401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I convert my BCH to BTC? on: September 11, 2017, 08:40:35 AM
Like many others I hold the BCH I got during the fork.
Those are coins I did not expected to have, so they don't show up anywhere in my plans.
Maybe they surprise me in a few years. But for next few years, those coins will not be touched.
402  Economy / Economics / Re: WILL BITCOIN BE USED BY ALMOST EVERYONE IN 2022? on: September 11, 2017, 08:28:20 AM
I think that we will see an increase of people who posess bitcoin in the population.
But definitely not everyone. That probably is never going to happen.
And I do not think as well that the people will use bitcoin as a currency.
I think bitcoin will only serve as an investment in the future. That process from currency to pure investment might already be finished in 2022.
403  Other / Archival / Re: Do you agree with idea "Bitcoin bank" ? on: September 11, 2017, 08:18:53 AM
I think that bitcoin was developed exactly to avoid the banks.
Everything a bitcoin bank would accomplish is to import all the problems people have with their banks into the bitcoin system.
Bitcoin has been doing fine without a bank now for several years.
We need exchanges, we need wallets, we don't need banks.
404  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has Crypto currency reached its maximum market cap? on: September 11, 2017, 07:54:09 AM
This is a pretty retarded thread tbh. Cryptocurrencies are increasing in price constantly over time. The prices of the main crypto's will continue to rise.

Correct.
The question is more: what could be the too market cap for cryptos?
$1T, $10T, $100T

Imho, $10T is the magic figure: dot com scars are still present.
I would imagine that a good half of the blockchain economy will happen under private chains (or closed to the other 99% with strong regulations put by the 1%). Hence, I believe that in the next 3-7years, we may reach $5Trillion market cap.

That is a BTC at $250,000 but ONLY if it stays the leading coin (to be confirmed...I doubt it)

I have just read a similar analysis in one of the financial online newspapers.
They estimate a market capitalizatin of 5T for bitcoin alone in ten years.
If bitcoin would then still be at about 50% of the whole market capitalization, we would have 10T dollars in the crypto market in ten years.
405  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Insurance or cryptocurrency investment? on: September 11, 2017, 06:26:58 AM
I would say that you have to keep in mind that crypto currencies are not only risky in terms of price developement.
There is the technical factor as well.
Your coins can get lost or stolen. An exchange can get hacked as well. In those cases you have a 100% loss.
Those are external circumstances you have to consider as well when you move money from an insurance into crypto.
406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as salary for a regular job? on: September 11, 2017, 05:58:51 AM
I think it would make my life more difficult to have a salary paid in bitcoin.
There are taxes I have to pay and insurances, none of them accept bitcoin.
They often want a sepecific percentege of my salary, that is really hard to calculate with something as volatile as a crypto currency.
For taxes and insurances I really ned the local fiat money. I can buy bitcoins with what is left of my salary afterwards any time!

407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China is Laughing on: September 10, 2017, 05:35:23 PM
Didn't this last rumor with the potential ban of bitcoin start with one twitter announcement of a newspaper that even had no real source to quote?
Theoretically it could all be based on a trainee somewhere in that newspaper who set up that tweet because he wanted to invest his 50 dollars salary in cheap coins.

408  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing money on bitcoin..! on: September 10, 2017, 05:16:50 PM
Bitcoin is not my main investment, but the money I have in bitcoin is longterm.
I do not really rely on an increasing price, but I think I have enough knowledge about the technology and the market that I see a chance for an increasing price.
And I think my investment into bitcoin is adjusted to that chance.
That's somehow what it is all about: looking at possible profits, looking at risks and come to a conclusion what a reasonable amount for an investment based on the personal financial conditions would be.
409  Economy / Economics / Re: The Real Reason to Hold Gold And Bitcoin on: September 10, 2017, 02:30:49 PM
I think you buy gold mainly to keep the value you already have.
And people buy bitcoin to increase the value they have.
Gold has a very low volatility, and since it's on the market for a few thousand years, I think it is safe to say that that you will always be able to trade gold for about the same price you bought it.
Bitcoin has more risk. But the profit options are much higher to.
I think in a balanced investment plan both should not be missing these days.
410  Economy / Economics / Re: The panic seller irony on: September 10, 2017, 01:34:34 PM
I think that especially with bitcoins, people are constantly under pressure.
Every stock exchange opens and closes each day. And they have weekends as well.
Those are times when you can not trade and you have time to think about your investments.
The cryptocurrencies don't have that. Every time you turn on your computer you can see movements in the charts. There is no break.
No break for the market to cool off either, by the way.
Sometimes this is all just too much, and the people sell.

