4021  Economy / Reputation / Re: be.open & Sancho18 - bounty cheaters. on: October 15, 2019, 08:22:08 PM
I'm not going to do any video chat, because that's almost as bad as doxing myself.

I was wondering how that could be done without sharing your real phone number, which is how Whatsapp works.  Telegram and Keybase don't offer video chat, and I don't know of any anonymous chat service that does.

I wouldn't do that either, and I'm sorry for dragging you into this.  If I was a similar situation as be.open you're one of the few people I would trust with my proof.
4022  Economy / Reputation / Re: be.open & Sancho18 - bounty cheaters. on: October 15, 2019, 07:01:08 PM
Sancho is my son’s account, now he is 17

We've heard these types of excuses so many times they get harder and harder to believe after a while.  If my son was on this forum I would have had some interaction with him on the forum that would make it obvious that we are close, or made a public declaration of our relationship at some point in time.  Too often these excuses are given by accounts that appear to have avoided any indication that "they know each other" and then all of the sudden, once an address or a social media account is connected to both accounts these types of excuses come out.

Perhaps I can enter a video chat on whatsapp with one of the DT members and show my passport, in which there is an entry about the presence of my son, born in 2002.

I'm not sure that would really help.  All that would prove is that you indeed have a 17 year-old son.  Unless you and your son can join the video chat together.  In that case identification wouldn't really be necessary, in my opinion.  By your local time setting it looks like you are in central Asia.  Maybe you can convince LoyceV to participate in video call with you and your son.  He's in western Europe, so your time zones are close.

I'm really sorry for you finding yourself in this situation.  Both be.open and Sancho seem like decent folks.  Helpful, contributing the forum, and not your typical shit-posting bounty spammers.  I want to believe you, but short of convincing a DT member that you are two different people you're reputation will suffer as a result of this.  Good luck.

4023  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: October 15, 2019, 01:47:31 PM
And how could someone possibly misspell "copper" as "chopper"?  That blows my mind.

The replies to that thread were hilarious, but I'll excuse the misspelling as a cultural thing.  I'm not an expert in languages, but I believe "ch" is pronounced like "k" in a few languages, including Italian.

How can I have a signed message with blockchain.com ? there is no option to get the signed message there

The only way is to import a private key into blockchain.com's web wallet, but that's not a very safe option.  It's best to use hardware or desktop wallet for added security.
4025  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: The next release of Electrum will support Lightning payments on: October 14, 2019, 03:43:38 PM
Awesome news, I'm anxiously awaiting this new toy opportunity to lean more about lightning.  Electrum implementing lightning functionality is likely to be a big boost for the technology.  So many people use electrum, but may have never researched how it works or how to use it.

Just fair warning to anyone who's going to jump in head first: This is still new, experimental technology, don't put more money into a lighting channel than you are willing to lose.

4027  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Is there anyway to use Ledger Nano S without updating? on: October 11, 2019, 01:11:14 AM
I saw the bitcoin app, but I was talking about the "Ledger Manager" Chrome extension.  It's a plug-in that works with the Google Chrome web browser.  It'll also likely work with Chromium.  That has an option to access your Ethereum wallets.
"Ledger Manager" was only useful for updating firmware and/or adding/removing "coin apps" from the device. It has no wallet functionality.

Thanks for the correction.  Great idea about an older version of MEW, too.

So now another tricky part...

She received BCH during the original BTC fork and believe that BCH is still "on" her Ledger. I am not as well versed in the world of BCH. Are there any Ledger support BCH wallets? She has a MAC. I am going to try the old Bitcoin chrome app next time I see her.

