401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in football on: November 05, 2019, 06:36:27 PM
I would be pretty amazed and happy to see food for sale with bitcoin. There many online stores but almost never offline.
I buy food in person on pretty much a weekly basis with bitcoin at my local farmers' market. The stall I usually buy from had no idea what bitcoin was. I asked the family repeatedly over several months if I could pay in bitcoin, and eventually they obliged. They now accept I think about 8 different cryptocurrencies (although I continue to only use bitcoin), and there are two other stalls at the market which have started accepting bitcoin too. My usually stall tells me they now have about 5 customers each week (the stall market only runs one day a week), myself included, who pay in bitcoin.

The first step to being able to pay for things in bitcoin is to create demand for it. You can't do this with huge corporations, but you can absolutely do it with small, independent retailers or merchants. If they don't know people want to pay in bitcoin, then they won't go to the effort of setting up a wallet and training staff on how to accept it. They want your business; it's in their own interests to facilitate you. I think too many people are passively just waiting for bitcoin to be accepted. Go out there and create demand for bitcoin payments, and you might be pleasantly surprised.

I only think the Sportsbet sponsor makes sense, honestly don't see financial institutions getting the most out of sponsoring football teams - seems counterproductive.
The English Premier League is the most widely watched sport in the world, is broadcast in almost every country and territory in the world, and has a potential audience of almost 5 billion people. It is a fantastic advertising tool for any company. This year, sponsors include airlines, car and tire companies, supermarkets, ISPs, as well as financial institutions.

Yeah, I don't know that I have the patience to ask people about something for months. I tend to get annoyed by then. I get irritated with people quite quickly if they are narrow-minded or ignorant. I would probably get all upset.  Tongue

I pretty much don't bring up crypto because I don't feel like getting into an argument with some idiot that knows nothing. I do totally agree with you, it is up to us to create a demand. My mother has asked me a few times to ask if a shop takes bitcoin because she knows I sometimes use it online. I was thinking I know they will say no but after reading what you said I would have to create my own demand for it. IF others join in then we are getting somewhere. I think once a few places offlines tart accepting that many others will. There is a local pc shop and they have miners GPU rigs displayed in the window and they should probably be the best bet to start with. I am quite surprised they do not acccept crypto by default. I do plan on running my own business and then I will accept crypto. I will accept any form of payment TBH. Hell I will even exchange what I sell for a service and barter like in the old days. A sale is a sale. Getting something instead of nothing is very welcome.

@Kyraishi Dude what the hell are you talking about? Do you live under a rock the last 20 years? Video games and consoles like playstation and nintendo and stuff have advertised in sports events since they began. When the first playstation came out they sponsored teams and had their logo all over the place.
402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Holiday Season Card with QR code on: November 05, 2019, 06:57:42 AM
This is a great idea. It is so straight forward and easy. Just add the QR code and print out the card. You can teach the person you giving the gift to how to safely make their own wallet and then how to import the QR code.
It will probably be exciting for them since it is a new experience. Nice conversation starter as well.

Please also include in the card places to spend the bitcoin and maybe a few easy to find links with some decent and clear info about the bitcoin basics. Just so they understand they are in control of their funds and how to keep them safe.
403  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Donkeymails network paying for years and give 100 000 for 17.99$ only!!!!!WOW on: November 05, 2019, 06:27:46 AM
I have been using donkeymails for years. Like a really really long time. I made my account when I got out of school so that is many years. I think they over 10 years old.
Anyways yes, they are one of the best places to go to get exposure for your website and they offer a wide arrangement of different marketing techniques and methods.
You can also do PTC there, it is not just email. The best thing I like is that even if you have no money to invest you can still invest your time to earn credits and get something out. That's always nice to have the option to free if you like. If you find you do not have enough time to earn credits then you simply upgrade your account and the prices are reasonable for what you are getting.
404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Living Off-Grid With Bitcoin? on: November 03, 2019, 06:36:14 PM
I think its quite unrealizable. We cannot live in a no electricity area if we do cryptocurrency. We can still live in a rural area that has electricity and internet connection. Living in rural areas does not necessarily mean that we can be free of government and other distructors. It can be minimal but still local government are present.

If we can find new resources to create something that will produce electricity, we can live without the government because we have our power and it can light up our place. But that will be difficult as we know that the government doesn't want to see their people use something that they don't know. If you want to remove the dependency of the banks, then you will need approval from the government because the bank will be related to the government itself. I don't think that the government will agree with that because the bank is one of its components to make money.

