201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How long time will take to market rise ? on: August 17, 2018, 04:35:04 PM
Even experts can't say when is the exact moment for crypto market to go bullish again. That's the best thing in crypto, it's movement is very unpredictable. With this kind of nature that the market is exhibiting within this year, made a lot of investors panic sell that really hurt the market big time. I just had a $5k investment and now it went down to $2.3k. When I invested the money I am already willing to lose it all so there's no regrets even if my portfolio will drop up to 80%. I already made up my mind to trust the technology and I'm pretty sure that the market will be bullish again we just don't really know when let's just all be patient and wait for that moment to come.
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A must read article for all emotional investors out there,FUD spreaders, skeptics on: August 15, 2018, 04:44:14 PM
Yes it is true that at tough tomes it is hard to stay strong, but we still need to do it, otherwise we will not be able to think clearly and rationally. Thank you so much for this motivation.
It's but normal that sometimes our emotions will cloud our judgement. That is why we just have to take some leap of faith into our investments and follow our intuition sometimes. Grin
THis article is like a breathe of fresh air, I'm tired of hearing the F*ckin morons on the internet all the time moaning and bitchin how bitcoin is gonna crash to 0 or 1k or w/e BS price they can pull out of their A** I mean if you really look at the price of BTC 6k is still a massive achievement that nobody could of even imagined back in 2010 20k was absolutely out of this world! and I still think that btc will go waaayyy above 20k at some point as well Smiley we need more articles like this. Thanks OP for posting Smiley
Thanks for the positive comment. I really appreciate it. The main reason I'm posting this is to help emotional investors have at least a peace of mind when it comes to their investments. Everything happens for a reason, maybe in the near future the value of bitcoin will bounce back into a much unexpected and at a very good amount. We can't really tell what will happen in the future but at least we are still here to support the technology.
Finally a positive post among such depressing condition. Thanks for helping, mate! The recent market condition has caused a frustrating scene among crypto investors. Newcomers are getting scared and running away by selling all their funds whereas FUDsters are taking most advantage of it. Hope people study the situation and keep their faith in Bitcoin.
This is what we all need during bearish market. We need to attract positive thoughts in ourselves for it can create positive results. The stronger we are in our beliefs and knowledge about the technology the more we are willing to hold on onto our investments without losing a single dime for our patience will always be rewarded in the near future.
203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A must read article for all emotional investors out there,FUD spreaders, skeptics on: August 14, 2018, 06:23:14 PM
A very good writing skill you have, man. And, this topic will be very helpful for the all emotional investors and holders. But one thing, I can say, Bitcoin is not an investment system and it is not for everyone. At least it is not for them who don't know about the crypto volatility, who only want to see bitcoin at a higher price, they are not needed in this community. They need to learn first about the cryptocurrency and then they should invest. It is true, 85% of people are feeling very bad for this bad situation of the crypto market, but we should keep our patience running. In the near future market will recover, we can hope for this.

Thanks for the positive comment. If bitcoin is not meant for investment then we wouldn't be here in this forum trying to seek knowledge and information about the technology for us to learn and at least profit at the same time with our crypto investments. Bitcoin is created as a cryptocurrency that will revolutionize the current centralized banking system that we have. That's the main goal of Satoshi Nakamato but as of today, because of bitcoin's volatility in value, it is now being used as an investment vehicle just like gold.
204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining Bitcoin Using Free Electricity on: August 14, 2018, 06:00:19 PM
Whats creative about stealing electricity?
It came straight from your words that stealing is being creative not mine. You focused more on the stealing of electricity. If your that smart you'd definitely agree with his resourcefulness. Those students are paying for their dorms and mining bitcoin is not like being taught in school that every teachers and personnel or even co students know what he is doing.
Anyhow, a quick glance at nicehash shows me that with one 1080TI you're going to make 30$ a month....about 4 hours of working at McDonalds.
He must have been earning more than what you've assumed or wouldn't take those risks.  Grin
I don't see how it became an advantage to the situation.

Bitcoin Mining is not always about FREE ELECTRICITY. There are lots of things to be consider and don't be just amazed that everyone can start mining bitcoin easily just because of free electricity. There are users in the past claiming they have a low electricity consumption, free electricity etc. but where they are today? Will not go through the details as I doubt OP will read all comments here.
If you're telling me that mining with free electricity is not an advantage then you better go back to being a newbie in this forum. Sometimes being a high rank doesn't mean you know everything. We all know that there are lots of factors to consider when it comes to mining but after you told me that you don't see any advantage mining with free electricity made me think that you're a newbie. Power consumption is the number one factor that can cut off your profit when it comes to mining.
I'm reading every comments of my posts and don't worry you are not alone. High rank idiots are rampant in this forum pretending to know about everything. Grin
This student is really smart using circumstances and opportunities lol ..
but if I'm still in high school I will do the same thing with those students, even I will work on the bounty while taking a break with a school computer Smiley
At least you are thinking outside the box. There are some narrow minded people who commented in here about "how stealing electricity being creative".lol and others even said that mining with free electricity is not an advantage. They all made me laugh. Grin
if you get caught with your miner, the consequences will be rough.
The good thing is, most of those teachers and dorm authorities doesn't know about mining.  Grin
Really?  Stealing electricity is intellect and creativity?  If I am the principal of the school, I will sue them and make their parents pay for the electricity they steal.
We are not talking about morality in here. Intellect and creativity can be used in either good or bad motives. Sadly you are not the principal and I doubt the principal has any knowledge about mining so he won't get caught until he graduates.