That actually might be the easiest part.  You can use Electrum to extract your bitcoin private keys, and subsequently extract any BCH that is trapped on them.  As far as I know, Electrum doesn't care about firmware versions of hardware wallets.  And yes, I'm bracing myself for a correction, lol.  Grin

4030  Economy / Reputation / Re: List of user that "abuse" positive and negative trust feedback. on: October 10, 2019, 07:22:07 PM
Ok, I see some updates, but:
marlboroza || 1 and 2 ||Craige288reagannn || 1, 2 || He used the work of reagannn without being ashamed as a means to send negative
...I am really having hard time to follow you. Reagannn exposed some cheaters in spectre's campaign and I used that work to tag bizzilion ponzinarians?

I think DadyD has his panties in a bunch because you didn't do the investigation work yourself.  In his opinion you're piggybacking on the work of others to elevate your own value in the "trust-network."

The argument is obviously ridiculous on it's face.  If reagannn isn't a DT member, any review he may have left for all those ponzi promoters would go unnoticed by the rest of the community.  DadyD's argument that repeating reviews for the same offense being unwarranted is also ridiculous.  Trust isn't moderated, and a lot of abusive behavior isn't against the rules.  Therefor trust is largely opinion based, and anyone can leave their opinion on your trust wall for any reason.  As such, anyone is free to ignore those reviews and opinions.

You sent me the first negative feedback, and I don't think it's wrong.

Well, I'm glad you've acknowledge that my review is accurate (or "not wrong,") but are you in agreement that your actions were wrong?

4031  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Is there anyway to use Ledger Nano S without updating? on: October 10, 2019, 06:22:34 PM
I found a link to the old Ledger Manager Chrome app.  That may work for you.  Since it's their old way of connecting the wallet it may not need the latest firmware.  Worth a try:

4032  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: 0.5 BTC Loan - 60 days on: October 10, 2019, 05:13:16 PM
Seems to be "could-be" collateral in terms of validity. https://www.kicksoccercoin.com - I see some good news going around too, nicely done on the purchase (maybe?).

What platform are you using to gauge price? I see 1 BTC equalling roughly 12k on coingecko - does anyone actively trade this right now? I can secure this for you if the collateral can be assured liquid/to-be listed on notable exchanges.

What do you mean by this?  Are you offering to fill the loan, or hold the collateral as an escrow agent?

I wanted to know more about the coin, why the borrower thinks it's valid as collateral. When I checked - it seemed the price was "good enough" but not many (or liquid at least) markets.

@OP What platform would you use to convert to BTC/USD if it were to happen?

I think the coin sucks ass, but that wasn't my question.  Would you mind answering the question I asked:
Are you offering to fill the loan, or hold the collateral as an escrow agent?
4033  Economy / Reputation / Re: [LIST] of user that "abuse" positive and negative trust feedback. on: October 10, 2019, 04:46:21 PM
How come I didn't make your list?  I was the first to "abuse" you, so I'm really feeling neglected.   Huh
And don't forget, "D" comes before "Y" and "M" in the alphabet... Wink

Your "table" is making my eyes bleed.  It's disorganized and really hard to follow.  So, I fixed it for you.  Feel free to copy it from the code box and paste it into your post.  I promise I won't report you for plagiarism.

For these wasteful trips you two should be dispossessed of your time machines and barred from operating any non-Newtonian equipment. The only proper use of such contraption is to send your 2009-self one Antminer.

Greedy!  Hell, I'd be happy to send my 2009 self an admonishing letter for not pointing one GTX 760 towards the blockchain.

Because agencies can't give out fake passports and ids?

Can't scammers fake such documents?  Don't you think this has been tried before?  Don't be so dense, no one is going to believe some random newbie, and ID's aren't going to get you anywhere.

I apologize I don't mean to be rude or anything I'm just really stressed out.  O if that's not enough I can also show you my bank account and my investment account.  I can even send a selfie of me holding the ID.  I can show you my search history of looking for loans for the past 3 weeks.

None of those documents are going to help you.  Stop spamming this board with your nonsense.  If you have investment accounts and you need to pay bills, it sounds like it's time to make an emergency withdrawal.  Pay back to your own investment accounts on the 18th, no more stress!