But you can build your own electricity sources and a computer that runs a node and connect to the network. However, still, you need to pay the internet connection to the ISP provider unless you can have a new source to use the internet without help from the ISP provider.

I think you can almost live off the grid. Everything you need will be paid for with crypto. You can definitely produce electricity using solar so that is covered. What you say is exactly right. You still need the ISP and any other services or subscriptions. But it is as close to completely off the grid as possible. To be totally off in the pure sense of the word you would have to totally disconnect and not use the internet at all. You can still use the pc and electronics since it can be run off solar.
To totally go off-grid you could go Amish ^^

Btw why do you say that you need the approval of the government to remove dependency? What on earth are you talking about?
405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A rising number of Americans own crypto and nearly 13 million women says study.. on: November 03, 2019, 06:18:02 PM
It's really good to see so many female holders there are. I was under the impression there were very few females. Even on here I thought there were not many females. I think there are more than we think there are.
That graph has a much larger portion then I thought. Girls don't have such an ego as guys do so maybe we don't hear of it. Though I have always wondered who the people are behind these profiles in the forum.
Where they live and how they live, what pc they use and all that. It shows we really know very little about one another.

"While an increase of people with a cryptocurrency is positive for the industry,
the vast majority of Americans are not investing in digital currencies."

I am not surprised by this. Crypto is not yet mainstream and is something only some people consider. I think the way it is so volatile is one of the main reasons they do not invest.
Then you get people like me who believe that crypto is the future with their whole heart and show so by using crypto more than fiat.
Fiat disgusts me  Tongue
406  Economy / Economics / Re: Africa - Hidden Treasure for the world and bitcoin on: November 03, 2019, 12:47:36 PM
I live in Africa and bitcoin definitely makes a difference. I think people here are tired of bad investments because honestly investing in the countries companies is a bad idea and you will lose your money.
The government has a habit of destroying everything they touch or being completely useless. People are looking for a better place to put their money as the currency here is weak too.

Changing the "currency" without changing the governments, will not help the people of those countries. A country with a corrupt government

will not push any of the benefits to their citizens, because they will only make bigger profits for themselves. One of the benefits of Bitcoin is

that it is border-less, so the citizens can bypass all the restrictions and limitations that are enforced with fiat payment options. So we see a lot

of countries, using Bitcoin when trade limitations are forced on them.  Wink

Exactly, but you miss the point and that is that you are not changing the currency of the government but that of the people. bitcoin is free. Let the government play with their monopoly money.
You right bitcoin helps so much with trading and limitations. I can't imagine not using it.
407  Economy / Economics / Re: China’s President Xi Urges Accelerated Blockchain Technology Adoption on: November 01, 2019, 05:57:43 PM
I don't know what mean by China president with adoption blockchain bitcoin or altcoin as legal transaction payment, we want to play with bitcoin price for get profit or just playing drama with bitcoin and altcoin price, if they are serious want to adopt bitcoin maybe China president have asking for their institution for prepare needed to adopt bitcoin and altcoin transaction, but now still not have seriously how to adopt bitcoin in China.
What I know is that they only want to adopt Blockchain technology, not want to adopt Bitcoin, because they will most likely make their own Crypto for use in China. But if later they want to adopt Bitcoin I think it is a good step for the world of Crypto because it could be that the price of Crypto will increase.
Yep! As we have understood on the Chinese President's statement, their main focus is blockchain technology, not bitcoin nor altcoins. They wanted to lead the development of blockchain technology and use it to their advantage. They may create their own coin to regulate and run it to increase their socioeconomic status.

That's because they cannot control or profit from bitcoin. It makes sense they want their people to adopt their own crypto which is under their control. It is a bit odd though TBH since they don't like bitcoin and spoke about it like they were against it. They not against technology they against whoever controls it. Now they can mine their own currency and mind their own business and have their own blockchain separate from ours.
One thing I do wonder is how much of Chinese mining hash rate will be used for its new coin?
408  Economy / Economics / Re: The U.S. Government Tried To Shut Down Bitcoin on: November 01, 2019, 05:34:43 PM

Trump is a businesses man who doesn't know much about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies but he certainly didn't try to do something like that, he knows what would that mean for the position of US.
Even if Trump doesn't exactly know what Bitcoin is, his advisors do and forward every detail that matters directly to him. It's impossible for him to not know much about Bitcoin with how even the federal reserve is talking about it.