You guys are only focusing on the stealing of electricity. Stop being so narrow minded and just agree how smart this kid is with the current technology just to get extra money for his expenses. Grin
I will not bring miner to school, its too heavy and produce a lot noises. Imagine you bring antminer s9 or GPU to school everyday Roll Eyes

GPU is just your graphic card inside your PC or laptop and it is different from a bitcoin ASIC miner which is a bigger thing with high sound. you can actually use your PC (maybe not laptop) with a strong gaming GPU to mine altcoins. that is still against the rules but at least it is much easier to conceal than an ASIC miner! and the usage can be similar to you just playing games with your PC.
I just don't know why these high rank idiots commenting on bringing Asics to mine in a dorm for they already know that its too noisy. This forum is really messed up with high rank idiots trying to act as if they know everything. Commenting into topics without using their brains.  Peace ya'll! Grin

205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What to expect from ICO, which extend the pile of bounty companies. on: August 12, 2018, 11:26:34 PM
ICO is done so companies will have funds to develop their project. In every ICO there are certain goals to meet and the hard cap is sometimes hard to attain specially if the project is not properly promoted or advertised. With the lack of funds being raised during ICO period, the company will extend the ICO in a couple of weeks or even months just to reach a certain amount of money. If not the ICO will end and the investors will be refunded depending on the legitimacy of the people running the ICO. It's just normal for an ICO to extend until they reached the desired amount of funding that they wanted for them to fully fund the project.

https://www.newsbtc.com/2018/08/12/students-are-mining-bitcoin-in-university-dorms-campuses-are-alert/

Never though of this when I'm still in school but this is clearly profitable given the free source of electricity. I was so amazed by the creativity and intellect of those students taking advantage of the situation.  Grin

I don't have much knowledge about cyber security, is it really possible that the school's network will be compromised due to students mining activities using the schools internet connection? Will there be any legal charges if the students will get caught? Share me your thoughts.
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: High risk results to high rewards on: August 12, 2018, 10:16:31 PM
When someone has never tried using bitcoin then they will never understand Bitcoin.
That's why we have so many skeptics lurking and spreading FUD about bitcoin and crypto. People who have no knowledge about a certain project or technology that can make you profit would definitely call it a scam unless tried it himself or by gaining knowledge about it. That is why we have so many emotional investors right now coming in because most of them doesn't really know what's the nature of the crypto market. All they know is that investing in bitcoin can make them rich real quick.  Grin
Bitcoin is a miracle and we all want to be part of a miracle !!
There are some people who went broke because of bitcoin, specially those people who are addicted to online gambling with bitcoins. Some retirement funds were scammed by cloud mining site run by scammers.

We should all take extra precautions when doing transactions online for there are lots of scammers online trying to take advantage of those people who have less knowledge about the technology.
208  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HODL Reminder: Bitcoin Halving is just around 650 days away on: August 11, 2018, 10:19:41 PM
A lot can happen in 2 years but you are right. People are focusing too much on the short term and fail to see the big picture until it's too late. People who sold at 20$ regretted it a year later. People who sold at $300 also regretted it a year later. If you sell at $6000 you will surely regret it in 2019 unless you manage to buy it all back at $5000, but that's like gambling.

There were also people who didn't sell last year December that regret a lot by being so greedy hoping that bitcoin will still go past $20k and above. It's not really all about the hodl, it's the perfect timing about everything on when to buy and sell. As we all know that bitcoin's value is unpredictable anything can happen due to its volatility. I don't pray that BTC's value will go down the drain but it can happen. We all can't predict the future so there's no assurance that if we all hodl the value of bitcoin will skyrocket for their will be no more movement or activity in the market if everyone is hoarding their coin.
209  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bounty for Newbie Account on: August 11, 2018, 09:54:03 PM
Can Newbie join the bounty program?
Because i just see Jr. Member, Sr. Member, and more higher rank.
Thank you

There are some bounty managers that doesn't accept newbie members to participate in bounty campaigns. Others even prefer Member Rank or higher to help promote the project. I have no ill intentions to those newbies out there who wants to earn coins or tokens through bounty campaigns but I'm in favor of those bounty managers who are doing some restrictions when it comes to low rank members participating in bounty campaigns. This is one way of discouraging people who are new to the forum to make bot armies and spam the threads in different sections since a Member rank needs at least 10 merits and that's not an easy journey if your a newbie.

