1061  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would u still use Bitcoin if u were a USD multi millionaire? on: September 20, 2016, 02:29:46 PM
Of course I would use bitcoins, even more than I do now.
I could afford much more of those things I already buy with bitcoins.
I'm sure all of us would do that.
My bitcoin savings would be higher as well, I might even run my own little mine, even when it's not really profitable in my country. Just for fun, because I can afford it.
1062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I transferred 100$ in BITCOIN and paid 0.05$ in fees... on: September 17, 2016, 09:08:20 AM
That is the beauty of bitcoin.
Low fee and the possibility to transfer money to anywhere in the world and make payments.
Beats western union by far.  One of the reasons why I am here.
You only have to pay attention that you transfer the coins to the correct wallet, because when your coins are gone, they are gone.
That's another thing I am a fan of: you have the full responsibility over your money. If you make a mistake you have to deal with the consequences.
1063  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do people around you think about Bitcoin ? on: September 17, 2016, 09:02:32 AM
People here do not know much about it. So they have don't think good or bad about bitcoin.
In fact I have only met one person till now who knew what a blockchain really is.
I try to explain it over and over again, but the attention I earn is relatively low.
Kind of strange, because I am living in an industry country.
1064  Other / Off-topic / Re: use Bitcoin in daily life? on: September 17, 2016, 08:58:45 AM
In every day life, there is not much I can do with bitcoins.
I can buy them and sell them again on platforms.
And I have bought me some online accounts as well.
But I do not know any store in real life that would accept bitcoin and be in my region.
I hope it will change some day, but until then bitcoin is an investment for me.
1065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar , a failure ? on: September 14, 2016, 03:20:48 PM
I must say I have not used openbazaar.
But I think there is one general problem: Bitcoin is a currency that draws much of its strength out of its anonymity.
When you order real goods from openbazar, you must get them somehow, mostly they are sent to you.
So the seller needs your address what is kind of the opposite of anonymity.
Maybe this is one reason why the project is not growing as expected.

on what do you spent your bitcoins? if you buy something with them, people will know your address or your face (if you buy at a store) or if you want to cash out to a bank.
it is just like fiat in this way and people do not bother buying on amazon or ebay.

The stuff I buy is mostly online stuff. One-click-hoster accounts, vpn, porn... just those kind of things I want nobody to know that I have them. Especially not my wife.
That's the main reason why I got into bitcoin. And I'm sure for a lot of others as well.

1066  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the US Dollar dominate bitcoin trading on: September 14, 2016, 05:52:09 AM
The dollar is globally the main fiat, and bitcoin is globally the most important cryptocurrency.
There are way more dollars out there than bitcoins.
So it is just natural that the two primarys of each of their segments are mainly traded against each othere, while the stronger one (dollar) dominates the smaller one.

1068  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Italy Wants to Treat Bitcoin as Currency And Tax It on: September 14, 2016, 05:29:27 AM
I'm not sure what to think of that news.
If a company  holds bitcoins at the end of the year, they have to pay taxes on them.
Do they have to pay taxes at the end of the year if they hold dollars or pounds as well? Somebody knows that?
1069  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to motivate women to use Bitcoin? on: September 12, 2016, 07:22:54 PM
I think the best way to motivate somebody is personally.
In my opinion every boyfriend or husband who is into bitcoins has the best option to convince his partner from testing bitcoins.
Maybe this way a small chainreaction can be startet.
Would be nice to see more ladies use cryptocurrencies.
1070  Economy / Speculation / Re: When can we expect sub $350 price? on: September 12, 2016, 05:52:17 AM
I am pretty positive that we will see even sub 300's in a year. People believe that if something bad happens bitcoin would gain value but that is a huge mistake. Bitcoin will take the biggest blow if the economy goes to shit.

Look what happened today. Hillary had an attack and bitcoin got dumped instantly. (Those news were good news for me btw)

So many shit is waiting at our doors and bitcoin will be harmed by some of those.

Maybe it is going to be just the other way round?
Economic crisis will drive people to search for different investment options.
And what do they find.... Bitcoins!
Hard to tell which version will turn out to be realistic. Guess we have to wait and see.

I am saying exactly the opposite. In economic crisis people either search for food/shelter or gold. Nobody will give a damn about bitcoins. Bitcoin is a toy where you can have your fun while everything goes smoothly. Gold is the main currency of the world.