I'm sure there have been a lot of closed-door meetings where they discussed the potential damage Bitcoin could inflict on their financial stability. It has grown past that joke no one would care about. It's impossible to ignore Bitcoin at this stage.

The funny part about Trump tweeting negatively about Bitcoin is the fact that it actually helps Bitcoin gain global exposure, so his attempt to discourage people from using it works against him.

Sensationalist Americans though. Trumps an idiot and everyone knows it. His ignorance is insane and the things he thinks up and says.... -_-
It is just paranoia and if he really does have advisers telling him all about the dangers of bitcoin then I really do not know what to say, that is taking it so far. I think they inflict it themselves on their financial stability, I mean they running on a system of constant debt.
409  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency usage will boost economy or make it worst ? on: November 01, 2019, 01:32:19 PM
There is actually a statement, specifically the IRS 2014-21 where all virtual currencies are subjected to tax still. Therefore, stating that buying using BTC or any other crypto, is in fact, still liable to tax. As for the specifics, I don't really know but the 2014-21 already states that existing tax principles apply to transactions using virtual currency. The taxable events are Cashing out, Paying using crypto, Exchanging one crypto to another or Receiving mined crypto. These are some I just looked up in google and you can search for more information if you want specifics.

I don't see how they going to tax what you have mined. The situation is controversial at best. They will tax you for the value of the crypto at the time? This is going to be a big mess. The USA IRS is very anal about paying tax. They like a bunch of thugs you pay protection money to.

How exactly will you pay tax on exchanging one crypto to another? If I trade you my football card collection or my comic book collection with yours I do not pay tax. I think the USA is trying to pull stuff out the arse and pull a fast one on the people since the paranoid (as usual) of losing control of losing money of losing the power of all sorts of things. I think the USA needs to go fight another war or something, go "liberate" another country or something.  Roll Eyes
410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you invest 60 BTC? on: November 01, 2019, 01:27:57 AM
It would be better to just keep it as bitcoin and hodl. You would not need to worry since you are already rich. No need to invest it or try risk it to make more. YOu already will have enough. Just spend it and enjoy it. You can even convert some to fiat so you can do things you need to do and then keep the rest as bitcoin. You don't even need to buy any altcoins but you can if you prefer to diversify your investment a little. I would take 1 or 2 bitcoin and just play around with them on the market buying and selling different altcoins, sort of like a side investment/experiment.

0.01$ four fixed ads.

Best regards

Nice.
You should add the minimum withdraw amount to this thread and if you want your forum to be more popular I suggest you raise the 0.05 per Forum Posting significantly 0.05 is not even worth bothering about since 500=$1
I like the website. The red is nice. It doesn't look like a template most of the PTC websites seem to all share.

Btw where do you get the clients from who need advertising? I know that many admins use their own stuff to get referrals and I also know that they make fake ones just to fill their ads. The rented refs can also be set to bots. That is ok if it still makes profit but many admins make sure it makes none. I am not saying you do any of this I am just wondering.
412  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why did 95% of traders fail and lose money? on: October 31, 2019, 10:14:44 AM
I don't know how anyone can really rely on trading as income. I see it as additional income and a reward for taking your time in choosing where to invest. I don't see constant trading as a good idea or a way to get income. It is rather when you finally sell some of the crypto you invested in because you chose a strong project that you believe in. I use a few avenues of revenue and see trading as a bonus and extra savings money or further investment money.
413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dont break rules while trading on: October 31, 2019, 09:54:21 AM
I follow some rules. Am not sure if they will work you for everyone but these are the basics.
1. Keep it simple. Once I tried to gather as much info before start trading. Many indicators, many news, vast analysis made me paralyzed to trade.
2. Avoid crypto trading on weekend and Friday too. Instead enjoy the holidays.
3. Never do Revenge trading, you will only trade whenever you have proper mindset.
4. Never love any asset, emotional trading will kill your investment.

Consider those tips as free gift, not financial advice. Always do your own research
Absolutely agree with 1 point.Indeed having such a wide choice for investment is very difficult to adjust what is better to buy and what is better to sell.

I would rather be paralyzed to trade than to invest in something that I lose my money. If you see a truly decent investment you will do your research and not be so indecisive. A really good project will make the choice for you. I am not so sure about not trading on Friday and the weekend though. If you want to be successful you must work hard and that means working on the weekend. not trading on 3 days out of 7 is ridiculous. I do agree that you need a break to enjoy life. YOu need to enjoy some of that hard-earned crypto.
414  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Making a bitcoin cassino on: October 31, 2019, 09:10:20 AM
I have been investing in bitcoin since it's inception. I've used it for very notorious things, DW, sports bettings, buying lifelong subscriptions etc. Well I am kind of over that and the other day it occurred to me when I lost my last hand of blackjack. Why don't I just make my own?? I did lots of googling and the templates available make you pay extra fees and add scripts to enable games. Total rip off.