210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / A must read article for all emotional investors out there,FUD spreaders, skeptics on: August 11, 2018, 03:37:48 PM
https://ethereumworldnews.com/here-is-how-bitcoin-btc-has-survived-worse-including-the-mt-gox-saga-of-2013-2014/

I'm one of the supporters of this awesome technology. I've been monitoring bitcoin values since 2014 and an avid fan of blockchain. I'm no expert when it comes to its technicalities and predicting fluctuations. What I'm certain about is my belief that bitcoin won't just go down the drain because of the solid support of the community and help of some brilliant developers to maintain and improve its key features.

We are now experiencing bloodbath and huge dips in bitcoin's value. Emotional and newcomers into crypto are already panic selling. I just wanted you to know that this moment in time isn't the worst that BTC has ever experienced and I'm so certain that BTC's performance in the market will surely recover in the near future.

Hodler's may have been hurt due to this huge fall of bitcoin's value but only stronger hands wins this kind of waiting game for we all know that bitcoin will surely when it comes to value over time as its mining difficulty, usage and adoption increases.

Kudos to all bitcoin enthusiasts and supporters out there that truly believes in the technology despite the bloodshed that we are experiencing now or until the end of the year.

Remember that the weaker hands can't win in this kind of situation. Whales will be laughing at them who do panic selling.
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: High risk results to high rewards on: August 11, 2018, 03:02:05 PM
As what I've noticed with the newcomers into crypto space, they're investing into crypto thinking only one thing, to get rich real quick which is not the case right now. With so much FUD, regulations and other factors bringing down the name of crypto, the risk involve in investing is too much high compared to last year. So the best thing that we should do is find a perfect timing when to buy and sell for us to profit and always set a goal about everything.
212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: High risk results to high rewards on: August 11, 2018, 12:53:27 PM
Most of the guys don't have a desire to risk, because they are not familiar with the principles of investing and saving so there are not skilled guys as at the stock market, but the newbies were not familiar with nothing but bounties for $5
That's why is really important to do your own homework before investing into something. Gaining knowledge into a project or technology that you wanted to invest will give you faith and trust with the money you invested. Our emotions will always cloud our judgement when it comes to taking risks. So with the perfect timing about everything accompanied with the trust of the technology then we won't end up to be an emotional investor that do panic selling when there's a sudden dip in value.
I believe bitcoin will live long and price will increases as time goes by despite of its volatility. This can be a good plan that everyone can follow though. Even it takes high risk, remember that there is no person become rich without taking any risk, even how high it is. Bitcoin can give good profit but remember that you can diversify your investment for more possibilities.
I concur. As the saying goes "No guts, no glory" but we need to control our greed as well for us to surely profit.
I don't agree with your assertion. In your post you comment that you invested an amount that you could afford to lose, therefore, I consider that the risk was not too high and this is precisely why you had benefits. A person who invests an amount too high according to his possibilities will be more likely to make the wrong decisions and lose his money.
You can always agree or disagree to anybody's post. As long as I invested money despite the fluctuations and uncertainty of bitcoin's value its already a risk and you don't know the value or how much money I can afford to lose. Don't act as if you knew everything in here.
Many of american people buy bitcoin for their retirement, so they save bitcoin for long term. I have the same plan with them, I still thrust to bitcoin rather than other cryptocurrency. Although people said that save wealth in form of bitcoin is risky but I knew that I take this risk with good reason.

That's not a good thing to do since bitcoin is very volatile. The risk is very high when it comes to investing your retirement funds.
213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get merited? on: August 10, 2018, 08:02:40 PM
I dont think its only about what you post
Trust me it's really about what you post that will get you merits. Even if you're helping out with what you post but you created it in a very generic way that even a newbie could do then in the eyes of other users its just like a simple post. You need to have a strategy of getting the attention of those people who are sending merits. Unique posts can get you merits as well depends on the content and value of the article or reply that you make. Effort and patience is the key in ranking up. You just have to wait for that moment to come and better improve the way you post to get to the next rank that you desired.
its somehow about, who you know and also about who is in your contact. Do you guys agree ?
I somewhat agree with this. If you are active in the forum you can build network of friends and those people will notice the way you post and they will reward you for a post that they find helpful and valuable to the community. Sharing merits with friends to posts that are insignificant or trading merits to friends is against the rules. Abusing the merit system can get your account banned or red tagged.