Food & shelter, that's what normal people do. But I'm thinking more of the wealthy upper 1%. They have to put their money somewhere if stocks are crashing.
Bitcoin has a market capitalization of about 10 billion dollars. Compared to the fortune that 1% has, it's really not much.
I think it would be possible that some of them could try to save some of their money by putting it into bitcoin.
During the last crisis 2007/2008, that was not possible yet.
1071  Economy / Speculation / Re: wtf is happening? btc drop on: September 12, 2016, 05:44:39 AM
I think too that there is nothing to worry about, 5% volatility of bitcoin is normal.
What's interesting is that nearly all major altcoins lost value as well.
Maybe somebody is pulling off his resources from the crypto market.
1072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between Bitcoin and real money? on: September 11, 2016, 09:56:07 PM
Real money is for banks. You make an account there, have to show them all your details like name passport and so on.
So there is always a connection between you and the money you spend or receive.
With bitcoin there is no such connection. The money can be traced easily, yes. But nobody know the person who sends or receives the bitcoins.

1074  Economy / Economics / Re: How legitimate those 600% ROI claims are? on: September 10, 2016, 10:02:54 PM
If somebody offers such high rates there is always the question why he needs other peoples money.
And the answer is, that this person is only up to your money. Nothing else.
All those promises are just a trick to get your money. Always.
My advice: do not invest your coins. Keep them or turn them into fiat.
1075  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way to manage money? on: September 10, 2016, 04:41:30 PM
For managing money, I have a list.
I note on it everything I give out. And mark the unnecessary things I bought at the end of the month with a big red marker.
For the future I try not to buy that kind of thing again. Of course that does not always work, because life hast to make some kind of fun, too.
And for the present I sell some of stuff where I think I would not make too much loss.
At the end of the year, I usually have some saving. That I put into a relatively safe investment.

1076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the year 2100 on: September 10, 2016, 04:08:35 PM
Of course, none of us will be here in 2100.
But a speculation of how or if bitcoin will be working at that time would help us understand the way bitcoin works and maybe even help us predict the developements in the nearer future.
I personally expect bitcoin not to be working at that time anymore. Most blocks will be found. New ones would come so slowly that confirmations of transactions would simply take too long.
1077  Economy / Economics / Re: English Pound VS Europe Euro Vs US dollar on: September 10, 2016, 03:09:55 PM
i think euro is the future ..us is trying hard to keep the domination of us dollars and by circulating us dollars all around the world they are keeping their economy strong so that they can keep hold on different poor or needy countries and due to this policy they invaded iraq syria and libya and all other countries to keep the domination of us dollar and now iran is challenging us by trading in euros so euro is the future of trading Cool Cool Cool Cool

European economy isn`t growing and the EU might collapse.

I think that the Chinese currency is the future.

USA is still strong but anything could happen ,if Donald Trump becomes president. Grin

I think China is bubble. According to goldman sachs they make new depts every year of about 13% of their national output.
Even greece only managed to reach such a level at the top of the global finance crisis. That will not work for ever.
Europe has potential, the question is if they can show a little bit more unity.
At the moment there is nothing else but the dollar to be considered as the most important currency. And bitcoin of course.
1078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: actual number of people using Bitcoin? on: September 10, 2016, 01:57:28 PM
I don't think the number of people who use bitcoin really matters. And I do not think that it is possible to count them or even to give a wild guess.
I think the amount of money transferred by a certain time period, maybe a day, is more important to measure the growth of bitcoin.

When you look at the size of the blockchain, it grows about 5% a month. Maybe the number of people who use bitcoin is growing in the same size.
1079  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can The Future Value of Bitcoin be Predicted "Accurately" ? on: September 10, 2016, 05:57:30 AM
The only way I can see how something like that could happen is if you find a legit fortune teller.
Everything else will not work.
How could it? there are too many variables that can change, even in short term. Nobody can foresee the next hack of an exchange, or some economic crisis.
If it was possible I am sure companies would have invented it.
1080  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin can not replace fiat on: September 09, 2016, 09:51:33 PM
I think that, compared to fiat, bitoins are a very rare good.
I can not imagine that even when nearly all bitcoins are mined their amount would be sufficient to make all those payments that are made with fiat now.
So no, bitcoins can not replace fiat.