Are there any normal bitcoin templates out there? I already have hosting and domain from previous thing. It seeems so damn easy and I feel like most of the time your losing anyway.

If someone could help point me in the right direction that works I will send them a gift, seriously!!!

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Just go back to sleep rather.

Templates? Do you even know what a template is? How are you going to make a casino with templates?

lol, "hosting and domain" oh wow then you just about ready right??

"It seeems so damn easy" Eh? So where is your casino? You are not serious you made one post and you haven't even come back to reply.

Btw just the payment structure alone is a mission to put together. If you make a mistake or use some dodge script you could lose everything. You also need a large bankroll. I think at least 50x your minimum bet amount.
415  Economy / Economics / Re: What are the odds that the government/banks will truly create their own coin? on: October 31, 2019, 09:02:04 AM
I think it is really simple. As technology increases the government needs to keep up. You cannot expect to still be issuing out fiat when everyone else is doing it digitally. It will be very interesting to see how this is all dealt with and how things develope as time passes. It has been 10 years already and so much has changed. The future is very exciting for us.

Today, there are a lot of cryptocurrencies. Nothing will change if governments add some new cryptocurrencies to the market. They cannot threat bitcoin. Whether a government create a decentralized or even centralized cryptocurrency they make bitcoin more popular. Every one try to study about cryptocurrencies, first will know bitcoin.

I think if the government will create there own cryptocurrency then it'll be more centralized or regulated, I don't think they will create a decentralized one because it means they can't control it

But what's in it for them?

They already have fiat which is already digital (and likely with some cryptography involved along the way) and which they can fully control. These rumors (of some government creating their own variety of cryptocurrency, mostly a Chinese one) have been circulating since at least 2015, but no one has yet explained why would they want that

Okay, someone could come up with the idea they want their own cryptocurrency to compete with Bitcoin but this suggestion assumes they consider Bitcoin a threat. However, if they really considered it a threat, they would likely just ban it and get done with that (as some countries already did anyway)

Simple, so that they can tax it. I think it is more likely an innovative country that creates its own blockchain for its own cryptocurrency.
416  Economy / Economics / Re: CASHING OUT YOUR CRYPTO-CURRENCY PROFITS on: October 31, 2019, 08:49:27 AM
Nice topic. Good to see some interesting topics I can really sink my teeth into lol

I was silly when bitcoin was up last year and I have been staying away from converting to fiat but I wish I had since I spent my bitcoin when it was at $3000 and it makes me cry. I was so scared of paying tax and all this other crap I basically shot myself in the foot. I just didn't want to be under the radar for large transactions all of a sudden.

I don't really have too much of a problem since I spend bitcoin on most things fiat on groceries and light and water bill. I keep a bit more for going out and for takeaway and things like that. This all falls under a certain amount per year and that amount is too little to be taxed on. So I don't actually qualify for tax.

I don't pay tax on my crypto since it is crypto and not government-issued. Hell, it's not even money its just "nerd" money we gave value to. xP

There is also a bit of a moral dilemma. There is some corruption in government like in all but we have serious problems like a low rate of employment and many jobless people. The tax money is often wasted. For me it feels like paying tax only feeds and encourage corruption. It actually feels like I am going against my country by paying tax when I know some will be wasted or used to buy officials new sports cars.
It isn't like in Europe where you get free medical care and schooling or at least very cheap. We don't get any of that here. They want you to pay tax and give you very little back. Then you have to use medical aids and other private companies because the government pays for almost nothing. Anything that is public here is total crap. You will die in a public hospital..... -_-

So that is how I feel about that.
417  Economy / Economics / Re: How many bitcoiners on here have actually used bitcoin/crypto for commerce? on: October 31, 2019, 08:36:34 AM
I spend bitcoin several times a week, both in person and online.