I myself have been posting in this forum, I know I'm not an expert when it comes to acquiring merits but I always find time to take extra effort without actually expecting to get merits.
As long as I can help out others and share my little knowledge about anything that involves in crypto then I'm good.

Posting in the right section as well could get you more merits to a post that is substantial.

214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is signature apportionment always high than that of Social Media? on: August 10, 2018, 07:43:44 PM
I have read most of the replies and most of them are correct about your question. One more reason why signature campaigns do have high allocations because people doing the signature campaign should spend time and effort in constructing valuable posts or replies to a certain topic that could potentially help out the community and the people who are new to crypto space. The level of task done is very different when it comes to social media campaigns. One reason as well is that there are only a few number of participants that is sharing the allocated stakes.
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / High risk results to high rewards on: August 10, 2018, 07:33:21 PM
https://www.livebitcoinnews.com/4-in-10-americans-will-never-invest-in-bitcoin-says-latest-crypto-study/

I've known some few friends who are into forex and stock investments. When they've learned that I engage myself into crypto trading and investments they discouraged me due to bitcoin's price volatility and unpredictable fluctuations. All I can say to them is that I only invest an amount that I can surely afford to lose and taking huge risks will definitely compensate you good returns as well. I bumped into this article saying that 4 in 10 Americans will never invest in bitcoin, which is somewhat realistic but still history can really tell that bitcoin has changed lots of millennials who took the risk and profited when bitcoin value skyrocketed to almost $20k last year.

So with this article it shows that there is still high percentage of Americans that is willing to take risks to invest in bitcoin just to make some good profit in the near future. What are your thoughts regarding this one? Share me your thoughts.
216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IS HOLDING TRULY THE SOLUTION TO DROP OF BTC PRICE? on: August 09, 2018, 02:51:17 PM
Hodl is not the solution but atleast don't try to do panic selling with huge amount of coins that you already have. This will totally hurt the market. The main reason why we encounter this kinds of bearish market is because of huge emotional investors coming into crypto market and panic sells when they see that there's a huge dip happening. If only those hodlers won't do panic selling at once then we won't experience this red train.

Those emotional investors are just in here to profit without understanding that bitcoins value is volatile and fluctuations happening every now and then is just normal since crypto market is still so young and unstable. As what some experts said when it comes to trading, only the weaker hands will lose during bearish times.
217  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk is like a History Channel, dont you think? on: August 08, 2018, 04:47:49 PM
It's a bit fun reading the topics and the panic people have when bitcoin was less than $1000. I believe most of us have once said "if I could back to 2009 I would have bought bitcoins" you know the choice between red and blue pill? where the blue can take you years back with all the knowledge you have now versus to the instant million dollar pill. So I console myself, even if bitcoin is around $6000 now, that this could be cheap price still years from now..

You are right. We can't really predict the future of bitcoin's value but with as the difficulty of mining bitcoins increases then its value will increase as well. So few years from now or a decade from now, the price that we see today would potentially be doubled or even be more than that. So let's stop being an emotional investor and try to take advantage of this moment for we might not be able to purchase this specific price of bitcoin in the following years.
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS THE BEST HOUSE IN A TOUGH MARKET? on: August 08, 2018, 04:40:40 PM
bitcoin is best ... not because of its price but because of its utility. because it is the only decentralized currency that works properly and with sufficient security that you can trust is actually immutable. when you buy 1BTC it will remain 1BTC and won't change due to a fork or a roll back,... that so many of the altcoins even the big ones have. then that makes its price also rise.

as for the "FUD spreaders", unfortunately most of them are the same weak hands that have been buying bitcoin emotionally and irrationally and causing the volatility that we specifically see these days.

I definitely agree with you on this. What I love most about bitcoin is the support of the community like us that truly believes in the technology. So no matter how bearish the market is, we still remain to get a hold of our investments in bitcoin or might even take advantage of the opportunity for us to add more bitcoin investments due to the price drop that's happening.

Most of the new investors coming into the crypto space are really emotional investors and doesn't understand that fluctuations of values are just normal since bitcoin is very volatile that's why they tend to panic sell everything they have and could really impact the value of bitcoin as a whole.
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / BITCOIN IS THE BEST HOUSE IN A TOUGH MARKET? on: August 07, 2018, 05:00:30 PM
That is why bitcoin is the most trustworthy and secure investment vehicle in the crypto space. There are lots of altcoins in the market but for me bitcoin is still the best bet of them all.
Many FUD spreading everywhere that bitcoin will be dead anytime soon but that's just too impossible to think of given the fact that bitcoin is slowly being adopted by the society and is going mainstream. With the bearish market that we experienced this year, bitcoin remained strong and the support of the community exhibited by bitcoin's performance in the market.

Hope that because of this news we will see some good performance of bitcoin's value in the market. We'll just wait and see if this really can bring huge impact to bitcoin's value and the adoption of the general public to crypto.