I would say that if somebody plans to hold coins over a longer period of time, it would be a smart move to avoid the charts.
You can't feed the whales that way.
411  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Trend on: September 10, 2017, 08:26:16 AM
I think due to ICO ban, the rumors and the uncertainty that came along with it, all the weak hands are out at the moment.
I suppose the price around 4K is something like the bottom we have reached.
And if this really is the bottom, it's a pretty high one!
Once the fear of the panic sellers has settled, many of them will return into the market.
And that will bring us back on track to hit the 5K again. Maybe in October.
412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest regret about bitcoin on: September 10, 2017, 07:36:11 AM
I think it was 2011 or so when I saw the first time a report about bitcoin on television.
I don't know what price they mentioned that people would pay for one bitcoin, but I thought something like '... who is stupid enough buy that?!?'
When I look back, that moment was really the biggest regret about bitcoins I have.
I could have gathered more information, maybe even set up my own mining system with my computer.
Instead I just switched to another program.
413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Be ready for more rumors and fud from China on: September 10, 2017, 06:58:32 AM
Giving false alarm will only work for a few times.
And the response they get from the market is getting weaker every time.
I am wondering if the market can grow so resistant against bad news from China, that even in a real case it would not react with panic on it anymore.
414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it better that China just gets out of Bitcoin? on: September 09, 2017, 05:48:21 PM
Doesn't China already lose influence on bitcoin?
I have somewhere read that mining power is only at about 40% located in China. In the past it was much more I think.
And Exchanges are growing everywhere in the world.
All those developements reduce the effects that FUD news about bitcoin in China have.
I think bitcoin works best if we have no nation that plays a dominant role. But every nation should participate.
415  Local / Esercizi commerciali / Re: what do you think will be the future of this market? on: September 09, 2017, 05:14:10 PM
I think that the bitcoin market already is an investment market.
And that would be the way bitcoin should be treated by governments, as an investment.
Where I life there are already regulations on how to handle investments and the profits you earn from them.
And I think that such a statement would be good in every country.
416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your biggest regrets in cryptocurrency? on: September 09, 2017, 03:17:14 PM
In my early days I spent some coins on ridiculous online things.
I really would not do that anymore.
It somehow still hurts when I see the amounts I gave away that time and compare them to what they would be worth today.
I guess everybody would do some things differently if he knew years ago how bitcoin has developed.
417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Being Unemployed Drives People to go to Bitcoin on: September 09, 2017, 03:12:20 PM
I think that being unemployed drives people everywhere where they can earn money.
And with bitcoin you can earn money.
There are no exams that you would have to pass, so everybody can join.
And the tools to join many people have these days: a normal computer and an internet connection.
Combined that makes bitcoin a very promising option to base a new economic future on: You have low risks and big opportunities.
418  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you Panic? on: September 09, 2017, 03:00:25 PM
I panic with a lot of calm.
Often I think that this time it's gonna be the real deal. The one time when it all breaks appart and the investment goes belly up.
But my experience tells me that it's going to be like every other time before, just a storm in a teacup.
My investments are usually well chosen and balanced. Even if setbacks in one area occure, I know that I have others that will compensate that.
419  Economy / Speculation / Re: another day, another dip, another buy the dip on: September 09, 2017, 02:52:20 PM
the news from China are evidence about how fragile the bitcoin community is and how it can be easily manipulated.

about 2 days of non-stop FUD and market manipulation and panic sells and lots of weak hands and price went down 8.45% and it has already recovered about $200 of the dip back up.
and you call this "fragile"?!!

I call it a normal trend, dips and ups is just a normal behavior of bitcoin, and also be true to panicking people, manipulation? I think not, it just happen that china's stand firm on banning ICO to protect their people, FUDs are there no matter what we do, they are a part of this what you called Dips, and Also here we are buying on Dips, and we are part of the Ups ones. Have to wait another dips and fund that's a life that I should. Happy trading everyone .. cheers

I think those FUD news mainly attack the newcomers in the bitcoin world.
When you are longer involved here, you get used to that kind of rumor.
In the last six months, I think we had nothing of that kind. And in the same time the price grew a lot.
That means there are many new people here who do not know this game yet and fall for it.
420  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chinese ban bitcoin news is 100% pure bullshit on: September 09, 2017, 02:12:54 PM
Can it be really a coincidence that just a few days after the chinese central bank made a real announcement about crypto currencies, this fake news occures? I think it is not.
Somebody was planning that. Longterm, I suppose. The moment was carefully chosen.
An already alerted market does not need much to be pushed over the edge once again.
And when you can pinpoint that moment there is much money that can be made.