I've spoken about my in person spending on the forum before. I spend bitcoin predominantly at my local farmers' market, which runs every Sunday, and I usually visit 2-3 times per month. None of the stalls there accepted bitcoin when I first started going. I talked to my favorite stall repeatedly, stating I wanted to pay in bitcoin, and eventually they hopped on board. Now there are 4 or 5 different stalls there who all accept bitcoin and some other cryptocurrencies, and I am definitely not the only one paying in bitcoin. If you want to spend bitcoin, then you have to create demand for retailers to accept it. Any small or independent merchants or retailers you frequent are easy to talk to and raise the idea of them accepting bitcoin. Large retailers are companies are much harder - I've sent emails to many a customer support asking for bitcoin integration, but no success on this front yet. But nothing ventured, nothing gained, as they say. The more people who starting putting pressure on retailers to accept bitcoin, the better.

Online I have spent bitcoin on Newegg to buy electronics, on Overstock to buy various home goods, and on Bitrefill to buy fiat vouchers for a number of other retailers I use online and in person who don't yet accept bitcoin themselves. I've also moved the small amount of sports betting I do from a fiat site over to a bitcoin site.

If you include methods like bitcoin credit cards which will convert to fiat on the fly, then you can literally spend bitcoin anywhere. Widespread adoption and people using bitcoin for what it was intended - a currency - is the only way we will see sustainable, long-term growth of both the price and of bitcoin itself. The wild price movements up and down are based on speculation only. I can sympathize with people who don't want to spend their bitcoin as they think the price will increase, but it won't increase unless people are using it. Replace it if you want, buy more, earn more, talk to your employer about switching some of your salary from fiat to bitcoin or accept it in your own business, but go out and spend it.

In-person? Now that is cool! I have never paid bitcoin in person though I usually buy online so I wouldn't anyway. I love local markets and always support the local events and the hand made items. I like plants and nature and gardening so a farmers market sounds awesome. Those other 4 stores accepted bitcoin without being talked into it? I don't know why people here at the local stores accept bitcoin. Perhaps when I start my cannabis business we will be there first and offer 10% off on all crypto payments.

Do you know if those credit card things work in south africa? I have heard long ago about xapo but I think they were a scam? (not sure on that one) There must have been some reason I didn't use it. It must have to be connected to my bank? I don't even use credit cards.

I don't need to worry about spending your bitcoin. You'll spend fiat anyway so convert it to bitcoin first. I work online so at the 3 websites I work on 2 pay me in bitcoin. The other either bank deposit or paypal which I use my brothers paypal since I am not on a bank that supports it and don't want to change banks. (they all suck)
418  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency usage will boost economy or make it worst ? on: October 30, 2019, 12:49:56 AM
I think crypto will boost the economy. Fiat and the government have already failed us. It is time for us to do things for ourselves and for us to be in control of our own finances. Crypto cannot possibly make things worse than they already are so you may as well give it a go.

it is very possible to harm the local government but if the local government does or revises the tax law through crypto for the company then it can be avoided, because crypto is no stranger to the government so it could be that even though using crypto is still subject to tax by the government

Yes doing tax through their own cryptocurrency is the only way. You won't be able to tax people the way they use to. They cannot tax the crypto. You do however pay VAT on all purchases and that cannot be helped.
419  Economy / Economics / Re: So much for cashless society: cash is gaining in popularity on: October 30, 2019, 12:35:06 AM
I was standing the queue to pay for my shopping the other day and I was looking at the cash register person and thinking about how long they sit there and work and take peoples filthy money all the time. I thought about how often they have to touch the money that has been who knows where and they do this all day long. It is a disgusting thought. Money is so dirty. I was thinking how nice it would be to simply just scan a QR code and be on your way. I have used money. I hate that you must keep is in a wallet or purse and I hate that you can lose it. I hate that it is dirty and I really really hate coins and small change that just weights down my wallet after a day of shopping. Physical money seems not very technologically advanced to me and when I look around I see all this high tech stuff so why is our money not high tech too? I mean how are we still using physical money.
Oh and fiat is a terrible way to keep value. I would rather buy gold and hold that. Fiat will go down in buying power because of inflation.
420  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I am Looking For a free cryptocurrency exchange script on: October 30, 2019, 12:28:47 AM
If you cannot afford a script then how on earth are you going to fund your exchange? You really haven't thought this through, have you?

I am not a developer, but don't you think that choosing this kind of script by its price may be insecure?
If you want to make money on a project like this, you cannot get things for free.

Exactly. The mere fact the OP is talking about getting things for free shows how pointless and out of their depth they are. Free scripts will be nulled which is fine if you don't mind piracy. Besides that there may contain many backdoors and you run your script all happy-clappy and one day an unknown user gets admin privileges and withdraws and cleans you out. What will the OP do then?
