05:42:25 PM
I have one question that really bug me sometimes, Are ICOs going to end or new ideas and projects will emerge along with ICOs. Many of us actually rely on bounty to earn other than investing. As long as there is ICO I believe there will be bounty. It will be a sad day for us if ICOs are declared officially dead.

I guess it won't be gone. ICOs will always be there as long as people will invest in it. There's a lot of money involve in ICOs and people behind it will have great profits if they are launching their own projects. In nature people are greedy and they want to profit more and earn more through ICOs. They don't care if their technology will last for years as long as they can profit out of it.
404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What you need to know before investing in crypto on: June 03, 2018, 03:19:54 PM
A news from ABS-CBN, a Filipino Media and Entertainment Group.

MANILA - An investor who saw a 39,000-percent increase in his bitcoin investment warned on Monday that many cryptocurrency investment schemes right now are scams.

Emerson Fonseca, Philippine head of NEM Foundation, told ANC's Market Edge that since he started trading bitcoin 2 years ago, a lot of scams have cropped up because people don't understand cryptocurrencies.

What are your opinions?

As what I've learned only those who have less knowledge about crypto and those people who wants to get rich real quick are the ones being victimized by these scam schemes. There's no such thing as easy money without any risks. If you want to join in a ponzy and HYIP then the risk is very high. If its too good to be true then you should be having second thoughts about investing your money in it.
405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why shouldn’t we be concerned? on: June 03, 2018, 01:03:02 PM
Why shouldn’t we be concerned? Seems like everyone on here is extremely confident will see a bounce back to the December highs and then surpass them, but this dip/crash is now 5 months long. So I’m curious as to why so many of you are confident?

I don't think it will surpass the last December's value but if you'll just think it over, the next halving will be happening next year May 2019 and the difficulty of mining will increase again making bitcoin more scarce and valuable. This is just my own opinion, so during December people have lots of money due to bonuses from their pay. Those extra money that they have will be allocated to spending it into crypto for possible profit by next year. It's always been the trend that bitcoin value will always increase during December so let's just wait and see what the future will bring.
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Important about ICО on: June 03, 2018, 12:42:19 PM

International Big Data Industry Expo 2018 took place in the city of Guizhou in China.
He Baohong is a well-known researcher of cloud computing and blockchain. He voiced just incredible figures. You can read the entire article by reference.

https://news.bitcoin.com/blockchain-projects-live-a-little-over-a-year-on-average-china-claims/

Only 8% of all appeared ICO survived and functions. I thought it would be about 30%. No ..... It's only 8%. I'm just overwhelmed by this research. What are your impressions?

Specially when the people behind working and supporting the project is tired of developing their project to make it more valuable and usable to the society. That is why some coins or projects won't be successful its mainly because some companies are only after for the money that they can get during ICO. Their only goal is to profit from it and no plans of developing their project further to make it more usable and valuable in the future.
407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you bullish that EOS has the potential to beat Ethereum? on: June 02, 2018, 08:21:15 PM
EOS is a blockchain and a smart contract platform that will directly compete with Ethereum. It is advertised as an “operating system” for decentralized applications. The platform uses a delegated proof of stake (DPoS) consensus mechanism, which makes a fundamental tradeoff to become more centralized (having 21 block producers rather than an infinite number of miners in a proof of work model) in exchange for a faster, more scalable network.

EOS has a long way to go but do you think that EOS has the potential to beat Ethereum price one day or ETH will still remain king.

Eth has already established its name and there are lots of supporters backing up Eth so I don't think EOS can surpass Eth in the near future. It's possible but not in the near future since Eth has already proven its performance in the market next to bitcoin and the devs behind it is also working hard to do some upgrades that will enhance the technology of the Eth platform.
408  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price December 2018 on: June 02, 2018, 05:14:00 PM
Some analysts are of the view that Bitcoin Price could reach a peak in December that is double the price now?

No one can really predict the value of bitcoin but if you are trying to look back December last year then the possibility is very high if the trend will just follow and history will repeat itself. Hope that bitcoin will perform well in the market when we reach Q4 of the year so that experts' predictions will be realized. We just have to wait what the future may bring to us and enjoy our profits if that time will come. Happy hodling and have a good one.
409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Far Are We From A Fully Decentralize System on: June 02, 2018, 07:38:17 AM
When Bitcoin came out first, one of the biggest reason the community endorse it so much is because of the idea of decentralization. But the ironic thing is most of the transactions now occurs in the centralize exchanges. How far are we from a fully decentralize system?

I guess this will never happen. Every country that doesn't ban bitcoin needs to regulate exchanges for them to monitor and track down possible money laundering acts. I know bitcoin is created to be fully decentralized trying to correct the blunders made by our centralized currency but this will just be merely a dream for now. It's either our country bans crypto or they'll regulate exchanges. We don't have a choice since we are dealing with the government.
410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Feelings about being hacked. on: June 01, 2018, 02:43:28 PM
It was a miserable day for me after someone denied me of my laughter and smiles. My first time I had a huge token worth about $1500 from participating in a bounty. I remember I had toiled enough within weeks partaking in one bounty so as to make something nice and someone from nowhere just hacked my wallet and took the tokens away. Infact, I felt like I have been robbed of my gold since that token was my 1st token which was worth $1500. Share how you felt on when your 1st valuable altcoin was hacked from your wallet.

Even if I didn't experience it myself I felt bad for you since you've worked hard for it, spend some time and effort bounty hunting and it just goes down to the hands of the hacker. I just didn't exactly know why are you even hacked? Have you been phished? or have you left or given your private keys to anyone you know? This is so frustrating when our hard earned money be gone to waste. I really want all hackers to be gone and be put behind bars. They just can't stop taking money from people. I just couldn't understand why these guys won't find a decent job and earn a living? Hope these guys will rot in hell.
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long do you plan to hold on to your top Cryptos? on: June 01, 2018, 02:37:50 PM
I was just wondering how long you guys plan to hold on to your top cryptos. Right now my plan is to hold on for at least 3-5 years. But that could all change depending on where the market goes. If there is serious mass adoption, I wouldn't mind holding for longer. I will probably hold on to LTC for the longest.

It really depends on the value's of every crypto that I'm holding. There are some altcoins that needs to grow and mature so I'll be holding it for like 3-4 years for me to get more profit from it. When it comes to bitcoin I guess I've learned my lesson last year. I need to get or even predict the correct timing of its ATH for this year for me to cash out or even convert it to FIAT and then wait again for it to drop its value the following year. It's always been the trend when it comes to bitcoin so as well as altcoins but I'm just really hoping that I'll be making a very good decision when that time comes.
412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth buying low-volume tokens? on: June 01, 2018, 05:07:12 AM
I noticed this phenomenon. Often someone buys up all the proposed tokens with a small amount of trading (for example, look at SMT on hitbtc this night), and after a few days these tokens go up in price very much. Is it worth buying such a token?

It's quite risky but its worth it when its value skyrockets. You just have to pick which token to invest make sure that their technology is promising and theirs a room for the value of the token to skyrocket in the near future or else your investments will go down the drain. Sometimes most of these tokens are just used for pumps and dumps so invest only an amount that you can afford to lose.
413  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is a constant rise in the price of Bitcoin, important? on: June 01, 2018, 03:45:04 AM
Let's say you bought a bitcoin for $1000 in January 2018. <Just an example, not the real price at the time>

So you have to beat inflation and also the performance of other investments to say that your Bitcoin investment was a better investment, than other alternative investments.

Let's say your inflation is 5% and your best return on some other investment is %20 per year, then your Bitcoin price increase will have to be more than %25 to beat the alternative investment.

Let's say you hoard for 5 years, then you would need a price increase of 125% to beat your alternative investment returns over 5 years.

So we cannot have a price increase of 800% in year 1 and then a price decrease of %400 in year 2 and another price decrease of 200% in year 3 and so on...

Hope you get at what I am saying. Hoarding might be harmful to your profits, if you do not cash out SOME profit on the ATH.  Wink ..... You might end up with a bitcoin worth $100 in year 5.  Roll Eyes

You are right. As what we have experienced last December, bitcoin's price is at its ATH and that was the best moment to cash out and enjoy the profits. Since bitcoin's value is very volatile and unpredictable we can't even say that this is the ATH. We won't know when to cash out cos our greed will take over us specially if we see its value skyrocket. We still want some more of it because of our greediness to profit some more and that's the time we lose.
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are investors got tired of ICOs? on: June 01, 2018, 03:29:20 AM
It seems that investors got tired of ICOs in the last months. Do you believe that ICO hype will come back soon?
It's not the investors that are tired of the ICO's,it's the government. In the last few months, SEC has cracked down a lot of illegal ICO's which operated without any licensing.Obviously in such a hostile environment it becomes difficult for an investor to risk their money. They rather wait for the things to settle instead of putting money where their mouth is.

You're right. The government needs to make a move because these scam ICOs are taking advantage of people's money. I do pity those naive individuals who are still new in cryptos who invests their retirement money into ICOs and just get scammed. Individuals who have lack of knowledge because of the hype of bitcoin is very vulnerable to these kinds of schemes.

It seems that investors got tired of ICOs in the last months. Do you believe that ICO hype will come back soon?

Ico's are still in the hype today but not every ico's are getting a lot of investors because that will be depending on their platform and how hard the developers are promoting their coin in order to have more people being attracted on their project.

The better their whitepaper and the promotion of the project the more it will attract huge number of investors. As long as the project that they are making is realistic and usable for the betterment and improvement of our technology then investors won't have second thoughts in investing their money into a promising project that could possibly multiply their money in folds.

It seems that investors got tired of ICOs in the last months. Do you believe that ICO hype will come back soon?

I don't believe that the investors are tired of investing but its just many new ICO were created to join the market in which it will make the investors to confuse that some of them are become a victim of a scam project and decided  to shift to none crypto investments.Although i believed in competition but still we need an action to limit the ICO numbers in retain only the best so that the investors could only to choose what is good for their money.

Those individuals who were scammed is now paranoid and more careful in investing their hard earned money into crypto because of these rampant scam ICOs that are flooding the market annually. That is why the government is really doing their best now to regulate and makes sure that the company and the people behind these ICOs should provide documents as proof of their legitimacy.

415  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price manipulation on: May 31, 2018, 08:07:12 PM
I read that they are investigating criminal price manipulations over Bitcoin. Manipulation of prices is really possible ? This happened before ?

Even in forex manipulation already did happen. If a bunch of whales grouping up together and arriving at a common consensus that they'll gonna pump and dump btc or even altcoins in the market then it would really affect the value of crypto. This is an illegal movement since there are lots of players and investors in the crypto market.

I've once joined a discord group few months back where in the members are told to pump and dump at a certain time and it really did well for all of us who executes fast at a given time. So manipulation of prices in the market is really possible but could destroy the image of the market itself as well as pester those small fishes in the market.
416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Currency has theability to remove poverty. on: May 31, 2018, 05:31:15 PM
Crypto has gained a significant value in recent time. And I have seen some people who have been able to wash out their miserable by trading in crypto.  In this point I believe crypto has the value than can remove poverty from a country. What is your thought?? Have you seen anyone who have been rich by Crypto??

Poverty is everywhere. There are always poor people in every country that we live in and we can't do anything about it since some of these guys chose to be in that position. I may be born poor because my parents are poor but it would be my fault if I'd die poor so right now I'm working my ass off and trying to invest in crypto as much as I can to have more profit in the future and save those for my family and my retirement.

Bitcoin is not made to solve poverty. Poverty will always be there. There's no rich if there's no poor people.
417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should you dump or not dump after ICO ends? on: May 31, 2018, 05:11:27 PM
This is a broad and interesting topic in which people's choices are divided.

But what really is the correct choice?

For me , the answer is YES . There are a lot of tokens out there that dumps hard after the first exchange because most people are scared that the price would go down after. A lot of tokens also disappear ICO which results from whale investors to quickly dump it after ICO and observe the trend of the token and the activities of its developers. If you are a plankton like me, the best thing you should do in my opinion is to dump after ICO and buy at the dip and sell later at a higher price, most tokens have this kind of trend after ICO.

Let us also hear about your thoughts. To dump or not to dump after ICO ends?

I concur with you on that matter. That should be the best thing to do but if you do believe in the technology of the coin then hold it for a few months or even years and the profit will be overwhelming given that the coin is promising and that it can fully deliver its purpose why it is made in the first place. There's nothing wrong in playing safe by selling it after an ICO but this will hurt the coin that you invested in and the possibility of getting more profit in the future will be at stake as well.
418  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How the value of BTC determined. on: May 31, 2018, 03:32:48 PM
I know that generally supply and demand determine the value of bitcoin. But is it the only factor that helps to change bitcoin's price. Or there are more Causes ?

Aside from supply and demand, the value of bitcoin is determined when there's a fake news or rumor about bitcoin, cryptomarket manipulation by those people who has very huge investments into bitcoin who we call whales in the cryptomarket, and if when huge amount of bitcoin is hacked specially in a reputable exchanger. All those factors could affect the price of bitcoin.
419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tax Time is Here and Lots of Cryptocurrency Holders Don’t Care on: May 31, 2018, 03:24:36 PM
In the U.S. tax season has arrived and many American cryptocurrency proponents are squirming because they have to pay for some of the gains they made last year. However, there are a lot of digital currency holders who could care less about taxes and they strongly believe that taxation is antithetical to cryptocurrencies. While there is a good portion of digital currency holders planning to file their gains and losses, many crypto-advocates don’t plan to pay their tax liabilities.

what do you think the crypto coin tax should be required or not Shocked Wink

+merit

This is one of the reasons why some countries are banning cryptos since there are so many tax evaders anywhere in the world. The nation will not improve without any taxes from the people. Taxes are important to augment government infrastructures that could potentially create jobs for the people and funding of health care facilities as well.
There's nothing wrong paying your taxes since crypto nowadays has already been regulated by the government.
420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook is launching '' FaceCoin ''' on: May 31, 2018, 03:05:29 PM
The "FaceCoin " will someday be a reality. According to many repoprts Mark Zuckerberg's social network would consider creating his own virtual tokens to facilitate paid transactions on his platform that now has some 2 billion user . For this matter Facebook has assembled a team dedicated to the technology of the blockchain. It is directed by David Marcus, former Messenger boss and former president of Paypal.

https://cheddar.com/videos/facebook-plans-to-create-its-own-cryptocurrency

Mark is a businessman and he knows that he can profit more if he's gonna make his new coin. With the success of facebook as a social media no doubt he can pull it off as well when it comes to the acceptance and adaption of the society to this new alt FaceCoin if it will be realized in the future. It will be an advantage since Mark owned facebook so its easier to spread the word out and let people know about the new coin. In my own opinion this altcoin will surely skyrocket.
